this is my experience with the Merc losing it on Corner entry in fast corners and I got absolutely fed up with it so I came up with a solution so you never have to worry about this problem again when you are driving the Mercedes gd3 Evo in aceto Corsa competi in this video I'm going to explain different levels of setup and how we can actually make this a very good beginner car as as well so uh normally I would say your best beginner car is the AA Martin I think it still is but it's just an average normal Jenny in your class which isn't really special but you're really going to enjoy her when you're with her but when you're using the Merc this is absolute your party girl because it has a lot more emotion it has a lot more power on curbs it's really good on curbs and it's just way more fun to drive if you set it up correctly so let's get into it and the best thing is the I'm using it I'm showing laps and like different setups for the nurburging track but you can take this to a lot of different tracks as well so you can just copy these setups bring them to Spa bring them to kyalami or whatever track you want to drive it it probably will work and also will explain a little bit what you need to do on PO cards or like mon are top speed tracks now don't skip ahead and just take the setups because I also will explain how we can make this car super safe on entry and fast Corners so you don't have to lose it like I did in the beginning of this video before we get into all the level setups I need to talk about the announce preset for everybody who's been following me on the channel take off that front splitter it's just creating drag and it's not creating any downforce for your front end so use that with this card as well the splitter we take off now before we get into the higher levels first we need to get go to level one now I really believe this is very safe I think everybody can start with this and you're probably uh going to suffer some underst here but uh as for beginners and also with this setup I normally go for this bump settings but you can also min max it out on every value to be more of a meta is person now this is pretty straightforward it looks a lot like the an out preset and traction control wise this is a little bit on the high side and also with the tire menu not a lot of fantasy let's look at the lab so kind of uh hard for me to determine what will be a beginner uh lab so maybe this will be already on a very quick side for some but just know that when you're using this level one setup you're going to actually uh be able to rep replicate this time uh what I found very struggling in the beginning with astoa is I lack the belief that there was lap type in a certain car or setup so this was always a big question mark is it my driving or is it the setup so this is a very good Baseline this setup level one setup you can really use on a whole variety of tracks only on the Monza you need to take the wing off but I really believe if you get the rear ride height of this car all the way to the minimum and you take off the wing let's say you have only 25% Wing then this can also work really well on Monza now in this lap I need to use a whole bunch of steering input it's pretty much under steering like every time but uh when we're on throttle it's uh like kind of under steering but it does trill B quite good so with the brakes you can actually point that front end into the corner and with this setup you just need to be a little bit more patient when going on throttle um this Merc has a lot of the same like it's a front engine car so it has the tendency to under steer but uh this car is absolutely insane uh if we get up to uh the higher levels so over here is well I need really need to be patient with the throttle to be to go like floor it and that's like uh the first level when we look at the level two setup there are quite some changes and they are like small ones so on the Arrow tab we actually got like 2 mm extra of ride height now I made this video for the Austin as well and then we go just 5 mm and again 5 mm with this car you need to really be uh careful with the rear ride height I will explain in the later setups as well why this is crucial for this car um we increased some of these bomb stop ranges we lowered the brake buas a little bit uh bump stop range on the back I'm not sure we also um when when you suffer from like the oversteer uh or under stair Stu off you can also uh increase the ENT roll bar on the back of this car and uh we took off some Trac control ABS Tire uh window we kept the same uh let's look at that second lap and see how much we can improve upon so second lap um I'm actually every time I'm driving I'm trying to drive the perfect line over here I just like that Apex I could have done that a little bit better but I'm overall trying to really push it with this certain setup uh so to explain how much uh is in it and the difference between all these different levels is that with with the higher levels we go the more I can just push that car with my braking inputs and steering inputs and also uh with this Merc throttle inputs gets very important as well you can really gain lap time with the throttle with that massive acceleration this car has so you can see that like in the first sector we gained like two1 of a second because that front end is just biting more in these corners and sometimes when you look at these laps there will be somewhat of a variety because you know I I'm human as well you know I cannot be like a machine and push out every perfect lap that only Max for stepping can something do something like that yeah so um to have more ranges on the front uh will make the front bite more so we actually gain more traction when we go into corners and also a little bit of extra ride height makes it just more rotating uh together with the brake bias now I'm changing all these values like simultaneously so I can have this uh extra rotation in like every part of the corner but you can also feel free to just increase only like or decrease only the brake bias so under braking you will have more turn in yeah but this is just an example how I like to show it 15 now it's time to go to that level three setup and now we actually going to get some pace and actually use a little bit of this Merc power to increase our lap time or decrease our lap times I'm never sure how to call it increase decrease lap time whatever um Arrow wise 75 mm on the back you can never ever go higher on the Merc with the rear ride height it doesn't work if you do it you will get the same situation as the intro of this video the back end uh will become very unpredictable especially when we go into faster Corners now this is I I I'm not sure what the reason is or how the physics in the game work but if you like would talk about some realism uh this would just mean that the back end of the car is just too high when you we touch the brakes and somehow it's releasing the like you lose all pressure on the on the rear tirres when it will just Spin and uh making this ride height higher will just change this nice behaving girl into a borderline bipolar is like car so there are other ways to get more rotation in this car in this instance I increased the anti- rollar on the front a little bit because of this uh right height and I did uh even less bombb stop range on the back I decreased the brake bias and I also increased the entry rollar this is something that I just will not do with the Austin but with this car because I cannot get more ride height I need to find that rotation from the back of this anti roll bar and you could even go lower with the bomb stop ranges but this is just what I came up with also we take a little bit of this abs off and yeah just have a look at this next lap and see how we're improving again with the level three setup so lab number three and yes so the changes that I'm making in the uh setup um if you're a super beginner uh you can just take this like you make like set setup level two and three and all the changes in between you can take smaller steps with this or just do only ride height or just do only a bump stop range or just do only a break bias I'm just doing a lot of different ones so you can pick it and test it but it's not a relation you need to choose between two or three or whatever but uh yeah so you can like always have a variety of these uh in between of these setups now because we change the ride height we have more anti roll bar uh we have less ABS we can go later on the brakes we can Trail break better we can use more of the braking to steer the car into the corner and especially with again a little bit of a lower Bump Stop ranges this corner gets faster because that back end when I'm on throttle it ju it will just rotate better so we almost gained one like a th in that fast s corner and yeah so and over here this corner it's I think for me it's sometimes really hard to really Master this corner but uh yeah and now we're moving up to that chicane and this is an absolute like weapon of this car the curbs you know the curbs are just so easy in this car you can just fly over them and it's so much very forgiving and I hope it will never change because it's quite hard to set up but it's very rewarding when you actually do uh especially these levels I think it's going to be really useful for you to uh drive it so yeah and now we got like a 55.2 yeah so we're improving again so I totally forgot to mention in the level three that I increase the wheel rates as well yeah so let's go to level four on the level four arrow wise the same dampers the same on level four I actually increased even more bomb stra range on the front to get like more travel on this front Springs to just again increase our turn in our grip on the front travel on the front very beneficial and I'm also did something with the toe values because uh a little bit of this uh more negative toe on the front helps the inside wheel to turn in also a little bit better and the toe on the ranges also will help with the overall rotation because in the level three lap I still struggled with some under ster and I could not really like go on throttle early enough to squeeze out more lap time so let's look at this next lap to see what we come up with now this is actually a level that I would use for like a lot of tracks and also for this track really really good setup and if you using this setup but you're just struggling on Entry pay close attention just increase your front wheel rates with one or two clicks so it will be not so uh powerful on or aggressive on Entry but you still have the benefits of the uh rest of the balance of the car overall it does not do a whole lot so this is something you also maybe can test out for yourself using the setups but just have a little bit of higher wheel rates on the front now um I'm really liking the balance of this car at this point and I really want to like the next level five we have even more changes and I'm also going to explain how we can even push it even further if you have like even more skill than me because I am not some someone who can be super like insanely fast I know people that are even way faster than me and they run even more ridiculous values but uh yeah this is just something uh this also this this level and this next level it still has some forgiveness in it you don't have to be like super precise you can still make a little bit of a mistake but also note that this level four setup is is already pretty aggressive on the front and if I have a beginner someone in my rig I cannot give him this setup it will be way too aggressive and way too loose on the back will be very much over steer so you really need to be like sensible with throttle and steering and everything so yeah we did like the first 54 which is pretty good so now we get to that absolute most juicy level five setup uh the only thing I did change here was in even lower brake bias and the arrow dampers the same I also took off another click of this traction control now this made me a little bit more inconsistent but if I have like a hyperfocused qual lab I would probably go uh two um feel free to go even lower at one but uh yeah your throttle input will be very sensitive and and also I decreased the toe values on the front and on the back this is just like a little bit experimental mode I would say I will not really go even way lower but I have seen setups that go like Max and this one as well you can go even further but this is just where I draw the line this is good enough for me for now for my current level let's look at the final lap and see how much left time we can squeeze out oh and by the way if you like if you can use this but you're just struggling on Entry what I said before you could just increase the view rates on the front and then you have a little bit more predictability and less tur in when you steer into the corner and that you can also increase this break bias again and use the setup and see how that feels so uh yeah let's look at that final lap shall we now I'm going to have to admit I had to like do this lap a few times but uh this setup is actually also really really freaking quick and I actually believe that this first corner I did a little bit better than in the other laps so that is not the reason why I'm gaining one10 in this corner but you can see here that this like mechanical technical slow Corner grip section it's really the setup is really promoting this uh increase of this lap time uh but I just screwed up this last Corner a little bit so and over here as well I just like be really try to always get like the most of The Trackers possible over here I actually leave a little bit of Apex left if you if you can replicate like even squeeze these lines even better then you can like still go faster than this lap what I am doing here I'm overshooting a little bit but little bit of a v-shaped corner but then the exit also gets a little bit better you can see in the Delta as well again with the setup you really need to be sensitive with your throttle input uh this s's also like feel really great the setup over this corner as well you can take a lot of curb here with the Merc I had a little bit correct here and this corner as well really like again with this F level five setup I can just go on throttle just a little bit earlier I'm using the throttle to rotate the car get that initial acceleration going again this chicane absolute blast really fun to do and uh yeah this last Corner gentle on the throttle and then fully so and we did like a 54.3 now if I did another 200 laps I will probably get in the 53s but uh yeah that would take me a bit now if you want this all this level one 2 3 4 five and onot preset in your game file in a car comp if you're playing on PC you can have a look in the patreon store for only five bucks you can get like all these setups filled in for you on all the tracks and that will support me and it will save you a bunch of time so yeah and I want to thank you everybody who's been supporting the channel for like the last few months if you like this content please hit that like button that really helps of the channel and if you want to have the same video like this one but for the Austin Martin or the Porche 992 you can pick between these two videos
