hello and this is sunny welcome back today my topic is how to CP starts and closes a session tcp stands for transmission control protocol it is the most popular transport protocol on a tcp/ip network when tcp is used to trust me the data it will include three stages session studying data transmission and a session india let me use an example to demonstrate these three stages here is the scenario a web client which is your browser once a web page from web server but the first is first a connection or session must be established between your browser and the web server TCP uses a three-way handshake to start a session step one the client sends a single sim packet to the server asking for a session saying simply means hi web server do you want to talk step two the web server replies 'as with a single thing ACK packet scene ACK means the server acknowledges the clients request and ask the client for a talk is like yes I want to talk do you want to talk is it sounds weird to ask a client do you want to talk but this is how TCP talks I will explain later on step three the client replies with a syncing packet which simply says yes I want to talk the three-way handshake process is not very natural to people when we people talk we normally say hi Bob do you want to talk even Bob wants to talk Bob anomaly replies sure under a normal situation Bob would not say sure I want to talk but do you want to talk because Bob assumes that I want to talk otherwise I will not ask Bob to talk in the first place however computers never make assumptions at least in the year of 2018 and in the near future basically two computers use a three-way handshake to negotiate and start a session before any webpage get transferred once the connection is established data packets are transferred during the data transmission TCP also guarantees that the data is a successfully received and is reassembled in a cracked order after server sends all packets to the client a four step procedure is also performed before the connection is closed here is how it works step 1 the server sends faint ACK packet to the Clym saying I'm Adam can you hear me this is what faint ack means step to the client responds with a sickly packet saying yes I got your message yes I hear you step 3 when the client completes downloading the web page it is Saints faint ack to the server basically saying I am done can you hear me step 4 the server responds with ACK after this the session between them can be properly closed on the client continues to ask for another webpage in summary TCP uses a three-way handshake to start the connection before any data packets are transmitted during the data transmission TCP also guarantees data packets are delivered and reassembled correctly they TCP uses a four-step procedure to terminate the connection there's a three-stage process makes a TCP connection oriented and a reliable protocol thank you very much and see you next time [Music]
