How Powerful Are The Infinity Stones?

hello i'm tyler this is the imaginary axis and let's start today's episode off with a riddle a man walks into a hotel with infinite rooms but finds they're all booked there is no space left the manager tells him oh that's no problem i'll prepare a space for you right away and does so by ordering the residents of room 1 into room 2 room 2 into room 3 etc and since there are infinite numbers this effectively creates an empty room how is this possible we don't know i cheated the math for this problem works out because of infinity but it seems to go against common logic we just made a spare room in a full hotel without getting rid of anybody it gets worse too if infinite new guests then arrive at the hotel the manager can make room for each and every one of them by moving the residents of room 1 into room 2 room 2 into room 4 room 3 into room 6 and so on with each guest entering a room twice their own since any number multiplied by two is an even number this moves each guest into an even numbered room since there are infinite even numbers this makes each odd room vacant and since there are infinite odd numbers there is now plenty of space for the new guests in fact the manager can do this infinite times if he wants always creating infinite new rooms for infinite waves of infinite guests scientists mathematicians and philosophers have always struggled to grasp the concept of infinity applying infinity to our world often results in absurdities that we don't fully understand everything we know about reality breaks down even on the most basic level which is why it's important you comprehend the weight of my words when i say the infinity stones are very accurately named relics they do exactly as they say predating our universe and the very multiverse itself the infinity stones were once an ancient entity of limitless power in this time it was the sole being of all creation it was all that was and all that was was it no one would fault you for calling this endless entity god and when god decided to live no more it committed a form of cosmic suicide that resulted in the birth of everything we know let there be light but that kind of power never just vanishes instead through one form or another each universe in the resulting multiverse forged its own variation of the infinity stones the last remnants of god's being each holding full authority over some aspect of that tiny speck of an infinite creation if you've spent any time reading marvel comics or watching marvel movies you might be familiar with these the space stone holds absolute mastery over space allowing its wielder to teleport anything anywhere regardless of measures taken against it it can alter the distance between objects violate the laws of physics and even allow things to exist in multiple places simultaneously the time stone allows infinite manipulation of time the ability to travel through it as well as see through it to stop slow down or speed up time bin time age and de-age objects and exist at multiple places throughout time at once the power stone when properly utilized can increase anything strength and durability to infinite levels its wielder can shatter any object of their choosing with no effort and is completely indestructible the mind stone provides limitless psychic abilities and omnipotence over the mind its wielder can control all minds read all minds rewrite memories telekinetically move anything and shut down any mind of its choosing no matter how strong the soul stone can observe attack split duplicate create destroy or even steal a target's spirit it can manipulate the soul of any and every individual in existence the living the dead a life from another universe it doesn't matter and the reality stone can alter existence to its wielder's choosing it shapes standard logic and universal laws in accordance with its owner's whims these stones are some of the most dangerous artifacts in any reality because their ties to an entity that literally made up everything gives them full authority over well everything for this reason they should be kept far apart from each other and never gathered in the same space because if anybody were to ever collect all of them he or she would truly be infinite as far as we know there are only two hard limits on the stone's powers one the stones cannot be used to destroy themselves the reason each stone grants its wilder so much control over its aspect of the universe is because the stones are themselves like little control panels for whatever they represent all space is intrinsically tied to the space stone so if you were to erase it from existence all of space would have to go with it remember where they came from 2. the stones cannot be used outside of their home universe again they're like control panels for their universe just like your remote won't work on my television one universe's infinity stones will not work on another but aside from those rules infinity really is just infinity it might be difficult to comprehend but this isn't a number not like 30 and 60 and 1432 are numbers you can never count to and reach infinity because you can always add one more rather it's a symbol meant to represent transcendence over numbers it's the number of numbers available endless that is to say no matter how powerful any character of your choosing might be there's still an infinite amount of power separating him or her from an individual with the infinity stones as a demonstration this is abraxas a monster that once threatened the very embodiment of the multiverse itself and collapsed entire timelines just by getting near them pretty impressive right wrong this is the ultimate nullifier a cosmic weapon owned by galactus that can eliminate anything it's fired at universes timelines entire multiverses it erased abraxas with ease that's more like it but even it was casually overpowered and rendered useless by the infinity stones no set power level can compare to endless power if you're capable of destroying a universe a dozen universes a trillion universes as long as there's a number the infinity stones surpass you those with every stone in their grasp are also beyond the abstracts chaos order love hate infinity eternity and even death mean nothing to them it's been shown that the stones allow their wielder to experience time as an unending loop they know everything that's happening at once all that has happened and what will happen in the future with a snap of their fingers they can kill off anybody in their universe even if you're just visiting they can make fools of gods turn adamantium into sponge smash the hulk and there's nothing you can do to stop them because infinity is as big as it gets or is it that doesn't really make a lot of sense does it if the infinity stones are so infinite then how has the universe managed to survive the panels i keep showing on screen if they truly have endless power then shouldn't anybody who gathers them all just be powerful forever and every comic afterwards be about how they effortlessly crush their enemies gee talk about a morbid series well the truth is we have seen the infinity stones beaten before right on panel twice in fact once by the living tribunal and once by doctor doom after absorbing the power of the beyonders it's also been hinted that an even greater power the one above all is the reason nobody who gathers the stones ever seems to be capable of holding on to them as if he's subtly manipulating things in the background and i'm not suggesting these guys aren't powerful far from it the living tribunal is a cosmic god that oversees all realities multiverse is shaped to fit his will and his judgments can alter the cosmic hierarchy the beyonders were a race of nigh omnipotent aliens from outside the multiverse who were capable of destroying abstract gods and effortlessly ending realities the one above all is omnipotent but as impressive as that all sounds that still means there are at least three beings more powerful than the supposedly infinite infinity stones how do we explain this perhaps the stones aren't really infinite after all or maybe these very smart beings just happen to know about a weakness in the stones that we don't or maybe we should stop treating the word infinite like it means unlimited this line will help us find the limit to the infinity stone's infinite power notice how it's only one dimensional that is to say it has nothing but length this square on the other hand has length and width along with an actual area it's two dimensional that's right kids basic geometry is about to help you defeat the infinity stones i hope you've been studying now notice that no matter how long this line is it will never have any area as long as it's one-dimensional even if its length is infinite it is still limited comparatively this square will never have any volume or mass not like an actual cube will why the same problem it's two-dimensional while the cube is three-dimensional but what does all this have to do with our infinity stones how will this help us finally beat them well you might be interested to know that certain mathematical equations have suggested our universe does not only have three dimensions but probably 11 and maybe even more than that if this turns out to be true it would make us and these stones much like our line and square here filled with plenty of length width height volume mass energy etc but completely lacking in some fourth thing and some fifth thing and some sixth thing and so on it's unknown how many dimensions the infinity stones existed in when they were a single entity at the beginning of time but the beyonders and the living tribunal both have infinite dimensions to them that's a lot more than three and the one above all somehow has even more than that existing above dimensions altogether in short just because something is infinite in one dimension does not mean it is infinite in all of them still don't believe me well we can actually demonstrate this ourselves with a minger sponge a mathematical concept that basically takes a cube and punches so many holes in it that it eventually has infinite surface area but zero volume if there were little two-dimensional creatures living on this model they'd all be very impressed that the object was infinite from their perspective but from our perspective it's not only less than infinite it doesn't even exist the infinity stones are our minger sponge everybody in our reality is baffled by the fact that their power never ends but the gods above us probably don't find them very impressive at all and i know this might all sound like nonsense to some of you infinity is infinity and that's all there is to it but infinity itself never made much sense in the first place did it that's because none of this makes sense not to us anyway we're just following where the math takes us in all our lives we'll only ever see one speck of a cosmos that might stretch out forever what's nonsense to us might well be common sense everywhere else historically if the math suggests it that's how things work so have we finally taken it too far or are we just not thinking crazy enough either way if infinity does exist we have an infinite amount of time to figure it out and an infinite amount to learn about it have
