[Music] Avengers Tower yeah hello I'm Tyler this is the imaginary axis and uh I'm just calling to LOD a small complaint about Thor well you see he sat his hammer on my laptop I can't move the dang thing I've got a web show to host uh-huh no I I promised I'd try to release episodes weekly so what if the universe is in Jeopardy this is the internet yeah do you think the comment section's going to Care hello hello I know what you're thinking but don't worry there's no way it's crushed under there Thor's hammer only weighs about 42.3 lb and between you and me that's light enough for most kids to lift before they even turn 10 years old but that's not to say much stronger people haven't tried and failed I mean this is still a weapon of the Gods after all we can't just have any random B off the street picking up a blunt object capable of crushing planets and firing energy that can kill Immortals naturally it only makes sense that Odin would install a Safety Lock and so in order to lift mu you have to be worthy whatever that means and honestly it could be complete gibberish worthy of what worthy to wield the power worthy to rule Asgard worthy to use the hammer for the cause you're trying to accomplish by lifting it it's never been completely clear all we know for sure is that Odin has a really strict definition of the word worthy and it applies almost exclusively to Thor which kind of makes sense I mean it is Thor's hammer but the point still stands that no one is completely sure how Muir works the reason being if we could figure it out we could probably move it so I say we go for it after all rules were meant to be broken right it's only natural or is it super natural right one of the first questions we have to answer before we can figure out how a magical weapon works is can we figure out how it works think of some of the common super terms like super computer or superum super more or less acts as a synonym for above Beyond or extra so if we're dealing with something that's Supernatural can we even study it something Beyond nature that doesn't follow the laws of our universe a power that's exempt from the natural order if you were to encounter a supernatural thing it would be an anomaly in the system and since science requires something to be natural predictable reliable before studying it that thing you found would be completely impossible to explain scientifically it just does what it wants creepy right well I think so as humans we like to have order everything is supposed to work a certain way and the idea that something can just refuse to is kind of scary but even if we did find something that was ignoring the laws of our universe it would be really hard to prove that it was doing that because of another law Clark's Third Law maybe you've heard of it famous author and inventor Arthur C Clark once developed Three Laws relevant to science fiction in his essay hazards of Prophecy the failure of a ination the third law states and I quote any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from Magic or in other words just because something appears to be ignoring the laws of our universe doesn't necessarily mean it is it could be following laws we don't know about or parts of known laws that we don't fully understand yet and that leads to a conundrum since we can't tell highly advanced technology apart from Magic if we were to ever encounter either of them we would just label it as whichever we felt more comfortable with if you were to show a caveman technology he would probably assume it was magic but if you were to show a modern man magic he would probably assume it was technology fortunately we have a way out of this because a few critical sources have spilt the beans on exactly how Supernatural Thor's hammer really is your ancestors called it magic and you call it science well I come from a place where there one in the same thing see what Thor is saying there is that Asgardian science used to be misinterpreted as magic the early Scandinavian people probably had encounters with the Asgardian race and assumed that their technology was Supernatural because they didn't understand the full extent of the natural and believe it or not but this has popped up from time to time in the comics as well in standoff for instance Tony Stark studies an as guardian Crystal Thor gave him and eventually manages to work out a way to manipulate its power into a fully functioning Iron Man suit meant to do battle with the God of Thunder himself remember what we said earlier if it was really super natural it would be Beyond scientific study no the Asgardian Gods aren't magical they're just a really Advanced alien civilization they are so advanced in fact that we have a special name for them a Type 3 civilization according to the kardashev scale a method developed in 1964 or for determining a civilization's technological advancement societies like those depicted in Star Trek are considered type one civilizations capable of utilizing every aspect of their planet to its fullest without negative repercussions the Halo 4Runners are a good example of a type 2 civilization capable of utilizing all the power in their Sun but as guardian technology is capable of producing power that dwarfs their Galaxy vast enough to alter physical laws but by appealing to parts of those laws that we don't know about they appear as Gods to us because humanity is only a type 72 civilization but just because we're so much less technologically advanced than they are doesn't mean we can't at least try to figure out how Asgardian technology works and you know get it off my laptop after all Thor already admitted that it's scientific and therefore following natural laws so we just have to figure out which natural laws his Hammer is following and manipulate them to our advantage whosoever holds of this Hammer if he be worthy should possess the power of Soul voice recognition used to reprogram a computer power emission easy enough and of course the ability to perform an on the spot physical and psychological evaluation to determine if the person touching it meets the required parameters defined as worthiness now I know that last one might sound pretty ridiculous but it's actually not far off from what we're developing today if if you've ever taken a blood test you probably know that the results can take anywhere from days to weeks to get back to you after a doctor collects your blood sample it undergo several procedures involving well-trained personnel and complicated lab equipment but recently biological research has been working on a portable blood test that can give you instant results imagine an item that can diagnose your physical health upon touching it or Nanobots that can determine your personality by monitoring your neurological functions Moler can evaluate you in a second to determine if you're worthy and if you're not but how does it do that is it magic no my friends that is the work of gravity manipulation something our type. 72 civilization hasn't figured out at all really yet but we're working on it you see since Thor's hammer weighs about 42 3 lb on Earth it expels a downward force of 188 Newtons meaning as long as the thing it's sitting on expels an upward Force to match it the hammer will stay still but if you try to add to that upward force and you're unworthy something causes the downward Force to increase if I had to guess milir probably accomplishes this by emitting gravitons theoretical particles responsible for gravity and it's actually been a long time since I've talked about these on this channel I don't think we've mentioned gravitons since my pilot episode on how Superman flies and that was so long ago that I actually had to mention gravitons had never been observed in any manner but today we have better evidence that gravitons exist than ever before because according to Quantum Physics for every particle in the universe there should be a wave counterpart and vice versa so in general if you can prove that one exists you've got some pretty good evidence that the other exists the problem with gravity is for many years both Gra gravitons and gravitational waves proved nearly impossible to detect gravitons if they are out there have no mess and gravitational waves are just distortions in SpaceTime imagine if a gravitational wave was coming toward me right now and I wanted to measure it with this tape measure well as soon as it got here whoops did you see that since it's distorting all of space and time it's also distorting my tape measure allowing it to slip by me completely undetected but if we were to shoot a beam of light across some space as a gravitational wave came by that light would travel across the bitten space and arrive at its destination either sooner or later than we know it should and recently we detected just that at the physics research facility ligo implying yes gravitational waves do exist and gravitons should exist too I ironically gravity is the weakest fundamental force in our universe but it's also the one we know the least about making it simultaneously the easiest and hardest Force to overcome if the hammer was held down by an electromagnetic force or a nuclear force I might have a better idea how to lift it but for right now my only real option seems to be negating all the gravity in this room and at that point even the Unworthy should be capable of wielding Muir but I have no idea how to do that so I'm actually going to call up some help first hello hey comic Drake you're a floating disembodied head right uh well sometimes yeah well I'm working on a method to negate gravity so I can get Thor's hammer off my laptop do you have any suggestions Tyler you can't just turn off gravity why not I converted Mass into energy last week because it's dangerous everything that has mass has Gravity the whole universe is covered in a kind of giant energy net called a higs field and everything that passes through this net is given mass and therefore gravity if you wanted to turn off all the gravity in your room you'd pretty much have to turn off the mass of Earth itself which cannot be a good idea well would it let me lift Thor's hammer I mean probably both Iron Man and the Red Hulk have moved the hammer in the zero gravity conditions of space but it might just be easier and faster to become worthy instead yeah I thought about that but I actually tried lifting it earlier and I'm just not worthy honestly it seems like a pretty subjective term in the first place there has to be a better way of doing it see now that's the interesting part sometimes a character is in fact unworthy until the right conditions arise for example Captain America usually can't lift Thor's hammer but his personality is so close to what Odin considers Worthy that In the Heat of battle when he's pumped with adrenaline he can in fact lift the hammer all the captain needs is a small tweak to his usual personality and then bam worthy are you saying you actually think I have a chance to lift this Hammer with just a few motivational classes well it's possible why don't we head over to my channel and I'll show you a full list of characters that have lifted milir in the past maybe you can cross reference their personalities and figure out what worthy actually means in Odin's terms not a bad idea I'll be over there in a second just let me wrap up here first so I just want to thank you guys for sticking around to learn a thing or two about Thor you're all worthy in my book but I've got a hammer to lift so whether you follow me over to Comic Drake's Channel or not I hope you have a day fit for a god until [Music] then [Music] f
