How Luffy Finally Surpasses Shanks in One Piece!

Luffy versus Shanks Straw Hat crew versus the redhair Pirates fighting Shanks will be a huge milestone for Luffy on his quest to reach the one piece their connection aside Shanks is currently the only member of the original yonos left and just recently he destroyed eustus kid and his whole crew you could say that Shanks is Goldie Rogers direct Heir he's a guy who used to fight the world's greatest swordsman Dracula mihawk for fun he's also the pirate who is able to end a war just by showing up he's not the sort of over-the-top ridiculous bad guy that the straw hats usually fight against but that just makes him even scarier as a matchup Luffy and his crew have no shortage of major enemies that could make this last leg of their Adventure really challenging Blackbeard Akainu IMU the list goes on but honestly there are plenty of other characters who want to take those villains on Kobe and sword will have their sights set on Blackbeard since GARP has been captured cross Guild is actively hunting Marines with their very own bounty system the Revolutionary Army is already preparing to fight against God's Knights and the world government but if Luffy wants to become the pirate king Shanks is the one guy he absolutely needs to fight himself Shanks is everything Luffy wanted to be as a pirate now that they're at the end of the quest Shanks has gone from Luffy's Idol to being his rival they're good friends but they had the same goal and there could only be one pirate king reaching the end of this journey means surpassing Shanks one way or another that's going to happen but how well Shanks is Luffy's inspiration mentor and counterpart any kind of contest between them is bound to be oneon-one the two bearers of Rogers will battling to see who gets to claim the ultimate treasure but what about their crew mat mates we actually have some pretty solid matchups Zoro is the first mate of the straw hats and Ben Beckman is the first mate of the red hair Beckman prefers a rifle to a sword but he's used to fighting with it in hand to hand plus he's quick this guy is fast enough to react to an oncoming light speed attacker then we've got lucky roaches we haven't seen him fight much but we know he is very quick with a pistol and he is the chef of their crew that puts him down as sanji's counterpart now we have opponents for all three members of the monster Trio and we don't have to stop there the most direct connection of all is Yas whoo's father he's a marksman just like his son and was personally recruited by Shanks very early in the crew's life it would be the perfect end of series challenge for usapp lime juice fits the pattern too we've reached the Lesser known members of the crew but this guy can move through the air and is supposed to fight with an electricity charged staff sounds like a fitting opponent for Nami it would be nice to see another solo fight of hers next up it's Bon punch another lesser known crew Mage but we have his role pretty firmly established he is the cruise musician so he'd be going up against Brooke he even has his own Animal Friend monster the monkey is considered a senior member of the redhair Pirates he can understand human speech and even give orders he's got to be the counterpart to Chopper right well maybe not because the red hair Pirates also have their own doctor hongo he's pretty cool too able to take apart his opponent's weapons so which one would Chopper be up against well it gets a bit weirder these matchups become less direct the further we go we've also got building snake a flashy guy known for his juggling two sword style gab another officer is known for being able to Roar blades from his mouth you could argue that they both sound like fitting opponents for Zoro so that gives us three fights for Zoro two for Chopper one each for Luffy Sanji Usopp Nami and Brooke and none for Robin jinbe or Frankie that doesn't seem right sure it's it's fun to match crew members up like this but whatever goes down between the two Crews is going to get a lot more complicated but there is a way that these two crews could battle that gives everyone a chance to contribute even the ones who aren't as strong directly a Davey back fight for anyone who might have forgotten the Davy back fight was introduced in the long ring longland Arc it's a way for pirates to compete without fighting they play a series of games against each other with the winner taking members of the other crew this could let us get a around the uneven crew matchup a dayback fight lets each crew pick participants for each game we could have the less combat ready Fighters take a backseat in this contest keeping the focus on the more significant ones like Usopp versus yaso it could keep things light and friendly after so many intense arcs like wano and Egghead it would be a nice break before the crew finally gets closer to laugh tail a Dy back fight can vary in length depending on how many coins the Pirates toss into the water at the start of the event and and what games the crews agree to for now let's go with the same setup as the contests against the foxy Pirates three rounds donut race groggy ring and combat the donut race would absolutely be Frankie's chance to shine building a boat very quickly and having to sail it around the island would be light work for him it's also probably going to be where Usopp and yasa get to compete weapon used to interfere with the opposing team is absolutely allowed so a pair of skilled snipers trying to hit the opposing boat would be fair These Are Pirate games after all the groggy ring is the game most likely not to come back this was an event the foxy Pirates picked because the groggy monster should have been able to easily win as it stands it doesn't really favor either side so no one's going to be pushing for it it's way more likely that we'll get a musical contest Bon punch and monster leading the red hair band because film red is only considered partially Cannon we could even get a Utah appearance Brook would need to take the lead and try to get a bunch of the straw hats ready to perform as a ban that may not go very well no disrespect to the soul King but no one else in the crew ever came off as that musically gifted if there's a contest that straw hats would lose as a group it is probably this one if we do keep the groggy ring the straw hats would likely put a different team in this time no one wants to risk Sanji or Zoro arguing again even if they manag to pull through in the end jinbe would likely be a more stable choice he's big and tough but his better at playing well with others Robin would be a perfect second player for it her devil fruit Powers would be perfect for cashing the ball and grabbing the opposing player whenever they try to hide the straw hats would just need a third person to be the ball someone small who can run pretty fast Chopper would be a good fit especially with defense point then finally we have the combat Shanks versus Luffy the big highlight event there is no way this ends up as wacky as Luffy's fight with foxy they might keep it light but both both men will be going all out anything less would be disrespectful there's a lot of reason for Luffy and Shanks to agree to a d back fight it's a smooth way to resolve the conflict between them it'll prove that they're both great Pirates it could even allow Shanks to join Luffy on the final part of his voyage if these straw hats win him after missing it all those years ago it would be nice for Shanks to finally get to see laugh tale for himself but there's a problem with this whole idea is Shanks willing to do that a DAV back fight requires both captains to agree and Shanks may have mixed feelings about this he cares about Luffy he wants the new era to be a thing but Shanks outright claim to Ben Beckman that they're going to be the ones to claim the one piece red hair isn't just Luffy's Father Figure he is a pirate too it would be an insult to Luffy to just let him claim the prize and it's something that likely favors the straw hats more than the redhair Pirates Shanks and his crew are very successful but they're all traditional Pirates Luffy's nak are weird eccentric and have a much wider skill set than your typical pirate crew what regular Carpenter is going to outdo Frankie What pirate Chef who had to make do with what they could get is going to rival sanji's cooking Shanks cares a great deal about the next generation of pirates he was disgusted by green ball trying to assassinate Luffy and his friends right after their fight against kaido but that won't stop red hair from fighting the Next Generation when he has to kid and his crew were just as much of a part of the Next Generation as Luffy and Shanks did not hesitate to take them down with overwhelming Force partially to defend his Fleet and friends but also to secure his path to the one piece you can blame it on survival of the fittest and a lack of plot armor on kids's end so don't be like useless mid And subscribe to plot armor before the video ends if shank really is that focused on getting the one piece himself Luffy could be crushed too even if the straw hats and redhair crew meet as friends sooner or later they're going to end up in the exact same situation as the kid pirates biting Shanks for a shot at reaching laugh tail this is a tougher fight to call both the central Crews have a whole Fleet of potential backups but let's focus on the battle between the main crew of the red force and the Thousand Sunny this would play more like a regular fight Zoro would get a chance to go up against all those redhair Swordsmen with their different fighting styles Ben Beckman would just be the final boss for him Roes and yasa go up against Sanji and Uso the straw hats who aren't so much into combat might be able to focus more on sailing the sunny keeping them afloat while the fighting continues they might not be out for blood but these are two Crews who both want their Captain to become the pirate king it won't just be Luffy and Shanks who are going all out to win this fight the real question is how far Shanks is willing to go for the one piece he was upset when Roger came back from laugh tale this clearly matters to him if he really is willing to do anything and pull no punches to try and secure his own path to become pirate king he's got one more card to play one that Luffy won't see coming Shanks has an inside line to the world government he can take personal meetings with the five Elders if he really wanted to play dirty he could set up an ambush for the straw hats even if Luffy and his friends break through it that would be enough to give Shanks and his crew a massive head start the fight could end up being a Chase with both bold pirate Crews racing each other to find the treasure at the end of the line what could be a better final test for the pirate king than that whatever the case at the very least we know that challenging Luffy at the very end has been shank's plan all along even an arm was a small price to pay for such a serious gamble to be clear it's not like Shanks has been orchestrating Luffy's entire life or anything I mean he's not Isen Shanks has the most advanced version of future sight hockey we have ever seen But Luffy is the warrior of Liberation a literal symbol of freedom and unpredictability I don't believe that his Ultimate Clash against Luffy will be the the result of many calculated steps Shanks has mostly taken a hands-off approach and has very rarely intervened Shanks using Wi-Fi hockey to make the tree Admiral water his own soil was stone cold but after Luffy star guned admiral kizaru so hard that he decided to open up a McDonald's franchise does anyone still think that greenbull ever posed a real threat here I mean Luffy and his top goons were just chilling when the newest Admiral was causing trouble and I know wano's protectors needed to prove themselves capable with the presence of a yonko to save them only to have another yonko show up to promote his new movie that time it wasn't really necessary for shank to get involved he just felt like it and when he dissolved the conflict at Marine Ford Luffy was hardly the headliner of that event Shanks has put his faith in Luffy but his hand is still on his weapon after Decades of waiting Shanks finally decides to go after the one piece and that's because Luffy is finally strong enough to compete with him for the title of pirate king main character privilege aside who do you
