How I Sleep In My FJ Cruiser | FJ Cruiser Car Camping

how's it going everyone welcome back to another video i am currently heading out of reno and we are heading back into the woods this evening i'm gonna be heading down to sonora pass which is just north of yosemite hopefully i can find a nice campground and get some nice food cooked up yeah we're gonna hit the road here and make our way down a little bit further south first stop of the day gotta pick up a few things a man's gotta eat it is a toasty one up here in northern nevada today not complaining but it's definitely warm that'll do gotta have the nightly chocolate bar all right well we're stocked up got things for the next couple of nights so should be good to go and the worst part about getting groceries is putting them away especially when you live in your car oh well all right all right well we're stocked up and i got an apple it is toasty good thing is we're gonna be heading up in the mountains here i got about an hour and a half drive left ahead of me like i said i'm still in about up weather should be a lot better in terms of temperature um it's beautiful today as you can see but it is a toasty one so we're gonna get going hopefully i can find a nice spot to get hunkered down for the night out to steve and uh should be a good night so got stocked up on groceries for the next few nights all right let's get a move on i made it i am on sonora pass but it's pretty busy there's literally cars lined up everywhere and really the first turnoff that i took it was packed i took another one full and then i found this little spot there's people pretty close to me but i mean i can't really complain it's it's a beautiful grassy area here and uh i'm gonna call it home for the night but i am starving it's about 6 30. it's nice and cool up here and i'm gonna get dinner going tonight we're gonna make some uh barbecue chicken sandwiches if you didn't watch the last video go check it out leo and i made some barbecue chicken thighs so i have some barbecue sauce left over so i figured why not let's uh let's do it and as you saw i picked up a chicken breast at the store and uh we're gonna get them cooked up so let's do it all right here's our chicken what i'm gonna do is get that going be using uh just three seasonings so we have montreal steak this stuff is amazing on anything especially steak obviously we have garlic salt and some black pepper now i'm going to cook all these so we're going to start with black pepper some garlic salt montreal steak we're gonna get these guys in now these are pretty thick they are going to take quite a while to cook so as the chicken's cooking i figured i'd show you guys kind of the sight here uh so the main road is literally right there there's quite a few cars that come by again i'm on sonora pass right now in california but there's this nice green grass area and it is beautiful it's a beautiful evening i got the uh the bad boy propped up right here and we got dinner got one in the back setting up for a nice evening i'm pretty tired so probably just get dinner cooked up and see what we can do after all right these have been cooking for a few seconds actually a few minutes i should say but i'm going to flip them just so i can get the other side seasoned so as i was expecting these were way too thick so i cut them in half and the process is getting a lot easier and it's not going to be burned fully so we're looking good and i think we're almost done this bad boy is done and ready to go so i don't want to waste i don't want to do any dishes really so i'm using kind of this chicken bag so we have our chicken breast right there and my bun is just normal bread you can just do different things with bread so i figured why not just get the usual bread and put a little barbecue on there kind of a lot but i'm also trying to get rid of this and let's give this a guy a go cheers and pull but it's delicious oh and i almost forgot i also got some seasonal blend fruit this little cup at walmart so that'll be a good little mix in with the sandwich gotta get your fruits in well i'm going to enjoy this guys i'll get stuff cleaned up and then i might do a little exploring walk around this area see what i can find it's beautiful so let's see what's up next all right well dishes are done dinner was great i managed to put three sandwiches down so that was uh that was much needed so anyway i'm gonna get ready for bed i haven't yet shown the process yet of me setting this bed up so i want to show you guys that and maybe sometime down the road i will give you guys a full tour of my setup but for now i'm going to get this bed set up before it gets too dark then we might go around walk around a little bit and see what this place has to offer but again the sun is going down but it's a beautiful night so uh yeah let's get this thing set up i'll show you guys how it's done all right so this is basically my extension so i am about five eight unfortunately but hey what can you do so in order for me to sleep fully laid out i guess i have this extension and basically all i get i grab my little holder and that's it set to go so i'll put my pillow back and we'll extend the mattress here and it's ready to go for the night you all right that is set up this is kind of around where i'm staying my car is right over the other side of the rocks there but you can see the road and then all the way down there you can see those see those mountains so really to get up here you have to go straight uphill and you get here and this is kind of a little hidden ledge here and someone clearly had a fire at some point up here or stayed here but it's really cool the cliffs are beautiful it's a gorgeous night it doesn't get much better than this then as we turn the corner you can see the fj over there and that's kind of my own little lawn it's pretty crazy how there's literally grass growing here and over there and it's it's a perfect spot to camp out for a night or two and enjoy the scenery well i think it's about that time got a normal hershey's bar tonight for those of you guys that don't know why i eat a hershey's bar pretty much every night when i'm camping i shouldn't say every night but most nights uh go check out my first video on this channel and i can explain it to you there this is a great way to end the day off cheers if you guys are out camping or just sitting at home whatever you're doing maybe get a hershey's bar and eat it with me why not by the way the mosquitoes are kind of getting bad now where i'm from in the midwest and south dakota we got some fat mosquitoes like they're on steroids or something because the mosquitoes here are very tiny but they're starting to come out and this is really the first night i've noticed it so if that's not a sign of summer i don't know what is what a day all right guys i am basically ready for bed it's still there's a little sunlight out it's uh what time is it it's 8 14 but i'm gonna go to bed and i will see you guys in the morning good night well good morning it is breakfast time i'm just going to be doing the usual bread and some peanut butter i've kind of just been relaxing this morning it's about 10 o'clock i've been reading uh just finding a way to pass the time i think i'm gonna camp out here again tonight yeah we're gonna get some breakfast down so i slept great last night it was perfect temperature and this it was incredibly clear out so you can see every star out there and overall it was a great night well guys i'm gonna call the video off here thank you so much for watching i
