what's up guys rosette production here with another how I shoot hip hop and rap music videos or just how I shoot music videos whatever flies last video I mean it's going to have more by the time I drop this video but has over 30,000 views which is like pretty good for my channel and like over 400 comments last time I checked and I've just gotten so much positive feedback great to see my youtube channel growing and yeah I'm just happy to bring you guys these little a lot of vlogs and take you along on some shoots we're shooting today for a new client of mine his name is Munna and he's a really talented hip-hop artist who we actually went over the video treatment like yesterday over like a quick phone call and then like couple texts back and forth but we pretty much got the treatment down we know what we're gonna do we're going to be shooting today which is on a Friday and then we're also going to get some last scenes on a Sunday I think right now since we got some daylight we're gonna be meeting up at 6 o'clock so in about an hour so he knows the shots he wants to get he just has to explain them to me in person last video where it was all performance scenes and I was just going and getting b-roll footage like while they were vibing or whatever to the song this is actually gonna be a lot of like plan b-roll I'm gonna show you guys how I get my b-roll footage a lot of questions last video of like all what settings did you use or especially this question of how I focus while in manual while I'm cutting in and out so I'm going to explain that because we're going to have a performance scene I think and then we'll shoot the scene and then I'll leave the scene over so I can show you guys but regardless we're going to go over it's probably going to be a little bit of a long video but I'm going to try to make this behind the scenes like just really down to the point hope you guys learn something from it like I say like I'm not like a professional but I think a lot of people just feel that music videos are so like hard to do in reality they really aren't like like sure the directing part takes a lot of like you really got to take the reins on that sometimes you know other than not if you're doing a point and shoot like my other video of how I shoot rap videos when I did that like bond pieces drop in video the behind the scenes I mean it's just a point shoot it's really not that difficult but you're probably going to see a lot of techniques pop up in this video as I explained in the last video probably going to see you when I meet up with Munna I've never met I've never met any of these guys before except for step baller you guys are going to see him again if you probably if you follow my channel you probably seen a music video with staff in there I'm stoked to meet up with it meet everybody and shoot the [ __ ] and start shooting a really sweet video so go meet up with muda right now and yeah so see you guys in a bit that's person to get back and forth welcome to the shelter this drill will help you if you felt insecure to be the star you always knew you are wait I think police is at lead a neighbor second shut up nope I get the neighbors second selling dope [Music] neighbors can sell it no all right guys so we're just might win for muna right here he's probably gonna pull up anytime soon so yeah bro add a sub good well you adults let's meet you sure yo thanks bro no matter the way judge on the vlog yeah yeah probably gonna vlog and sticks you know behind the scenes for that leg alright so here on the same and it's windy it's Paco but we got more people and I kind of thought we're going to stop this scene really quick just cuz they're sitting on train tracks oh no cops show up or something sold I'm gonna get right onto here that'd be dope yeah if it comes by yeah yeah all right to record their but I'm really over the footage that I just got I was shooting at 60 frames so 1080p not 4k for this because we actually has the train rolling by as everybody was just looking straight at the camera so it's going to be a really awesome opener for a b-roll yeah I got everybody looking at it now look at the next scene here alright so I got the song here on my phone I'm just gonna hook it up always bring a boat speaker or some sort of wireless speaker on set I always bring an aux port too because connecting bluetooth is annoying so keep that in mind always bring an aux cord and we're just going to get everybody to vibe to it so I'm going to be shooting 4k what's up bro you know my stepfather follow me on defeated loses there we go I'm pushing up seven bro the machines them as I said before we're just going to sit at 1080p actually so we can shoot at 60 frames so we're going to get a little more slow motion while we vibe to the song so we got the boat set off the 1835 with the meta bone speed booster on a gh4 camera with the ronin full-size around and nothing on an M and we're just going to get right to right now we all just got to look down we had a safety guy buy you that alright so as you can see we're not really set up anymore we got the kicked out of that little area so I think we got all the footage though I don't know some dude rolled up and told us to peace out so we're just checking over some footage here yeah I think we got everything that we need so it kind of came perfect timing but yeah give me a little bit of [ __ ] sometimes that's going to happen though sometimes you're going to shoot in places like a railroad which is actually kind of stupid it's going to make for dope shot but you could get in [ __ ] for shooting there so yeah but I think we got all the shots we need so it'll be dope so we got kicked out that spot we're going to go find another spot here I have something in mind we're going to shoot here in the cathedral area of our city shoot in front of the church here right in the middle it's going to make for some dope scenes we're gonna be shooting like right on the front steps I'm just going to grab the roan in here so these again are going to be shot in 24 frames at 4k and I'm also going to get some 60 frames 1080p for slow-motion I have a really cool way that I'm going to transition from that train area from the railroad tracks to here that I've just thought of on the spot that's the thing too when you're shooting like like this is kind of a point-and-shoot we're kind of just like like winging it for spots right now but you can think of stuff on the spot man like that there's nothing wrong with that and I'll show you exactly how I'm going to transition I'm going to transition from the railroad tracks to here I'm gonna have muna he's holding his white umbrella he's gonna have it pointed forward and I'm gonna be patting back with the ghost and he's going to bring it up and that's how we're going to transition onto these steps so I think it's going to look really sweet and I'm just going to set everything up here and I'll be right back guys I forget the road set up here with the 11 or 18 to 35 magatsum 1080p shot as well as in 4k shot most on 24 frames Instagram so get paid to it [Music] as you saw I kind of tilted the Ronen upside down if you've ever run in there any type of gimbal you can literally face it towards you and you just flip it right upside down this is just so you can kind of get the gimbal a little higher up so you're not kind of I don't know kind of hurts your arms if you try to hold just have yeah oh boy upgrade so you can flip it yeah but it's just a lot easier to kind of maneuver the gimbal so but yeah it looks really good so it seemed to really like that shot I think it looks really build by sharp end 60 frames shoot an instant like geez and now it's 60 frames so yeah also didn't mention another temperature holding your gimbal inverted like this or whatever um since it's kind of hard to switch your settings I just tossed me one of the shoulders or one of the handlebars right here and then I allows me to kind of focus or do any of my [ __ ] here so yeah it's just a little tip if you have an inverted so yeah it nobody never let us to study would interact on the path yeah many people opposed to any foot so I'm just going to grab some b-roll the church like I explained in my other video some of the graph of all 60 frames shots for all or I'll make 60 K in 4k or 60 frames in 4k it just has some cool shots willing to talk to the church and like the stairs and stuff for before that they when they're actually up there so I'm kind of thinking in my head already of some transitions that I can do and I'll probably talk some pull or Internet at it if I come up with them f actually publish any of that stuff but yeah we're going to grab some 60 frames up right now [Music] all right so we just finished up b-roll shots here we got lots of 4k 1080p and I'll lay those shots over probably couldn't see me I was off to the edge there she's gotten some other shots but I'll lay all the b-roll that I got even if you're under expose a little bit you can add a lot to it or just just spice it up or just exposed to a little more so yeah we're going to actually get to this next beam it's going to be kind of a kidnapping scene so it's going to be kind of action-packed but yeah this was super successful here we got lots of really awesome shots really stoked to show you guys this behind the scenes video I'm really excited to edit it all but yeah we're going to get to next thing here in the pocket run it off my camera tripod and everything and we're going to roll out to this next scene so yeah scene I guess there's a mate next step peace no I'm just walking around it's all getting so good to do anything the race Digga you'll see [ __ ] rich [ __ ] be over alright guys so for this next scene it's going to be a kidnapping scene we got an LED light set up here on the lawn I just write an extension cord to one of the hoses and then we got u-haul truck here that the artist paid for so that's what he's going to get kidnapped in and it's gonna be kind of a scene where him and his buddy are working on this car and then people pull up on them and kidnap them so I'm going to show you how I get that b-roll and yell get right to it alright so we just did 1k we're going to try it again just because it's starting to rain so we're going to try to get it really quick here one really good the first time but it never hurts to have a second tape oh [ __ ] a six man how about a [ __ ] assessment nose got nothing huh Oh God the Saudis law okay here's a guy quick knock when the nacho Lavar see you guys oh my god but I'm human but I was older I think [ __ ] that oh I think oh this is beautiful [ __ ] you fat ladies like goes alcohol from the car yeah I'm seeing your leg through I'm sorry late from - you don't focus on these two on these - yeah okay okay yeah no cutback and that copy is there any choice once more here my settings that I'm shooting on June 24 K just because we're shooting really low right here and shooting at one point opportunity fifty shutter speeds and about a thousand ISO usually like to sit eight hundred but we're shooting to like D so I'm probably going to use the low light lot and I would go from there so we're going to get one more shot here and then we should be good [ __ ] kinda me - miss Nanami fully all guys I'm Emily Pablo yeah move done for you we just played these LED lights or balls with some red bulbs that just pick them off at Canadian Tire it gives kind of a different vibe here so we're going to do a performance scene here so that means that the artists can be singing to the song and do that completely over and then we're also going to do an acting scene here too with b-roll so I'm going to set up both legs walk camera and everything it should be should we get to go so I got this stuff here called Atmos to your aerosol so it's just like a face smoke so we're going to good choice one so good that so you're gonna call I go yeah great I'll just finish up that scene it looks super stick I think that actually might be one of my best music video scenes that I've ever I'll put together like this is really dope I think we're just going to do a lot scene now it's kind of like an intro or has to do with the intro so we'll get right to that right now look they I switch let it go nothing I get for y'all okay do not do anything [Music] what's up guys so we are here with day two of shooting it is now Sunday we were shooting on Friday we're gonna do a parking lot scene kind of like an open wallet with this BMW x6 and just kind of parked up we're going to have Muno kind of the artist just rapping or doing couple performance scenes they're not they're probably some starts and nothing everything so yeah insects alright what's up guys so um see we kind of met up at this spot behind a school here I think it'll work good it's just kind of an empty lot that we're not going to get bothered this area right here too would be perfect like if we obviously don't get the school in it but if it's just like kind of like this area right here is really cool like this kind of corner place it just looks like you're in kind of like a grimy place but it's really like one of the biggest like schools here in the city save time I usually set up the ronan at my house and then I'll just toss them the front seat like so and then I just saved so much time from setting it up and taking out of the case and everything on set so we're going to be shooting this performance in here with the SUV using the ronan for this shot these are 18 to 35 sigma lines on the Ronin with the gh4 Meadowvale and speed booster and for this scene I'm going to be kind of like semi circling around them from a ways away because I'm going to be fully zoomed in at 35 millimetres at 35 millimetres when you're fully zoomed in on any camera and you're kind of panning or something in a semi-circle the whole background of the object that you're shooting is going to move fast so it's going to give a kind of a cool like natural effect with the camera I'm using an ND filter because I want to be shooting at 1.8 aperture and 125 shutter speed just so we can get natural movement but a quick movement behind the car and 200 ISO so we can really get some great detail on sinal ID so yeah we're going to start shooting right now alright guys so we're just going to grab some quick b-roll right now so shooting at 1080p in HD so 1080p 50 frames we rinsed all this stuff down to post calmly I'll lay some stuff over an actual video alright guys so we grab build up b-roll so let's switch back to 4k now 24 frames when you get a couple performance scenes now for this scene I'm literally going to be doing like a semicircle around the proud new know when you performs when you sing right now I'm going to be sitting at 2.8 aperture 125 shutter speed and I'm about a vote neutral exposure maybe one stop under but that's kind of okay because I'm shooting instead of like D and at 200 ISO so I'm going to be a fair ways away fully zoomed in at 35 no just like I explained before why I'm shooting in 35 no all the way zoomed in and yeah we'll get to these shots now what [Music] all right so just finish that up I'm gonna redo it again the exact same thing play from the beginning till the end all this time I'm going to be sitting about five aperture 125 shutter speed with an ND filter and I'm going to be kind of darting like in and out and I'm going to do that kind of sequence I did in the last video or come in come on the outside I'll show you all a footage over right now after I show you some footage of me actually grabbing the shots so I'll get ready to air right now [Music] [Applause] everything I can talk my hello team I will give my god I know [Music] [Music] our people live oh that part with big exciting alright so one other thing it didn't mention this video but I mentioned my last video of how issues like rap videos and stuff is get a lot of environment shot I don't know if none of your other Bureau is working out for that particular scene and you just want to cut to something really quick environmental shots are great especially if you're shooting somewhere where you can peek the Sun a little bit or pose the Sun so I'm probably going to go describe a quick shot just because the clouds are kind of like hiding the Sun a bit makes her really cool like b-roll shot so keep that in mind all the time and also always shooting your surroundings it's C channeling link fence with barbed wire shoots barbed wire and 60 frames slow-mo it and there's just lots of really easy stuff you can do so I'm probably gonna go grab that because again too much footage is better than not enough footage so we'll go do that right now [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] last performance seen of this location here so Ronin again ND filter shooting at five opera 50 shutter speed exposures just new exposures just neutral Santa like D already get right to it be talking about you guys ready yeah yeah we thought so so alright so Jake else came through here is an artist I worked with we shot a music video just went on some audio to finish up my debut love you daddy got me one give me slowly so nice you'll check me out at JK JK e yeah that's my job you know let's mother [ __ ] all your mother boxes inside this guy's it's magical tuck Ron I'm not a big brother break okay where's kids do people see it they're broken soon see ya see make you fly you got some money for GI oh I guess we got everything set up here and we're going to describe the murals inside be your old 1080p so you wants to do things that you trying to make everything kind of slow so I put t-ball oh yeah I don't think your phone you keep up on TV well you know that's counter I prefer this scene we switch over 24 frames 4k could soon be performin see everybody's gonna be kind of frozen all the extras are gonna be frozen in the background Luna is gonna be performing this song probably gonna be sitting at like 50 shutter speed 1.1 aperture I can get down that low because the meta bone speed booster and kind of a bit of a high ISO like 1400 ISO so yeah we're going to get right to it right now [Music] [Music] it's frozen stay frozen yeah I give them stay frozen that's how we're gonna end it stay frozen they're frozen stay prison yeah again then stay frozen that's how we're gonna end it stay frozen stay frozen perfect perfect my [ __ ] hammer I'm on camera that's me Magus daddy's me [ __ ] if I ran maker I'm on video man oh [ __ ] so what you saying [ __ ] man I see my rookies not my name god this [ __ ] is called beads you know before more focused eyewear and bling-bling over here they'd be wearing this [ __ ] in Africa for thousands of years it's a sign of status that's a million dollar [ __ ] so we got the last scene here just finishing off the h4 on the Sigma 18 to 35 we're going to be cranked down to one point one aperture and probably 50 shutter speed it's a little bit of a highlight so we've got a spotlight sitting here and we're going to get a shot of just looking through the front window I'm using a Manfrotto monopod here but I'll work for this shot rather than a tripod just so I can really kind of lean the camera in so we're going to go do that right now [Music] my Road near the Gaggia your bank what's up what's up Jimmy the nice job just you know something to rob bro well [ __ ] hell I made one up watch it yeah it's gonna stop bro [ __ ] yeah bro all right man
