I am going to laminate 3 pieces trying to orient the grain as best as I can Here you see the grain orientation As a decorative touch I'm going to glue some black veneers The headstock It's going to have a 10º inclination the next task is to fit the truss rod Here I am drilling the truss rod access with an 8mm drill bit Since pine it's not a very strong wood, I am going to reinforce the neck with 2 carbon fiber bars I am going to glue them with epoxy resin Now I have to eliminate with the band saw all the unnecessary wood This battered piece of olive wood is what I am going to use as fingerboard I am going to fill the cracks and gaps with black epoxy resin. The scale of the instrument is 25 ". The material that I am going to use for the fingerboard inlays is going to be Orange burl To match the fingerboard, I'm going to use olive wood as a headstock veneer With the Safe-T-Planer I'm thicknessing the headstock Now I can glue the fingerboard The back of the headstock will receive 2 decorative veneers: one black and the other purple heart On the router table I'll flush the neck with the finger board The part of the heel must be made by hand with a plane Here I'm routing the binding rabbet The next task is to sand the 12 "radius of the fingerboard. Now it's time to glue the bindings The side dot markers will consist of a 4mm brass tube filled with a 2mm abalone shelll dot I'm going to finish the fingerboard with 5 coats of Tru Oil The headstock logo it's made of abalone shell also Now I can carve the neck For this neck I'm going to use stainless steel frets Now that I have a neck i can start with the body The shape it's like a PRS guitar with the template attached I'm going to rout the contour and the front cavities With the dremel I can rout the slot for the 5 way switch I've selected the most quartersawn pallet board to make the control cavities in this way I will have the greatest stability and they will not deform I'm going to carve de belly contour with hand tools The cover cavities are going to be secured with neodymium magnets With the nº 7 plane I'm cutting the neck angle Now I can rout the neck pocket Here I'm routing the carved top limit and the binding rabbet I am going to carve the top only using hand tools The next step is to glue the binding Now, with the binding, with the sander and a cabinet scraper I can refine the top On the router table I'm rounding over the back edges Now I can glue the neck Now it's time to sand for many hours Since I'm going to stain only the top, I have to seal this place I'm going to lacquer only the front of the guitar. The back I'ts going to recieve a coat of Rubio Monocoat Here I'm wet sanding the lacquer prior to polish it Our recycled guitar needs a set of humbuckers I will try to improve this tremolo flattening the block and the bridge base to improve the contact I've sanded through the protecting coat of the bridge so I need to solve this problem to avoid rusting Now it's the bone nut turn To make the thing most premium I'm going to make a knob for the tremolo arm I'm making of of olive wood to match the fingerboard and headstock electronics are simple, consits of a 5 way selector P Megaswitch and a volume pot instead of potentiometer tone carries a 3 positions miniswitch that selects between neutral and 2 coiled wire emulations of different lengths As a final touch I am going to set a 5mm opal in a silver tubing. which will be inlayd in the body.
