How I gave Suzanne human skin in Blender

[Music] hello I can't use bad words in the first seconds of the video YouTube will demonetize me so I can't properly describe what body parts Suzanne looks like currently to create an intricate skin we will think about the different attributes skin can have pimples veins molds folds find out how to generate them procedurally and combine them let's start with basic color nothing too complicated a Musgrave texture with full details in zero Dimension set to multi-fractal gives you this use a mix Shader and Google is skin tone hex code the other color I made brighter since the following steps will all slightly darken the skin anyways I also use the same musk graph to put some detail into the roughness but I kept it at around 0.5 quick cleanup for the skin bumpiness I used two types of Warren oil distance to edge for these tiny microphones and the standard F1 euclidean voronoid dialed in with a color RAM for those tiny hair follicle dimple things using smooth minimum and maximum notes a color ramps had to ease and the advanced tactic of just playing around I kinda managed to smooth out these kind of skin follicle fold things proper 3D artists know exactly what skin type appears where but I'm a big dum dum so I just randomized them with the noise texture bonus tip if you use the normal coordinate for your noise it looks more deliberate as it will naturally flow around your mesh I used to Vector math nodes that are absolute to ensure the noise looks mirrored on Suzanne some more tweaking and cleaning up I used another color ramp to isolate the center of those follicles and give them red spots I have a pretty decent collection of human skin I referenced for this material but you can find ideas on the internet also there are two pretty good ways to create veins I will show both we use a noise texture to display some texture coordinates like this gets feed it into a Musgrave set to Rich multi-fractal I color ramped it like this to flip the color and make these veins relatively thin now I plug it into the mix Vector of an RGB note set it to multiply and choose a lilac bright color it's almost white the darker or more saturated gets the more visible it will be and I want it very subtle now into another bigger distorted texture coordinate I will plug in a voronoi set to distance to Edge again flip and dial it with a color ramp again multiply a lilac bluish color onto our skin the these veins should really bulge out so I will mix them slightly into the bump map with another mix RGB I try to avoid using multiple bump notes they really seem to impact on performance speaking of performance I actually know a third way to create a couple of bulging Lanes but you're not old enough to learn about this type of stuff yet liver spots just another color on voronoi again I displace the texture coordinate with the noise again I multiply the color onto it this time a more reddish brownish color look at yourself for reference if you got some of these boys I also mixed them a bit into the bump map when we think of skin we think of pink red brown or orange but not so often about violet or yellow but those are common too I made another Musgrave with those colors and also multiplied them onto everything just slightly we don't want Suzanne to look like the wife of a police officer you can use ambient occlusion to naturally discolor some parts of your model also try checking the inside checkbox and see what combination of inside or inverting color lamps gives the best result I read the ears and eyelids a bit but what you do is up to you finally we need to talk about subsurface scattering in Cycles which I think looks a lot better you only need a tiny bit something like 0.05 to 0.1 if you overdo it it will start looking waxy and weird as a final sweet touch I mixed in a less extreme scattering based on the veins I just used the large vein texture as a mix Factor here and now they appear to block the light that falls through the model and the final cleanup ah isn't that nice now for my question of the video those who like to call out mummy or daddy during sex is the fantasy that you are sleeping with your parents or do you imagine yourself being intimate with your own child have a great day dear blender community
