hey guys and welcome to recipe for disaster if you like management tycoon games you're gonna love this it's all about managing a restaurant um it's really good i've been having a ball big shout out to casito games for sponsoring this series and i tell you what if you watch this you like this game it's released today released into early access today if you want to buy it you could buy on my store that let's go and play this because this is fun i i've been i've been playing this so much it is so much fun uh let's start a new game we're going to play the campaign a chef's take i've already played a few of these i couldn't stop myself i was loving it so much uh we're going to start off with sloppy joes a few months ago you landed your first part-time job flipping burgers at sloppy joe's in the center of town keen to impress you've secretly been staying behind after hours to work on on a special sauce recipe for the restaurant's famous volcano burger i think we better install um extra large restrooms uh yesterday you decided to slip some of your experimental sauce into a customer's order and guess what they loved it great right well it turns out this particular customer is a famous content creator and they're hoarder followers and they're flocking to the restaurant to get a piece of the action the manager hasn't showed up to work today and is clearly panicking so now it's up to you to get the rest of the team organized and deal with this sudden influx of hungry customers so we start off with um i'm going to call it dollars uh 5 500 uh we start with a starting popularity of 55 which is which is pretty good this is this is a nice easy introduction uh win conditions have five seated tables at the same time make 150 uh income from food in a single day serve eight tables uh and you get a bonus if you sell five dishes at seventy dollars or more also lose conditions if your popularity drop drops below 30 percent you're out oh ut out of the game right so here is our restaurant and it's um it's a bit all over the place at the moment um we've got some trash here we'll we'll get rid of that trash uh we've got like we've got right three tables these are storage shelves these should be in the kitchen so let's let's get them moved let's um pop that over there pop that one over there and this one will flip around and pop there nice okay now at the um the cooking appliances of which there are are many uh we've got a grill and a deep fryer which is all we need for this um i'd like them a bit further forward now a way that you can create yourself some extra wall space is just to pop a wall like right in the middle of the place like this um then we can can grab the grill pop that there grab the fryer put that there now big tip big tip fires break out on a regular basis because um basically your cooks aren't that very like they're just terrible when they come when it comes to fire they will set fire to your restaurant a good two or three times a day so fire extinguishers is a big thing um i recommend having at least two like you kind of want one fire extinguisher for each cook you've got in the kitchen so that they can they can get together and grab a fire extinguisher age and put fires out more quickly i'm actually going to put three because because my staff tend to tend to really suck right um so that's the kitchen now um let's have a look at our menu first of all so we've got uh we've got the mega sloppy which is um which is just a burger with some um ground beef and cumin and we've got the volcano burger uh burger bun garlic ground beef and what else is butter smoked bacon oh god it's that sounds good doesn't it we've got the joe and fries and we've got the cosmic banana right the volcano burger this is the one that we want to play around with i think so we're going to edit this and these are the instructions for making a volcano burger so um in the grill we're going to take a burger burn garlic ground beef and then and then grill it and then in the deep fryer we're going to take smoked bacon butter and that's it smoked bacon and butter and deep fry that okay and then we plate it up right we are going to change this in this this thing this is going to be volcano burger and and lava fries i think that sounds kind of cool right volcano but so we're going to add let's see it's going to miss we'll we'll throw some chili powder into the uh into the into the burger into the ground beef uh and we'll also throw in a bit of tex-mex seasoning i think so be nice and hot and spicy sounds good sounds good for a volcano burger and then now the way you set these up from scratch is you just right click and choose what what thing you want to you want to use to prepare it and then you throw your ingredients in it's as simple as that very easy and then over here we'll get let's say vegetables we want um we want potato fries yes that'll do we'll throw the potato fries in there uh no thank you potato fries there we go so we're gonna have um bacon fries but they're gonna be lava fries so obviously we want some chili in there so we'll get some chili powder in there um but what's gonna provide like the lava element wow ice cream obviously it's kind of obvious isn't it picture don't you think you like ice cream on your fries don't you oh yeah he doesn't yeah obviously so a little bit of a little bit of ice cream chili ice cream fries with bacon i i kind of like that idea like actually i kind of do like that i'm going to cook some if we look at our current rating of 55 it's telling us that that's going to result in five uh an average an average of five customers per hour and we're going to get 800 and uh sorry we it recommends an 830 markup on your on your dishes that you're serving so what that means is we go into here um this thing's costing us 11 to make so we could crank this up to like 88 um but you know what since we only need to sell something at 70 um we'll sell it at 70 that sounds sounds reasonable to me okay fine so this this we could sell this for 80 but we'll crank it up to like maybe 69 uh this one yeah same thing we could get this up to like 80 odd dollars but we'll we'll have a snigger and mate that's 69 as well now the cosmic banana this cost us four dollars to make so um what are four eights 32 yeah 32 so i don't know maybe we'll set this up to like 25 25 bucks sounds good um having got that sorted out we then got to think about the ingredients okay so let's have a look at our food storage we we've got four ingredients that we've added that we haven't got in stock okay and then so it's now saying okay fine those are now those are now there you can order them if you want what we want to say to our supplier is we want to we want to keep a minimum of i'm just going to put 10 of everything in stockings i keep 10 of everything in stock it's it's like a reasonable plan there we go 10 of everything but if we look over here so we've got it tells us we've got 140 things in dry storage at the moment and we're adding 110 well that's 250 and we've only got 150 capacity at the moment that's not so good and then refrigerated storage capacity we're adding 70 to 156 which is like 226. and we've only got storage for 80. so we need to add some some extra storage so let's go back into oh build mode that's handy um i'm going to put in a fridge an extra fridge uh over there and i think we're gonna need another one so i'll put another fridge there and we'll get an extra couple of storage shelves which let's see let's maybe start at that end and have done that there we go still got more room to put stuff in if we wanted to cool uh and now if we go back and have a look at our food storage and uh let's see that's 250 we've got 250 and that's fine so we can store everything that we're going to order in now we can turn our attention to the restaurant now if we look over here we need to have five seated tables at the same time which tells you we're going to need five tables it's kind of kind of obvious now a little tip here i suggest um that you focus on one table first get rid of the others and i'll show you for why um so this this table over here i'm actually going to get rid of this table get rid of that table and i'm going to go and sort my staff out first before i sort out my tables you'll see why right we cut we have our current staff so we've got um douglas wagner who is a workaholic now you'd think that's good it's actually not that great they do work faster overall but they cut their breaks short before they fully replenish their stamina i'll show you how the stamina works um let's say you're kind of pretty meh but you do love cleaning douglas might end up being here cleaner although let's see wayne sergio he's he's he's five out of five on uh on the frying up but also five out of five on the uh on the cleaning what i'm looking for really is somebody to be front of house to serve the customers all of these people are rubbish um so let's say if we've got anybody good you are a five on serving two on charisma quite expensive though quite expensive i'm guessing most of these will be about 250 an hour yeah two dollars to 250 oh you're expensive because he's got good skills as their skills go up they get more expensive yeah you're about 250. and skye we don't have to pay sky because why would you let's face it why would you you just wouldn't would you no um richard a grant wants to work here apparently very nice should bring in a few extra customers um he's having fun i've got to say i'm kind of tempted and also loves cleaning so that's actually a good thing so i'm gonna hire you even though you're expensive i'm going to hire you because i think it's going to be worth it you're going to be um you're going to be running front of house i think yeah um and i guess i will yeah i'll live with the rest i'll live with the rest i'm going to go to this table when i'm not in build mode so we're going to open up pause the game um i'm going to go to here and i'm going to set who's going to serve at this table now you can you can set up to three people prioritized as to who's going to serve this table we're going to say that um let's say richard e grant you know i need to change his name when he shows up i'm going to change his name to richard lee grant um so uh richard grant is going to be on this table and he's going to be backed up by i guess well douglas wagner's the next best hmm yeah go on so we'll put we'll put douglas on there but what i'm going to do now is i'm going to go back into build mode and i'm going to copy this type i'm going to duplicate this table and it duplicates the table and the chairs which is very nice i do like that so i'll have one there one there apparently i can't put one there and i'm not sure why um so we'll put another one i think maybe you know what we'll put one there we'll put one there and you know what i think i'm gonna get rid of this one yeah i'm gonna get rid of this one yeah get rid of you okay so we've got our five tables now we've got two restrooms here um but they're not particularly good in any way shape or form so i think what we're going to do i'm going to move this window i think i'm going to move this window around this side and then i'm going to get rid of that wall i'm going to put put the other walls back in which i do by going to structural and walking wall and then i'm going to have the wall coming out one further so what was there we're gonna have the wall coming out there i think like that um now there are two toilets in here now if we left it like that people would get very upset they would start saying things like um um people were watching me while i was doing my business um because because two people can use it at the same time which is not it's not what you want is it you go for a meal no so what we'll do is we'll we'll pop a wall in between them um two segments long and then we'll pop a wall in front like that and then if we go down to uh restrooms we can get stall doors which we can put on there you do have to have a wall going across there and then you put the store doors on uh and now we've got two toilets hooray in that nice little cosy space which is very good and then if we flip it around a bit and we'll pop in um we'll pop in i think probably probably two things yeah i wanna pop in two things and then um decoration we can get a couple of nice mirrors we'll use this one and pop a couple of nice mirrors in there now if i if i click on this little button over here we get the ambience overlay and you'll see that this is now very green and it's because i've put these um these decorations in and it looks very nice now apparently in here you can see over here it looks pretty blooming awful so what we'll do is um i think we'll just have this as a single just a single bathroom and we'll keep it fairly big um i'll throw in a mirror and you can see it's a little bit less red now it's going more orangey we'll throw in restrooms we'll throw in oh let's use a different thing we use this thing i think maybe yeah flip it around the right way we'll pop that in there see it's less red now and what else can we do decoration wise we're a bit limited on this first one in terms of decorations we've got no paintings or anything so i think blah blah maybe just throw a little a little plant a little plant in there just makes it a little bit nicer yeah i'm thinking this is this is a fairly posh work placey type venue so i think we'll have um we'll have a bit of a tv on the wall oh see makes it a bit green good and we'll uh we'll throw in a couple of wall shelves uh either side making it a bit greener and what else we're going to throw on the wall we can throw a couple of um nice couple of round mirrors maybe actually [Music] maybe we'll have a couple of big mirrors okay that's starting to make things a little bit better we'll take some uh table vases we'll plop those on the tables oh and it's making it greener again which is nice we'll we'll flip this around um we are a bit limited in terms of what we've got available let's throw a couple of uh round mirrors over there okay we've we've got the place fairly green now i think people people will be fairly happy there is one other thing that we can do to improve the ambiance and that's lighting um we do need to be careful how much we spend because if you go negative at the end of any day you're bankrupt and you're out out of the game so let's go with see i think we'll go with the ceiling line number two now now i'm going to go with number six all right kind of like number six and if we put those over the top then oh we are well into the green yes people are going to like this let's just have a quick look at uh at our staff so douglas now it's a good idea to keep a regular check on how they're being paid compared with what is a fair salary for them because if you don't pay them enough they will get upset and also if um if they're prone to stress and we'll talk about stress in a minute uh if they're prone to stress try paying them a little bit more because they'll be um it'll de-stress them if they think they're being paid like overpaid for for what they're doing uh so at the moment everybody should be being paid their fair wage yeah everybody's being paid their fair wage now that's all fine uh do i want anybody else i don't think i do no i don't think i do so all of our tables are being looked after what we want to do now to close that down is set up some some cleaning next so we're going to set up some some clean areas so what i'm going to do i don't think it needs to be too fussy to be honest so what i'm going to do is i'm going to set up a clear cleaning area who's going to do this well wayne sergio is the best at it by far um these two love it though so what we're going to do is we're going to set up wayne sergio and then we'll have him backed up by douglas and richard so in their spare time they can go and do a bit of a bit of cleaning around the place and you can break this down into separate areas but what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna expand that first air and just have the whole place covered in one cleaning area now here's a really good tip the threshold employees will only clean floors and objects in in this area if their cleanliness level is above sorry is below this threshold what i'm going to do you know what i i tell you what we'll leave it down at 25 and i'll show you how dirty the place gets like staggeringly quickly and then we'll crank it up to what i think it should be i think the sweet spot is like 75 so that's we will do that in a bit let's let things run on right so the guys are going to come to work but what are they going to do well we need to assign people to their jobs now we've already got the table sorted out we've got the cleaning sorted out we need people to actually cook some food so the grill is going to be manned by me apparently um we'll back that up with uh douglas this one the deep fryer is going to be well wayne said yeah that's by far the best so's richard um pause for a second now you know what i'm gonna do it i'm gonna do it and again i'm gonna be backed up by douglas i don't care if the food's rubbish we're over charging for it anyway it doesn't matter they're eating ice cream and chili favor and sake if they'll eat that they really don't care about the quality of their food do they right so our first guests have arrived hooray there was much rejoicing so here comes um who's this richard it's richard e grant i can i can change his name now so richard e grant is taking their order they're very impressed obviously having a major film star uh taking their order if you don't know who richard e grant is google it heaven's sake so the order is taken they take it to the kitchen and then um skye is getting to work he's frying up the chocolate what have they ordered so look they've ordered um we've got three mega sloppies we've got a joe and fries and somebody waiting at the moment um i don't know what's going on going on there seriously i have no idea what's going into this at all it's probably absolutely disgusting based on what we've seen so far um okay so skye has cooked his dish now over here i'll pause for a second cause i'll show you this um so it tells you whether they do good good bad or indifferent with their job um now because skye's got a skill of one he's not doing very good he's performed very poorly but to be honest even when you've got a skill of five you can still perform poorly um it's yeah it does lead to lots of fires if you tend to cook poorly which is a little bit of a problem but we'll see so the food has been prepared doing they're doing more stuff here here comes douglas with the with the next bit i think nice he's he's he's not sure he's not sure what he wants to do do i want to fry again no i'll give it to the customer it's fine and that gets taken over gets given to the customer there you go throws it down on the table looks like a kebab but she's eating it she's brave this woman she's very brave okay douglas is cooking again very badly right we our restaurant is full good lord now we've only got richard e grant at the moment um on the tables because douglas is cooking now let's have a look at shelly shelley doesn't like serving i actually think we need to hire another person to work front of house um let's see benjamin fox's um three charisma and two serving so that's not too go on i think we'll hire benjamin he's an animal lover oh he loves animals cooking mate ingredients will result in a loss of mind he's not gonna be cooking so we should be okay actually yeah 350 is a little bit expensive but i'm gonna hire him anyway okay so what we'll do is we'll go around the tables and instead of douglas we'll have oh i've got to wait for him to show up here we go um who are we putting in who did we just hire benjamin wasn't it right benjamin you're gonna be um you're gonna be working the tables yeah so benjamin benjamin and that one and the last table bum okay all done okay go right what shelly what are you doing i don't think you're actually doing anything at the moment are you i don't think she's doing anything yeah i haven't given her any kind of job at all so i tell you what shelley um she's she's fairly cheap she doesn't like serving she's not good at cleaning oh i know i know what we can do with shelley hang on a second shelley um yeah you're fired get out throw your filthy stuff out in the street there we go all right uh we should be able to run things at the moment with five people without without too much trouble so i mentioned stamina earlier right you see this this um this kind of what beige thing that's filling up behind sky at the moment what happens is if you look at if you look at sky he's currently resting his stamina has dropped below the threshold for him to go and take a rest when he when his stamina gets down like every action that they take uses up stamina so when it gets to a certain level he'll go and take a break he'll go outside they've got a little spot usually that they go to oh he's coming back now he was taking a break out here and then um after he after he's had his break and he gets his stamina back he goes back in and goes to work it's all pretty reasonable isn't it yeah sounds good that i think pretty sure that light isn't completely that's looking completely the wrong place oh no they're no they're they're in the right place i don't know they they look in the right place but i don't think they are but you know what it's fine it doesn't actually matter as long as they're increasing the uh the ambiance in the restaurant it's all good okay so how are we doing well how do we know how we're doing well if we look down here this if we click on this it tells us people's reviews now we started off at what 55 percent so we've already gone up a percent um mega sloppy had an average price this place looks amazing four star review uh mega sloppy was just okay richard e grant was nice to me four star review see you get film stars working there not a problem uh now here's a thing none of my favorite dishes are served here i thought they had grilled pork ribs in the menu mega sloppy was just okay only a three star review um what if they if there's something that they like that um that you haven't got on the menu they will recommend that you add it to the menu um so here we've got add the recipe now you can just it's only a recommendation you don't have to if you don't want to uh but grilled pork ribs oh yes please picture you have pork ribs oh yeah yeah one of your favorite things in the world isn't it barbecue ribs right um so yes we'll um we'll bang that on the menu okay but it says if i if i can get rid of this it says um enhance it to uh to get greater value so we're already up to 58 percent we're we're advancing up towards three and a half stars which is staggering and you can see that our um our price markup is going up which is staggeringly good news how are we doing in terms of our goals um we've got three or five tables seated we've already cracked this in fact we've already quickly cracked that because we've got we've got three or five at the moment we've already had five tables uh occupied we've served four already uh make 150 we've already made 509 today which is pretty impressive i have to say um sell five dishes at 70 or more we've already sold one so that's good um let's look at this something that we've just added to the menu the uh the grilled pork ribs well it's just one ingredient that doesn't seem right does it let's let's um let's make this disgusting how about now we want this um a picture likes this stuff um tex mexico so you definitely want some barbecue in there um how else can we kind of impress our customers um i'm thinking maybe some honey a bit of honey to sweeten it um instead of molasses you know just a bit of a bit of a bit of variety uh should we make it a little bit spicy let's make it a little bit spicy so um grilled pork oh my god ribs with extra chili i want you know what can you add the same ingredient twice oh you can't that's a shame i would have had just like the ribs and like four lots of chili powder um but you know what we could throw in some a bit of paprika yeah i'll do okay we haven't got any paprika uh let's save that and we'll go to food storage and we will we'll get some paprika coming in and we've got room for that yeah that's excellent okay good good good good good um i've been performing staggeringly badly but people love it it's kind of like my youtube career hey what are you laughing at what are you laughing at stop it all right so um let's speed things up a little bit now the one thing that you do have to be careful of is the people who work for you getting too stressed so as well as stamina they've also got a stress bar and all kinds of things can stress them out if you say if you if you if you're if you're making things and selling them too cheaply they'll get massively stressed out if they feel overcrowded they'll get stressed out um if i don't know if it's a tuesday and somebody walks in wearing a blue shirt they'll get stressed out they get stressed out for all kinds of reasons and you have to keep an eye on their thoughts um now keeping the place clean is is kind of a big deal if the place gets dirty they won't like it and as you can see the place is starting to get a little bit grubby and if i crank this up you'll see the place starts to get pretty filthy like every time um they use the bathroom oh well there you go we've done it hooray continue playing for a bit um every time they use the bathroom they create 10 dirt right so it only takes a few people to use the bathroom the bathroom's filthy now because i've got somebody dedicated to the cleaning it's not going too badly in fact we've got we've got several people dedicated to the cleaning and i've got a decent balance of staff but it would be much better if um if i went into the cleaning you guys going to the cleaning and take a look at this area and set the threshold up to like 75 now who's doing much of the cleaning wayne sergio okay well let's keep an eye on wayne sergio where is he he's there so if we keep an eye on him now he's gonna go and he's gonna be cleaning everything like non-stop now because if you can see the dirt then it's over 25 dirty so he's just on top of everything now in fact they're all jumping on it and keeping the place nice and clean which is awesome so let's have a look at the um some look at this oh okay say customers are getting impatient see anything that affects the running of the of the restaurant um will stress them out um and the place bursting into flames that stresses them out as well i'm gonna i'm gonna run it on a bit because it'll only be a matter of time oh here we go told you it's only a matter of time before sky storm sets the place of light now look see because we've got three fire extinguishers they'll put that fire out very quickly if they'd only got one fire extinguisher it would have taken three times as long so fire extinguishers can't recommend that enough so if we um if we have a sky now because we got onto it and we got it look i i cooked it so poorly i set the place on fire this is very similar to how um picture perfect cooks hey we have a rule um that picture perfect is not allowed in the kitchen on her own because she will cut off her hands and burn the house down that's that's generally the rule isn't it now we've got a level up hooray this cleaning skill of richard e grant increased to three so if we if we have a look at he gets a little and i love everything is very very obvious and me being you know essentially oblivious to most things i really appreciate that you know you get you get an audible alert this pops up you get an icon on there avatar so we can just go in there this automatically pops up and then you choose um a level up skill so um now things are pretty darn good at the moment we we've we're not stressed and the reason we're not stressed is that we're running the restaurant really really efficiently if we were keeping people waiting and um they that the place wasn't popular they don't like working at an unpopular place you'll see in the next scenario how difficult that can be oh yeah oh yeah like i said this isn't like an easy introduction but anyway um let's say richard graham what do we want for your level up um second wind lowers stress during breaks that's very good stress tolerant we'll we'll tolerate one extra breaking point before quicking before quitting um if their stress gets up to max they go they have a mental breakdown and do all kinds of things they'll lie on the floor weeping they'll run around driving everybody crazy and it's one of those chain reaction things because when one person gets stressed out it stresses everybody else out yeah but look they love it and they're getting de-stressed these are minus stress points because he loves working here he's been paid enough the place is clean the place is popular here we go end of day one it didn't even take me one day to finish this let me tell you the follow-up challenges are much much more difficult uh the place looks amazing place is clean sloppy joe an average price um the mega sloppy was tasty benjamin fox was rude that's not good uh benjamin fox served me incredibly fast served quickly richard e graham was nice to me served incorrectly says yeah and then you get the stuff that um is maybe not so good people oh the the volcano burger and lava price was bad the mega sloppy was disgusting i wish they had grilled pork yeah well we addressed that one so we won't have that problem again i had to wait a long time before benjamin fox served me so there you go so um that is uh that's the reviews for the day and you can see our popularity went up from 55 to 62 which is blooming awesome and if we have a look at the finances um we can see that well we spent a load on renovations but we actually made if you take that off we made a decent profit and then our staff i love this it gives you a really really simple presentation of what they spent their time on and in particular how much time they spent idle so that you know right are these people getting ridiculously overworked to the point where i need to hire more staff or you know are they like say benjamin benjamin's spending like 30 of his time idol so no no we're good we're the place isn't getting dirty so much that benjamin's getting uh getting stressed out um our cooks are fairly busy i don't think we need an extra one at the moment but it's something at that point they're only like 10 idle so yeah probably need to be a little bit careful maybe need to hire somebody else if things get busier and of course as we get more popular we'll get more busy mega sloppy 63 the cosmic vanilla banana we only only sold um well like one of those maybe um a couple of volcano burgers maybe two of those three of those something like that um but we are done so i tell you what if you want to see me uh move on to the to the next challenge which i gotta say is considerably tougher than this we start off with a very unpopular restaurant you you want to come back and say that trust me um then um if you want to say that you do come back for the next episode guys if you enjoyed this video maybe
