Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
What's even more depressing is that this is the guy who holds the record for being alive the longest at sea and being rescued.
It's entirely possible that somebody else survived at sea for longer than 438 days only to perish and never be found.
tl;dr: Mexican fishermen blown offshore after engine failure. One survived drinking rain water, turlte blood and urine, and eating birds, fish and possibly his companion. Drifted onto an inhabited Pacific island after a year, got sued back in Mexico for the companion thing.
RealLifeLore always makes great mealtime videos. Not too short nor too long, and interesting enough to get you to tune in but not so interesting to stay focused on it.
8:22 not 13:33
It's always funny seeing this story crop up, the guy is my mother's cousin and he became a celebrity for a bit back in her home town in El Salvador (where he's from). He was the pride of our family for a bit despite the cannibal accusations lol. :)
Can't wait for Scarlett Johansson to play him in the upcoming film they'll most likely do.
Reminds me of that mighty boosh episode
I'd kill myself if that was me
I'm surprised I'd never heard of RealLifeLore before this. Thanks a lot for sharing this video.
P.S: This sounds like a movie waiting to happen
