Houston Texas RV Resort Experience - S1:E03

welcome to glamping doodles this is the show where we take you around this great country of ours traveling by rv we give you a taste of what the cruising life is like and have some fun along the way so buckle up and come along for the ride as we go cruising around the usa by land welcome to the first you know real episode of glamping doodles where we're actually traveling around and taking a different place in this episode we are going from dallas down to houston and this is my first trip in this uh rv and i've not put gas any down to about just under a quarter of a tank and you always want to keep a quarter of a tank or more in your rv especially if you have a generator uh because that's where the cutoff is if you need to run your generator for any reason anything below a quarter of a tank it will not let your generator run so we're stopping here today which is one of the more famous places in uh the south i think is all they are is uh to get gas it is truly an amazing gas state it's way more than gas station it's like a it's like a mini mall and a gas station all in one they have a ton of pumps and uh let's see here we gotta oh i got my own lane uh they got a ton of pumps and they can they'll sell you everything from chairs to coolers to barbecue to whatever so if you're from the south you know what i'm talking about already we are going to bucky's currently in the middle of the summer here early summer and texas gas is 264 a gallon i don't even know how much this thing takes uh it's quarter tanks a little figured out but the bucky's if you haven't seen is absolutely massive i mean the it's got i don't know over 100 gas pumps and we'll take you inside here and get some goodies here in a second got more gas to do though [Music] well the pump automatically stopped at 100 putting about 38 gallons in i just checked the uh gauge and it is showing pretty full or like it's on full so i'm assuming it's pretty close i'm not going to bother redoing it but you know that's what you get for the gas prices going up if you can't fill up the tank because it's only authorized 100 bucks so this is kind of this is i mean it looks like a normal filling station right you got like i don't know seven or eight rows oh no this is just the rvs you got a bunch of like 100 more rows over here that is a lot of gas stations i wonder what size fuel tanks they have for like storage they probably have multiple fuel tanks they've got to to have all this gas for all these cars i mean you can really get anything here you're selling firewood grills like fire pits crazy [Music] i mean this place is like park shopping mall park park gas station or beer store park grocery store i mean there's anything you could want here there's rows and rows of it the place is busy although they have a lot of checkout counter so it goes pretty quick [Music] need some bucky's underwear they got it here i mean apparel barbecue anything you could watch dippin dots fudge you know uh beef all kinds of beef jerky anything this place is crazy it is definitely a texas treat all right so stocked up on just the essentials there you know a road trip you gotta have some uh sunflower seeds bottled water there you go keep on moving but uh i've only been driving for about uh you know 45 minutes so far so i got about another three hours down that we used to the north part of houston anyway it was a straight shot down 45 to houston [Music] it took a little longer than expected uh i was thinking it'd be four hours actually my gps before i left said three hours and 50 minutes uh rain really slowed things down though it's taken close to five hours uh because i think i left i left dallas just after 12 and it's 508 right now so but one minute away from the rv park this is fall brook rv resort i've never been uh it had good reviews i'll show i'll kind of link to the app i i use to find places down below offhand i can't remember the name of the app i'd love to look it up but uh it's got a little lake and i have to slip by or the slip i see that's the sailing tools talk the uh space i have is right there on the lake so we will be there shortly [Music] i pulled into the rv resort and then after checking in headed straight to my space [Music] the first thing i did was put down my hydraulic leveling jacks and then it was time for my slide outs all right got the rv all tucked in and ready to go and now i'm going to start setting up everything for the festivities say hello to mary hello everyone uh tell everybody where you're from what's going on oh my god i'm from louisiana originally met bobby in dallas yep now we're here in houston so uh we are gonna set stuff up and then we're gonna have a good day you ready yes all right [Music] after setting everything up it was time to kick back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings [Music] [Music] all right well cheers we got the camp all set up and what do you think oh it looks great cheers guys it's so cute i already had the first casualty of the rv this is the little i don't know the door lock thing it broke right there and so now the door will not stay closed unless we actually lock it from the inside the block from the outside does not help because that's locking the outside locks this not the deadbolt so now if we want to actually keep this door closed we've been using a little bungee cord right here like when we're here so it's bungee of clothes right but that's not ideal um won't close all the way so when we actually leave i have to go inside lock the deadbolt and go out through one of the cabin doors annoying but we are gonna go to the pool so uh it's nice it's supposed to be rainy today it looks like it's still might at some point but at least it's not hot [Music] maybe i can see [Music] was your time at the pool oh i thought it was great she's not used to the whole filming thing yet sorry she's doing well she's natural you look right on camera thanks anyway so how was your pool it was great we met a bunch of people yeah some talkers some definite talkers we had a good time uh now it is just raining cats and dogs uh in it i think it's gonna let up soon i don't know so as soon as it lets up we've already uh kind of got the burgers marinating and now chef bobby chef bobby that's right [Music] oh look at that raw onion on there stop it it's very good she's going to have excellent breath later yeah cheers cheers [Music] not bad thank you bobby the girl master do it again [Music] all right oh the fireworks are about to begin they're all around they're all around us yeah apparently there's a big fireworks display right here oh that might be them coming up right now [Music] all right had a fun time here down in houston at the uh fall brick rv resort uh pretty cool spot pro i mean i haven't seen too many rv resorts around here other than this but this one is definitely uh getting five stars for me i like it a lot i think maybe that's something i'll do in the future is kind of give everything a rating now it's time to put everything away you got to put the grill away put all this stuff away the carpet all that stuff got to roll in the slides empty the holding tanks i already did that hopefully get it done before the rain starts [Music] one thing i don't know maybe it's overkill or not but my cousin uh when i bought it from her recommended i do is every time i put the awning back up and zip tie these together uh that way there's no accidental deployment underway there we go that way well scissor open accidentally i mean probably not going to really stop anything but you never know i need to put my uh my uh leveling system first i got the jacks down so basically i just flip this thing forward and it lowers the front ones do the back ones i can feel it kind of leveling out all the red lights are off so now i know that all the jacks are up and uh i turn it off and before i go i'm just gonna go do a visual inspection real quick just to make sure it's all i mean whatever it doesn't hurt anything right [Music] and we're off it says 235 miles to dallas the waze says three hours and 22 minutes but uh i'm not going to be averaging 75 miles an hour and tell you that [Music] definitely slower than expected here with all this rain i mean it's just been raining most of the time slowing it down then about a four hour drive turned into five and a half or close to five and a half that rain just really slowed everything down 240 miles but made it back to dallas no problem a little bit slower than like hey guys if you're enjoying this
