want to turn the cameras off here in a moment back home the weather is winds out of the south three miles visibility light rain 5.5 to 2000 feet broken at 3,000 broken at 39 25 who could are climbing me painful I go down a little bit lower so a safes battery juice not if we can't get a I sensitive an approach video on the intrude portion and also going to come on I'll turn the cameras back on in route and I got a couple viewer mails to answer and a couple things to talk about very briefly we're coming off now we'll be back in a bit here and United 673 checking on three six zero we're up at altitude with Memphis Center right now see if I can like seven thirteen we're at three thick here let's show you a couple things here we've got pretty significant weather out there in front of us but as you can tell up the front camera were above it all that's one of the advantages of being a PI free plentiful three seven zero K dat okay thanks pretty big girl pretty significant buildups for this time of year front here 7:13 left usually that's kind of stuff you see in the summer but a couple things I've been short on videos for a little while because my airplanes been in for scheduled maintenance which took about three weeks and that was as I said scheduled and anticipated the most visible thing that you guys might see is my new sheepskin covered seats that my buddy Owen did for me out of sure flight in Coatesville Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia Owen is the guy that was my co-pilot on the return flight from Germany this summer Owens also got a lear 60 and an mu2 and a carpet cub but all that all the toys but so a couple facts I wanted to talk to everybody about real quick like get a lot of you were male our comments I try to answer most of them I can get the three men thinner now 10 or 15 a day so it's a little hard for me to answer everybody's but people that do have questions that I think might be interesting for everybody to know I do try to answer but there's a fuel I've been hold back on answering because they're relatively lengthy and I thought this would be a good venue for answering them Peter loved it 44 been watching my videos for a long time he commented on I think of my ILS landing bad weather ILS landing with the real strong crosswind that 41 that Center one three three point one to the auto pod the flight director was even struggling to kind of keep everything on path that's the case I said any comment about one of my comments which was reading back the height clearances which I know there's a lot of ATC guys that watch my videos so if you guys hear terminology that's not standard you know it looks like a lot of pilots watch this stuff so feel free to comment in the comment section at let me know if I'm saying something that's non-standard or if you're here and other people say things that are non-standard you can point it out and everybody can learn from it because ultimately that's really the purpose of these videos go find it within oh let me see three four Oh see pockets aviation fitting blank single pilot and abyss jet always seems like so much fun but yet some of the pilots I talk to you so they don't know I don't really like flying single pilot as they find it too stressful and we prefer to have a first officer with them do you enjoy flying on your own request did you gonna be because oh uh yeah I do enjoy flying my own it he puts on where I'm going if and who I've got on board here I'm trying work come out here if I have a lot of passengers on board particular if I got people who I don't fly with me regularly then it's nice to have somebody else who can kind of help share the piloting responsibilities that's quite helpful limit angle and also if I'm going into someplace relatively busy like intercontinental sometimes it's nice to have that help the biggest thing is that if I don't have help but I've got somebody on the right front seat the biggest thing that they could do and occasionally I'll I'll mention something to them is for them to be quiet so if I can hear what the controller is saying and I can concentrate on flying I don't know if most the time I edit it out just so I don't seem like a jerk but a lot of times they'll say okay I'm going to work on flying now and we can talk when we get on the ground so nothing wrong with that but yeah there's definitely times where a co-pilot is helpful I don't feel like I need one all the time but I'm not afraid to get one if I I need one it muscles times that I've got a co-pilot our flights that you guys don't see because I've got VIP so to speak on board and they probably would be all that crazy about me filming him Jeremy Roy a few months ago commented that he actually seems like he's relatively knowledgeable about aircraft he let me see 673 like 2011 he says that uh some of the put he's got from United other owners of premiers which is what this aircraft is when a drink will Roger is that correct parts enough time have been a problem I could tell you that four hundred fifty eight hours that I've flown this airplane the two and a half years that I've owned it would clear you get parts more uptime and reliability has not been an issue so I think the supports been pretty good it could probably be better I think the parts could be cheaper but overall I'm very pleased with it how much do I value the premiere one a upgrades the big the big ones for the premiere one a from a pilot standpoint are you get the file server for the avionics so you can pull the charts up on this screen on the one if it doesn't have the file server can't pull the charts up and also on the one a it has a brake modification that the brakes feel a little bit different they feel a little more natural there's no difference in performance between the 1a and the one brakes or the 1a the one airplane for that matter there's no performance difference at all and the 1a has a slightly different go interior cabin headliner basically and window shades so do I value the 1a upgrades I think they're important enough that if I had the money to buy a 1a I would buy a 1a over a1 but if I was operating a 1 only I'd be probably happy with that - let me see do it also says that 53 some people say that it's too much airplay wreaking fly the Beaupre singer pilot operation for special care paired to something we get our jets like the Mustang Eclipse the Phenom I think the premier is really in the same class as a Mustang eclipse or phenom 100 Memphis good afternoon United for three fights quite a bit more powerful and quite a bit higher performance in those aircraft format center right so I would say the airplane is in the same class as AC j2r phenom 300 to some extent it doesn't have nearly the range or payload capability that a phenom 300 has or cj4 or cj3 but it's similar performance to the scenery somewhat similar to the cj2 verdict a lot of guys fly those airplanes around single pilot so I don't think it's thinner well first of all how we talk bad one through there oh very smooth forefront here Jeremy goes on to say something but I'm here facts are just agree with report contact method um 25.4 that 25 for the complexity of performance of the airplane is proof by here about 35 a major factor in the brief but significant fatal accident history of the fleet and I would suggest to you that you need to go back and look at the stats I don't think it has a significant a toll-free 7 accident statistics a fatal accident history at all 39 point I think there's been five fatal accidents of the aircraft every one of them has been operator error significantly so shutting Mobile's off in the air when picking off with ice on the way 37 planning long on wet runway or right and going around after had to lift up deployed hitting something that was airborne are hitting something while they were airborne alway right 37 7 crashed uh so yeah I think it's a really safe airplane well look like we gotta go buy a team or plan regarding that I open I love that as all jet operators dr with go to flight training every year i got a flight so anyway but the way you're going to find that it's in a simulator people very good simulator the training is very realistic and quite the handle so how long do I stay safe and I fly relatively conservatively so don't do much night flying I ain't really well rested when I fly so I think that all factors it to it so anyways that was a pretty long way of answering a reader bail or 39 I'll flip the cameras back on as we're coming in for an approach into in Annapolis exactly well it looks like the weather is better than forecast so it's going to enough any to go thinner won t be of our approach and a home drunk but get the blood Suns going down I'll go ahead oh man - thing zero like everybody enjoyed my font or a nightlight video so run hair gonna have a lot of problems with my GoPro sleep not like the sink up to the Wi-Fi remote got all new batteries so that's help randomly turn off on a case a great when they work scattered temperature one six so pious Oh Indianapolis executives Airport win who won goooo at 70 visibility one after the temperature 1/6 Sophia to point 1/2 inch altimeter shoes 9 1 6 9 news Indianapolis cookie looks like Houston Indianapolis ends up being about forty-five minutes have pretty like 6.7 and divided or you can take 1901 what zero off of it the last number we have won 9-0 cut that in half if 95 one maybe plus 95 - 85 you can buy to convert two thousand pounds is 200 here flights out six five any senator and three Niner zero of my contact in an approach on one to one point one today 21 ones are cup my good day brooch premiere 3 9 0 off mic 16,000 across Haley at 11 with the weather and executives looking for official premiere 3 9 0 off mic in the approach clear direct executive airport expected vigil direct - exact circle fight Casey 38 87 turn right direct to a Brayton and joined the mayor's to a good day Andy Dallas Dallas Houston Houston Andy 2197 Indy departure radar contact climb and maintain one 3000 and had a good lunch in between all started afternoon coupla 2197 proceed direct to Hoosier join the Hoosiers through the park I already got all my descents Czech descent checks done short of dear claps like they go Creek 2454 in the approach to center maintain 1-0 thousand ten thousand expect the visual approach at Eagle Creek and when able you can proceed direct Eagle Creek premiere robot might get a Sunday at pilots discretion to maintain $8.00 okay PT to 8,000 Zerg off mic and we'll go there now nine minutes out basically ten thousand feet to lose a thousand feet a minute comet ison right p38 87 Chicago Senators request that beat a to 1-0 for you in AZ 3087 you can contact them that 1-1 to 0.9 or 7 o clock you later Southwest 2197 context Indy Center one-one-niner point five five talk to later and a black out the red cord light on the front of these GoPros hanging up their credit ac 1387 1 to 0.9 or 7 trees on the later model GoPros I think you can actually turn off videos I think you can turn and nice cloud skimming former zero buff Mike gonna maintain four thousand four thousand zerk offline uh home sweet home Indianapolis for the most part since 1975 but to school down at Fleming are you years away in the military coming back to Annapolis we're home and work is kind of make sense but as you've seen in my videos we like to get out about go places so fast here slow it down Eagle Creek 24:54 descent of maintain 4,000 and epremier Zerg off mic we got the field site with broad cancel switch on our premier drove off mic no no no drip traffic between you and the field I am or cats will eat for thieves walk we far will talk later alrighty you have a good evening sir go fine slide on in so you guys want bad hand flying skills second of traffic premier 3 9 0 off mic we are 12 to the South entering a left down when it won't runway 1 8 whatever he said oh it's uh oh you know I'll let you just cured flaps there'd be 200 knots 4 or less before I can put any flaps or gear out 2,500 that is a radar altimeter shoots a little radar beam out of the airplane gives me my height above the terrain gives you a shout-out at 2,500 feet see it right here across the bottom 20 50 so our altitude above the ground that is known as AGL and the optimator here reads msl in sea level so altitude above sea level versus above ground level why you see the disparity between the two executive traffic premier 3 9 0 off my left down we're up by 1/8 cannot say runway 1:8 today 200 knots decreasing first notch flaps start to bleed off speed pretty quickly here last click did not turn the lights off and just now got turned on here comes the gear quite a bit larger pattern that you might fly and say assistant 172 or Cirrus primarily due to the higher airspeed okay three green flaps or down we're good to go for landing second of traffic premieres argh off mic left pace 1-8 always nice to roll out on a base leg and look on a straight in final make sure nobody's coming 1,000 and second of traffic premieres are gone my final run my winning five hundred now the Mazie's at the field today are not working but you can see I have actually set the airplane up to do a visual approach so it's giving me a visual glide path right here there's quite helpful I always want some kind of guidance or an approach at night I really like to have something on board the airplane for guidance minimums minimums all the way to the end 5500 feet break very hard at all so let's take a look here from us one hour 51 minutes at 175 nautical miles 1860 on the fuel 1860 pounds of fuel so 186 plus half of that 94 here's me what to 80 80 gallons all right well thanks for riding along be able to free feel free to leave a comment always open to suggestions suggestions for improvement and I hope you enjoyed it
