HORROR RHYTHM GAME? | Stage Fright Playthrough

hello everybody in today's video i am so excited i was thinking of playing this on stream except that i decided to make a separate video on it because boy i want to sit through this experience myself so today we'll be playing a rhythm horror game yep you heard that right you probably seen the title it's a random horror game and it's called stage fright so let's look at the steam page first from the first glance we can tell that this is going to be great because the reviews are mostly negative the first thing that i noticed is that it costs money and that's an old boy ah man paying for a bad game not the greatest experience stage fright is a single player rhythm and horror game where you take the role of a piano prodigy who is overwhelmed by musical performance anxiety this anxiety manifests itself as a supernatural ghost girl the mysterious hannah who haunts your concerts to strain your ability and sanity so this game has been out for a while i think i've seen atheon play it but when i saw him play i immediately closed the video because i knew i wanted to play too ayton is another great channel you should really check him out too he's actually the person who inspired me to make a video about polling rates actually i'd read the reviews except that i think it's better if i just played through this nightmare myself made with unity oh boy okay unity isn't our engine by the way i'm really terrible with horror games so i am afraid there's no settings wait do they use the arrow keys and enter the select track below hit the button on your midi controller to bind the key to it a number should appear check octave if keys don't work wait how does this work okay i can use my wasd keys i think i binded my keys but i really can't tell okay so let's try the story maybe i should turn on the volume because i'm really not good with this horror sd thing amen what's happening i'm next don't worry about yesterday just play just play wait so so what are my keybinds i i what [Music] so not gonna lie this is actually kind of creepy okay so that's the henna person they were talking about okay at the very least i have passed the stage okay that was a really weak jump scare i hit 96 percent of notes i don't think that performance i had just now can't be considered good at all [Music] hey damon i noticed it's been a little tense between us you seemed pretty down after a performance maybe we should okay the the text is a bit off call me back because of they decide to use the zhou go text all right so there's more people watching now this is a very difficult way to play the game because of the way you read the two lanes moving different directions i can see how it can be a very interesting way to screw with your reading but it's just not great when you press two notes on the two lanes at the same time at the very least the notes in the middle are white in color which helps with reading that's what they do in 2dx oh so okay i'm pretty sure the mistakes are not by me these are just this is the game doing it [Music] in a reading game since it's really dumb how they make you miss [Music] okay [Music] why am i playing this game again i feel like i'm going to be jumpscared again i'm scroll i can't read up scroll with his bars i'm sure athen can he he's one of those monsters can re-up scroll with a bar skin how how see how how could oh i thought you'd be like osu be like okay this is actually pretty difficult with the text changing different colors i can't tell whether i'm doing well or not [Music] okay the violin tracks in the song really reminds me of her i'm really trying to understand who is this guy talking about in the game is he talking about hannah does he know hannah personally who's he talking about is he talking about another girl wait can i wait practicing exit just just skips through everything oh no i have to go through this all over again i thought i pressed replay instead of next song i finally managed to replay back to the point where i actually exit out of one thing i noticed in my second playthrough is that instead of saying how could you do this in the middle of screen it said please help me so that's something different okay now to the third stage remind me to never accidentally press exit ever again i hope you suffer i hope you suffer alright okay now there's more people i want to know what the judgment will know this game is chatting wise this game does all right i guess it's not great although that was the second half of the second song was chartered better than this i think it's hard to gauge how well this is charted because of the easy difficulty [Music] okay well now there's nobody at the theater okay that's cool isn't it a good thing when you're having performance society there's nobody in the rain the place yeah who's thinking there's no one there that's isn't that supposed to be a good thing okay this game managed to scare me um at the very least this it can be said that this game is quite horror and scary i know to most people who play horror games this is not terrifying at all but if it can scare me i think it's past my standards we could have kept working together if she wasn't so bad who's so bad who are you talking about is the person next to the guy hannah i have no clue what's happening in the story can i just even more people now they tell me what my keybinds are [Music] this is actually kind of hard though because reading this is impossible okay not impossible but it's so funky oh this actually sounds pretty good [Music] oh here comes the horror parts [Music] you know my screen right now actually has a legitimate flickering issue and i can't tell if it's my screen doing the occasional flicker or if it's the game hi hannah don't jump scare me i really do appreciate jumpscares okay we're back [Music] no i don't think this is all chatter if i put this in the six key chart i think the patterns wouldn't make much sense i think i think i think i'm not sure i know 60 player okay i think that's it the violin trainer oh so it looks like the background in this is randomized as in the end screens okay all right next please help me what was that okay so is there a final boss track because i heard that this game doesn't have that many songs oh wait i think there are seven songs in this game i wonder if the creator of this game like chartered all this himself okay but back to the lake side man is it 666 [Music] which i find is easy to tell how to press compared to having the lanes around am i dumb or something oh hey anna uh the tracks are back that sucks [Music] how many this is this was the fourth stage oh wait no this is the fifth stage was it oh finale okay is that any nyx are they playing songs now or is it a different song so it's all called finale is there anything else no i feel like this is the same thing over and over is it yeah it is it is okay let's see okay so i've been replaying the same thing okay so we have three more songs and arcade all right interesting background all right let's try this my name is damon wincott and i'll be playing a piece called sono cowa movement 2. that kind of shocked me all right let's play this so would i have different kind of jump scares in this so is it just arcade this is much louder [Music] like [Music] [Music] so no one like the charts are kind of resident sleeper [Music] so okay so that's it for the game i think to be honest i do like the art and the game can be quite creepy yeah that's it for stage fright it is spooky i think it concentrates a lot more on being atmospheric horror game than a written game so i wouldn't criticize it so much on the rhythm game aspect a proper like a competitive rune game wouldn't make you look like you missed unless it's an unranked mod chart or things like that this is meant to give you the feeling of how it's like to have anxiety uh stage fright basically to be honest i find the story a bit lacking is it's really interesting i like the effects i liked how it could have been it's actually a genuinely interesting concept except that what's happening the story it didn't really go anywhere it could have gone somewhere you know it could have been great oh man that wasn't a good five dollars to spend wait let me take a look at what athens said about it oh 18 was speed running it what the only time i recall horror being fused to written games well it's fused with horror because this game's called quality is horrifying oh he's trying to fail you can just feel everything time oh [ __ ] i hit oh i hit reset you can't there's a reset key on this with speedruns going on this game oh my god he actually submitted though this is so ridiculous wow what's he doing okay wait let's look for stage fright he didn't
