- 5000 Nits HDR Peak
Brightness, a variable aperture, a 180 megapixel Periscope
Telephoto Camera, and a huge 5600 mAh battery. This is the Honor Magic6 Pro. It's an absolute beast and I've partnered with Honor
to tell you all about it. Now the unboxing is
pretty straightforward. You get the device, there's another box with a sim card tool, some paperwork, and a USB Type-C cable. (gentle music) And here it is. I've got the black version here, but it's also available in an Epi Green, which has a ripple classic
leather designed to it. The black one here has a matte back and it kind of feels and looks velvety, thanks to its two-tone finish. We've got a symmetrical design and it's curved on all sides, so the left, the right,
the top, the bottom, and that includes both
the front and the back. Now that symmetry really
makes it quite comfortable to hold from all sides, and I kind of like the fact that your finger can naturally rest just below the camera bump. We've got an IP68 water
and dust resistant rating, and the Honor Magic6 Pro is
using a NanoCrystal Shield. This is going to give you
around a 30% improvement in drop resistance and it's going to give you around a 10% improvement
in shock resistance. As always, guys, I'm not
somebody who's going to go ahead and do some scratch and drop test on this, so I'm going to take Honor's word for it and let's talk a little
bit more about this display because it is truly stunning. Now whether you like a flat
display or a curved display comes down to your personal preference. But one thing I do have to say about the Honor Magic6 Pro is that because it curves on all sides, it looks very, very nice. Everything kind of just
melts towards the edges. We've got small symmetrical bezels. It measures 6.8 inches and it's a low power
LTPO eye comfort display. Because it's got LTPO technology, it can dynamically switch
between refresh rates to make things efficient. You've got a maximum of 120 hertz that makes everything very, very smooth. 100% DCI-P Color Gamut, 1600 Nits Global Peak Brightness, but up to a 5000 Nits
Partial HDR Peak Brightness. So if you are outdoors
in very bright sunlight and you're watching their HDR content, then this is really going to pop. And I believe this is the highest HDR peak brightness on any smartphone. We've got Dolby Vision and Honor has really tried to make this the best display for eye comfort. So this is a customizable
Circadian Night Display and this has the industry's
highest PWM Dimming Frequency. So that's 4320 hertz dynamic dimming. Now of course, experts would advise that you don't use your smartphone in bed because it will affect your sleep. But let's be honest, we all
still use our smartphones in bed and using the Honor Magic6 Pro
when it is dark is going to be a lot more comfortable
compared to many other devices. Now because of all of these features, this has the first Triple Eye care certification from TUV. We also have an In-Display
Fingerprint Scanner. But what's unique about
the Honor Magic6 Pro which you're not going to find
on many other Android devices, is that within that capsule
cutout here at the front, you get the 50 megapixel selfie camera, but you also get a 3D
Time of Flight sensor. This is going to give
you secure facial unlock. Now there's lots of other Android devices that do provide Face Unlock, but they only use the selfie camera, so this is not very secure. Having that dedicated
3D Time of Flight sensor will give you great depth
information for your photos, but also secure facial unlock. Now let's take a quick
look around the device. So things are very symmetrical. We have symmetrical stereo speakers, which sound absolutely great. There's one speaker on the
top and one at the bottom. At the bottom, we also
have a USB Type-C in-ports as well as the SIM card tray. Alongside that top speaker,
we also have an IR blaster, which you're not going to
find on many of the devices, Nothing on the left hand side. And on the right hand side, we have a power button as
well as the volume button. At the back we have a brand
new Falcon camera system. This consists of three
high resolution cameras. So we have a 50 megapixel
ultrawide camera, which also doubles up as a macro camera. There's a 50 megapixel primary camera, which has a 1/1.3-inch
Super Dynamic Falcon Camera H900 HDR sensor. What does that mean? Well, it means that you've got a 210% enhancement in dynamic range compared to the Honor
Magic5 Pro from last year. And you can see from the samples that even when I was shooting
directly into the sun, we still had excellent detail both in the shadow and
the highlight areas. Now, this primary camera
also has a variable aperture, so it can go from f1.4 to f2.0. Now you can manually
adjust this in Pro mode. When you are at f1.4, this is going to let in the most light, but it's going to give you more
of that natural depth of field. But there are times when
you don't necessarily want all of that depth of field. You want more of your subject in focus, especially when you're
shooting things up close. And for those situations that
f2.0 aperture is so useful. And then we have the big 180 megapixel periscope telephoto camera. This has a large 1/1.4-inch size sensor. Now this periscope telephoto camera does have an optical zoom of 2.5x. This can still produce great
results at 5x, even at 10x. Now it can extend all the way up to 100x, but this will mostly
be using digital Zoom. And you guys know how I feel about extended 100x zoom on smartphones. Yes, it's a nice to have, but you're not really going
to be getting crisp shots like you will be at around five or 10x. Now this is the industry's
first periscope telephoto camera with a wide f2.6 aperture, which means you'll be
able to get lots of light into that sensor even
when you're zoomed in. You can see from some samples here, it was pretty much pitch black outside and even when I was zoomed in, I could still get some usable shots. This also means that you're going to get a 10x shutter speed improvement. It's also going to give you natural Boca. And along with Honor's AI
Motion Sensing Capture, this will make it ideal
for capturing sports. Now, AI Motion Sensing Capture was one of my favorite features on the Honor Magic5 Pro last year. It makes capturing action so much easier. And with the Honor Magic6 Pro, Honor is using an AI network trained with over 8 million images and that includes 10
categories of mainstream sports such as volleyball, skateboarding, basketball, and many more. It's so easy to use this, you
can just enable this feature and then when you're
trying to capture action, when you just press the Shutter button, it's going to make sure you
capture the best moment. Right now let's talk
about the performance. So this is powered by
the latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This is going to give you
around a 30% improvement in CPU performance and up to a 25% increase
in GPU performance compared to last year. This is a tried and tested chip set, so whatever you throw
at the Honor Magic6 Pro, it's going to work absolutely fine and it's also going to allow you
to maintain higher frame rates with lower temperatures
when you are gaming. For the software we have Honor MagicOS 8.0 on has promised four years of OS updates and five years of security updates. And we've got lots of software features just to touch on a few. We've got AI Privacy Call. So this is going to
intelligently switch the volume based on your surrounding environment. This Magic Ring which allows you to effortlessly share
and synchronize materials a cross Honor devices. It also enables realtime sharing
of the smartphone's camera with Honor tablets and laptops. So you'll be able to
use the Honor Magic6 Pro as a webcam for other Honor devices. Now there's Magic Capsule
which will let you interact with the notification above for certain apps like the Stopwatch. I'm not going to say anything, I know what all of the
comments will be about this. And then we have the Magic
Portal, which uses AI to allow the smartphone
to understand users and provide more convenient interactions. Let me show you a few examples. So if you come across a product you like, you can just drag that image
directly into the eBay app and find similar products. If a friend sends you an address, you can just drag that
into the Google Maps app and it will navigate you to
the destination right away. And if you come across some
interesting info or content, you can directly keep it
in the Honor Notes app or share it with friends on Facebook. A few apps are supported right now, but many more third party apps will be supported in the future. Now for the battery, as mentioned at the start of this video, this has a massive 5600
Milliamp Hour battery. I've not been able to kill
this thing in one day. It goes on all day and then some. It's a second generation
silicon carbon battery and it can maintain charge for longer compared to other devices, especially when it comes
to very cold conditions. Now we're talking freezing conditions. I'm not sure how many of you guys live in very cold conditions. I'm here in the UK and
recently it has been like minus five degrees Celsius. So in those situations it'll be great to have the Honor Magic six Pro. Now that large battery can
be charged very quickly because this does support
80 watts of supercharging. That charger does not come
included out of the box in the UK as you saw at the start of this video. But you do get up to 66 watts of wireless supercharging as well. So if you're somebody like me who uses wireless charging
more than wired charging, then you'll be able to just
drop this on a fast wireless charger and also get very
fast wireless top-ups. And finally, for the price, I
actually don't have the price because Honor likes to
keep this quite secret up until the announcement,
which is going to be at NWC. I will drop the pricing details
in the description below as soon as I have it, as well as a link to more info
about the Honor Magic6 Pro. And that is the Honor Magic6 Pro. I think it's a real
flagship with some features that you're not going
to find on other devices like that 180 megapixel
periscope zoom camera, the insane HDR Peak
Brightness of 5000 Nits that variable aperture as well as that huge 5600 Milliamp Hour battery. What do you guys think
