(please turn on subtitles in CC) Let's start! This week Victor's sister and boyfriend moved to a hotel Was so busy, forgot we're in a new month haha Tomorrow is Valentine's Day Every Valentine's Day Victor gets me 2 things: flowers and coffee This week, we'll take you to some 'first date' spots around Hong Kong Sadly a lot of our favourite date spots no longer exist (Instagram Pier and a pho restaurant) But will show you some of the ones that are still around Valentine's Day candles These stickers are so cute We thought this week, we'd take you guys to our favourite first date spots Our favourite one is Instagram Pier but that has been indefinitely closed So let's go to the other ones! What I like about this spot is you can enjoy the Hong Kong skyline indoors And avoid being sweaty while looking cute (Not sponsored) but you can use the 'Hong Kong resident' offer if you live here And save... $90! The first time we did it together, we did the 'Family Combo' And said we had a kid... wasn't that awkward when we were dating I guess nobody wants to come here anymore for dates? I mean I thought it was cool back then But it's quite empty LOL Heading to the elevators to the observation deck Shibuya Sky you there? My ears be popping Going up to the 100th floor Here you get a 360 view of the city from above Highly recommend you check the weather before coming Since the observation deck is so high up, Visibility is really poor if it's very cloudy or foggy It's Chinese New Year and pretty empty This is so cute! I don't know what this snack is called but it's like a childhood favourite of ours It's like a little biscuit with some fake frosting on it And it comes in many colours They also have a coin pouch size too We're a little hungry so going for a quick bite at the mall downstairs Fairwood is a fast food chain that serves Hong Kong style food Our next date spot is a coffee shop! When we got there, we were a little confused because it used to be called 'Ethos' According to the barista the cafe recently changed hands The cafe is located really near Hong Kong University- so there's a lot of students here! The cafe is part of a wood furniture company located in Kwun Tong So you'll see a lot of those wood details in the interiors I was a little cold so this was a nice snack We used to bring our laptops here and work Our last date spot is nearby! As we walked closer to the Ferris Wheel we realized it was packed... Which probably means there's a long line Realized you need to share a cabin with others We decided to do this after the Lunar New Year holiday We wanted to end the night With a Ferris wheel ride which we did many years ago for our very first Valentine's Day together But the queue is too long and I just want to go home and have some dinner It's also worth going for sunset on a nice day! Tonight we're celebrating Cass' birthday here at The Regent This guy is turning another decade, so we're doing a big birthday dinner! Mortons, our go to celebratory steak restaurant, is closed for renovations After doing some research, I found this steakhouse at the Regent hotel so let's go try! They also have an unlimited salad bar that was really tempting *Victor sees the cocktail shrimp and says YES* As the sun sets, you can see the Avenue of Stars from the hotel This is so bougie: choose your own steak knife A variety of mustards and salts to choose from I booked a couple's massage at a spa nearby: Victor's sister went last week and recommended it: Post-massage mini mango sticky rice and tea Can't wait to go back to Thailand soon! By the time we emerged from the spa, The streets were pretty quiet We decided to stop by The Peninsula just to see the lanterns A slow walk to the Star Ferry Here's something very nostalgic: The Mister Softee ice cream truck It's still the Chinese New Year holiday And today we're going to go pick up Victor's suit Which is finally finished at the tailor And then also go to this new cafe that my friend recommended for their pastry and coffee But first, some local breakfast Canto-jazz buskers Welcome aboard the longest escalator in the world The streets are his runway Me: a tourist iykyk ;) There's a lot of restaurants that closed, but also a lot of new cafes My life is complete when I see a corgi This pastry shop is located right next to the escalator Copy and paste tool on the croissants There was a steady stream of customers popping in for coffee and croissants You can also get a coffee with your pastry for only $20 extra! The sidewalk is a great place for people watching We decided to do some work here so I got another coffee and cookie haha Also got some croissants for my parents! Lazy weekend vibes✨ I'm relieved we're moving past the pandemic And seeing tourists back at the OG spots My first time ever getting a photo/video here haha Let's pick up the suit Picking up the suit today He also brought his shoes to try it with Tonight we have dinner with friends This is my favourite pasta spot in Hong Kong I recommend getting the tasting menu (2 appetisers, 3 pastas, 2 desserts) The pasta is made fresh daily Everyone always orders their tiramisu Pici tiramisu is good, but mine is better Since it's Cass' birthday (week), he requested a homemade tiramisu We plan to watch the horse races in the evening and cut cake after Progress pics Letting it vibe for 8 hours to absorb the espresso and wine $10 entrance fee with your Octopus We've been living in Hong Kong for so long but this is our first time to the races If you're like me, and have no idea what's going on Just come here for the vibes and people watching *Me trying to fit in* Have no idea how to read this chart but cheered along too lol Some of the names of these horses were quite funny! We saw lots of older men had their pen and newspaper out Probably strategising their bets on the races Look who finally showed up: Can't let my trainer see this 🫣
