Valentine's Day falls under the Lunar New Year holiday this year I want to make some Valentine's Day cookies I saw this Christmas cookie recipe on Youtube that I want to try Now to come up with my designs I really want to make ribbon shaped butter cookies Very balletcore but perfect for Valentine's Day too If I can, I'll try to make a bear too The recipe makes 3 colours of dough I'll make white, pink and red Sprinkles <3 On to my favourite part: This is what happens when you're lazy and just pour straight from the bottle The pink is darker than I expected Second batch of dough: I made it more pastel pink I learned that it's best to pipe cookies on a silicone mat NOT parchment paper But eventually the dough warmed up in my hands so it came out easier Let's make teddy bears! Wow piping on a silicone mat is so much better! Trying to pipe ribbon cookies on silicone this time- so easy! If you're a baking noob like me, I recommend baking a tester first Some cookies turned brown so I reduced the temperature to 160C for 8 minutes only I tempered some (compound) chocolate to decorate the cookies I bought this gift box from Daiso If you're looking for a Valentine's Day gift, this is one you can do with friends They're not perfect but so cute haha Let's enjoy some cookies with an unboxing  The cookie is telling me to stop playing around I received a few CNY packages Many brands create their own 'red packets' This gift is from my favourite perfume brand: Byredo A tea set! Next is a package of red envelopes from Coach I just like the packaging to be honest haha Inside are red envelopes And lastly, a Lunar New Year hamper from Fortnum's Gonna explore a new spot in Hong Kong today Beans from Toronto! There's a temple in Tsuen Wan that's been on my bucket list for a while So today we're going to explore that area and also check out that temple! Riding the MTR all the way to the end of the subway line Tsuen Wan: land of many sky bridges A very old school bakery and cafe A very nostalgic vibe here We need to take a minibus to the monastery The newsstand is covered in decor If you want to ride a rollercoaster IRL, take the minibus Got dropped off in the middle of nowhere I don't feel like I'm in Hong Kong For a temple this size, I'm surprised it's so quiet There's also a beautiful garden tucked away in the back It looked like it was going to rain so we took a cab to a coffee shop A cute cafe popular with cyclists The cafe is also near by The Mills Decided to take a look since we haven't been since covid times A lot of the shops and cafes have changed since my last visit This lifestyle/stationary store caught my eye They also has a small room dedicated to Chinese New Year items A really cute vegetarian restaurant I'd like to try another day! I've been wanting to make this viral TikTok pasta forever I had it at my friend's house for dinner and liked how easy it was to make Tonight we're going to the night market at Temple street We heard you can get street food but it's more 'snack-y' haha So we'll eat dinner first before heading out Currently watching David Chang's 'Dinner Time Live' I really enjoy it! It's a pretty busy night Because it's Friday today But we are now on our way to Temple Street to try some street food It's a little ironic that we're promoting neon signs But we are also taking down a lot of them This row of street vendors is new None of the food seems really appealing to me right now, so I'm going to get some Mammy Pancake FAIL IT'S CLOSED Settled on some curry fishballs Would recommend this as a photo spot if you're passing by Nobody asked, but this is my collection of perfumes that I wear every day on rotation So I thought I'd share with you some of my favourites And why I have them! So from the left to the right: The first one, I got it in Seoul from a store called 'Non Fiction' I think it's pronounced 'gaiac'? But it's a very sweet floral scent A bit on the feminine side for me but on hot summer days, I use this a lot The next 2 are from 'Le Labo' The first one's called 'Gaiac 10' Also sold only in Tokyo It has more of a wooden scent and a very unique 'flavor' to the fragrance This one's called 'Another' It's my go-to, everyday scent More of an apple-y and citrusy scent As you can see, I used it pretty much a lot so I only have this much left The next one here is from 'Tamburins' It's a brand from Korea That we got also with the same one as Non Fiction This scent has a very smoky, wood scent to it And it's very unique I don't use it as much as as I do for the other ones But I do have it in my collection as well This one is from Jo Malone It's called the 'Cypress and Grapevine' Also says the word 'cologne intense' It's quite intense fragrance I don't use this one at all because I just like the bottle And I got it as a gift This one's from 'Aesop' It's called 'Hwyl' This one I love a lot because it's my first scent I ever got Since I started using perfumes And it has an ancient Japanese forest smell to it It's a very nice and unique fragrance The last scent here is from 'Malin + Goetz' It's called 'Leather' It has a sandalwood fragrance to it so I usually use it in the winter time This is actually a birthday gift a few years back from Sam As a gag birthday gift She surprised me with this first to hide my main birthday gift Which is the coffee machine that I have now Today I'll use 'Another' We're heading out to do a suit fitting If you guys have been following along for a while You know we were planning a wedding when Covid19 hit We ordered a suit but still no wedding haha Today is our first time seeing it in the color and fabric of choice Don't really know if it's worth planning a wedding still But at least Victor has a suit to wear to weddings (in general haha) The tailor said the first time Victor visited the shop "he was at his fattest" 😂 Since then he's lost 20lbs and needs to take the trousers in by 2 inches Making small adjustments to fit his new body haha Will have another fitting soon Hosting a Lunar New Year dinner at ours tonight! I'm making the Buvette chocolate mousse for dessert The flowers I ordered just arrived! I wanted to have some festive flowers for our Chinese New Year dinner tonight- So we asked Koey from Mes Studio to create us a few centrepieces She suggested to add these bows on the pussy willows and we think it turned out great We're doing a potluck dinner Ordered a whole roast pig Fried some homemade turnip cake With the sound of the coffee machine, friends chatting and jazz music playing in the background, My house feels like a real life coffee shop Time for dessert and board games
