hi I'm Kaylee and welcome to my channel today I thought I'd share with you how I organize all of our work for our home school year I've been homeschooling for about six years now and I've tried several different ways of organizing and this I started doing last year preparing my entire year at the beginning of the year and it made the year go by so much easier so what I do is I start with my teacher binder and I take out all of the schedules and answer keys out of all of our books and put them in a teacher binder so I have them all in one place so it's separated by subject I have the Bible here and any other material I might need such as their Bible verse log and then I'll have their answer keys flagged and then for like language lessons I have both kids in here so I have my daughter's first level for and flagged her answer key my son's schedule and then his level six answer key and I go through that for each subject so I have math science history geography and our writing curriculum so take those out and then I take out all of the student pages of the workbooks I divide them all by week so this is actually a stack of my nephews pages he is going to be doing Bible geography history science and writing with us so you won't have math pages in here but I would divide it out week one week two week three I just put all of their pages paper clip them together for the whole year then I have a hanging file folder thing and I put each week into here so this one actually has weeks ten to thirty six in it this is where I store the majority of it but it gets it's not actually gonna fit everything and it'll be really heavy whenever it's full so I have a smaller box that I will use nine weeks at a time I'll take nine weeks out use those and then I'll put those back and switch the next to the next nine weeks once we're done with those so I'll just take the work for week one and put it in my week one folder a lot of people will use folders for these and I started that at the beginning but I just didn't have enough folders and so I just went with paper clips and that has worked fine these have folders but in my big container I don't have folders and you can see this is my son's paperclip together that I already have in here so I will just put each week in and then on either Sunday night or Monday morning I can grab the week's papers out then normally what I do is like the Bible already says which day of the week but a lot of times on our other papers I will write like I would write Monday or whatever on the day of the week that we would do that page and Tuesday Wednesday and then I take all the Monday pages and I would put them on the front of my kids clipboards so they use these for their work each week the Monday's goes on the front and then the rest of the work for the week will go inside so this way each day they can just pull out Tuesdays work Wednesdays work and they have it all together they know everything that they need to do and so they can see how much work they have each day and that has worked a lot better for them than using a whole book they prefer to just see the amount of work they have for the week and I have done this before where I just took the worksheets out on a week-by-week basis and things like that and planned by the week but then if we'll get busy on the weekends and I don't get it done and then Monday comes around there works not ready and I got to go pull everything out and this has just worked better for me so then at the beginning of each week it's already ready I just have to pull it out and it did take a lot of work at the beginning I've been working on this for several days getting all of our workbooks torn apart and organized by week but it's really worth it so that my whole year runs really smoothly so after they're done with their work their work will go into binders last year I used one big binder for each kid like this but it got filled up really fast so this year for this binder this is going to be used for Bible language lessons history geography and science and we will probably have to empty it out a few times throughout the year because it will get a lot of pages in it and then he will have a separate binder or each kid will have a separate binder for writing so all of their writing stuff will go in here and this is my son's and he's going to be doing write shot and so I already printed off like the junior writers notebook so he'll have these pages in here that he can use and refer to and then I also did that a little bit with this binder so some of the Bible pages the hymns are already in here and he's got his book so the Bible pages in his language lessons and some report pages in a history timeline I just put in the front of those sections so that he can refer to those if needed and each kid is also going to have a separate math binder this year so that they can keep all of that work together and I go ahead and laminate any of the manipulatives or sheets that they would use repeatedly so they can just use a dry erase marker and use them over and over so those are and their charts are already in the front so that whenever their work tells them to to use one they can just come straight to their binder and it's already there and ready so that is how we are doing our school year it has worked really well for me if you have any questions about any specific part of it or you want to see anything in more detail just let me know in the comments and I'll try to do that thanks for watching
