oh okay all right there we go today it's it the the day is finally here i got a lot of good parts some questionable [Music] but i think we have pretty much all the parts that we need well first of all i think i 3d printed a container for it why because i couldn't find an appropriate box for it and i could also uh already in the cad model oh yeah the necessary holes are already cut and the motor mounts are in there too pretty convenient will make it waterproof when with the glass fiber these batteries are from maxams.com eight amp hours six cell batteries with 150 c rating i am thinking about putting two packs in series for one esc so it will be completely individual systems and one of these packs will be 8 amp hours 12 cells that's about 50 volts very nice batteries i have no doubt they will blow me out of the water speaking of blowing up the only questionable item on this table the electric speed controllers rated for 12 cells the aqua star water cool dec absolute trash you can't program it it's been a problem it's been a hassle i can't recommend the product and uh it might even blow up we'll see now the motors very very attractive motors is that weird 730 kv times 50 volts uh 000 something revolutions per minute pretty fast now here's the sherry on top of the sundae the drive yet units you can see it has the impeller and this will spin very quickly and pushing in water and pushing out water at significant speeds it has a little outlet for water cooling very nice and this is from someone called youngster yetz he's on youtube i will link his youtube channel in the description below you can order these handmade from him very nice wait wait mark has truly been the mvp in this equation i mean just look at this man's confidence okay wish me luck and then he pulls off and move like this so fast for that he has been helping me all through this build i can't give him a big thank you enough here is his email if you would like to purchase the jet drives transmitters we can control the speed of the motors and a very small receiver that goes in the box and i'll have this in a plastic bag or something to protect it from the water time to get started what do you say let's let's do it [Music] [Music] i got you the container for all the electronics is now complete i reinforced the bottom side with some carbon fiber i mean glass fiber very fancy not that fancy well why only the bottom side i hear you ask well it's going to be flush against the surfboard and we only need the resilience and the structural strength from uh from the bottom side i think the sides of the surfboard will keep everything nice and tight however i did put resin all around the container so it should be waterproof but i guess that's just one of the things we'll have to see [Music] yeah yeah yeah it's eight days later i've done some progress here's the jet drives that's looking very sharp here's where the water goes in for anyone who hasn't who hasn't figured that out i put in one of the motors and if you zoom in on that coupler you would be like what have simon been smoking today you guys remember the jet boat from last year you know the one that worked so well [Music] uh the main problem that i was having was vibrations and i'm using the exact same setup as i do on this jet board and so unsurprisingly i had a lot of problems with vibrations on this one too to join the motor and the drive shaft from the jet unit you need a coupler a coupler now joining the two shafts will reveal vibrations if not aligned properly now the coupler has a middle section a little red soft thingy and now we heat that over there and what i am going to do is interlock the coupler so the metal is touching the metal why does this work i have no idea that's a healthy [Applause] all right there we go what happens if i just drop it okay nothing all right both motors are in place they sound like a bag of nails when you fire them up end of statement now it's time to fix the second speed controller and solder on its connectors and that's gonna be pretty much it then we're just gonna do some epoxying reinforcement on the bottom and then we might go to the lake and do a little rev up and see uh just how well it goes [Music] water cooling coming up [Music] are we ready for the cut i believe we are okay that's impossible all right so this one [Music] whoa [Music] [Music] we hope you enjoyed this brief construction montage first of all i mounted the box with threaded rods one going here and one over here and they are clamped down with big washers on each side and that just to bring everything together and keep the box in place it's also glued so no water gets in and here are the two motors going to independent speed controllers the speed controllers are wide harnessed to the receiver right there with the bc to power and where is the battery it's over here so this is just to power the receiver that's it i just have one setup right now this is eight amp hours 12 cell that's going to this speed controller and i'm going to do the exact same on this side to this speed controller to protect the electronics i have a nice plexiglas sheet and now i think that just looks a lot cooler than keeping the electronics not visible so now you can see it now you can see the fire and between the boxes i just have a bunch of foam to keep the water out and this box is not just glued to the to the board it's actually sunken down and also screwed into wooden dowels that goes through this board so it's quite secure is it gonna have enough power yeah yeah i don't know man it's 48 volts rated at 120 amps per motor more than 5 000 watts the entire system is about 10 000 watts 10 kilowatts is that enough i don't know okay now it's time for the surfboard [Music] wow [Music] first attempt and i i did not make it also one of the electric speed controllers blew up i'm not too bummed out about this and i tell you why out of all the things that could fail the electric speed controllers they were up there nothing else failed everything else worked perfectly so i've already ordered two new electric speed controllers 400 amps each double the size of the ones we are currently using they should arrive in just a week or two then i'll be out recording a new video a part two in which there will be mostly riding the surfboard and not so much building sounds good thanks for watching
