[Music] homeless man becomes millionaire after giving his last twenty dollars to a woman who ran out of gas [Music] we learned from a young age that little acts of kindness are what keep the world running for johnny bobbitt jr 34 though an act of kindness did more than keep him moving from day to day his own generosity inspired another person so much that it and she changed the course of his entire life kate mcclure 27 was driving from new jersey to philadelphia when she ran out of gasoline she pulled over on interstate 95 near one of the highways exits alone in order to brainstorm solutions to her problem just down the road was johnny who saw her as she stepped out of her car intent on walking to the nearest gas station kate was way laid by a concerned bobbitt jr johnny encouraged kate to stay in her car and lock her doors while he went to the gas station for her when he returned with a can of gas kate realized that he had spent his last twenty dollars to fix her car and ensure that she got where she needed to go safely though she was unable to pay him back that night kate proceeded to return to bobbitt jr's location for weeks providing him with money clothing and cereal bars in order to thank him for his thoughtfulness and generosity the relationship between the two evolved to the point where around thanksgiving 2017 kate and her boyfriend put johnny up in a hotel room [Music] the couple provided him with contact lenses and two gift cards to a nearby walmart as well as a computer not content to provide johnny with personal assistance and funds kate also started a fundraiser for johnny on gofundme she shared the story of his late night rescue with the whole of the internet and sat back as the tale grew traction drawing the attention and admiration of people from all around the world those moved by johnny's kindness began to donate filling and surpassing the gofundme's initial goals by unbelievable amounts while kate's own kindness changed johnny's life on a day-to-day basis it was the gofundme that changed everything in little to no time at all the internet had raised four hundred thousand dollars for johnny to use as he pleased he requested after some time that kate take the gofundme down not wanting to take advantage of strangers kindness however kate reinstated the gofundme after the internet insisted on continuing to aid the man who had spent his last dollars on her as of december 2017 johnny reported to his attentive online audience that he just purchased a house and was firmly back on his feet johnny's own story is one that may be familiar to many who lived beneath the poverty line or on the streets initially a member of the united states marines difficulty with his finances and addiction made it impossible for johnny to maintain a home when he encountered kate mcclure that night in 2017 he had been homeless for nearly a year and a half now thanks to her kindness and to his own he is able to share the money donated to him with other homeless veterans and individuals intent on bringing goodness into the world kate mcclure and johnny bobbitt jr both stand as examples of the power of small acts of kindness and the strength that comes when you combat the hardships of this world with an open heart you guys give up or you're thirsty for more want more content like this hit the like button and subscribe to our channel remember to click on the bell in order to get updates whenever we post a new [Music] video [Music] you
