the presence of the almighty king and now i pray in jesus mighty name for the comfort of this family that you o god will touch each and every person one by one and name by name father i thank you now that you were the god of comfort and that you would continue to remind them day by day week by week and month by month that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal and in the mighty maximus name of jesus i ask lord that you lord will continue to keep us that we should continue to walk in the memories and the lessons and the legacy of our dearly departed and i pray for his lovely wife and his children and grandchildren and all of those that are related that you will continue to strengthen them and even when they have questions in the midnight hour wondering why now father that you lord will continue to grant them peace peace that pass all understanding let it keep their hearts and their minds through christ jesus and i thank you now god that asks we continue to rejoice we enjoy rejoicing the fact that your word decrees and declares blessed are they that die in the lord thank you now in jesus name that we are reminded according to revelation 21 4 that the creator declares he will wipe away all tears from their eyes and death shall be no more neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore for the former things have passed away and so father we rejoice in the fact that you not only sent a son to die but that we are reminded that he is the resurrection and the life and we decree and declare that because we believe on him hallelujah we shall live again thank would have been better i could have been closer to the lord that i could do a lot of things that i don't do now because you got to grow you got to get through this and i thank god for each and every called grandpa it's called jt who's called bill because he thought his name was william bill he was called mr town but i called him daddy-o because he was just cool like that he had two switches or levels he's either happy or unhappy if he was unhappy everybody else is okay so we we tried very hard to keep them happy with him was really like living in uh for those of us remember ate fat taped inches so that was his soundcheck was from that arrow so you know spinners you know um the four tops uh you know use this good old school music right so that's the the the heartbeat for the house was safe right he loved saved so much so that i believe he kind of gave her an ultimatum that you and your six kids have best be mine [Music] good thing because i had to get here [Applause] but he loved the spinners the rubber band man working my way back to you it be i'm falling in love then came you over and over and over and over again it's a good thing we love black music because that's what we playing in our house we were elated because he did shift got a little more gospel now so there was canton spirituals the william brothers and the [Music] but we were so blessed to have him because he was the blue that held it all together we had a lot of children right she came with sex then we picked up andre the god daughter who won't let us sit down she's here tell her i spoke her name uh then we got a few more we got leah and nancy and uh sarah and david so the house kept getting full full of children um so the house is always lively live house from chamber street thank chamber street the houses of our houses were connected so it was 129 and 147 connector houses like our balconies you could jump from one balcony to the next so we jump alive so to ambassy's family we love you we are family um my dad saw a lot of violence in his life which he wouldn't i didn't know until i got to spend a lot of time with late and he actually there was a child who died in a drowning accident when he was very young um and then his father was killed when he was you know under the age of ten that it wasn't he worked his dad worked for my grandfather work construction he had a construction accident and at that time they really weren't real big on taking care of black folks and they let them walk home having fallen on a construction site and my father saw his father die [Music] but his father made it home from the construction site and walked miles home and he made it so my father saw violence very early and it turns out that um his response to that was to always want to party to avoid the feeling of violence so he parted a lot and [Music] um um the other thing that uh those of us who grew up with him he would like to tell jokes which is a good thing right more good times only his jokes start to hurt [Music] so we're going to tell a few of them one he likes to say that let me see how smart you are do you know the difference between an egg and an elephant well then i can't send you to the store for eggs you might bring home an elephant another joke would be uh i hope you lost your dog did you put up a signed lost dog and you go yeah put up signs for lost dog why dogs can't leave so one of his grandchildren gave him a book of jokes thank you jolly because he would learn them but you know he had a stroke so sometimes you know he would mix things up he'd have one part of one joke and the punchline for them too and he'll mad at us for not getting the joke so he just had to laugh he worked at this point 40 years he's at west point and um you might see the obituary that he served in the korean war and he was in france and he was singing while he was implants but when he came back he came back to west point and if you talk to anyone i'm trying to figure out what work got done at west point because they played cars they took naps they had a lot of press time but don't let west point know but he had a wonderful time i mean even right here someone mentioned a story of times with my dad which i tell my brothers what you did to my dad this would be a different kind of service so apparently he was napping at work and they tied his shoes together so i won't say you told me about what you've heard but they didn't know what you know i really the best times with my dad was watching him with other people because he never met a stranger and i don't care where we went i don't care what the situation is i don't care what news he got he is going to stop and speak to you and give you a word of encouragement he wanted to see you smile so we would be in a parking lot he will tell you you look good or you're wearing that suit or i like that heaven or you tell one more joke before i go well everyone who is with us at father's day and if you see him before i do please tell him i wore a dress [Music] his son judy and him are so much alike that um you just had to [Music] but watching them interact was priceless because um they always want to outrank each other it turns out that juni outrans him militarily which he like his dad enjoyed letting him know over and over [Music] uh to the family pop's grandpa daddy-o wanted us to go to california on a bus yeah but to everyone else i would say this on his behalf there are two things that he can't stand and you are both [Music] [Music] [Applause] was some man hey man he he keeps some sister wanda boyd thank you [Music] a baby boy willie jupiter sally was born on november 2nd 1935 two loving parents willie talley and odie northern king towing and wilson mother affectionately called him june after the death of his father due to a construction accident the family moved to spiritual in the city of newburgh in his tenured years june enjoyed a country life running through farm fields playing basketball and swimming near the hudson river he attended the old montgomery street school their name horizons on the house where he and his classmates rosella woody lee taylor leighton wampus lawrence williams and marae patterson cut up in class june also attended north junior high in newport career academy until the 11th grade when he joined the u.s air force his early career in the armed services held rocky star boot camp was in the south where jim crow laws were in effect being born and raised in the north june was not used to the segregation and violent racism so he left and returned to new york it was a long before the mps for him and he turned himself in returning to face f4 stocking nevertheless his gift of leadership kicked in and it wasn't long before he was supervising the other military in poland then off he went to war the korean war he was sent to france as god would bless him june was a talented singer an officer overheard him singing with another soldier and recruited him to sing in an acapella quartet the group toured all over france encouraging the troops when june returned to the city of newbury he worked at west point as a supervisor in the mets hall and the library a hard-working man he also joined cab part-time and box taxi often transporting patients to their medical services such as dialysis treatments or chemotherapy he retired from west point after 40 years of service it was around 1959 that he met the lord of his life saint a reina williams who has six children that is arnold nicki karen drusella morris anthony mole samuel dwight beverly walter iii dorothy and dennis cornell denise june also had a son charlie and sadie jr in 1961 at the time the youngest dentist was two years they adopted the rich girls leah nancy bernard and sarah clifford and david owens plus they also became the godfans of andre flying and he cherished his nephew isaac demp basin it was six years later that they had their last child or daughter tianke patrina carola mark their house on chamber street was filled with love and laughter he loved to be surrounded with his family having a good time with ten plus children around it was never a dull moment however the challenges of city life during the civil rights area took a toll on the family so june moved them to nether hill in the town of new book there the passionate joy continued with singing dancing washing cars and listening to his bad dad jewish june was an avid car player favoring poker and tom and there were many weekends when he could be found at the local poker game the family was overjoyed when he joined the church my holding down the baritone and base section he led several songs showed me the way i found away and i want to go with the thunderdome board to name a few not one to sit still for long jill began a second career driving school bus and total transportation he drove for over 20 years until an eye injury prevented him from maintaining his cdl license thus began his second retirement merit to say or super spook as he lovingly called her of course in her own right june retired that he was the group that held it all together he was a wonderful provider june is pre-deceased by his mother and father all his siblings b betty alvara billy and sam his eldest children that is nikki and kelly drusilla and one grandchild anika ayano he needs to warn his wife of 61 years save and his cherished family tree which you can see at the bottom of the obituary thank you [Applause] what the truth say man i'll say human again we bless the lord and we glorify him upon his name amen to the family i say [Music] but she is a true mother praise the lord so she has the qualities amen that warrants that time praise god we give you bring your freedoms amen from and i'm standing with it i was thinking i said i'll be being greeted with threefold status first of all the antioch church of christ the size of christ has been broken amen remembering amen to the family the long relationship that we have with hong kong amen down three years and remembering the gospel chorus coming and filling our choir standing you know the jew telling but i certainly want to bring you greetings from the general church as you'll be hearing all the uh remarks and the resolutions but the use of italian to the family of general bishop sends his heartfelt sympathy to you and to the family and we just want to say god be the glory praise god so much can be said i was privileged to have a brief relationship with brother joe amen i say grief because each time he was in the midst of our sessions whether it be [Music] fellowship service or he just happened to be around where his talent was amen he and i sometimes and somehow we always connected and we had this you know this i guess my say was parallel first of all we vote for uh veterans of the air force but i heard about all the tombs that he was saying the spinners and the four tops and all that amen he had always harmonized amen that was one of the things that he could always do praise god but we bless the lord amen for this opportunity to share with you and to say to you that life is a mystery amen and the scripture in first corinthians 15 and 49 tells us that as we have won the image of the earthly we shall also bear advantage of heaven amen and with the same thanking god we have this life to remember amen amen and how he carried himself and so many things that he did and some of us would think about how do you have that kind of life and do all those things amen and still become christ can i get an amen because that's our destiny amen it's our destiny to come to the lord we thank god amen that he is asleep in jesus christ amen because of that amen i led to the uh passage of scripture in first thessalonians and four amen and the sixteenth verse for the lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and with the trump god and the dead in christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain huh shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air and so shall we ever be in the lord wherefore one another with these words amen we're going to meet again amen we are always attached to the flesh amen the spirit lives on amen for he's asleep in jesus one day praise god we'll our elders uh general vice bishop to each of you that are assembled here to support the family today it is an honor and a privilege for me to be here to try and say a few words so much has been said already concerning the brother june town it seemed amazing that if you live your life in a manner while you're here that people don't have to try and look for things to say but your life will have spoken for you prior to you getting to this position praise god i before i take my text i want to share a couple things june i got saved a little bit before jim did and i got called into ministry and so june we we we we could identify with each other in many ways before we got saved but one sunday afternoon because uh as a helper of bishop johnson i really wanted to be an assistant to him and whatever he needed me to do and we used to go with him everywhere one sunday afternoon i had worked all week i was tired and i told bishop i wasn't going with him that afternoon they had to go out the gospel of course i believe over middletown to the other days it's a big bishop i'm tired i'm going to go home and i went home and i couldn't rest the spirit of the lord was just on me so heavy i tried to lay down i couldn't lay down he says get up and go to gentile's house i found every excuse in the book why i didn't need to go but finally the spirit of the lord wouldn't let me let it go the church had gone with bishop johnson i knew since italy i said but june's gone because the gospel course is gone so finally the spirit of the lord says go to tally's house so i got up and i got in my old van the old green van some of you don't remember that but i do anyway i rolled over to one carriage drive and i broke by and i looked in the window didn't see no cars and i said i knew there wasn't a party here but i saw a light in the living room and i didn't go in i didn't even go to the doorknock i went back home that thursday evening not june hadn't gotten his feet good in the church yet but he came to prayer service that thursday and so i'm sitting here in prayer service now i'm i'm i'm a new minister june got up [Music] and he says i want you all to know sunday afternoon i was slowed down i didn't have nobody to talk to i just wanted somebody to talk to and one of my old dragon buddies came by he stopped in and told me that there's a god somewhere and i really love you and i'm sitting here listening [Music] the lord wanted to use me to talk to him and encourage him and i found excuses not to do it well i was ready to go through a hole while he was telling that testimony yes i was i just wanted to share that with y'all because many times god has purpose for us and things for us to do and we we find excuses why not to do one other note then i'm gonna take a text as you talk about you being a comedian he i say he was a community y'all so you love to tell jokes so i got to do one day he was always coming up with stuff and so one sunday after we finished june come down the hall and he come down like this he had a bop so i got june up here i said okay let me get him i said june i said what's wrong with you man did you that ain't the rest of you last night [Music] so y'all know the story but when j jacob wrestled with the age jacob came up with a limp joe looked at me and started falling out level he's he'll hear you crazy but he was bopping i knew what he was doing but i wanted to get back up a little bit let us if you will praise god look into second corinthians chapter five and verse one i'll try to talk with you a little bit i have a little bit i want to say praise god concerning the word of god second corinthians 5 and 1. it reads for we know that if our earthly house office tabernacle were dissolved we have a building of god and house not made with hands [Music] eternal in the heavens now in june i just want to share a little bit with you from the subject my new place to live paul has something to say about the place to which all believers are headed thank god there is a place prepared to receive god's people when this earthly life is over today we are here to celebrate the transition of our brother willie june town if y'all don't mind i'm gonna call it june as has been for stated june loved singing about his new place that he was going to live many of the songs he sang was looking for this place that the lord has prepared for those who accept him as lord of their lives and as we look briefly today i want to share a few things from the subject my new place to live the first thing that i believe the writer would like to share with us is it is a perfect place one of the songs jim knight he says i want to [Music] [Applause] when i leave this world to return no more june had faith that he was going to this place a place with no flaws no defects perfect climate control paul tells us the writer of the text that this new place is a building of god this tells us something of the nature of that place if the lord makes it then then it stands to reason that it is perfect after all god works everything out for our good those that love the lord and are called according to his purpose [Music] this world is tainted and stained by sin according to romans 8 and verse 22. the writer says but none of the things that defile this world can enter that pharaoh revelation 21-27 these last few months has been rough for the tally family and for sister talent to your mom grandma jude was her best friend june heard that there is a place where the trials burden sins and faults of this world cannot enter so he's saying several songs about this place [Music] i want you to know that flesh and blood does not reveal these things to you about this place he asked the lord many times in the mail of course and sometimes the gospel course lord show me the way you really wanted to go to this place he had his eyes fixed not the fleshly eyes or natural eyes but the spiritual eye was fixed on this place and i want to do we have our spiritual eyes fixed on this place yeah yeah the scripture tells us that this place is a place where there'll be no more sickness those of you that have to have to have to endure sickness for a while you know that you get tired of being [Music] but there's a sick of no death no tears no burdens no trials no more devil to tempt you no evil no sadness tiana man you said it two times when he had there's no more sorrow now i'll have goodness no more grief even as you're going through it right now nothing to defile or discourage or defeat will never darken that glorious way i'm glad about that it is a place a perfect rest peace glory existence and joy we have seen jew get happy in the songs that he said yeah yeah god privileges his saints to just rehearsal down here [Music] but the joy that we share down here cannot compare with the joy that we will have eternal life so i say it is a perfect place my second thing that i would like to share with the family friends today it is a permanent place how many times do we move from place to place and things to things trying to make things better for us this earthly life is temporary and fleeting job tells us yeah yeah i believe brother talent somebody here fleeting away due to various illnesses and many of us if you would tell somebody you can see it fleeting too but the place where all saved people ahead is a perfect place paul says it is eternal in the heavens it will not fade it will not pass away and it will never be destroyed according to first peter peter 1 3 5 while eternity rolls forward the glory of heaven will never fade away and the residents of heaven will abide in that glorious city forever i don't know about you but i'm glad because i am looking for that city it gets rough down here sometimes and even now ah we can't do things on the norm like we used to but the scripture tells us it's only going to get worse so i want to be ready to go to this perfect place i guess i better close now but to this family [Music] we talked about it being a perfect place talk about it being a permanent place but i want you to know in it will also be a precious place we are told that when we leave these old earthly bodies we go immediately into the presence of our lord i want you to know that jesus [Music] oh fleshly body did die but jesus never died [Music] he changed in that right from the mortal and put on immortality the redeemed soul finds itself in the presence of the one who died to save the soul this whole flesh has to go back to the dust of the earth from where it came from but i'm glad there's a swift transition [Music] whenever angel comes for the flesh if you have been redeemed by the blood of the land it can only get the flesh because all souls belong to the lord [Applause] jude's soul is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the more i talk about this place i find myself getting ready to go also standing i don't know when where oh but i really want to [Music] [Music] june came and sit back there in a wheelchair and tears were running down his cheek and when we finished preaching they rolled him down here yeah he looked at me and said hello harry [Music] i wanted to grab that axle man [Music] tears running down the street he wanted to sing one of his songs but now brother june you can sing all you want to you won't ever get tagged you don't have to worry about running out of breath because the angels sing all day long holy holy holy [Applause] [Music] thank you jesus i'm glad [Applause] because i'm walking on golden streets i can see just for walls i can sing with the angels now i even got a new song bishop that the angels can't sing [Applause] [Music] i want you to know most of all my loved one prayed for me and i pray for you all i pray that you get there i'm praying that you get here you need to see the nest on hands and you need to see the crown of thorns do you need to see the moon in [Music] keep on in there [Music] because i heard in revelation the saints they are not angels the saints are asking the lord how long ago could it be before that's my new place [Music] that i'm living now to get there of all that we have here and accumulated here you can't take that which is there [Music] you can't take it with you you'll leave it here for somebody else to enjoy but when you get that [Music] you won't need it [Music] of god's glory john tells us that eyes have
