Hogwarts Legacy - Part 1 - The Beginning

what's up guys and welcome to the game that we have been waiting our entire lives for I can't believe I'm about to say this right now but welcome to Hogwarts Legacy I've got a chill running down my spine right now I've got to be honest this is it for me this is the Pinnacle I have never looked forward to a game this much or posting a series on my channel this much like I'm a lifelong Harry Potter fan grew up reading the books I still watch the movies through at least once per year every October spooky Vibes but um usually more than that like I'm just I'm a Harry Potter fanatic that's the best way to put it so I just I can't wait to immerse myself in this world we are going to be taking our time with this series we are not going to be blitzing down the main storyline we are going to be taking our time with side quests and exploration and uncovering things and really just kind of exploring everything so I hope that sounds good to you if that sounds like something you'd be and Wizardry as a fifth year student turn begins on the 1st of September preliminary supplies have been collected for you and will accompany you on your journey to the castle as you may be aware the decree for the reasonable restriction of underage sorcery prohibits the use of Magic by those under the age of 17 outside school however due to your unique circumstances the ministry is graciously agreed to allow Professor Eleazar fig to help you hone your spell casting before escorting you from London to the castle for the start of term feast and the Sorting ceremony you're sincerely M Weasley Professor Weasley deputy headmistress we've been accepted let's go to Hogwarts baby all right so we've got our our character creator here honestly this thing is massively impressive there are so many options I'm just going to kind of Breeze through it so we can get to the uh the game but um yeah you guys will be definitely pleasantly surprised when it comes to uh the customization here bam there we have it pleasure to meet you so my name is Thomas Millicent just kind of wanted something a little more era appropriate but uh the TM the initials kind of got your boy in there a little bit so uh yeah this is her wizard good old Thomas here start an adventure [Music] up and right into it ah it appears we are almost ready to depart pity we didn't have a bit more time to spend on spell casting I presume you've been practicing the Spells we worked I have Professor well I'm quite sure I'd never seen anyone take so quickly to a secondhand wand you'll be a force to be reckoned with when you get your own thank you Professor fig I appreciate you working with me all the time Elias Orange cryptic description of our location did not thwart you're finding us I evaporated to more vaguely Define destinations than this though I confess I may have miscalculated slightly on my first try gave quite the Fright to some theater goers in the West End it's been much too long when I received Doral I must say I best not speak here Elias are of course why don't we speak on route to Hogwarts we have a start of term feast and a sorting ceremony to get to wonderful idea as long as your young child here doesn't mind me tagging along not at all sir after you ages since I've been to the castle would be good to see the old pile of rocks so George and Professor fig have [Music] some business to called you before you left the Scotland just barely and who is your traveling companion a new student new yes sir I'm starting school as a fifth year how extraordinary it is indeed none of the faculty has ever heard of anyone being admitted to Hogwarts so late nor have I of course as the other fifth years will have been honing their magical skills for four years now the Headmaster asked if I could get her new student up to speed a bit before the term begins well you couldn't have asked for a better Mentor Professor fig is not only an exceptional teacher he's also a remarkably intuitive and gifted wizard Mr osbrick is prone to flattery I dare say it's one of the reasons he's risen so far at the ministry have you seen you've seen Ren Rock's Goblin Rebellion I have opinions differ as to how great a threat Round Rock really is although I've yet to convince my colleagues that the ministry I believe he is a significant threat and it was your wife Elias are who alerted me to his activities months ago Miriam how she wrote to me about ran Rock before she died wondering what the ministry knew about his activities before I could respond I received this it was the last thing she sent me earlier it came to me via her owl but with no correspondence I can only assume that she had to get rid of it quickly to keep it safe presumably from ran Rock I cannot open it whatever magic protects this is powerful indeed it looks like Goblin metal that symbol symbols that glow I don't see a glow nor do I repossess ancient magic or something along those lines wait [Music] that was a dragon wing [Music] the the festival's fake that's good we can see him now because we've witnessed that [Music] [Music] the key or just to operate out of there oh [Applause] the thestral's fading in with a nice touch there you can't see him unless you've witnessed death we saw George die pretty good you're hurt perhaps a bit this it's wig and weld potion that stuff will write you in a second what happened where'd he take us oh George I can't believe he what the hell got into that damn thing attacking a carriage mid-air a typical Dragon would never professor sir where are we I'm not sure but that key you discovered was clearly a Porky Porky an item Enchanted to bring whoever touches it to a specific place I'm feeling better sir if you'd like to look around a bit I would stay close we've no idea who created this Porky oh why hmm but your wife sent it and it's tied to some sort of ancient magic that we have a tie to how far that poor key take us farther from London than the carriage traveled we're somewhere in the Scottish highway so those ruins do you think Porky was meant to lead us there I do this has not been the day either of us expected but Miriam sent that poor key to George for a reason and I believe that she and now George died in pursuit of whatever it was meant to lead to if you're sure you're all right and wouldn't mind indulging me I'd like to have a look around absolutely sir good let's see if we can find a path however faded it may be so we've got a goblin Rebellion ancient Magic a dead wife what dead friends he spent years searching for evidence of a long forgotten form of ancient Magic seems to have been lost to time Hogwarts Castle was built by and is itself a stronghold of that ancient Magic I don't know where she came into possession of the book key but I am certain it was to do with that search ah there's the part down below this way a lot happening here before we ever get to school that's for sure but sir why was your wife searching for evidence of Lost Magic Miriam wanted to understand why such powerful magic disappeared from The Wizarding World spoke of the good it could do but magic is no different than any power what really matters is the one who wields it is that ice it's not cold enough here it appears to be a sort of enchantment someone wanted to block this path let's see some of that one work you were practicing focus on the center okay basic cast excellent not bad for a first year use your camera to select an active Target some players prefer to select Target to move the Avatar with the Same thumbstick by looks interesting the mini map shows your surroundings you with the triangle in the middle it's your current objective press and hold up to toggle Quest objective details explore the ruins all right professor it's a mural of some tarot cards um telescopes our house was a noted seer interesting birds Professor this statue this may have been his home hmm wants us to go this way looks like a scholarly gentleman that Enchanted crystallized Stone again but what could it be blocking what's this the same logo is that Gringotts that kind of looks like Gringotts but it's not like the main entrance why would someone have conjured that Enchanted Stone here and how is there a room behind it what room I don't see anything there's that glow again like the glow on the port key container godric's heart where are we I don't believe it it teleported us this has gotta be green gods this is for sure [Music] it can't be [Music] just a moment oh [Music] it's like a friendly fella [Music] welcome to gringott's Wizarding Bank vote number 12 I presume oh the key the White's Pokey it's a key to a vault in ring guards oh this is getting crazy right off the bat this way then but I find the Sorcerer's Stone or what that would have been around where's Nicholas at [Music] you [Music] and keep your hands inside the cards if you don't wish to lose them [Music] foreign in fact you'll see quite a few on our way to vote number 12 as we speak we're just beneath the main lobby the volts you see now are the new East are private entrances to the bank common and Gringos they are most uncommon only one with great wealth or power or both could have arranged for such a service so that explains why we came in where we did take a breath a what that waterfall washes away all enchantments it's a security measure experience the thief's downfall before have you heard of it dude that we're passing that how deep are we going box number 12 was commissioned shortly after Gringos was founded over four centuries ago he resides in the deepest part of the bank settling with quite a distance to go going deeper into Gringotts than we've ever been before [Music] vote number vote 12. that same glow in the dragon's collar yeah what was that we were just wondering about that Goblin back there did he watches over the section of the bank rare anyone goes there anymore so he's he's 100 back he's going off to warn somebody that Dragon was possessed or in bad hands and so is he for sure Vault 12. here we are [Music] when was the last time this Vault was accessed a goblin has been accelerate your wands motion along the path okay so we're going to trace this R for revelio gotta beat the fire behind it that's how you learn to spell revelio there I saw something move a bit closer and try again door well that's a start there's that symbol again I don't suppose you see a weight too I do Professor that symbol has the same glow as the one I saw on the porky container if what you can see reveals the way forward then I dare say we are about to discover the secret of this vault lead the way okay lumos this is no ordinary fault I suspect we will need to earn our way out of here what do you mean earn our way out I think this is some sort of test I do but to what end I can't say close there will be no disapparating if things go poorly not out of Gringotts so many Shadows looming in the distance this is terrifying oh my goodness [Music] what are you getting us into professor I see something up ahead what is it that glow again but on the floor [Music] this ancient Magic feels a little evil if I'm being honest what happened when I moved towards the globe it suddenly seemed as if the ground was swirling about are you all right yes sir I'm fine you seem to have caused the floor to change that statue what statue I see some sort of statue but only is a reflection in the floor revelio I presume this is what you saw reflected in the floor it is the reflection's still there but the statue's positions don't match wait when you moved the reflection turned in the direction of the light hmm perhaps you should cast lumos ah okay here we go Gonna Learn lumos it's a little triangle action there required the one lighting charm lumos which has automatically been slotted to your spell set lumos creates a light at the tip of your wand to help you see in dark areas hold R2 hit triangle lumos well done now the reflection is turning towards me does follow the light I don't know if we were supposed to do that okay he's a beast uh Professor I'm I guess we could use our little spellcast thing here I'm a fifth year student which means you're fine I'm like what 16 years old or something like that like I don't know if I'm really cut out for this he keeps hitting them before they're able to get me there it is protego if you time it right you can do uh like what's it called fairies go nice stay close [Music] professor professor professor fig Professor where are you but this isn't good Luma where am I supposed to go [Music] what's happening don't mind if I do wisps of magic seem to be leading me somewhere to follow those I kind of want to see if there's any other chests lumos looks like who wants to go this way I don't know how much we would have Venture off the path here Trev D1 galleons is pretty good though revelia nothing else oh lumos Ah that's where they're leading me I glow again thank you [Music] oh no we're gonna have more of these things Rebellion I suppose I'm on my own this time so we need a flip all three lumos oh they moved the bottom ones okay that makes sense let's get them on the bottom yeah it seems I have no choice I'm going to have to fight my way out of there we're gonna have to fight these by ourselves Professor where are you at okay that was a little close too close for comfort let's go baby just focus one kind of see him coming easy enough hold triangle during protego to stun enemies with a stupefy counter-attack stunned enemies take extra damage indicated by gold numbers okay that makes sense so we want to hold it oh a stupefied one because it's gonna do stupid one bonus damage stupid five baby knocks him down takes him out of the battle and we do bonus damage let's do the battling is so sick in this see we can put him down and then Focus this other one and now we only have one to worry about while they're out of the battle finish him off oh that is nasty the combat feels so good in this game dude it is 10 out of 10. they killed it I'm honestly really surprised how good it is lumos Rebellion lumos grab in here no oh follow the light [Music] anything else in here no foreign disappensive to pensive oh time to watch some memories [Music] there you are how did you what is this place I don't know but I found this floating above that basin that is no mere basin that is offensive for viewing memories I wonder gotta pour it in there this is what they wanted us to see this is why we impossible for one who cannot see traces of ancient magic as I can your ability to see what others cannot will not be enough personal we are entrusting the one who embarks on this path with Powerful Secrets with knowledge others will do anything to obtain yes and if we are correct Charles the ritual wizard who completes the trials will have proven themselves worthy of that knowledge and the responsibility that accompanies it we've done all that we can Rookwood and Rackham time to pull that memory right out [Music] that's what you're seeing the glow the surrounded them yes sir astonishing can I see Magic traces of an ancient magic to be precise [Music] the magic that Miriam heard always believed existed could never [Music] Miriam and perhaps George died in pursuit of knowledge that has been dormant for centuries and you it seems are the key to understanding why we were rather different than it did a moment ago someone's coming were they ran Rock but sir you shouldn't be in there I knew it his little buddy went and got him he was right ran Rock seems my reputation precedes me I was beginning to think no one was ever going to visit raccoons walks and why are you here no need for that just give me whatever it is you found here and we can let bygones be bygones I don't think so suck they have the key to the vault choose your next words wisely I 12 were quite clear sir I must love it so much dude I I could shed a tear so that the like Flame the w that's like the symbol for this ancient magic that we're gonna have to learn about and that's why we're transferring to Hogwarts as a fifth year because we have some sort of a tie to that obviously not really aware of that but somebody called for us somebody needs us it's going to be up to us [Music] oh good we haven't missed the Sorting ceremony I'm no expert but that seems more Brit oh I need to study this locket as soon as I can but first I must contact the ministry they need to know what happened to George and be having an adventurous spiritual professors have a great deal to teach you as well oh but you're brave at heart exceptionally daring undaunted by the unknown willing to forge your head alone when you must perhaps you belong in Gryffindor so here's the thing if you take the quiz on The Wizarding World website and then you link your like PlayStation or steam or whatever account to it it will transfer over it carries over your house it carries over your wand and a couple other things and then you also get like bonus downloadable content for linking everything up now every like quiz I've ever taken my entire life has always come out as Gryffindor but a very close second place Slytherin like if if they give you like percentages it's always like 51 49 so I've always seen myself as a Gryffindor but honestly for the sake of this playthrough I think I'm gonna dip my toe in the other end I don't think there's much of a difference I I really don't think it affects the game at all besides you know obviously your common room and kind of where you go at the end of the day but um I I just to be honest the Slytherin common room looks pretty cool you're kind of you know underground under the Black Lake underwater which is dope and uh then also I really like the Slytherin Companion now I think you can be friends with all the companions from all the houses but uh Sebastian sallow just has a really interesting story and he also wants to dabble in dark magic which I'm not gonna lie I kind of want to get into as well so I think we're gonna choose a different house we've got Gryffindor here known for daring bravery and chivalry we've got Hufflepuff known for patience loyalty and hard work Ravenclaw honestly was probably my close second known for intelligence creativity and wit their common room looks sick and then Slytherin cunning ambition and a hunger for power I detect a growing sense of ambition an eagerness for power as a lifelong Gryffindor this kind of hurts me to do but uh here we go [Music] you belong in Slytherin [Music] we're gonna change the mold could be a good Slytherin that just happens to dabble in dark arts right I just want to do something a little bit different oh and one more thing due to the unfortunate injury on the pitch in last Spring's final this year's quidditch season has been canceled [Music] I would have loved quidditch in this game enough maybe next time it's not as though I've banned flying altogether but don't tempt me you are here to focus on your academic Futures I'm sure you all have plenty to do before classes begin desk we need our trunk a lot of people have trunks in here we don't have any trunk yet get out of our dorm here looks like that might be the more common area of the common room sixth years [Music] interesting so this is just kind of like a long row of all the dorms and then this is going to be our are in order so to introduce ourselves to Imelda ominous and Sebastian dude this is beautiful look at this that's the actual Black Lake over there I mean it's kind of grungy it's kind of dark it's kind of disgusting as you would expect for slytherins but still pretty cool Sebastian Salah this is us for the ride still impressive Dreadful way to go poor fellow glad you and figure all right was pretty exciting it was Dreadful certainly but quite an experience nonetheless interesting perspective how did you and fig managed to escape it's all still a bit of a blur to be honest didn't mean to press you just get yourself settled we can talk more later what book were you reading a spell book I picked up has a few interesting things but not exactly what I was looking for I'm sure you'll find out soon enough but not every spell you may need can be found in r a signed textbook I like him see I were fine I think you're underestimating the nature of a dragon a broom would have been kindling not the way I fly perhaps one of these days I'll show you a thing or two about flying I can teach you more than Kagawa ever could she from Canada I'd like to get in some time on my brim before classes um do you have a lot of time to fly during school I make the time there's nothing like swerving through the spiers of the castle and around the Quidditch pitch to clear the mind are you a keen wizard chess fan you knew that boy was going to lose the match not really much to sedate a Pastime for me also it's simply not that challenging the moves are always so obvious why does no one else see it so she's a bossy goodbye Imelda annoying Noah I don't like Imelda we are not gonna get along okay last one ominous over in the corner mermaids so this is the actual bottom of the black leg here we might see some uh grindelos down there those little devil creatures from Goblet of Fire I I think I heard one that mermaids find us that interesting ah based on all the chatter When you entered the common room I'm guessing you're the new fifth year I'm ominous ominous gaunt nice to meet you ominous Well you certainly had a memorable arrival it's pretty terrible my father have arrived on time and without a dragon attack on Route I'm sure how horrible I can only imagine well it's good to have you in Slytherin do let me know if I can be of any help as you navigate your first days here but I've never heard of a mermaid showing up outside our common room window it is fun to play along though they're known to keep some First Years on the lookout for hours okay I kind of like that were you expecting to be sourced into Slytherin most certainly my family on my father's side are direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin one of the four founders of Hogwarts not something I'm especially proud of mind you he was obsessed with blood status a pure blood Maniac unfortunately most of his descendants do not fall far from that tree so you're one of the good ones interesting thank you ominous very nice to meet you pleasure was all mine don't be a stranger interesting yes Slytherin in here Professor Weasley's waiting for you just by the stairs okay I can head that way um so he's a descendant a direct bloodline descendant of Salazar Slytherin that's a rare company and not necessarily the best company to keep pretty sure Voldemort was the the very final one it was the very end of the bloodline about a hundred years after this she's over there I just kind of want to so there's more more dorms that way and things that's off limits to me okay somebody practicing magic what is this here nice little treat is that Mr Salazar himself gonna have to keep an eye on these these fools you know we're a Gryffindor but we're just keep your friends close and your enemies closer I want to see what's going on here in the the common room nothing over Yonder what is this most of it you only have one first day at Hogwarts do my best of your unique situation joining us as a fifth year you'll need to catch up with your classmates and not fall behind especially as you'll be expected to complete your owls at the end of the year owls owls yes your ordinary Wizarding level exams they will determine what type of career you can have when you leave here after much discussion with the Headmaster and the department of magical education at the ministry we've devised something extraordinary to ensure your success foreign here you are [Music] whoa what is it it is a Wizard's Field Guide it will help you to keep track of what you are learning so that you master all that's expected of a fifth year [Music] you would be wise to take full advantage of this exceptionally valuable resource so this is going to catch us up to everyone else got five years of work to do in one year no problem thank you Professor but what do you mean it will keep track of what I'm learning perhaps seeing it in action we'll answer any questions you may you make walk with me [Music] this way [Music] house chess I certainly would have appreciated something like the field guide when I was a student using the guide will also train you to be alert to your surroundings down here in the dungeons the castle the guide will give you opportunities to practice your magic and educate the right side of the map is where you'll find your academic points of interest including the astronomy Tower Library and greenhouses it's like the library Annex to continue so that's going to be this over here Professor Weasley is unlocked the central Hall flu Flames for you rotate the map and fast travel with square I don't want to yet but I think we have to I wanted to grab that chest and here
