Really drove home how huge the Mongol empire was.
I fucking love this... if I could I would marry this!!!
Hats off to the creator & to OP for sharing this.
Why is it that British colonies seem so well off, but Spanish colonies don't?
Many are complaining that other cultures are underrepresented here. Are there other maps similar to this that show those cultures? Perhaps some form of collaboration could happen? Or has this already been done?
I'm just fascinated by information like this, so I'd love to see something that could combine the specializations of many different historians in one place. Watching changes that happened concurrently across the globe is amazing.
I've been looking for a map, but more like an animated experience I can interact with and learn from, a visual interactive history map for regions/countries/the planet. I don't like videos like these... I can't dispute the value but the method for this much information is just not good. Can somebody suggest something or is there really nothing?
Damnit GEMA..
I was always taught the Celtic Irish created Alba (Scotland), this map says its the other way round.
Is this true?

"...The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner. How frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light..." -Carl Sagan
