Hexi Vs Trangia Cook Off!

today we've come out for a walk me and Peter or Peter I know he's over there he's in the field it says no it's private property to keep out which I will say is crap because it's a public footpath so I don't know why they've started out on that gate it's a bit out of order really isn't it because we're about to enter a private footpath public footpath private field right of access by way bylaws how it works obviously if we step off the path you're trespassing [Music] so make sure we don't step off the path and we stay on it but we're going down to spade oak where the lakes are well the lakes is this the main lake there are other lakes but we're not going to go to them and we're going to do a spot cooking he's going to do a bacon and sausage BLT wraps and I'm doing the same I don't know what he's cooking with you might be using hexie so I've got a strong feeling this is a cook-off a hexia against the Trangia triangle using the Trangia burner I'm not sure burner he's got what he's using a hex key so he's probably going to do it in it you know just a small teeny on a stovetop I don't know what he's doing but we're having a cook-off [Music] I already found a nice spot Peter's just gone over there he's found it yeah have a look just like a willow trees there's some willows it's quite nice it's really nice in the summer got the water here it's chilly really chilly look nice breeze coming in from that side so I think we should cook that's over there trying to suppress some of that breeze it's quite a strong one as well and we set up our cooking power where um we think we're gonna get the best wind benefits from it over over there behind that tree or over here this is quite windy isn't it might be better everywhere it's nice really good shelter that is that not a perfect winter shower ivy any windier yes perfect you've got a complete wind block got to take all this into account when you come out yeah you see it the winds gone when these things you get everybody sat down their eyes get set up so you can get this to work it's gonna be really cold it's come out of the outside st. Pat we've got a light so let's leave that there get going a bit so look what we've got in the food got bacon some sauce sausage mushroom little bit of salad some more laps when I finish off right so got prep some of their mushrooms they're not really yet they well wings quite bad when you come out into it just get the pan warm it up I'm away from the bike in this area you gotta be ready to put some on your pan I'll put you back on the tray [Music] should tear off but your Bacon's like never does does it I might do a sausage fest get my message into our kiss your pant got some bacon in there got this one it was a totally different a same packet oh well my pans on so I'm going to start throwing some stuff in it it must be really hot actually it's going so he's young he's using the hex key and I'm on the trend year so it's a proper cook-off and these are prep some of those mushrooms [Music] I'm definitely having mush mush ease I need to put some all in my pan but I need to get its board up a little bit before I start that because you know it is with these there's a lot of crap content of bacon aren't you as already starting to come out all that water putting bloody water and bacon never used to be like this to me old days no pay you look fine you'll be fine my barber see what I do is I get the fluid out of water crap let that start to dry out because I've just got it out then I'll add a bit of water just smell yours new hexie horrible right hand I put a little bit of oil in there you know I didn't bring my transient or older let this bake and cook up a bit then I'm going to frozen those mushrooms in or get the sausages in as she's yanking off that tree oh it's chilly winds getting up but we're pretty secluded a back of this it's really nice let's get you down ace you can have a look at this close up the bacon and as Peters [Music] this is first rule cookout I think he's done a real cookout I'm trying to get him out and get him doing stuff my Scout pretty well the Trangia is going really well at the moment you're not getting as much wind block as me I don't think being where you are jaws are so coconut try and rate the moments beating your butt hello yeah let me long their titles yet how brambles I'm going to do this just move the bacon is not gonna see the fat run into the back so I know it that's where my levelness is staying on you label this I don't want to finish cooking these fully I would use a windshield because we're gonna fight a cook-off I don't want to cheat and do it a lot better Lincoln even though I've got wings shielded there I would still put one on it click the save jet fuel otherwise end up burning for Peter's burnt through to hexie blocks and now he's going for the I told him I don't like hexie but he loves it trans years delay you probably want to start grouping that stuff more and more to one end of the pen are those like exid this stinks and I don't think this is efficient as I'm maxing them alcohol burner there's heat under there I can feel it you see it yeah look see starting to cook my own oh I should have added some water little baby things are going quite well as I started kicking off now another touchdown temperature to turn your sausages over but they're not mine but we're winning with the Trangia at the moment I know will you hexie lovers out there probably do it therefore it is new to this so these pans a bit big you know you got a look at the downs he's got with it hex is giving out the heat takes off their hand put them in you really want these in a fatty area though you want my food this is a 24 centimeter paint I move in with vandal taken off its a standard flying thing figured out it own I like it please a good size and it's nonstick know about our out of this now have a full train here I've been going that one coming close perhaps we needed some crazy don't you come along upon mr. food I'll show your fight outfit it looks like I'm still winning the race perhaps experience is playing out more than actual use of what we're cooking with well I've got a feeling pay you're not even going to finish cooking there in that you might have switched to a trans year what do you think all right he's saying this could be an epic Fang just chairs the guys stand to collapse yeah okay not very impressive is that abusing 6xe blocks and you everything start to cook yet if you are new to this cousin why isn't it done it is actually left to go to the car which is about quarter-mile away to get a chair and that's what you've done is left that running yeah [Music] does it every time you just walks away these things running or heat or a cooker sorry I won I do when I put you on the table facing that plate you know we'll start trying to serve I'll just get mine I let it go I'm not going to put that along have to put that out in a minute we gloves on hold a lot now and there but they're not that great yeah cassette mushrooms on there now I'll tell you I'm glad it's cold whose minds are burning let's get that back on natural he but we've got more food in my for about a centimeter in there that's really good really good [Music] shop and there we are I be able to a sausage haven't got any I don't have any mayonnaise what better way to spend a morning out in the wilderness [Music] love it absolutely love it and Esther Scottish wondrous as it's all mines on the gobble this time get my second rap on we left that back in the pan there's no need to get it off and they get cold come on him I'm gonna go over there's a dog coming at me sir like an alien opponent I need to do this and stop it from getting Peters let dr. to smelled us from a long way away like the two guys had sent up and like it smells bacon I didn't know where it's coming from I'll try and protect this food yeah as hexes I've got out there is a dog was licking me bacon what a dope I try to stop it making my bacon so I know it wasn't you would have had it over now right so Peters coming to the point where his food and he cooked we've only been here about an hour sun's come out it's lovely about your house well we might have been here two hours Pitt of things but this is him and we actually box you gone for it hey you sure we didn't put telling because you had to there why are they all together I think okay is that 8 or 10 year and that's cooked I think you ready to serve yeah so I'll move the table over for you raps can't beat a good rap great for camping and outdoors because they're so light and easy to carry I even put stakes in raps my steak wrap lovely is it worth it yeah lovely don't mean to rap
