Hermitcraft S7 Ep 49: My MEGA Christmas Surprise!

hello there my fellow miners and crafters good times with skyr here and welcome back to the interior of my torso i i'm empty inside and uh that is very uh very relevant anyway guys how are you all doing today and welcome back and we are war free that's right in our last episode we lost the war and well yeah i'm still on my throne or under my throne that is and uh that's a good thing but today we got to clean the shopping district we need to get herman craft in a festive christmas spirit here in the shopping district so as the mayor i declare it'd be christmas time right jelly so we're going to have to decorate this beautiful little town hall here into a christmasy wonderland which is going to be amazing getting rid of llama tower and sunburn scar are definitely a must for today and before we do get to our christmasy spirit i have to thank you so much for the support throughout the entire storyline of the mycelium wars to the mini game episodes you guys i can't even thank you enough for the support and the encouragement and the ideas and everything along those lines you guys have made my 2020 bearable and also i have to thank the good old hermits out there for all the work and fun that they put into the turf war here this is uh this is a definitely a bit of an embarrassment for team grass but gg gg team mycelium you gotta give it to the hermits for this incredible minigame district it blows my mind that this area was constructed in just a little more than a week and a half welp we're the losers we gotta hold up our end of the bargain by cleaning up the shopping district and i've arranged for the members to have a quick meeting and a cleanup party i've got my biosuit on because this is gonna get gross wait not the hermits but the with the mycelium because it's gross and everyone agrees on that well that members we may now won in the end but we are getting the shopping district back in grass so secretly we win right all we ever wanted was grass everywhere who's the big winner here real winner is the grass to be honest it's coming back with a vengeance bruce willis style it's going to be a micen the environment has won this this war i think it's safe to say yes well thank you for the big turnout here and guys all the games were incredible we we put it a good effort and um yeah it's all we could have done and as i said grass won in the end so we need to fulfill our end of the bargain in the bets that uh we repair the shopping district we need to de-lamify our building we need to d mushroomify the land it's just so beautiful to see the grass here once again and we cleaned up mount scar and i left the llama for a little longer the other half members wanted to keep it and i think that would be fun to keep it for a little bit longer and something i mentioned to them was that i'd like to put all the hermit's heads on the mountain i think that would be really really cool to see everyone's heads here now it's a rather small space oh it'll be fun to kind of squeeze everyone's heads here and i think it'll be a nice little unifying thing now that the war has concluded also maybe if cub is up for it he could turn the training grounds here into a beautiful park to represent the mountains and all of the heads i think that could be really cool so with that now out of the way it's time to get into the christmas spirit and uh festivize festivize festival-wise festive festivus for the rest of us couldn't think of the right word there but anyway let's get the town hall here all set up and ready for christmas and we're going to need to build a massive christmas tree and that is going to require a whole lot of spruce leaves so i need to go find [Music] some [Music] welp we just destroyed nature for christmas and now all we need to do is make friends with the snowman and we'll be all set to christmafy all of the town hall look at all the resources we got so in front of us we have our snow behind us is all the leaves and in the back that is wool and logs now i did make friends with the snowman and named him skarloff but in the end i uh killed him with a shovel and it was quite tragic really put a damper on my mood but to help fix that time to start decorating the town hall with our christmas decorations so the first thing we're going to do is wrap some garland around the edges of the town hall so on all the different moldings around the doorways and jazz it up with some ornaments some green yellow and red and mixing in a little diamond action which i think will be fantastic we will have to tap into the diamond throne well because this is a little bit of an embarrassment here but i'm down to only six diamond blocks the war depleted my funds so yeah i think i might be one of the poorest hermits at this point i could probably fix my lack of diamond problem by actually doing the interiors for our shops and restocking my existing shops between the war and now christmas things have just gotten the way of restocking the shops but our next episode we're gonna have an interior decorating extravaganza episode where we build out those shops and of course restock everything but until then it's decorating time [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] and a super fast christmas mode and we've got ourselves a decked out town hall with some beautiful oversized garland with diamond accents and snow and i think that is looking really fantastic and in the interior here we have garland above all of the doors but to top this all off of course we have a mega christmas tree on top of the town hall now i searched high and low for a place here in the shopping district to place it but we are so full around here so there was no space so well it went right on top of the town hall which i think actually looks kind of cool and you can see that the tree's got a little character it's got some curves and some design to it there's a lot of christmas trees are very kind of like straight and very cone-shaped and kind of boring so yeah i wanted to add a little bit more character make it feel a little bit more of a realistic christmas tree with a beautiful star on top it's got icicles hanging off of it and the lanterns make for really good lights on christmas trees christmas trees have always been difficult in minecraft but we have a lot of cool new things in the game to make them quite a bit nicer and you can see all the beautiful icicles going up to the top and of course there is snow dripping off the sides of the town hall with some additional icicles looking super fancy something that is missing with our christmas tree is some presents that's right when i finished this off and i was adding all the snow down here and the lanterns i was like wait a second every christmas tree needs a gift under it and we need to give some gifts from the town hall to all of the hermits and i think all the hermits are on the nice list right who who would you put on the naughty list this year and let me know in the comments but what we need to do is think about what we can give the hermits for christmas back here at the magical village i have set up 12 shulker boxes to start out with and we need to make a template box then we can use to fill all of the remaining boxes up so 12 boxes down below and this will be our template box so what would you give the hermits for christmas i want to know in the comments hashtag christmas presents i want to know what you would give them and yeah i need to look through all of my stuff i mean there's definitely stuff in here i mean we've got we got chest monsters galore i'm starting to get there on the christmas gifts here we have four shulker boxes so one two three and then four counting the one that contains the presents after all and we've got four diamonds so we want to fill up the edges here of course and then something in the middle the middle item is the best item that's like your mega present so hmm still don't know what that is we do have a lot of netherrite for our netherite clothing store that we're opening soon if we use some we could always go back and get more in the nether i mean just a tnt blast away so expensive but it could be a really cool present all right we're going for it all out this christmas we're giving nether i in get how how why how do you make this again i confused okay okay this is how you make it one netherite ingot that's a really cool and beautiful pattern there but we need to fill up the rest of these slots now that's what i'm talking about that right there is a beautiful minecraft christmas present smooth quartz one of the absolute best blocks in the game it's a beautiful gilded black stone some crunchy golden apples some diamonds shulker boxes and in the center of it a netherright ingot i think that is a pretty cool christmas present from the mayor oh that was quite a grind there but look at how many of these boxes we've got and as i said we need to make more of these but this is a good start i am super happy with the way these boxes came out so now they are decorated for christmas with all of the beautiful details in here and i love how my name is just off to the side right there i like it that way it's like a little uh tag like from scar but uh yeah what do you guys think of these boxes do they come out okay so let's pop these under the tree now santa scar is coming to town and baron some gifts now placed under the tree looking super fancy and yeah i am so happy for the hermits to get their presents and as i said i was not anticipating doing presents but once we built the tree we just had to give out presents as santa scar here and i may be a war losing mare but now i'm a mayor bearing gifts which i think might be the best kind of mare so hopefully all those crazy hermits out there enjoy their gifts tucked under here in the hermit tree so let the hermits know that there are now gifts here at the town hall for them from santa mare scar you might be wondering scar why are you in the nether well i just spent 20 minutes wandering through the nether trying to find the christmas district and within the christmas district is a massive christmas calendar built by tango and b-dubs and i have not been oh oh wow i knew it was big i didn't know it was this big oh wow so the backstory of this is that tango has been giving gifts to all the hermits leading up into christmas and it's finally time to open our present i i just forgot which number tango said it was hmm look at the derpy snowman oh man i love this place this is really cool ladies and gentlemen we got it number 12 and we just cleared the edge there and made it up so do we just open the present do we just break it i feel like the war has kind of paranoid me that every time i'm about to open something like this i'm like am i gonna die am i gonna die no i'm safe okay oh i can just walk around the edge we'll fix that there we go maybe this is just for decoration anyway let's see here merry christmas scar it's a book all right let's see what we got here merry christmas car we all know you love jelly but sometimes one jelly isn't enough so for this christmas year i have built you your own jelly clone factory oh my gosh head over to the south side of the big dig and see it for yourself this here is next level tango made me a cat farm in season five and i have been dreaming of having another one that is a lot of christmas creepers i really want to see what cleo built over there but i'm too scared so i'm going to close the gate and i'm going to call tango because i want to see how this farm is going to work tango i i just opened the present at your ginormous calendar fireplace yeah did you like it well it says something about a cap farm and you know how much i love cats i know i know because i actually couldn't find it where is it oh by the way don't don't drive close in my wake it's not safe anymore you've got explosive fart rock it's i lost a bet with etho i gotta i have to explode everywhere i go now that might be my favorite bet oh wait did you know that cubbie course root and he kept i heard about that and it's amazing so every time he eats he teleports yeah it's decked out when he's in the shopping district oh my gosh he had to escape decked out oh can you imagine if a ravager just ate his butt right that'd be so good dude you made ufos alright so this is your new shiny uh stray cat farm okay so basically you sit on that white wool block right there by the way it's also a very very bad iron farm so just there you go it's a pencil feel free to kill the golems more will spawn um so you stand right in there okay and the cats will spawn on these platforms here one of the four of them now it works better when there's less people on so you know if it's just you it's fine obviously um if you're the only one on you'll get a cat about every 60 seconds guaranteed wow every 60 seconds every 60 seconds you'll get a stray cat on one of these platforms and then they troop through all this water here then they poop down here and then they fall in this hole whoa and it also doubles as a water park yes i mean not very exhilarating one but you know teeth around oh don't follow that butt oh i'm not gonna die oh oh no then go didn't go tango i can't die i basically have bambi's forest in my inventory right now i send you a pearl if you want to purl out of there maybe oh okay well done well done so what's going on down there it was like a redstone shot yeah yeah come here we're not done come here so the cats now go right in here oh jelly's face you got a little jelly face yup oh dude i didn't even i mean i landed on the ufo platforms i didn't know there was a jelly in a collar yeah yeah and then look come on inside come on inside oh that's a little jelly box for you it's even more jelly yeah it's totally jelly inside here little little fake jelly face oh oh authentic jelly bits yeah that's way too accurate so check it out all right now there was cast in there so the cats obviously do despawn if you leave the area but what you have here is basically like 13 slots so as you're afk the cats will come in and they'll start filling up these slots here one at a time okay starting at the right okay and then they're trapped and they can't move and if you see a cat that you want you just go point cat falls out cat comes out now you got your own cat that you can tame or whatever you probably want to tame them before you press the button it's probably a better idea but does that make sense yes that is really cool that they all fall in their little cat house you get a little you get a little jelly dispensing machine you know it's great oh my god this button this button over here is when you want to basically like reset the system like if you're like i don't want any of these cats and i mean of course you wouldn't kill them but if they were released or something right right you would then press this button here which like resets all the things but now the first one will fall back in here again oh dude this is the ultimate cat house this is amazing it's amazing yeah it's pretty amazing i'm very very pleased with how it turned out and yet the race should be pretty good i think oh dude how it works yes i don't have i don't i only have jelly like i don't have any other cats so this oh every cats to get all of them too is this the first cat enjoying the water park the catwater for first contestant it's a little kitty slide i mean it's not it's not very fast but you know i feel like it's faster than uh pacific's slides i've partaken in in their slides and uh without a boat it's a six out of ten and with a boat it's an eight out of ten yeah this is a 11 out of 10 because it has cats it's it's it's perfect yeah tango it's working i rarely see redstone that works for me so seeing it work is a true treat little meow meows so yeah like if you wanted one of these you just tame it right and then just be like there you go freedom it's a little kitty pez dispenser she looked back at us and was like suckers uh i'm out of here i don't know yeah right oh there you go this is this is awesome can i show you something now absolutely yeah oh oh tango oh i was just about to say welcome to christmas surprise land and all those guys surprised you get to die right okay and now we cleared out those uh phantom reindeers no no there's another one i don't know what's worse the phantoms are our aim it's a wintry wonderland just a couple days late oh it's amazing scar how do you do this that just appeared like in the last four hours when did you make this uh last night and then today oh can i go see yes you know it's it's it's a it's an interesting treat it's a curvy tree it's uh it it was all improv so it kind of has like a little curve to it a little a little more shape it's got character look at the snow this is amazing so you know here's the thing like i don't like the christmas trees that are they're just like perfect triangles and perfect yeah you got look at this guy he's all bent and everything he's great all christmas trees are imperfect and they you know they come from oh my god the fart rockets are so funny that is amazing but here come come get your christmas present you're the first one to get christmas presents all right all right there's a yeah i'm glad somebody got the present that's that's super sweet dude actually before christmas right yeah it's the day before christmas yeah so uh that's amazing yeah there's the tree i'm dude i'm so glad that you said that about the christmas trees because i think the same thing they're all like a cone they're boring yeah yeah yeah yeah no they got to be all bent and irregular and have branches that stick out and stuff yeah this is fantastic this is fantastic awesome i'm glad you like it well done we'll take a go merry christmas happy holidays merry christmas to you thank you so much so much for the cat farm it's going to be amazing i can't wait i can't wait to see all the kitties goodbye i cannot be more happy with the cat farm tango once again did a phenomenal job with game mechanics and implementation just fantastic but what do you guys think of our christmas decorations i was so happy tango thought the tree had some character because that's what i was trying to achieve with its curvy lines and of course the town hall with the snow and icicles hanging off and to top that all off of course is our oversized garland with diamond accents and this might have been a few months ago i told b-dubs that we would decorate the town hall with diamonds when christmas came around find that clip for me because that is another campaign promise met by your favorite mayor scar and i hope you guys have a wonderful christmas a happy hanukkah a happy holidays and hopefully a much better new year as 2020 was very rough on us all but if we keep our head up looking towards the future because there was always a great big beautiful tomorrow just around the corner and i had to hollow out the interior of the throne there to uh pay for the christmas decorations but i think that was diamonds well spent
