Hermitcraft 7: The Overpowered Farm (Episode 40)

ladies and gentlemen welcome back to Herman Kraft last time we made a monorail that goes through our base which you can see right here here at commis and yeah we can actually ride this and use this go back and forth from different areas inside the pyramid so pretty nice pretty nice use a funny block the fourths go back and forth just like so so we made that last time we also made a basalt farm and I think what we're gonna do today is we're gonna start off by decorating the area next to the monorail here so we're gonna make this a scarab enclosure sorry did I say scarab I meant scarab I I had a lot of people saying I pronounced scarab wrong last time I pronounced that scarab which it is not pronounced that way it's actually a scarab so yeah that is how you pronounce that word and yeah we're gonna make a scarab enclosure here using a lot of basalt which we should have a good amount of now now that we have the basalt farm up which we also made last time so yeah we got plenty of basalt here now so let's go ahead and make this enclosure I'm thinking we'll probably go with basalt base like this will be like the primary block you know we might turn some of these a little bit just so it's a little bit you know it's a little bit varied up we'll probably also use some polished assault as well in certain spots and then also maybe like some andesite some Granite's some lanterns for lighting and such and yeah we'll try and make it like a little bit of like hilly and we'll probably also put like fossils in here like bone blocks I think that would be really cool so we'll do that for sure and so yeah let me go ahead and decorate this area we're gonna make a scarab scarab enclosure rather I'm gonna mess it up multiple times I guarantee it but that will make a scarab enclosure here and yeah we'll see what it looks like once I'm done all right ladies and gentlemen we got the scarab enclosure now completed so it's looking like this you see we went with the very rocky very rough and almost like a overworld wasteland type of enclosure here for our scarabs so we have you know of course the basalt down there we some Polish basalt we got some granite we got some andesite and we got some coarse dirt just the dirt you see down there so you have very few plants actually no plants at all down here but that's exactly what I wanted and we have some fossils sticking out here you see we got like a little like Mastodon skull type thing over here if I make my way back here you can see a little more clearly like there's like the eyes there's like the nose area and then the tusks come out like this we got a little small rib cage we got a spine over here we got a significantly bigger rib cage right there we got a little bit of like a vertebra and we got like a small pair of tusks coming out of the ground over here so yeah that's that we also have the lanterns on change so that prevents other mobs from spawning we got a couple buttons down as well to act like little rocks and things there so yeah I think it looks pretty cool I think it looks really nice and I think this will work perfectly fine for our scarab enclosure so I think next thing we do is actually go ahead and put some scarabs in there so we're going to use endermite for our scarabs so we need to go and grab some ender pearls and we need to just spam some ender pearls in hopes of an endermite spawning in and then we got a name that ender mites all right so we've grabbed bunch of ender pearls here and let's go ahead and get some name tags now cuz we're gonna nametag these under mites I think we'll probably put like four four on one side and four on the other side I think we'll be good and so we're gonna name these guys if I can find an anvil yup there we go and name these guys simply scarab scarab there we go beautiful okay so now all we got to do is spam into pearls in here and hopes that an endermite will spawn and yeah no other mobs should be able to spawn down here so let's just hope that was that was actually insanely lucky hang on please guy not yet okay there you go he's in there let me make sure I don't have thorns on anything oh I do right there so let's take those things off and we'll just continue to try to not in here - these scarabs there we go alright guys so we got three scarabs now in the enclosure we got one right there we got one over here and there's another one right there just wandering toward me and then we have three on the opposite side here see there's two very close to me they're actually tracking me right now and there's one source the other one at the other one is coming now the other one should be here somewhere one two three he's hiding behind a block yep there he is there he is yep so we got three on each side I think that's good enough for now I was gonna do four but I want to see first how long these guys can actually survive because although like other mobs can't spawn I think Enderman might be able to teleport in from the desert outside of this on occasion so if that's the case we don't wanna put too many in there at once but periodically throughout the season we may come back and check on them let me bring up the population of scarabs so guys now that the scarab enclosure is completed and our scarabs are wandering around inside of there I think it's now time to go ahead and I think we're gonna make some things happen in this general area I think we're gonna first of all down here by the desert temple put in some water I think we're gonna put in like a like a three wide water I guess moat basically so yeah we're gonna have like water here and all the way around the outside of this desert temple then I think we're gonna have some grass here with some trees so like we're gonna have like a small forest surrounding this desert temple just because it'd be nice to get some greenery in here and then we're gonna put two giant murals on the wall right here so it's not just gonna be a sandstone wall we're gonna have like a giant mural I'm thinking we put a mural of a scarab actually so we'll have like a an ancient scarab mural this is gonna be based on an image that someone sent me for something that I'd like to see it - for an entrance but I think it fits better right here as a mural and then we're gonna make sort of like a modern scarab mural over here that's going to be sort of representative of our ender mites which can we see him from here yeah there's one right there it's cool to see him just like scurrying about here and there in different spots so yeah let's go ahead and make those murals and let's go ahead and also add in the greenery over by the desert temple alright ladies and gentlemen so we got ourselves a couple of essentially display cases of some scarabs so if we make our way over here this is actually the one that was sent by a viewer by the name of Kara in Essaouira so thank you Karen for this design works very nicely here and if you guys have any designs of things you think would fit in the pyramid do feel free to send them to me on Twitter I do look at a lot of them and yeah might not use them immediately but yeah potentially in the future if we have space for it and it fits really well like this one does right here so thank you Karen for this and this is what I'm calling the ancient scarab has long legs vivid colors and it's made of gold so yeah that is our ancient scarab display case right there and then I have a sort of modern version of this modern scarab shorter legs more uniform colors right here and obviously this looks quite significantly more similar to our actual scarabs down here which are there's one of them yep crawling about right down there looks very similar to the endermite so yeah pretty cool pretty cool so that is the modern scare of a display case right there and of course yeah one with the concrete the gray concrete and light gray glass panes disorder like frame everything in and there's also great glass panes on the side as far as the aesthetic goes and what was some stripped crimson wood which I think looks really nice down here it goes well with both the end stone bricks and also the stripped acacia logs which we use behind this ancient scarab so yeah pretty awesome pretty awesome also we got the area around the desert temple now for staff I'd I guess is what we'll call it so yeah we got a forest now that sort of goes back a little ways back into the back here we got some leaves some birch leaves and stuff down all over the place here some plant life coming out of this I should probably also put like see grass and stuff and maybe kelp in here I just sort of liven it up a little bit because there's just just the leaves right now but yeah this just adds a little bit of greenery to the area which I thought was sorely lacking so I think it looks pretty cool and yeah you can see some leaves coming out here and there there's more forst forst at area on this sign right here and of course we got the tall grass and the flowers and such in there so pretty nice everything is spawn proof because I put in some glowstone underneath the leaves so that's where all the light is coming from it's always a challenge to light up stuff in here you need a lot of light blocks to make this happen but so far so good at least so with a little bit of stuff done here today I think we're now ready to head to the nether because I want to set up a obsidian farm that's right we're making an obsidian farm in the nether and you can probably guess how we're doing that we have a gold farm currently which produces tons and tons of gold for us but we're not really utilizing it to its full potential so we're gonna change that today by setting up a piggelin bartering farm on the nether roof I believe so we're actually gonna head out to the nether biome so we'll just fly on out here around and up and there we go come on into our beautiful another room and our another portal there we are alright so we're gonna head to the nether and we're gonna set up a piggelin bartering area and you want to try and automate the whole system so we want to try and automate the collection and the dispersion of the gold to the pig lines because that way now we can just stand there and then get free stuff basically piggelin a bartering is probably the most overpowered mechanic that's ever been introduced in the history of the game so I would expect it to be nerfed somewhat soon but until it is we're going to take full advantage of it so yeah let's go ahead and head on to the nether roof I believe the portal is or the ladder rather is this way and we'll see if we can find ourselves a crimson biome a crimson forest biome on the nether roof alright guys so we're here at the gold farm which you can see we have upgraded since we first built this thing so we have many more spawning pads now and we also added some glass up there to concentrate spawns in the farm so does is much faster than it was when we first built it after 1/16 came out so we should have plenty of gold and all these chests here as you can see so yeah very nice very nice and then same in this one yeah so plenty of gold so I'm glad we're building this Pinguin bartering system and I think we're going to build this just outside of the gold farms influence so we can easily fly gold over to the bartering area so I picked the spot out over here in a crimson forest that we can make this thing so all these torches sort of mark out the crimson forest area if I hit f3 you can see biome minecraft crimson forest on the left hand side there so yeah this is where we're gonna make our bartering system our bartering station and so yeah basically I want you know gold to automatically be dispensed to the Penguins and then their items to be automatically collected so all I have to do is put gold ingots into a chest basically is what I want so we're gonna make a system like that and then we got a you know get piglets to spawn in and nametag them so that yeah they're always here and yeah they can continuously barter so yeah that's the plan so let's go ahead and make that system right here bartering system now complete ladies and gentlemen here's what it's looking like this is a pretty straightforward system so basically everything is stored in these double chests right down here so this is where all of the bartered loot is gonna come and then basically the way we start this system is we come up to the top here just like so we put our gold into this chest here it'll filter down into the dropper below right there and then once I flip this lever on that goal will be dispensed on to this honey block right here this honey block is not a full block so pig lands which are gonna be standing on the block right there that light blue glazed terracotta block they can grab the gold from here and then they'll drop the loot and we pushed out by this piston at which point it drops down onto the ender chest here it's pushed out by the honey which automatically aligns it to the ice and hoppers here so we can get sucked up and then the slime block pushes it out and speeds it along here so that's basically how the whole thing works so let's just see that in action so I'm going to need to actually open up a spot right here I think yeah I'm gonna I'm gonna open up a spot right here so I can throw items in to demonstrate because I don't yet have any pig lands in here that's the only thing we still need so if I turn this on get down here gold is being dispensed so pig lens will be picking up this gold just like I'm picking it up right now they will then dispense items down here so let's just throw in some repeaters down there there go the repeaters let me push down and they get zipped along the ice the ice pathway and we should see there's a repeater there and there's a repeater right there awesome so it works so yeah now all we need to do is get just get up here and turn this thing off real quick all we need to do is get some pig lines standing in this block right here so we actually have to get rid of the repeater temporarily and so we need pig ones like right here I'm guessing probably the easiest way to do this is just to put you know something like probably something like a slime block in here or maybe we can just like filter them in if we use sole torches potentially I'm not sure we'll have to come up with something maybe I'll build like a platform up here and then use salt torches to sort of funnel them down and we'll have them maybe land on a slime block that sounds like it could work yeah I'm gonna try that and see hopefully this will work we'll just put this in there for now and box this up and then just bring this like all the way up essentially like so until we make a platform on top so give me a second we make this and hopefully we can get some pig lines in here well we got some spawns up here but it is not the pig lines we were hoping for it's actually a couple of hog ones and it looks like there's a baby hog one right there so let's just shoot these guys down there we go our IP today at Hoagland well it looks like we got ourselves some spawns but not exactly the type we want we got we got some hog ones here it looks like so I'm just gonna jump off the side here maybe they will follow as well Oh yep a follower they follow one so that's good we we can actually get hog ones here that's actually pretty useful well we're looking for the piglets not the hog ones so we're gonna take these dudes out all right guys we found a piglet we found a piglet so change this guy's name to bordering piglet there we go and we will grab our soul torches and hopefully convince him to go into this hole here maybe we just give him a shelf oh no come on guy here let's do this we'll put this here okay we want to focus him in here this might cause him to panic a little bit too much yeah he's definitely panicking go in oh he's right there aha I thought he was gonna fall in right there okay this might be a little bit too much let's just alright I almost got him he's in he's in there he goes okay he made it all right one down and probably about nine more to go we probably get at least like ten or so in there so that should work I think I'm gonna leave some torches here because yeah these are not strong enough to prevent piglets from spawning and also hog loans from spawning actually so we can actually like leave a whole line on this side to sort of push the pig ones this way if they spawn on here so let's just fly up again see if we can get ourselves some more spawns down here that pass looks like did not get one let's try and go up a little higher here any luck nope you know what we might want to just out there we go yep we didn't get some nice okay all right let's nametag all these dudes bordering penguin ordering piglet okay so now we just shove them in all right let's push them in get in there get in there there we go there's another one in very good that's two three there we go this baby pig Lin riding a baby hog Lin chasing me they're stacking up they're stacking up oh yeah they can only become more powerful this way I don't know if I hit the Hoglund if it'll actually anger the piglets so I'm gonna try and just avoid this guy for a little bit I've already named a couple of these guys on the platform you can see huh so we should hopefully just be able to there we go take this dude out when he's not close to one of the Penguins there he goes oh he's not he's not dead yet this little dude still wants to ride him it's kind of doable though I gotta say it is kind of adorable alright guys so we got 15 now we got 14 14 murdering penguins down there you can see just a massive piglet down there you can see the tops of their heads and one guy has a killer helmet on still got this guy who stole a honey block for me but that's fine and yeah we had some soul torches here just pushing them this way whenever they spawned in and everything so yeah that works quite nicely it's pretty easy to get them in there like so so now we got to do is hook up that final repeater down below and we should be good to go so I'm gonna take down this whole platform here and I'll be right back all right so here we go we're gonna go ahead and start the system now I think everything should be working so open this up that'll all transfer down get some more of this gold in here go and a little bit okay perfect all right we can actually fit a little bit more in so let's do so real quick come over here that should be enough fill everything up and we shall see how this thing goes there there's our chests full of it all right let's start this baby let's let's go over here I need to make like a platform and stuff here but should be fine all right let's do it so let's see Gold's coming out you can see they're picking it up there's some stuff dropping in and I think it's working there's some gravel coming in here there's some potions of fire resistance there's some soul sand there's some low stone or some obsidian there's some soul speed and chanted books and spring crying obsidian nether bricks hope there's a track help I missed in there string in here courts down here for courts fantastic yeah you can see some stuff sliding all the way down it looks like I might need something down here just in case stuff makes it all the way down without being aligned properly but I think it should be for the most part aligned properly yeah look at all the stuff we're already getting oh my god jeez oh baby some iron in there some ender pearls fire charges magma creams so we'll be able to make mega bloks iron nuggets yeah this is great all right we're just gonna let this run for a little bit and yeah we'll wait until it's totally out of gold so it appears that the gold has not run out of the chest so we had again one single double chest of gold and so we are going to get up here turn off the Machine and off the clock here there we go actually both clocks here there we go all right and let's see what we got for just one chest of gold oh yeah oh yeah oh baby look at that gravel nether brick quartz leather fire charges potions enchanted books with so speed on it we got it all here guys we got it all string and your pearls for quartz magma cream oh my god so many double chests jeez jeez let's see that's ten double chests right there there's 11 so 11 that's probably 12 these two combined is probably 13 14 15 16 maybe 16 double chests plus at diminishing returns coming down here plus what's ever at the end here and these are empty still but Wow like 16 17 double chests of a whole bunch of different types of items including glowstone which is great because we can then wait make more spectral arrows awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome I definitely think this is probably going to be patched at some point because that's a little bit powerful man yeah that's that's super-powerful if you have a gold farm like we have right over there but man a lot of good stuff so yeah a lot of a lot of resources we need to take back to our base and yeah we can come here and get more anytime just by putting gold in that chest they're so absolutely fantastic piggelin farm complete and with that guys we're gonna have to call an episode for today you can see we got the piggelin bordering systems still going in the background here you see the items sliding down you can actually see them getting picked up right here as they sort of filter into the hoppers so that's kind of cool but anyways that'll be it
