Great way to cap off Halloween. I'm glad we have more of this series to look forward to, and the animation is still lovely all-round. The new voices will admittedly take some getting used to. No real flak for the new voice actors, I'm just so used to the pilot's that it's a bit of a jarring shift. They're fine otherwise, though I wouldn't mind if they dialed back on Millie's Southern accent just a bit. I liked how the southern twang of the original was a little more subtle.
Really liked the teacher's demon design, and how they shifted from her backstory into revealing her new form. Loved her line delivery of, "She Is Not A Hero!"
The actual mission was fun, even if the cannibal aspect was a little out of nowhere it was a humorous bait-and-switch conflict playing off the whole "you don't know who's innocent" joke. I'm curious if they'll explore the idea of demons being a known thing in the real world at all, or if the series' tone is tongue-in-cheek enough that people on Earth just kind of casually accept it as a part of the setting's chaotic nature.
Mille and Moxxie's interactions are still super cute. I hope they didn't completely dial back on Moxxie's snark for the rest of the show though. I appreciate him as the more morally conscious member of the group, but I also liked that he wasn't afraid to speak up and tell Blitzo off for some of his dumber ideas and weirder behavior in the pilot.
All-in-all good to see these characters again. Props to the team for all their hard work.
Is this the first time a character has been seen both before and after death?
The animation quality is so much better. Really makes me excited to see how Hazbin will be handled with A24
Were people really expecting an airing show to be as dense as the pilot, the team is clearly talented but that's a rough ask. The episode was great though, they really nailed comedic-rage tone. I don't mind the va changes but I wish Millie's accent was a little less thick and Stolas' was a bit more royally flamboyant.
graphic violence, flashing lights, horny humans, horny demons
i'm fuckin sold
This is best gift in Halloween
When I tell you I screamed
I screamed.
Huh...that was pretty cool.
The way people were going on about the new voices I was expecting something really different but Millie just sounds deeper pitched to me.
Stolas is a definite change but I can get used to it.
Over all I liked it
Also vivianne voiced the random cashier girl lol
