hey everyone welcome into another edition of hello world today we're going to do a different kind of guide where it's mainly about Bard and about supporting as a Bard we're going to touch lightly on how to build one and how to play one and I hope uh hope this helps a lot of people out let's get to it for our stats it's pretty much Swift across the board with spec on the neck uh spec Swift ideally on the bracelet and Mana back that is something that's very very good uh because we do have Mana problems and even with Max MP you're probably still going to experience Mana problems if you're pressing all your buttons on cool down so that's something I like to have but mandatory I say would just be swift spec and then try to get something like expose or dagger or something like that and then you want your pet set to Swift uh for Swift requirements you can run a full Swift setup with seven gems and have great up time uh you can do a spec ring with eight or nine CDR Gems or a spec earring with level 10 cool down reduction something to note is that I did mention putting in a spec piece on the ring or ear based on what cooldown reduction gems you have uh in almost all cases I would highly suggest not doing that and just going with the full Swift build and you'll experience a much more fluid play style and have better up times overall until you get really really really good and have uh a strong understanding of the class and how to play it core Engravings are going to be expert Max MP desperate salvation heavy armor and Awakening uh there's going to be some some scenarios where you might need vital Point hit and in those cases you generally drop Max MP for it for a plus one uh crisis evasion is really good especially when you get to theine in the later game for Elixir we run luminary as the best in slot you can run advance or faith um I wouldn't stress too hard on Elixir don't worry about rrolling everything just to get the perfect thing but if you want to luminary is the ideal one for our default build which is mainly for meter gen maximum buff up time and just in general which you should probably be using running sonatina with quick prep five no brand increased Melody Five Heavenly tune with quick prep five tough tune intense tune harp of Rhythm with summoning will five Melody increase and not brand rap city with quick prep five stabilized light and light of protection five Wind of music with quick prep five Melody increase 5 and wind of protection five Sonic vibration with tenacity brilliant wave wide angle attack Prelude of storm with quick prep five Melody Increase five and powerful powerful Prelude you can run that one at level one doesn't really matter uh Guardian tune with tenacity endless protection at level five and wind of protection now Guardian tune does have a Mana down tripod as well as a harp you can run those if you start running into Mana issues uh but the this the ones you see here will be the default build first tagger build uh most things are going to be about the same with some a few swaps uh the first will be Sound Shock we're putting in there with maintained explosion level five sacred shock and rapid fire down there you see sound holic with sound concentration five sustained enhancement five and focus fire five uh some of the damage tripods there don't really matter but you know might as well have them the other tripods we're going to be changing around uh if you notice on Guardian tune and harp of Rhythm I've showed the mind enhancement tripod that will lower the Mana cost uh the risk of that is on Guardian tune you can be interrupted without tenacity so you have to be extra careful when casting it and you lose a little bit of your brand uptime if you or Auto brand uptime if we take off the summoning whe tripon but those are options you can use to try to uh reduce the Mana usage on this build on the first build and the second build I did put Rhythm Buckshot at the bottom uh that is if you need an additional counter countering on Bard is pretty tough with Prelude of the storm uh so I tend to recommend adding that in if you absolutely have to counter uh holding Prelude as your biggest meter generator kind of hurts but it's something you have to do sometimes playing as a support can be kind of stressful U but once you break it down a little bit and we'll do that throughout this video here it gets a little bit easier to understand and bear uh but the most important things are to keep up your brand keep up your attack power buff and try to give as much identity to your team as you can while shielding them and healing in emergencies first thing we're going to cover is attack power Buffs attack power Buffs for Bard are Heavenly tune and Sonic vibration Heavenly tune is going to give Mana back and attack speed this should be used on cool down regardless of anything else going on this will provide your group with a buff and a 24 M radius and yeah use it on cool down now Sonic vibration is your second one ideally you want to syn your skills up so that if I hit Heavenly this is going to be expiring here when this is about to reach 1 second you want to drop your Sonic vibration on the ground so Cass I'm in this and then when this is fading my heavenly tune is coming back up I press that and that's the basic cycle these two skills do not stack ever for Sonic vibration placement there's a couple ways to go about it easy say Center Mass on Boss this covers your front attackers and back attackers with some room on the sides if your hit master classes aren't quite playing by the rules uh in my opinion most classes need to be playing on the boss and you as a barard need to be playing on the boss to maximize your meter generation because you have a very small radius and if the players want to get shielding from you and buffing from you they should be within the radius of you uh in some newer player cases you're going to see them like way out here um so you can try to P pivot your Sonic vibration like that uh but I think in the current game State most people know to be uh close to their support and how to get Buffs from them one more thing to note on attack power Buffs is Sonic vibration does offer push immunity so if you're about to get hit you can start casting it to save yourself hold still and get some stuff moving Heavenly tune can be interrupted so you need to be very very careful since this is the important one this is giving your group Mana back as well as attack speed let's say and it's the radius one so it's going to hit anyone no matter where they are in that 24 M radius so watch the boss's patterns be extra careful with the spell this is very important and casting Heavenly tune on cool down is for the best regardless of if you've managed to place your Sonic vibration let's say there's a high movement Place mechanics happening and you're in this situation where my heavenly tune just came back up but I didn't cast Sonic vibration yet don't bother just hit Heavenly tune again next up let's talk about branding branding is a debuff we apply to the boss and increases party damage by 10% uh the main source of that from Bard right now is probably harp of Rhythm and what this does is it continuously attacks the boss applying the brand for you so you can actually go off and do other things or maintain your other Buffs that we talked about earlier as far as a second skill to pair with that because it is not enough to get you 100% uptime on its own we can run something like soundshock or sonatina sonatina offers more meter gen and destruction Sound Shock offers a little bit more stagger uh with like an overwhelm let's say or you can put purify on it so up to you which one you use let's talk about shielding now bards have a couple different ways to apply shielding to their party the first up is wind music wind music is a short radius shield and it's also a high source of meter generation for our identity so you want to use that within range of the boss always so you can actually take a step back and it will still hit the boss and apply a little shield around you in a radius for people that are there now most people should be playing on the boss if they're not that's probably their mistake don't worry about running out to Shield them uh the next thing we have is Guardian tune Guardian tune does apply a buff to the party members two of them one is a damage reduction wall that's on 30% reduction the other is going to be a status ailment block so if a debuff was about to be applied to the party it will take that debuff off or the buff off The Bard and block that effect once it expires it also gives us a shield so if we watch here in just a few seconds these will expire and then we're going to get a shield now those two things are going to be used on cool down like I said earlier in the video always be casting keep these things on cool down uh those are your two prime sources the next thing which we don't always run or I don't always run if I'm running in a party on homework content that we're just kind of flying through I'm going to run more meter generation for damage but like on item level hell content or current hard content I would say Run rap city in in most cases so now Rap City can be used in probably three ways first is the selfish way where I'm about to get hit I don't want to be knocked down I'm a Bard I'm just going to sit here and channel this and absorb it the next way it can be used is if a bar a boss is starting a pattern that would hit the party and they can greed damage through it I'm just going to cast this and channel it wherever they're standing and hopefully they're in it too or if there's an upcoming mechanic you know is about to hit you can also start channeling it preemptively on the area it's going to hit so that if your party crosses that path they're going to be safe uh one more way you can use it would be if a party member's on the ground they're about to get targeted or they're being targeted you can to start channeling on the body on the ground and hopefully you help them with that last hit the final form of shielding would be the Awakening which we'll touch on momentarily next up let's talk about meter generation meter generation is something aart does by being in melee on the boss and casting our skills right now the main sources that be like wind and music Prelude to storm sonatina in this build I have on right now uh so what you do is if you notice every time I cast something we gain a little meter right and as we continue to cycle skills each thing that hits gives us a little bit more some more than others depending on if it has like the uh Melody increased tripod on it so right now I have one bar what you can do with a one bar is send a 5% damage increase or a heal uh as far as the healing goes on Bard you always always always and only send a one bar buff now if you're ever in a situation where a party member will die and you're at two bars trying to hold for a three bar just send the heal like save your party members dead DPS do no DPS uh but that being said what I like to do on my barard is I'll continue to generate here and at this point I'm just sending skills so pay no mind to the actual sequence of what I'm doing once I reach two bars I send a buff that's a 10% damage buff that's about what an artist or Pal gives every time theirs is up and the reason I do this is cuz a lot of classes are uptime damage based and as long as I can keep up with them and continue to send stuff can also send my Awakening for one bar here I can just keep giving uptime Buffs and you can reach a pretty high uptime on your identity doing this uh the only time I would say not to do that is if a huge damage window's coming up where the boss takes increased damage and you can save for a three bar you should probably do it uh but the reason I do two bars is because if I if I'm ever short I can just send a heal instead of being at two almost three and then sending a two bar heal it feels more wasteful that way as far as when to use your Awakenings on a support uh The Shield is invaluable during like on item level content uh certain Dam like huge damage Windows going out to the party you can use it uh for homework I tend to use my Awakenings for more meter generation you can just kind of use it on cool down to try to get high up times if your identity Buffs for damage increases uh but you know if you want to go into specifics of which content and and which Windows to use your Awakening on for maximum potential of protecting your party I would pop in stream sometime or talk to like an actual support main uh those would be your best resources there now for an actual like just live example of what I see as being a good air quote rotation let's call a rotation just like a DPS would would be to apply your brand get your buff out first always we're going to send a buff here get our shielding out and we're going to continue to send everything pretty much on cool down we can see the attack power buff expiring you can also watch the cool down of your heavenly to kind of determine when you need to send your Sonic vibration and once you get the sequence started it's pretty much cast on cool down and may we're about to send another buff out I'm going to reapply attack power buff Synergy I'm going to awaken right here that way nothing Falls and now we're ready to cast the next Sonic vibration next thing I'd like to cover is push immunities and how to use them the guardian tune itself while I'm in the animation will prevent me from getting pushed around so here's an example I get hit and here it is now hitting me on a regular pattern I get pushed back next up would be Sonic vibration while I'm casting I don't get moved and here's an example of me now getting moved Rap City also has the same effect where while I'm channeling it I don't get moved and that's what a push immunity is you can also use your space bar or Awakening there um now something to note I talked about it earlier something like Heavenly tune you do not have Push Immunity on so if I cast it out here great I didn't get interrupted my part's buffed now if I try to cast it wman melee of the boss and it's about to start a [Music] move I can get knocked and it'll interrupt the effect hold on one more time there we go see and that means my I didn't send the buff out my part's going to be sad they're not going to get that Mana regeneration once they start to fall behind on Mana reg regeneration they're going to yell at you and no one likes that so keep in mind our different push immunities what has push immunity and what doesn't all right just wrap it up thanks so much for watching I'm not a support main but like I said uh I play as support and I play it on on the higher level of the game right now uh me playing as support and understanding how supports work make me a better DPS player because I know what supports can do and what they're capable of uh if you want to discuss the guide talk about anything feel free to pop in the twitch Channel anytime uh or just drop comments here uh but yeah I'll see you all around take care
