Heart-warming moment Damian Aspinall's wife Victoria is accepted by wild gorillas OFFICIAL VIDEO

uh we're trying to find uh jalta and emma or bims as his nickname is and i haven't seen them for four years so today i'd like to try and find them we've no idea where they are it's a huge area to try and find them i'm hoping to introduce them to victoria my wife but she's never ever had any contact with growers so it's going to be very interesting [Music] now they're much bigger they're 16 and 18 year old male gorillas so it's slightly scary and i've never been in contact with a gorilla before so hopefully if everything works out well i can go and see them and be in contact with them but we'll see [Music] we spent some time on the river looking for the grillers and eventually we had to use the drones [Music] it wasn't long before the drones found the grillers on the edge of the impassa river [Music] be lovely for them to accept victoria i think it will depend very much on them seeing victoria's part of my group [Music] [Applause] [Music] i decided to gently ease my way ashore i didn't want to frighten them and i wanted to make sure they were relaxed [Music] i can jump in [Music] stay there i was looking for a sign that would reassure me that they were not going to be hostile or aggressive he's just given me a little gurgle which is his first sign first sign that he's being friendly you want to say hello to victoria come a bit closer with me so i'm trying to just get victoria a little bit closer to him so he can see her and i'm hoping that he'll accept that she's part of my group and not be threatened by her maybe just come and sit on the edge here a little bit [Music] just come sit here there you are come just sit here he's just vocalized at victoria now very friendly gurgle so i think he's accepted her we called it a day but the next morning we were so excited to come back and see our friends [Music] very soon we realized that something special was going to happen he's going to come up it's okay he's your boy lovely boy emma was immediately captivated by victoria he's a sweet boy hold on he's looking so sweetly yes that's he's just talking today see he wants you to hold him there you are oh look he's really loving that that's so sweet he absolutely loves that okay all right he's a big boy yeah that's so [Music] clever i think i've lost my wife [Music] oh my gosh it's so sweet [Music] i think he's completely in love [Music] he's smitten watching emma and victoria was something incredibly beautiful these beautiful animals so noble so gentle just shows one must never underestimate how extraordinarily beautiful these gorillas are you

As a zookeeper I have worked a little with gorillas. Personally I wouldn’t say they a scary but intimidating. A fully grown silverback has biceps you wouldn’t believe. Out silver back once wasn’t happy that I cleaned up around their environment maybe he had a bad day what ever but he threw an orange at me and it missed me by maybe an inch!! It would have knocked me out cold.

I know they're professionals, but I'm very impressed that they went through with this. Things could've looked a lot different if the gorilla's didn't accept them.
