It is a not problem with an international permit because you are foreign but who signed it? The stamp! The stamp! Come you're making it up. This paper is correct Sangha Lodge - CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
Season 7 - Eps.79 Good morning Internet, it is 9:30 in the morning and welcome back to the channel I am leaving Central African Republic
and for the last hour and a half I have been on this boat together with Alaska, look at that Now I've been super lucky because the Sangha Lodge where I've been staying Um.. there's some new guests arriving from here, so this boat was going to pick up the new guests Um, and so they said like, oh you can just hitch a ride which is great so it saved me some bad road and it also saved me putting Alaska again in a little canoe to cross the river because I am crossing back into Cameroon today I'm on my way to the Republic of Congo but to reach the border I have to ride a little bit again in Cameroon. Well, little bit is actually 266 kilometers We've just did immigration and customs on the Central African Republic side and now we are arriving in Libongo Which is the town in Cameroon and so I have to do all the procedure here to enter And um yeah, and then I'm off to go. Oh, and I need to get fuel here, I should not forget that Uh, fill up on fuel and then hit the road Okay, I will go around, yeah I am on the Cameroon side. Just going to immigration now Somehow Here is immigration Okay There it is Dumty dum Hello! Hello sir, how are you? You are a strong woman So I go in to town - Take this one
- Yeah And then right, okay got it Goodbye! Have a nice journey! Thank you! Good luck today Thank you. Take care Until we meet again! Bye bye Well, I am back in Cameroon That is good news. Now I just need to get some fuel There's no station but they should be selling in some bottles apparently Petrol? Hello! Petrol? Okay How much -- per liter? How many francs per liter?
- 1000 francs, one liter Okay, 6 liters 6 liters, 6000 Yes Yes, I entered in Nola Bayanga.. and now Congo Yeah yeah Come on, come on, come on Let's see how far I can make it today. Ideally, I would actually love to make it to Congo today Because I know that on the Congo side in Ouésso, there are ATMs And I can get money and here I can't And when I left this morning from the lodge I thought I still had enough money to also you know, stay one day in Cameroon if I had to But everywhere I had to pay. I had to
pay the police I had to pay the immigration I had to pay the customs officer They all ask money for the stamps and.. you have to pay, you got to pay So now uh yeah.. a big chunk of the
money that I had left Has gone into the pockets of the guys at the.. yeah, at the officials So anyway, I still managed to buy 6 liters of fuel And yeah, I'll just see. It's now at 11:50 so Hello Me, I understand English small
- Small Okay good Now can I see your papers
- Yes, of course And the motorcycle paper is where? I enter now. Yes, yeah today here in Libongo And I go to towards Congo You don't have insurance? Sorry? Insurance I have And the drivers license? Oh Your drivers license. It's good to drive in your country, but not to drive in Cameroon Yes I have another one This one international This is signed by who? This is an international driver license Yes I don't deny that, but who signed it, there is no signature from the authority Who signed it Come on I have all the papers Here, there is no signature from the authority Here is no signature, it is filled but not signed I have the international driver license, it's valid everywhere I don't deny that I don't deny that It is an international license, you can go everywhere I understand what I say You don't need a local stamp Who signed it? Who signed it? I don't refuse No, it doesn't work like that It is an international licence, and Cameroon maybe. Very well *inaudible* Where is the stamp? This one is the signature of the girl but where is the stamp? It is filled but where is the stamp? This is valid all over the world. I travel, you see my passport.. 60 country I can see Yes. I have all the papers. You ask me all the papers. I show you all the papers I don't refuse you have all the papers but stamp? I have all the papers man. It's.. all is correct. All is good It's not correct It is It's not correct It's correct Should I refuse because who signed that? All my papers are correct But approved by who? It is not a problem with an international permit because you are foreign but who signed it? The stamp! The stamp! Come. You are making it up. This paper is correct. You're not going to tell me anything otherwis. It is the correct paper, this is the paper, this is the paper So I See? See? Here is the signature and the stamp I'm going to put this back in here. And then I'm going to go because all the papers are correct You cannot tell me that they're not correct because they are correct. All of the papers are correct They are correct it It is It is valid I'm going to go to Congo Go to Congo Ah, you don't married? I just said hey, all these stamps are
good. All my papers are correct You're not going to tell me that my papers are not correct And I just start packing up and I just left I'm sorry I don't have any money left to to pay these guys And especially, not.. you know, if there's nothing Everything is correct. He's not going to tell me that my international driver licence needs some sort of stamp. It doesn't so.. I was like, I'm not having it, I'm not having it Okay, here the track is not completely dry yet So I can immediately feel it being slippery again so Be a bit more careful I now took the track towards Congo but the main track kind of goes north back into Cameroon So uh.. I think not so many people pass this one You know what? These are elephant tracks All of this is elephant They've been walking on the road Ah, they walked on this side for a while. I think it's only one elephant I only see tracks of one Here again. See Here Oh, here you see dung. See Definitely elephant! There are tons of tracks here too They like these roads of course 'cause they can move a lot quicker then going through the bush Now the tracks are gone Big pile of dung That doesn't look too fresh Wow, this is a pretty crazy stretch I have not seen anyone There are no villages at all in 90 kilometers I think, it's only elephant forest See and elephant dung everywhere and tracks Some parts are okay but some are.. This stuff which is not so easy If I don't see any trace of elephants for the next 5 kilometers I'm going to stop and eat my sandwich 'Cause then I don't think there will be any elephants here Okay, I think it's fine here.. to have a small stop Now that was a good lunch That will get me going until hopefully the border with Congo It's a 15 kilometers more on this track and then I will reach a bigger road But I think that bigger road is only for a tiny bit and then I'm already I think going again on the dirt track probably to the border.
I'm not too sure about that one but.. let's see What's this then? Hello! Thank you Yay I made it.. to the main road Should be here Ah. Oh, for some reason I thought that would be tar but hey Of course not Still dirt so that means another 173 on dirt 173 kilometers... hmmmm.. it's now 01:30 hours Let's see If I make it Hi!
- Hi! Hello! Hello
- Hello Where are you going?
- Quesso Quesso
- Yeah.. the road is good? Yeah, it's good
- Okay, very good Thank you very much! It is an absolute beautiful road here hey Pah! Really stunning everywhere Oh Now the big track is finished Now it looks like this I'm not too sure... it's still 105 kilometers It's far! I don't know what happened to the good track but uh.. This is like a proper jungle track I hope it opens up a little bit again I do see some motorbike tracks but.. .. No people there is no one I don't really understand it How can there be nobody on this track for like.. I already haven't seen anyone since 70 kilometers.. .. On the road I passed the logging camp but like nobody on.. on the road Ah this is remote, hey There is nothing anywhere here Nothing, nothing There's some people there Hello How are you? Fine, ma'am How's it? For Quesso? Congo Yes The road is.. It's like this You gotta be a bit careful Yeah And.. village? Yes, a small village along the way. Mongoli. Mongoli How many kilometers from here? 17 kilometers 17? And after, no village? After that, only at the border You go to Congo?
- Yes But.. 100 kilometers
- Yes 100 kilometers is.. Is far Much power! Okay, thank you very much! Goodbye! See only one village 17 kilometers from here and then nothing I don't know what they're doing here, maybe they're from the logging camp or something I just have to keep going because I know now at 6 o'clock it's dark And it's now 3 o'clock So that's still 3 hours And uh.. with the tracks like this that's actually not so easy to make in three hours So I have to uh.. Try and just keep going keep going To be continued.. In the next episode of
Itchy Boots
