imagine being a boy with a slender physique
always dozing off and acting exhausted so much so that your one and only friend has to take
care of you and yet girls still find you charming some even fall in love well like I said just keep
imagining because that's Tanaka's life not yours. The story starts with Tanaka, the laziest boy in
the entire school. He is so lazy that his friend, Ohta, has to grab him under the shoulder to take
him to class. In class, Ohta calls to Tanaka about their next period. When he touches Tanaka's arm,
he realizes Tanaka's hands have fallen asleep. This type of thing happens to Tanaka often because
of his laziness, but Tanaka just wants to rest. The next period is self-study, and it's time for
Tanaka to sleep. Since he is far from the window, other students who need the breeze are blocking
it. Just then, two girls get away from the window, and now the breeze can reach Tanaka.
This is what he wanted all along – the ultimate lazy situation. But this laziness
results in him falling from his chair. Next is PE period, a nightmare for a lazy
person like Tanaka. However, this time Tanaka wants to build up his physical strength
so his legs don't fall asleep or get hurt, no matter how lazy he becomes. During this
class, they are playing badminton – Tanaka and Ohta versus two friends. Ohta
plays with fierce pressure, and next, it's Tanaka's turn to swing the racket. His loose
grip causes the racket to fly out of his hand. Both of his teammates ask Tanaka to take a break.
After the match, they find Tanaka sleeping again. The next day, both are going to the classroom
together. Suddenly, they hear a voice asking someone to make her an apprentice. Both look back,
but no one's there. When they look down, a small girl asks Tanaka to make her his apprentice.
This is Miyano, from the same class as Tanaka. Tanaka quickly refuses her request, but Miyano
insists. She wants to become mature by attaining the same level of listlessness as Tanaka.
Tanaka tries every excuse to reject her, but Miyano gives a solution to every excuse and
keeps insisting. Tanaka agrees for only today, thinking that if he says no, she will probably
come back tomorrow. Miyano is overjoyed and vows to do her best, but Tanaka's first rule as
a master of listlessness is not to do one's best. So, Miyano now vows not to do her best.
In class, Miyano observes Tanaka. She tries to copy how Tanaka's eyes always look tired, but
she fails because the path to listlessness is not a simple one. Next, she tries to relax
her full body like Tanaka, but again fails to do so. The teacher notices and tells the class
president to take Miyano to the nurse's office. It's break time, and Tanaka shows Ohta a discount
coupon for a donut shop. It's for three people, so Ohta asks Miyano to join them. She
really wants to go but decides not to show her excitement. However, her drooling face
shows more excitement than expected, resulting in another failure as Tanaka's apprentice.
Ohta takes Tanaka to eat lunch during the break, and Miyano chases after them. They go to
a vending machine. Tanaka picks green tea, and Miyano, thinking mature people drink green
tea, also chooses it. Ohta takes strawberry milk, which shocks Miyano. Seeing this, Miyano
starts crying. Ohta can't see a girl crying, so he asks Tanaka to drink the strawberry milk
so Miyano, following her preferences, can drink it too. Ohta gives her his strawberry milk. Miyano
runs away, saying that Tanaka is nothing like her. Miyano is now sad, but Shiraishi, the class
president who previously took Miyano to the nurse's office, asks her how she's feeling
and comforts her, putting Miyano in a good mood again. By the way, Shiraishi is the most
popular girl in school, admired by everyone. Miyano goes to the library and reads
books about listlessness. After school, she gives Tanaka a report about it. But Tanaka
doesn't understand. As the laziest person, he tells her he won't work so hard. On
the other hand, Miyano has a hard-working nature. He tells her she doesn't have to
become listless, she's good as she is. Miyano tells Tanaka there's a person
she likes, and despite her short height, she wanted to be a perfect mature woman for
him. Tanaka advises her that if that person likes her true self, then she doesn't have
to change. This gives Miyano self-confidence, and she decides to improve in her own way.
Later, they all go to the donut shop as planned. The next day at school, Ohta rushes to show
Tanaka that Miyano has mastered listlessness in just one day. Her mood and style are the same
as Tanaka's. Both Tanaka and Ohta follow her to observe. They save her from entering a room under
repair. Just then, the Miyano they know comes back to life. She thanks both Tanaka and Ohta for
solving her problem. Both are surprised about what just happened. In reality, after watching a
mascot character in a TV show, Miyano thinks they are robots who are going to take over humanity,
and she is the only one who can save the world. The next morning, Tanaka sees a
challenge letter in his shoe locker. In lunch time, both Tanaka and
Ohta relax on the roof. Just then, a girl in a long skirt comes to
the roof, looking like a punk. She introduces herself as Echizen from Tanaka's
next class and asks Tanaka to fight her. Tanaka pretends to be asleep. It turns out that
Echizen was the one who wrote the challenge letter asking Tanaka to meet behind the gym. She's angry
because Tanaka never showed up. Coincidentally, Ohta and Echizen know each other. According to
Echizen, Ohta and she used to hang out in the same gang. But in reality, she's Ohta's next-door
neighbor, nicknamed Ecchan. Ohta remembers some childhood memories, which embarrasses Echizen.
Tanaka doesn't think Echizen is a bad person. Echizen again asks Tanaka to fight her. Tanaka
instantly proclaims he will lose no matter what, which shocks Echizen. They end up playing a board
game instead, and Echizen wins – well, more like Tanaka lets her win. Just then, Echizen's stomach
growls, meaning she hasn't eaten lunch. Ohta gives her a bunny-shaped bun. Echizen gets angry, not
because he's making fun of her with a cute bun, but because she can't bring herself to eat it.
This reveals that Echizen actually has a girly personality and is only pretending to be a punk.
Echizen is mad at Tanaka for revealing that her friend told her she wants to be like him. That's
why she came to check him out, but he turns out to be just a lazy boy. Just then, Miyano arrives,
calling Echizen's name, and Echizen instantly shifts into her soft side. It turns out Miyano and
Echizen are friends. Miyano's sense of smell led her to the roof in search of Echizen.
Tanaka tells Echizen she doesn't have to worry about Miyano trying to change her
personality because Miyano doesn't have the talent to become listless. This makes Echizen
relieved but also angry at Tanaka for saying Miyano lacks talent. In the end, it turns out the
person Miyano likes is Echizen, as a best friend. Next morning, Ohta runs to the classroom, holding
Tanaka in his arms because they're both late. Upon entering, they stumble into Shiraishi, the class
president. Shiraishi is in the same class as Tanaka. She has excellent grades and is courteous,
making her popular with both boys and girls. She also has devoted bodyguards who admire her as
their goddess. The slightest touch from Shiraishi sends her bodyguards running off in embarrassment,
meaning Tanaka and Ohta are now safe. Both Tanaka and Ohta help Shiraishi pick up the
papers she dropped. Some of the papers are ripped, and they offer to help her re-copy
them as thanks for saving them from her bodyguards. Shiraishi refuses, but
they insist. In the end, Shiraishi agrees. In the workroom, they help her copy pages
and staple them. Shiraishi even gives them homemade macarons to eat during a break.
Shiraishi and Ohta do most of the work, while Tanaka remains lazy as usual and eventually
falls asleep. Shiraishi lets them go, saying she'll handle the rest herself. Ohta decides to
take Tanaka home, grabbing him in his usual style. Just as they leave, Shiraishi's personality
changes. Finally alone, she removes her contacts, lowers her skirt, complains about how "girls
today are shameless," changes her hairstyle, and puts on glasses. This is how she truly looks.
Let me tell you her short past: Shiraishi was an average school girl in middle school. She
decided to change her look in high school, wearing contacts, styling her hair like an
idol, and wearing a short skirt. Her high school debut was successful, getting her the
attention she craved. But these things are a pain for her. She feels most comfortable in
her true form, which is why she came to this room during the break to eat lunch and relax.
Now, just as Shiraishi is about to start working, Ohta returns, having forgotten Tanaka's bag.
He sees Shiraishi's real form, shocking her. Ohta grabs the bag and apologizes as he leaves.
The next day, Shiraishi is afraid to go to class, thinking everyone might know her real
appearance and will make fun of her as a loser. Shiraishi's two friends greet her
cheerfully. By their behavior, Shiraishi assumes nobody has found out
about her true self yet. Just then, Tanaka and Ohta approach Shiraishi. Tanaka greets
her, but Shiraishi thinks he's making fun of her. Now she's afraid of when these two will expose
her true nature. Shiraishi starts stalking them. In laboratory class, Ohta ties his long hair,
and Shiraishi thinks they're mocking her. She follows them everywhere, even almost entering
the boys' toilet before Tanaka stops her. Lunchtime arrives, and Ohta,
Tanaka, and their two friends eat in the school garden. Shiraishi is
still following them. Tanaka asks Ohta about yesterday and what happened when
he was asleep. Shiraishi is shocked, thinking Ohta will reveal her secret. She tries to
stop him, but Ohta reveals that when he went back, Shiraishi had already gone home, and
someone else was using the room. This means he didn't recognize her. Shiraishi
is relieved; she was panicking for nothing. In the girls' bathroom, Shiraishi
feels relieved but knows she can't maintain her other look for long. She
decides to go out in her real look, pretending to be someone else
since Ohta didn't recognize her. Her first test goes well; passersby don't
recognize her. This is a relief. She walks freely in the hall, but as she passes Ohta
and Tanaka, Tanaka calls out her name, and she responds. She's busted and
surprised at how Tanaka recognized her. Now in the copy room, Shiraishi reveals
everything: that this is her plain and dull form, and she has no friends. She starts crying,
telling them to go ahead and laugh. Tanaka says Shiraishi is "seductive," then corrects
himself to "productive." He admires her hard work and compares her to himself. He's aware of
his own laziness but continues being lazy anyway. Both give Shiraishi confidence and ask her to
believe in herself. This makes Shiraishi happy, and she thanks them. She asks them
to keep her current form a secret, and they agree. Even if they told
someone, no one would believe them anyway. The next day, Shiraishi comes to school
wearing glasses. Her friends compliment her, saying she doesn't need to wear
contacts if they bother her. But why was Tanaka the only one who recognized
her? Ohta asks Tanaka the same question. Tanaka's reply is simple: a girl can hide
her looks, but she can't hide the size of her "jingle bells." Ohta tells him to never
tell her that, no matter how much she asks. Shiraishi is now in love with Tanaka. She tries to
wake him up while he's sleeping, but Ohta arrives and grabs Tanaka as usual. She starts following
him. In class, she sees Ohta and Tanaka together and thinks she must support Tanaka like Ohta
does. Because her only competitor is Ohta, she decides to observe him, thinking maybe she can
learn some tips on how to get closer to Tanaka. She thinks of grabbing Tanaka just like Ohta does
but quickly finds this embarrassing. She then considers bumping into Tanaka and decides to go
with this idea. She positions herself and waits, but just then, Ohta comes up behind her.
She asks Ohta if Tanaka has a girlfriend (which he definitely doesn't). Then, she asks
if Tanaka likes someone. Ohta says Tanaka only cares about him because he does everything
for him. Shiraishi asks Ohta romantically, and Ohta tells her Tanaka finds love
bothersome. This is a relief for Shiraishi. She thinks she can't be on Ohta's level but
could become a close female friend. Upon entering the class, she finds Miyano
talking to Tanaka. Shiraishi again starts feeling depressed. However, Miyano
notices Shiraishi, Shiraishi runs away. Miyano catches up and says she knew that Shiraishi
was watching Tanaka. Shiraishi thinks Miyano knows she likes Tanaka. Miyano grabs her hand and drags
her back to the classroom. Shiraishi is shocked; she isn't mentally prepared for a
confession. Upon opening the door, Miyano tells Tanaka she found another
person who wants to be his apprentice. Both Shiraishi and Tanaka are surprised. Miyano
is actually more excited about becoming a senior apprentice. Tanaka tells Shiraishi about the
whole scenario of Miyano as his apprentice. Shiraishi asks Tanaka if she can be his
friend too. Tanaka agrees, saying in his view, they're already friends. Miyano also asks
Shiraishi to become her friend and proposes they all share their numbers as a sign of
their new friendship. Everyone exchanges numbers. In the end, a message from Miyano
reveals to Shiraishi that she knows about her crush on Tanaka and will support her.
Now Shiraishi considers Miyano her master. It's Valentine's Day. Tanaka comes to class
after washing his hands and finds a chocolate box in his bag. He's shocked – someone gave him a
Valentine's chocolate! But Tanaka doesn't want it, not because he dislikes the gesture,
but because it'll be stressful to give something back on White Day. Ohta also gets
one, but it's a cheap store-bought chocolate, while Tanaka's looks homemade. There's no name
on Tanaka's chocolate and there is a note saying i am always watching you. They assume it must
be from someone in their class who knows where Tanaka sits and recognizes his bag. Tanaka's
friend comes asking if he got any chocolate. Tanaka grabs him, demanding to know if
he's the culprit. He's definitely not. They then suspect Miyano. That could explain
the difference in Ohta and Tanaka's chocolates because Miyano admires Tanaka more. Also,
she's always watching him. Turns out, she totally forgot about Tanaka and Ohta and
only made chocolates for Echizen. Tanaka and Ohta decide to eat the chocolates. While
eating, Ohta suddenly remembers the taste of the macarons Shiraishi gave them in the
copy room. They go to Shiraishi and overhear her telling her friend that she was a loner
for so long that now this day feels like any other ordinary day. This means she's also
not the one who gave Tanaka the chocolate. On their way home, a voice recorder drops from
Tanaka's bag. Both are shocked. Just then, a girl calls Tanaka "oniichan" (big brother). Ohta,
surprised, thinks she looks like a female version of Tanaka. She reveals she's Tanaka's little
sister, Rino. It turns out the voice recorder that fell from Tanaka's bag belongs to Rino. She
uses it to record her math teacher's lectures, not so she can study later, but to make him
listen to his own mistakes so he'll correct them. She invites Ohta home for tea, forcing him
to drink black coffee and proclaiming that it's good this way. Ohta tells her he takes care of
Tanaka at school, so Rino doesn't have to worry about her lazy brother. Instead, Rino asks him
to stop doing any of this from tomorrow. It seems Rino actually dislikes Ohta. Just then, Tanaka
suggests eating the Valentine's chocolate with coffee. It turns out Rino was the one who gave
Tanaka the chocolate. She invited Ohta on purpose, wanting to learn about her brother's school
life and to prevent Ohta from getting too close to Tanaka. Now she's angry at Ohta for eating
the chocolate that was meant only for Tanaka. Next day while coming home, Tanaka and Ohta stop
in front of a restaurant. Tanaka doesn't want to go because the staff works fast, which pressures
him. But Ohta wants to try the limited-edition new sweets. They're about to leave when Tanaka sees
a mini vacuum prize on meal number 4 and decides to check it out. The employee thinks he'll take
a while to decide but is surprised when Tanaka, being lazy, orders meal number 4
without much thought. Unfortunately, meal number 4 just ran out – shocking news
for Tanaka! His mood instantly changes; he desperately wanted that vacuum.
Disappointed, he orders a strawberry shake. The employee quickly realizes how lazy
he is and offers to bring the shake to his table While drinking, Tanaka praises the
employee to Ohta for helping him but stares menacingly. The employee can feel their
death stares. She's actually more afraid of Ohta, fearing he'll bully her for running out of
number 4. After the meal, Tanaka and Ohta leave, and the same employee hands out flyers. She
gets scared, thinking they've come for revenge, but Tanaka thanks her and praises her hard
work. She finally realizes they're nice people. The next day they visit the restaurant again. Ohta
forgets his phone in class and goes back to school while Tanaka waits for him. A girl looking for
an empty seat approaches Tanaka's sofa and gets shocked seeing him there. Rino arrives at the
same time and notices Tanaka. The girl with Rino, surprised by the resemblance, asks
Rino not to look, saying Tanaka is her doppelgänger. Her reaction is similar to
another person, which makes Rino a bit angry. Rino introduces the girl as Saya, her
classmate. It turns out Saya is very shy and speaks so softly that Rino has to
repeat everything in a loud voice for Tanaka to understand – just like a puppet! Rino's
happy to meet her brother at the restaurant, especially without Ohta around.
Saya thinks Tanaka is too quiet, but Rino asks Tanaka if something good happened,
recognizing happiness on his expressionless face. This surprises Saya. Tanaka's excited because
he got the upgraded version of the mini vacuum he tried to buy yesterday. Rino goes to get
a cold drink, leaving Saya and Tanaka alone. Tanaka starts asking Saya about her big brother,
and she describes him as a gorilla. Meanwhile, the employee thinks Tanaka came back
disguised as a girl. Ohta finally returns, and it turns out he's the gorilla big
brother Saya described! Rino also comes back and seems unhappy to see Ohta.
Saya tells Rino that Ohta is her big brother. They all finish their meal and
leave. And that's the end of this video.
