hey guys today is monday may 10th um yesterday was sunday we got about an inch of rain and we got the mower out here i got this all greased up um all the oils checked in the gear boxes and changed all the knives all knives would change everything spins how it should then we got the baler out started tearing this apart started putting the new pickup teeth on got this row done you gotta start working on the other row soon so we leave this mower out by the barnyard and the gates well we have a old gate laying there right now i'm gonna move that set it on the hay wagon because we got to bring the gate up to the heifer barn for something and i need to shake out some corn stalks too so i'll get this started up and we'll move everything around [Music] this is the gate here used to be right there and then i got bent up a little bit and it was getting old so we got a new gate there i got that gate moved where i want it to be now i'm gonna come up here in the barn i need to move this cornstalk bell first i need to set the camera down for a minute so i shook out a cornstalk bale i needed two hands for that but i need it all right i backed up here to the mower i'm gonna move it to where i took that gate from and then i'm gonna jack it back down take that hitch adapter off and then this will be ready thinking in the next few days we're probably gonna mow some wheat probably gonna mow a little bit behind the barn to make sure everything's going to work probably about half that field and then we're going to go up to the heifer barn where we have all that wheat and mold that then up to the heifer barn we're going to put corn in a little later because that needs to dry out that's normally one of the last ones we do anyways because it's wetter so um we gotta finish getting the baler ready and the mower's already just gotta hook it up and then we've gotta grease the rake up and then we'll be all ready to go i think i'm gonna hook up to that rake right now might as well we got room in the shed so i might as well back it in so that we can check it over so that's ready to go i got it on and hooked up i started it up quick make sure nothing's hitting anything and everything's all good and it is so i'm just gonna pack it in the shed grease it all up that should be everything we gotta do to it i'm also going by making sure the teeth aren't loose and just tighten it up tighten them up anyway [Music] quick tighten [Music] [Music] so so the next thing to do is get everything greased up there's grooves fitting on each arm one right there a couple on the pto shaft i got all them done because they're pain so i just did them off camera quick but these will go pretty quick too it just takes a lot of it takes a lot of spinning and getting out and getting back in oh [Applause] oh there it goes everything's greased up things all good now it's ready for some hay or wheat or wheat i guess because that's what we're gonna do first so before we bought this rake dad to do some work on it right here and there's no paint on it so i sprayed some paint on it last year not the same color but still orange but i'm gonna spray some more on [Applause] just to get everything so it has some paint on it done as bad so after i got the rake ready i came over here worked on the baler a little bit we're changing the pickup teeth um i'm gonna finish it up tomorrow hopefully um i'll explain what i'm doing so thinking i'll just have this video rolling into tomorrow um i'm getting some soybeans but it's getting a little chilly right now it's supposed to we have a frost advisory tonight and i've had we've had people around here saying it's a little early to plant that corn but that we planted a while ago but that stuff's not out of the ground yet so it'll be fine even if it was out of the ground if it was like an inch or two tall if we got a frost it would it could frost it off and then it just start growing again but if it gets about three four inches tall over that then get a frost in it is not good so that corn will be fine i checked it yesterday and it was getting close coming out of the ground but we're supposed to get some the weather's finally supposed to start warming up and changing and so that'll get it coming out of the ground that'll get things drying out so we can get back to plant and hopefully the end of this week tomorrow we're probably gonna mow some wheat um we're thinking probably the end of the week were going to do that too but thinking now start tomorrow make sure everything works right and i hope everything's worked right it should work right so i'm coming up here to fill some men carts you can see the flashing lights down the road i'm pretty sure that's the chopper crew that's around here they keep their stuff that a ways a little bit so that's good that they're getting their stuff ready it's the next day now i'm gonna unhook this tractor from the dump wagon got some mulch in there so i'm gonna i think i'm gonna unhelp this over there by the sap house and then hook this up to the mower okay i got that dump wagon on hook i gotta pull over across the road over there get hooked up to the mower [Music] i'm just gonna maul um a little bit behind the barn there's on my spot of wet um i'll show you where that is but i'm not gonna drive through there there probably three or four acres is what i'm gonna do here and then we got i think five or six acres over at a red barn fields that's where i was picking rocks and then that up to the heifer barn that we were and we disked in just got it hooked up um there's stops on the cylinders in the back there's a valve shut off i flip that so i can drop it and lift it so i just got it started up everything sounds right so drop it down and take off see i got it leaving it in a remarkable um i might change it so it spreads it out more i'll see but you can go a little faster here getting closer done it's gone good so far i'm not gonna do that section over there but um if everything's going good didn't grow the best here i'm not sure why that was either just didn't grow or um the spreader didn't work because we broadcast it all this week just left it um yeah this field it's right behind the barn barns right there um we combined this and then we mowed the cornstalks up and bailed them up so it's been different to mowing here the last or twice in the last year so a little bit of a change which is good and also we're gonna put soybeans in this field um two years ago we had soybeans here we're gonna keep or rotate it it was corn last year now beans this year so oh and two fields down the road a little ways are getting beans too so we're just gonna plant right into here not do any tillage or anything just no chill it right in so i just got it finished up right there's that wet spot i was talking about so i stayed right on the edge of that and yeah mode pretty good so i'm gonna work on this baler some more now uh oh i gotta grab the impact i plug that in last night after i was working on that so i gotta grab the battery since we only have one battery for it [Music] so the battery for the impact wasn't there and the impact wasn't there um i guess my dad has it he was working on some stuff up to that for barton today so he needed that i'm gonna hop in this tractor again unhook the mower uh we're just gonna use this tractor for everything for mowing raking and bailing so i'm gonna hook up to the right [Music] start it up lift it up and i'll go back and flip these uh valves i was talking about so i can't drop down so what i did yesterday was i tore all the old teeth off this whole row now you get new teeth and got to stick the bolt in through here so then you can get it through the hole and then stick that bolt through the hole and then start the nut on and just keep doing a bunch of them so so now we just gotta go live put the wrench on and not and tighten them up they got an allen head bolt i'll get one just like this so it's got a hex head on it so yeah you can't use a regular socket so that's why we had to get ready to get an adapter because our impact is a half inch and these um allen head sockets we have are 3 8 i believe and we didn't have any adapters so yesterday my dad was in this one town so he ran into harbor freight quick and grab some which is making this job a lot quicker so this baler i can't remember the exact year we bought it but we believe it's about six or seven years old now and been a good baler never changed pick up teeth on it before i haven't done a heck of a lot of work to it but a few weeks ago we ran in to the our equipment dealer they have net wrap and plastic grab so we got enough of that hopefully for the year because um net wrap is gonna get hard to get there's already some people around here that are having troubles getting some so we got enough to get through the year now and then i noticed the other day there was an extra role in the baylor too so we're gonna be good on that this year so i'm recording this outro the day of the next video um thanks for watching the next video is probably gonna have a little bit of morning chores on a sunday and um some bailing and wrapping so stay tuned for that video thanks for watching we'll see in the next one
