Half Life 2 Beta: "The NPCs Are Dead" Incident

[Music] oh my man's dead i guess bull squids yeah bull squeals are dead i remember they were not dead the last time huh this is creepy like it's one of those creepypastas like i loaded into a map i played the game but every enemy and person npc was dead then i saw hyper realistic blood come out of the bull squid's eyes and then ben drowned this is odd i haven't never seen this before and with the silence it's even weirder okay this is creeping me out now even the hand crabs are dead what oh at least the man hacks are alive at least one of them all the dead enemies went to brazil uh i see you join the star i see a joint during the start of rad's mental decline okay one barnacle we found alive so like i said i played only till kleiner's lab but when i said before when i was here this is the map i was testing before starting the stream plot twist you're not alone in the beta oh no i gotta run then wait okay okay this is freaking me the hell out right now um wait this this okay let me let me collect my thoughts this happens when you shoot them when they're alive hey t-pose this happens when you shoot them and their blood splatters against the walls i swear to god almighty and everything that is dear to me i did not modify this game in any way at all like the barnacles are alive but what the hell happened to these guys as if they were actually shot like yeah that's what i'm trying to say i joined your server and killed them all yeah well project beta is here do you know if this is a bug or something like that the the dk yeah that's what i'm saying moon jam you're right like if this was a dead body just here i would have said okay guys the game bugged out everyone's dead but what's up with the blood but this is legit creeping me out um what even a bullet hole in the wall no i made that i made that bullet hole i'm not sure like the guys from the beta team don't appear to be freaked out so they probably know what's happening yeah that's why i was asking like if they know what's the reason behind this i'm sorry if i missed your response i you know i was looking at the game what's this it's a manhack oh it never happened to me i really have no idea what happened here wake up wake up hiccup good one pilzo look at your back okay let's figure out where to go hopefully the map changes and this will be normal remember that whisper from earlier oh [ __ ] i just remembered there was whispering [Music] um it's weird how quiet all of this is you know i hear whispering though wait what wait wait you guys tell me i'm not going crazy there is this spring somewhere around here excuse me what the huh hey mihail one second i'm i hear whispering though yeah over here what the hell um okay best i should get the hell out of here before i get i don't know attacked by vertigo demons okay what they just died huh rad has i said a no-no word well i do swear sometimes so portermation's beta yeah this is the beta but it's freaking everyone out i think so the helicopter is alive but standing in ones flying in one place it's getting closer gordon run sonic exe haunted canals yeah keto so the okay that's working the helicopter is working they saw you and had a heart attack wait what hello radiation hazard here um yeah so that's something that happened it would have been cool if this was something um supernatural but it was not it was not supernatural i know it was a bug in the game but the mystery is that what like what kind of bug like what bugged out did the spawning bug out did the map bug out and right here something else bugged out you can see that i'm shooting the pistol but it's hurting me and i solved i solved this problem by no clipping and that was that and uh yeah after this so i restarted the map after this and everything went back to normal um so yeah as you saw project beta i don't know which exact person was watching my stream but someone from project beta was watching the stream and they were they weren't aware of any bug like this so if you know uh if you're you know a professional at mapping for half-life or if you know a whole lot technical details yeah let me know in the comments uh what happened like uh what went wrong or did did this ever happen to you in uh while playing the beta maps or whatever and uh yeah i just wanted to make this wanted to make this little video for quite a while i wanted to share this incident with you and i hope i hope you enjoyed watching this video and yeah unscripted hazard over and out thank you for watching you

Possibly two things:

1. Save files somehow got mixed up/bugged (I think the OP on YouTube mentioned that he also played this map pre-stream which probably caused the bug/glitch).
2. Near the end of the video, when OP shot his gun after the level transition, the player character took damage as if the player character "tried to kill itself." This bug was probably occurred with the NPCs as well, hence the blood splatter (But I highly doubt it because one part of the video showed newly spawned NPCs INSTANTLY DIED at the start of the map).

The guys from the HL2 Project Beta also watched the stream and didn't even aware of such bug/glitch exists until his stream.

Seems it has a weird glitch where attacks hit the user, so nearly everyone involuntary committed suicide
