this is the video guide for the halcyon traveler bc system read the owners manual completely before viewing this video or attempting to use your bc after reading the manual and viewing this video become familiar with your buoyancy compensator bc by first using it in a controlled environment such as a swimming pool this process ensures you are comfortable diving your new bc it also provides the opportunity to weight yourself properly while gaining familiarity with the travelers many features and adjustments before using your traveler bc you must receive instruction and certification in scuba diving and buoyancy control from a recognised training agency use of scuba equipment by uncertified or untrained persons is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death do not disassemble your traveler or attempt to change the bc this system will not work with double tanks if you are looking for a modular design please see our infinity and eclipse diving systems before every dive perform a complete pre dive inspection according to the procedures described in this video and within your owner's manual this process will help ensure that all components are functioning properly and no signs of damage or leaks are present if your BC is not functioning properly or is damaged remove it from service until it can be repaired by an authorized Halcyon dealer in order to tighten the harness use both hands grasp the ends of the waist belt webbing and pull up and outward at roughly 45 degrees from the body in order to loosen the harness grasp the webbing at the shoulder straps just above the waist push the harness out and up slightly from your waist it is possible to over tighten the harness if desired a tri Glide can be put in place as a stopper on the webbing to allow a full stop of sizing when the harness has reached its desired fit while wearing your house Aeon traveler adjust to the waist strap as above and slide the waist strap buckle through the crotch strap loop fastening the waist buckle the harness should fit snug but be comfortable do not over tighten the waist belt in a way that restricts breathing while standing on land your BC should not be uncomfortably tight in the water your harness should feel stable and prevent significant motion of the cylinder as you change orientation but not too tight so to bind or restrict your complete range of shoulder and arm movement generally speaking you should be able to fit two or three fingers underneath the strap the crotch strap should be comfortable but also prevent your tank from riding up on your back to adjust the crotch strap buckle the waist strap without running it through the crotch strap now pull the crotch strap up to the waist belt set the length so that the top of the crotch strap loop extends a half-inch 12 millimeters over the top of the waist belt in this position the crotch strap should feel secure but not uncomfortable in order to loosen your crotch strap feed the loose end of the webbing into the buckle near the crotch strap d-ring in order to tighten the crotch strap pull the loose end of the webbing out from the buckle near the d-ring please be aware that this adjustable crotch strap is not designed for aggressive technical dives with a DP v if using a DP v for prolonged periods you should feed the loose end of the crotch strap until it rests against the buckle then adjust the crotch strap from the rear of the plate the front crotch d-ring is only used with a toe behind DP v gear should never be clipped to this d-ring as it will hang in the slipstream and pose entanglement hazards once you have properly sized your secure harness you will want to fine-tune the position of the d-rings the shoulder D rings should be positioned relatively high on the shoulder straps to position the shoulder D rings extend your arms straight out to the side parallel to the ground then to the elbow and bring your thumb straight to the shoulder strap the center of your thumb should intersect the center of the D ring next reach across your body to or almost to your left shoulder with your right arm make sure the right side D ring doesn't inch between your arm and chest do the same with your left side if either D ring pinches adjust it upward the waist D ring is normally used for clipping off the SPG to position the waist D ring run your left thumb straight down your left side until it hits the waist strap your thumb should intersect the D ring very close to your hip bone the position might need to be adjusted after your first dive with your traveler system you will probably want to trim the extra webbing after you've determined at the best size range for your cinch harness and crotch strap you should leave a bit of extra length until you are certain you are happy with the size of your harness your Halcyon BC utilizes a unique set of weight fixtures that allow the quick installation of additional weight the halcyon traveler has been designed to work with a maximum of 12 pounds six kilograms the backside of your BC plate has four fixtures each designed to hold three pounds you must be sure not to use overly large weights or weight that exceeds these limits you must also be sure to secure this way properly and to replace any worn or damaged fixed installing weights on your Halcyon traveler is relatively easy but must be done with care the traveler can hold most forms of weight with hard weights being recommended be sure to place your weight within the Cordura pocket use the small velcro strap to prevent the weight from moving laterally ensure the large velcro strap is fixed to the pocket and run through both upper attachment points it is critical the pocket and flap are securely fixed to the large velcro strap carefully close the large velcro strap while ensuring the top flat closes over the opening of the weight pocket make sure the pocket closes securely test the weight fixture and ensure it is not loose both straps must be fixed securely and the pocket must be held closed warnings do not use the straps if they are becoming worn or the velcro is not holding tightly do not use more than three pounds 1.5 kilograms per fixture never use the straps without the weight pocket please note that your Halcyon traveler may be fit with some optional accessories including a halcyon light attachment fixture and quick-release integrated weight pockets with the halcyon light fixture you may use your bc with a hip mounted light canister which allows you to fit a hit mounted light while maintaining the adjustability of your diving system the optional weight pockets provide easily releasable weight pockets which do not interfere with your quick adjust system please see your dealer or the video tutorial on Halcyon traveler optional accessories see your owners manual for complete instructions regarding final assembly warning the cam straps may stretch after they become wet always wet the straps prior to making the final adjustment and apply enough tension to ensure that the is held completely secure using too much weight may stress the retaining fixtures allowing the way to release spontaneously which could lead to serious injury or death failure to use the appropriate amount of lift for a given cylinder can result in negative buoyancy which could lead to serious injury or death always test your fully rigged and weighted BC system in a controlled environment such as a pool before attempting a dive see your owners manual for complete instructions regarding the mandatory pre dive inspection before each use the BC must be given a thorough visual inspection and functionality tests do not dive with a BC that shows signs of damage unless a complete inspection is performed by an authorised Halcyon dealer be sure to thoroughly read your owners manual with proper care your Halcyon BC will provide many years of reliable service for more warranty info visit the halcyon website for any further questions contact
