Hacking Ford Sync 3 🔓⚡

hey there everyone it's brian from navyupgrade.com and today i've got such an exciting video for you i've personally been waiting such a long time for this to become a reality and it's finally available for everyone now you don't need to disassemble your car you don't need to disassemble your apim module and you don't need any specialized hardware or tools to jailbreak your sync 3 any longer for this project you're just going to need three small usb flash drives they don't really need to be anything over 32 megabytes as the scripts that we're running are going to be very small in size and then you're also going to need a windows laptop for scan and an obd-link ex adapter or any switched adapter of your choice so without further ado let's get right on into jailbreaking this module that has sync 3.0 on it and the reason why i'm going to do sync 3.0 is i'm going to show you in a later video how to update sync and keep your jailbreak so let's do this right now all right so the first stage of getting this ready is going to be downloading the pre-prepped files from google drive here you can find a link to these files in the video description below as you can see it's opened up here and it says sync 3 hack we're just going to open it right here and you'll see this right here we're going to extract it to a sync 3 hack folder just like that now we're presented with three different zip folders there's going to be stick 1 stick 2 and stick three let's start with stick one and we're just going to extract to stick one and what we're going to do is we're going to plug in our first usb stick i've already formatted these to have proper file name so i know exactly which one goes where so as you can see this one's called stick one hack and what we're going to do is we're going to copy this just like this ctrl c and we're going to paste it in here now once this is in here we can disconnect the usb we can plug in our second usb and be sure to label these so you know which is which alright so now we've got our stick to daemon and we're gonna go back here we're going to extract our daemon folder click in copy the two files in here and now we can unplug again and now we can do our final usb stick all right and we will bring up our downloads again and we've got stick 3 mods tools so we're going to extract this to mods tools and we're going to copy the same files over just like that all right now we can unplug our usb stick alright so the next thing that we're going to do is we're actually going to connect our laptop to the car so i've got an elm 327 plugged into my bench tester here but you're going to want to plug this directly into your vehicle and then what i'm going to do is i'm going to take the usb part and i'm going to plug it into my laptop and we're going to log in and once we're logged in we're going to unplug and replug again all right just like that and now we can open for scan for scan is going to automatically connect all right so if you've already connected to a vehicle before you're probably going to see a window like this asking if you'd like to connect to a previous vehicle i'm just going to select any one because i'm i'm on a bench tester [Music] all right so when it pops up and asks if your car has ms can modules and if your elm has an ms canvas switch you're going to say yes and mine's falling here just a little bit we're just going to switch it to that and we're going to click yes and we're going to click ok and let it scan you don't need to do this if you're using an obd-link ex [Music] all right now that we get the ready status symbol down here we're going to switch it back to high speed canvas and we're going to go over to our service functions here and we're going to see apem module reset and we're going to want to click play on this right now and we're not going to click this ok button but we're going to keep our finger on it now what we're going to do is we're going to take our usb hack stick one so make sure you've got them labeled and we're going to plug it in and now the whole thing that we're trying to do here is we're going to plug it in and the second literally probably even before we see an error code pop up here we're going to hit the module reset on 4scan so what we're going to do let's let's see if we can do this quick enough it might take us a couple tries but we're going to get it give it a shot so we're going to go like that and then the second that it pops up okay and we reset it immediately okay and now we're going to wait for it to reboot i'm going to take the usb stick out and i'm going to get my usb stick 2 ready all right so we're getting a navigation fault just because i'm on a bench here but now let's see if we can get this installed okay so we're going to try plugging it in give it just a second it has to wait for it to index and everything and as you can see the daemon's been installed there we go we can remove this and we can move on to our third usb the mods tools usb and we can click close on that again and we're just going to wait a second while this boots up all right i think it's ready to go now and we're going to take our third mods tools usb and we're going to plug it in to our usb hub and remember this can all be done in your vehicle you don't need to be out on a bench or anything like this [Music] and now you can see mods tools have been installed please remove the usb stick to reboot sync 3.
