guys welcome back to cooking with ash i trust everyone is doing great and of course today i will be showing you my pretty face on camera as you guys are requesting that i should come on camera i will do that once in a while not every time i'm prepared to be coming on camera sometimes these recipes and i do them late in the night and so here we go today i'm on camera for you guys and i first off i want to thank you guys for all um your views your thumbs up thank you to all my awesome subscribers i truly and greatly appreciate you guys and of course you can see i have my mini me here with me today and she just wanted to jump in and that's fine i love to have my kids in the kitchen with me when i'm cooking i encourage that and so should you guys we need to teach them what our parents taught us today's recipe is going to be a very simple and delicious recipe this recipe was requested by one of my very dear and old friend and we went to primary school together then we went to secondary school together we still kept that friendship her name is chadila she requested this recipe and it's powder milk fudge big shout out to yuma girl and thank you for all your support and thank you for constantly trying all my delicious recipes i greatly appreciate it so simple ingredients we will be using to make our powder milk fudge i remember when we used to go to school we would collect our powder milk and our biscuit and we had this friend and it's my cousin too vado we would give her our powder milk because her mom used to make the best buttermilk fudge so we would give her our bag of powdered milk and we'll be like yeah make some fudge in and bring our shears so every time i think of powder milk fudge i always remember her mom auntie davey she used to make like amazing powder milk fudge so this is my take on powder milk fudge we're going to be using some powdered powder milk like dry instant whole milk powder milk i have here some mixed essence sugar nutmeg and water so let's get into the cooking process of this delicious powder milk fudge so guys we have a pan here that i just um add my sugar and i'm going to go ahead and add my water to this that's the first step in the process and again everything i'm using will be listed in the description box below along with the measurements so what i'm just doing i'm just and incorporated the sugar into the um water mixture and i'm going to grate my nutty egg into that the nutmeg is optional you don't have to add nutmeg if you don't want it the essence i'm gonna add towards the end of the cooking process of this so that's it guys for now we're going to let this sugar started to um come to a boil and thicken up as it started to come to a boil and thicken up i'm gonna show you guys what we're looking for before we start adding our powder milk so see you guys in that step guys it's been about six minutes now that my syrup has been boiling on the stove on medium to low heat so basically and it's starting to bubble which is a sign showing that it's going to be ready for powder milk soon so i'm just going to like test it and basically we're just talking our finger in here and see the syrup if it's like sticky if it's getting sticky and it's pulling apart back so yeah pretty much like that so that means it's ready for our powder milk what i'm gonna go ahead and do i'm gonna grab our powder milk and we're going to gradually add our powdered milk into here and mix it into our mixture so what we're looking forward to and for it to thicken so about now i'm going to add my mixed essence i'm just gonna incorporate that now to add our powder milk and i'm going to gradually add the powder milk and we're going to stir it in mix it in see how this is coming together nicely guys this is what we're looking for we're not looking for a too stiff consistency or a to um soft consistency for me this is the perfect consistency so what we're gonna go ahead and do we're gonna go ahead and transfer this to a pan that i have lined with parchment paper and you can either line it with parchment paper or you can butter it it's your preference so i'm gonna transfer it and i'm gonna come back and show you guys so guys i went ahead and transferred this to the pan and this is gonna dry up pretty fast so what i'm trying to do i'm trying to smooth this fudge out so i just um went ahead and grabbed a little bit of water and i'm just going to tap it on the spoon and tap it pack it into this fudge like smooth it out spread it out good even in the pan as much as i can get it reason being i like the parchment paper is because when this dry up it's so easy to get it out you just lift the paper out and flip it over on your board to cut you can even use a little bit butter to do this part to smooth it out whatever your preference is i feel the water does the trick as good as the butter whatever your preference again guys everything i am using will be listed in the description box below along with the measurement if you feel you need more sugar and you can always add more or you can alter the recipe and add less so as you can see i'm just pressing this down so come pack it in the pan and here i'm using a 9x5 pan trying to get it as smooth as i can and i think this is pretty much good enough for me so i'm just gonna let this set and it wouldn't take that long to dry so i'll just put it on a timer and i'm sure we're gonna cut this before it gets completely dry because if we don't cut it before it's gonna crumble when we're ready to cut it so i'm gonna let this cool down a little bit and then i'm gonna cut it and let it for the dry down so here you have it guys we're gonna come back with our fudge when it's ready to cut guys so it's been about um five minutes in the cooldown process i am going to go ahead and cut our fudge up because remember i said if we leave it to completely cool down and cut it it's going to break up in pieces so and that's completely fine if you don't want to cut it now and you want to wait and it's either way it's going to break up when it goes in our mouth but i'm looking for perfect nice little squares so we're gonna we're gonna go ahead and cut this so i'm just gonna go straight down in the middle and as you guys can see it's starting to get very tough already and then i'm gonna go straight across and you can cut it to the size you're looking for you can go as big as you want as small as you want your preference guys and as you can see it's already getting very stiff and it's pulling back so like i said make sure to do the part like cut it so what i'm going to go ahead and do i'm going gonna go ahead and run some hot water in my knife and i'm gonna come back again that would ensure that it cuts smoothly yes guys so i went ahead and run some hot water on this and i brought a bowl over with hot water so you see and it's cutting smoother with the hot water in it so there you have it we're going to just leave this to cool down and then we're going to take it out of here and we're going to be sampling some delicious fudge guys okay guys so i went ahead and took our cut up but it's completely dry this take about um probably about 15 minutes for it to dry room temperature and this is what it looks like so today i am going to do a taste test on camera for you guys look at this perfect fudge guys look at the perfectness of this delicious fudge so atiana and i are going to taste fudge um perfect it melts in your mouth what do you think about it it's awesome she just eat the whole thing oh my god but this
