welcome to our first meditation before we begin I highly recommend that you do this with a pair of headphones on it really will help you following the sound and ultimately experience the sensation of transcendence I'm not going to talk much before we do this meditation but just a few points before you can sit wherever you'd like on the chair on the sofa on your carpet I personally use this little meditation pillow made of organic cotton this is just to support my back since I don't have the best posture in the world you don't have to sit in full lotus position for these meditations you need to be comfortable but of course not too comfortable that you will just fall asleep condition your body to respond as well as possible to the meditation sit straight but not too straight and sits proud what you want to avoid is your meditation being ruined but you're not being able to be comfortable with your legs falling asleep your back and neck and discomfort and what not so you might want to try different positions if you prefer having this video on audio formats without the video that is totally possible I have started a podcast where you can get all my content in audio only so you can listen to it in the car or do those meditations without being distracted by the screen and my funny face you can find it on itunes modifying in other podcast places I will link everything in the description below this video okay so let's get started so let's get started keeping your eyes open starts by focusing on the top of your head try to visualize the top of your head being elevated like a puppet would be elevated by a piece of string if like me you feel that your neck is a little bit too tense then let's do a few rounds on each side pretend your head is very heavy like a stone going around your neck going around twice on one side and changing to the other direction let the weight of your head control the movement not the muscles of your head or neck get back to a neutral position and we focus your attention on the top of your head imagine that your head is really holding its balance on your neck no tension no muscles just balance now close your eyes let's start by ridding ourselves of some tensions within your body breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth breathe in counting four one two three four and breathe out gently counting six two three four five and six breathing out longer than breathing in has some really nice detoxifying effects so let's do it for a couple of rounds put your attention on your forehead breathing in gently through the nose two three four and then breathing out through your mouth gently slowly eliminating the tension you might have on your forehead and softening your eyelids for each breath out you will soften and relax the area we are focused on breathe in put your attention on your jaw now breathe out and release all the tension let your jaw loose and receptive to its own weight let gravity do the work let's do that one again because it is common to have some tension there so breathe in slowly through the nose two three four and out through the mouth releasing the tension four five six now let's move our attention down on the shoulders now breathe in through your nose two three four and out you release the tension three four five six let's continue for a minute just so that our whole body is completely relaxed let's put your attention down on your hips and hip flexors now breathe in through your nose two three four and out you release the tension let's now put your attention on your feet breathe in through your nose two three four and out you release the tension take your time now and lose the counts of your breath stop trying to control the flow of your air you just sit there and continue to relax in a short moment you will start hearing a sound it can be any sound I will also stop talking for a while I want you to follow that sound around and put your attention on it like most people your brain will start sending you thoughts they mean they may be good thoughts bad thoughts or totally random thoughts that is perfectly fine do not try to eliminate your thoughts simply find the sound again and put him on the foreground and let your thoughts go to the background don't focus too hard on the sound but gently listen to it you might notice it's going left or right a bit louder or much softer that is perfectly fine don't focus too hard just follow along if you catch yourself thinking just go back to that sound keep breathing but freely don't count your breath and keep relaxing more and more you can even add a very gentle smile on your face you are taking this time for yourself and that makes you feel happy and even more relaxed keeping your eyes closed you are gently going to let the sound go you may feel gratitude towards the sound for accompanying you during the meditation but you are also happy to let it go your time together has passed for now gently put the palms of your head on your eyes feel your skin on your eyelids you may want to gently massage in circular motion your eyelids with the palms of your hand not too hard you also may want to smile happy to have spent a short amount of time with yourself you may feel very relaxed now but also you are excited to get back to whatever it is that you need to do because you know that whatever it is that you need to do you can go back there feeling refreshed relaxed and creative now gently whenever you want open your eyes and take a deep breath from here take your time and get up whenever you feel like getting up I suggest you drink a good glass of water wash your hands and face with some fresh water now whatever happened during this meditation whether you felt good a bit uh needs for your first meditation maybe you didn't feel getting into too much of a transcendence maybe you did whatever happened even if your experience was amazing do not judge your performance on today's meditation remember that meditation is not something you do meditation is a practice so don't try to feel the effects simply sit down a game tomorrow maybe with this tape or by yourself and practice sometimes it's deeper than other times and that's okay okay guys I hope you've enjoyed this meditation I actually got to do it for the video and I feel refreshed and energized and ready to get back to
