QAnon. Annoying people
are always allergic and they like talking
about allergies. They're like: "Linseed is good for me,
but sesame gives me the allergies. Sometimes.
And sometimes it doesn't. Maybe it depends
on the combination..." And they go on and on. Annoying people's
second favorite subject is conspiracy theories. Annoying people love
conspiracy theories. They love saying men went
to Acre instead of the moon, and actually met Elício Guimarães,
who went to... Annoying people love
this kind of theory. Annoying people's
favorite subject must be a mix of allergies
and conspiracy theory. "The mite was created by CIA
to sell Dexchlorpheniramine." It's a constipation theory. During the last months,
we've seen the Congress, the STF
and the press investing in the fight against fake news. But today we're talking about
fake news' grandma, which is conspiracy theory. Maybe you don't remember all of them,
but you surely have heard many. Elvis isn't dead,
Paul McCartney is dead, Hitler isn't dead,
Avril Lavigne is dead. Lady Di actually died,
but she was murdered, like Tancredo Neves,
Getúlio Vargas... Some people are more daring,
saying the minister Teori Zavascki actually died in an accident. But these are just
the most famous ones. There's the reptilian theory, or according to Márcia, the sensitive,
the "reptilinian". Suddenly,
someone came to talk to us. When he turned and started
walking through the corridor, I saw the tail of a lizard,
an alligator! He was a "reptilinian".
I almost died! When I talk about that, my body aches,
because they're in power. They're controlling the world.
They're controlling planet Earth. Yes, kings and queens,
and all that. That explains a lot. Bolsonaro, Trump...
They all have seborrheic dermatitis. They're actually
shedding their skin. It happens to all reptiles. Just google "reptilians".
She hasn't learned how to say it yet. You'll find
a bunch of things online. Actually, don't do that,
it'll be a terrible waste of time. Seriously now, everyone believes in
at least one conspiracy theory. Not all of them are as bizarre
as alligator men who can control us. There are right-wing
conspiracy theories; which include KGB, Soros,
Foro de São Paulo and Globo; and left-wing conspiracy theories,
which include the CIA, militaries, CBF and Globo. I for one believe that
when Brazil loses a World Cup, it's because someone
paid for it to happen, even knowing
it doesn't make sense. But in 1998, nobody could explain
Ronaldo passing out, except for the fact that Nike
and Adidas bought World Cups. Everybody knows that. It's the coffee with milk politics
for World Cups. That's how it works. That 7x1 match
was clearly manipulated. Actually, Germans
were too generous on the tip. They paid for it in euros,
so Brazil had to live up to it. Oscar's goal was unintentional. I believe they even had to
give back the change afterwards. The pandemic encouraged
a more dangerous type of theory, the pseudo-scientific theory,
which is usually related to health. For you to have an idea,
28% of Americans believe the vaccine will implant
a microchip in people, in an operation idealized
by Bill Gates. Yes, a chip, through the vaccine. In Brazil, I'm sure they'll implant
a prepaid SIM card. Your antibody package
will be over in a week. You're fucked,
you'll be contaminated again. This pandemic is taking so long that I'm almost going
to visit Bill Gates to ask for my chip. Like Pedro's ex-girlfriend,
from that video. Bring me my chip! Bring me my chip, Pedro! Give me my chip, Pedro!
Give me my chip! Pedro! "Bill, give my chip! Bill Gates! You don't even have to open the door,
just throw it through the Windows. No problem,
but give me my chip, Bill." One of the most famous people
who defend this chip theory is rapper, stylist,
Kim Kardashian's husband, Kanye West. He declared he's not getting the vaccine
because it has the mark of the beast. To Kanye, the vaccine is a plan
to control society. He already said that:
"They want to put chips inside us they want to do
all kinds of things, to make it where we can't cross
the gates of heaven." I like that he thinks chips
from the vaccine will prevent you from crossing
the gates of heaven. Just imagine Saint Peter
with a metal detector, like: "Hey, you're beeping.
Do you have the chip? You should've taken it out. You can't cross it." Among all the current theories, there's one that is becoming
strong and dangerous, which is the QAnon theory. Its supporters are everywhere, but mostly at Trump's rallies
in the U.S. These people wearing T-shirts
with the letter Q are not fans
of the musical "Avenue Q", neither fans of the old guy
who gives guns to James Bond, neither fans
of the 12th card from a deck, neither fans of the set
of rational numbers, neither fans of Queiroz. They support the QAnon theory. "Q", the letter,
and "Anon" meaning anonymous. QAnon is an anonymous poster
of message boards, such as 4Chan, who in 2017, started to present himself as an informant
from the American government. According to Q,
there's a satanic and pedophile cult that controls every area of the State
and social life for decades. This network is composed
by billionaires, members of the media
and from Hollywood, as well as politicians
and intelligence agents. Besides molesting kids,
this network would also use children for immortality rituals. According to the informant, Trump has decided to fight
pedophilia and satanism. That's why he gets so many critics
from the media and the artists. No, it's not because
of his administration scandals. There's a whole page for it
on Wikipedia, in alphabetic order. The QAnons are also suspicious
about vaccines, of course, global warming,
September 11 attacks, and they're even suspicious about
the Coronavirus pandemic. A research published by BBC shows
that QAnon's outreach has increased a lot on social media
during the pandemic. Check out what they say
about the virus. "Between heartbreaking
and hilarious." It sounds like what people
would say about Greg News. On YouTube, we found
many comments like: "Greg News makes me depressed", or this particularly sad comment: "I'm watching Greg News
to increase my daily wish to die." Thanks for the kind words, guys.
I love you too. The theory doesn't have any kind
of evidence for its accusations. Celebrities
don't eat babies, guys. They eat placentas,
it's not the same. In fact,
celebrities don't eat babies because babies are not vegan. If avocado or tofu babies existed,
then they'd do it. But not for now.
Take heart, Bela Gil: avocado baby recipe. Back to QAnon, the letter Q
represents the clearance of this anonymous person. Just like Will Smith on "Men in Black",
in which he was called J, while Tommy Lee Jones was K. Yes, they watched "Men in Black"
and think the American government names its top secret agents just like
São Paulo people name their friends. "There's G, T, K..." Instead of involving aliens
and Will Smith, this theory reveals
that a secret war is happening inside the government. Tom Hanks? I think they picked
the wrong cast for this. If it were another actor...
I wouldn't vouch for John Travolta, or Nicolas Cage, but Tom Hanks
is like Zeca Pagodinho for them. If you say Zeca
is member of a cult, tell me which one
because I want to join. It must be a nice cult.
It's the same for Tom Hanks. "Greg, these theories
are nothing new." You're right. Bizarre theories
have always existed. Masonic people who performed
gruesome rituals and controlled everything. Or aliens, that built pyramids
and controlled everything. Or the Varginha UFO,
that came to Earth to rule Varginha. Something like that. Not to mention "Chupa-Cu"
from Goianinha. In case you don't know,
it's like a chupacabra that has taken
Olavo de Carvalho's courses and changed its preferences. These lies have always existed,
of course, but QAnon is different. Why? While previous theories have always seen
rulers as villains hiding the truth, QAnon is the opposite. The most powerful man
in the world is the hero. To them, Donald Trump
is a savior. Since the president's always been
rich and influent, he has always known
about this diabolical plan. In fact, he became friends
with some people from the network to spy on them closely. Yes, they think the best way
to fight pedophilia is being friends with a pedophile,
like Jeffrey Epstein, Trump's BFF who organized a prostitution
and pedophilia network for years, to rich and powerful people. In 2002, Trump made this statement
about Epstein: "I've known Jeff for 15 years,
terrific guy, a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes
beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them
are on the younger side." People saw that
as a weird compliment back then. It was actually an accusation,
but no one noticed it. Maybe that's what they think. Trump understood that the only way
to end this powerful network was having more power than them. That's why he decided
to run for president, to save us from pedophiles. If Trump himself never said that, it's to catch pedophiles
red handed. He's just waiting for the right time
to expose everyone. There's a name for this day in which
all humanity will see the truth: it's "the storm", a day when thousands of people
will be arrested or executed. So that day comes, he'll have to keep on
being the U.S. president. Of course, because it's not
the right time to expose everyone yet. The expectation for this day
that hasn't come yet turns this conspiracy into
a powerful electoral support tool, not only for Trump,
but also many opportunists who see the theory
as a way to reach power. And that's where the danger lies.
This crazy idea stops being just some theory
and becomes, according to the NYT, "the most dangerous conspiracy theory
in the 21st century." Instead of crazy people's talk,
it found meeting points with the power, gaining supporters
inside the U.S. politics. Many republican candidates have already
come out in support of QAnon, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the most enthusiastic
about the theory. She'll run for a congressional seat
for the state of Georgia. Or like Lauren Boebert,
Colorado's candidate, and Matthew Lusk,
Florida's candidate. Lusk says he's not sure if there's a bunch of pedophiles
related to the deep state, but "I believe that there's a group
in Brussels that eat aborted babies." For Christ's sake, guys. Americans eat meat gum. What are you talking about? You eat chicken wings in a bucket.
You drink iced coffee in a can. You eat fried chicken
with waffles. And worse, you drink
a weird beverage called Pepsi, that according to Olavo,
it's sweetened with fetuses. Yes, he said that.
I mean, it's the same. More serious than that, a very powerful general in the country,
Michael Flynn, the first national security advisor
in Trump's government, is a QAnon supporter. On the 4th of July,
Independence Day, the general made a video
reciting his oath, and in the end, he chanted
the QAnon main slogan with his family. "Where we go one, we go all." It's the most ass-licker chant
I've ever heard. The worst slogan ever.
I mean, c'mon, guys! It sounds like a lame slogan
created by people from Rio. Like: "Where we go one,
we go all. Fuck it." But it's really important. It's a public statement
that you're part of the group and it sums up
the essence of the theory, that everyone is committed
to one another. And that they'll believe the guidelines
without questioning. It's not a coincidence that
another slogan became a dogma to them, which is "trust the plan". But no one explains what's the plan,
they just tell them to trust it. It's the type of sentence
that precedes a disaster, just like:
"When did I ever let you down, bro?", or "It's just a cold." This idea
of an invisible strategy is meant to maintain the theory
as a kind of fundamentalist cult. This is bringing
real consequences. Last year, the FBI referred to QAnon
as a potential threat to internal security in the U.S. Some supporters are already
involved in armed conflicts and at least one murder. Suck it, "300 do Brasil". Due to this FBI classification, Twitter banned over 7k profiles
related to QAnon. The reason wasn't spreading lies, but the violent potential
of these ideas. It's the famous:
"You can lie, but not kill." Why are we so worried about
an American bizarre theory if Brazil already has
dystopia enough? Why not valuing national stupidity instead
of kissing up to foreign fake news? Because Brazil could easily
become QAnon paradise. To understand how these crazy people's
paranoid messianism is getting here, it's important that we
break it down into crucial parts. The first one is the idea that there's a pedophilia network
behind everything that has to be eliminated
at any cost. And that its aggravators would be
people taking progressive stands publicly. To understand
how pedophilia accusations became key
for Brazilian networks of hatred, we just need to look
at Felipe Neto's case, who's being assaulted after
releasing a video in the NYT, criticizing Bolsonaro. He had his profile forged,
with a message he's never written about pedophilia. Enough! Enough! Where are you, Felipe Neto? You're a bastard! A bastard! To me, you're a pedophile disguised
as a children's TV presenter! Yeah, Felipe Neto, we'll meet soon.
I want to see if you're man enough. I want to see
if you're man enough to face me. Your security guards
don't scare me. Things will get heavy! "We'll meet soon.
I want to see if you're man enough." It sounds like they met on Tinder
and haven't been on a date yet. "Just wait until quarantine is over.
I want to see if you're man enough!" On the 14th of July,
Bolsonaro declared without any proof that the left-wing is trying
to decriminalize pedophilia. He presented a law project
with more severe measures to punish sexual abuse
against children and teenagers. He created this law project a week
after Fabrício Queiroz was arrested. Maybe the child he was
worried about protecting was this big guy who likes
to play "rachadinha" with his kids. We're watching you. This statement by Bolsonaro
is like some fake news spread
between May and July this year, promoted
by the website Gospel Prime. The name of this site sounds like
a rewards program for evangelicals. "Gospel Prime, for you,
preferred evangelical." Gospel Prime announced that the number of groups
in favor of pedophilia was increasing on social media. After that, Bolsonaro's speech was supported
by congresswoman Janaína Paschoal. She wrote a tweet, saying: "I understand
when the president says the left-wing is trying
to decriminalize pedophilia. I do, because
it's very common to see left-wingers relativizing
sex with kids under 14. There are even decisions
excusing adults who had sexual relationships with
kids under 14 who were prostituted." Every time I read Janaína's posts,
I think about her saying that while spinning
a Brazilian flag over her head... Only that would justify. As Janaína stated herself, there are real decisions
excusing adults who had relationships
with kids under 14, like the case
of the farmer Geraldo Brambilla. He was arrested on the spot, accused of raping
a 13-year-old girl, and then acquitted
after his lawyers appealed. But the primarily responsible
for Bambrilla's release is far from being a left-winger. It's the magistrate
Felix Fischer, STJ minister who acted
on Operation Car Wash, denying many requests
from Lula's defense. Recently, he was the rapporteur
of Queiroz's habeas corpus. Janaína, I understand
when people say you're not crazy,
but opportunist. I do, because it's very common
for you to be opportunist. And sometimes crazy, but I think
it's to disguise the opportunism. The idea that the left-wing
encourages pedophilia in Brazil is not new. This has been politically
captured by the right-wing since the pedophilia CPI
in the Senate, which happened
between 2008 and 2010. All CPI members were men, and most of them
were evangelical. The CPI president
was former senator Magno Malta, who besides being evangelical
and pagode singer, is involved
with many corruption scandals. The CPI ended with no indictment, revealing to be Magno's strategy
to be reelected. We don't think there's a satanic,
pedophile network controlling the world, but it's impossible
they didn't find any pedophiles to indict
in the whole country. We must have a CPI for the CPI. In 2016, a video
by Silas Malafaia went viral, in which he said the left-wing
supported pedophilia and gender reassignment for kids. Do you know what
gender ideology preaches? That if someone is a pedophile,
they were born with that impulse. Okay? Pedophilia, zoophilia, incest, sex between
fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, siblings... That's an ideological game
by left-wing sociopaths! Okay? It'll destroy the family and build another type
of society. That's what they want. Are evangelical pastors forced
to raise their voices when they're mad? It's like an impulse! I've never seen Malafaia
speaking calmly. Or the he wasn't...
I'm raising my voice again. He's always angry and outraged! He always puts some B flats
in his sentences! Or a sharp!
Or a diminished chord! He can't talk! It's an impulse! In the society! He could drop
the rebellious youtuber act. That's so 2014... Felipe Neto himself
has already dropped that. He could try something different,
maybe a react video. I'd watch Silas reacting to when
he was convicted by the justice to compensate Marcelo Freixo,
for instance. If you didn't know,
Malafaia was convicted in the first instance for affirming
during 2016's electoral campaign that Freixo was in favor
of erotic booklets in schools and that if he was elected, 6-year-old kids would learn
about sexuality. Malafaia's channel
would get more subscribers if there was the video: "Unboxing a subpoena letter. I tried trolling the candidate,
but the judge convicted me. Check out what happened!" Not to mention Damares saying that in the Netherlands,
people masturbate babies, or with
penis-shaped baby bottles... The supposed penis-shaped baby bottles
that Bolsonaro supporters accused Haddad of distributing at nurseries and schools
of São Paulo. Our differential compared to gringos
is basically creativity, mixed with malice. When would a gringo create
a penis baby bottle? They don't even
have a word for that. It's like the word "saudade". They have the words "dick" and "cock",
but they don't have a word for that. Freud would say they envy us. That's why I say Brazil
is a trendsetter country. It's QAnon's hipster. Our right-wing has been accusing
other people of pedophilia since way before it was a trend. Then, why comparing it
to QAnon's crazy idea? Because the pedophilia paranoia is starting to be related
to other factors of this theory. What's the second factor? It's the idea that
the president himself is the savior. He's a guy who saw
how the system works and ran office
to try and dismantle this nefarious network of satanists
and aborted fetus eaters. That's why he seems to be crazy
for many people. And that's why the press chases him
and he seems to fight alone. He's like a messiah. Our messiah is called Messias. This lone wolf in this crusade
against left-wing sociopaths, PT supporters,
abortion supporters... Not wolf, lion.
Like on that video he posted on Twitter. On the video,
Bolsonaro is represented by a lion surrounded
and threatened by hyenas. Hyenas represent the press, political parties, including PSL,
the president's party, OAB
and the Supreme Federal Court. In the end, another lion appears, identified as "conservative patriot",
that scares away the hyenas. I love this genre, it's like
Discovery Channel with memes. "Right there you can see
Gretchen representing a POC." Our messiah survived a stab, COVID-19, and three crazy sons. He's a guy
who really went through hell. Only him, with his background
as an athlete, could face the media, refute WHO
and travel Brazil with no mask and sick, to protect Brazil
from sickness... All that for what?
To fight against the system. And it's a reality. It's the truth. I'm fighting against the system. Against the "establisher". He really fights
against everything, including the comedian
Eduardo Sterblitch. To protect his family, our messiah
promises to arm the population, put militaries in schools, film teachers,
chase government officials, spread fake news... To do that,
a department was created to destroy the reputation
of those who criticize him. The idea is convincing you
to trust the plan. You have to trust
and not pay attention to facts. Don't pay attention
to the 100k deaths by COVID, don't pay attention to the deposits
on Flávio and Michelle's accounts. Because there's a bigger plan
that will be revealed soon. The Bolsonaro theory is also supported
by QAnon's third factor: the long-expected D-Day. It's the great torment,
the day of the storm. In Jair's case,
the great golden shower day. There will be a day,
according to the theory, in which the president
will show what he's made of. One day, satanists
and pedophiles will be defeated, the humble will be exalted,
and only those who trusted the plan, those who followed the revelations,
wore T-shirts, suffered bullying for believing
in the theory will be redeemed. Supporters wait for that
with great expectation, and they're prepared
to do whatever for that big day. The day he'll shoot PT supporters,
close STF and Globo, will send everyone out the beach, the big day
of the Bolsonarist rapture. So, dear people, this behavior...
I understand people who have a moderate behavior, per say. So we don't have a rupture,
an even greater division, a bigger conflict,
I understand these people. They want to avoid chaos. But to be clear,
Eduardo Bolsonaro's opinion here, it's not about "if",
but "when" this is going to happen. I like that he said it's just Eduardo Bolsonaro's opinion,
in the third person, because before it was
an absolute truth. He likes to explain this is
just the opinion of a thinker. He says it's not about "if",
but "when". Eduardo Bolsonaro
is a great Parnassian poet. In Brazil, the number of posts
referring to QAnon has increased
during the pandemic, specially around
the operation storm. Brazilian businessmen are being warned
they can be QAnon's next target. Actually, it doesn't matter
if it has the same name or symbols around here, because QAnon is a theory adapted
to American culture and imagination. What we have is an alignment with its tactics and purposes. What we have is the discovery
of people who's already in power that the best way
to remain in power is pretending that
you're fighting against a secret power. And that's really powerful,
not only for presidents, but also for supporters
of the theory because it doesn't just free
the president from critics, but also voters
from self-criticism. If you're fighting against a great evil
and satanic pedophiles, you don't need
to rethink your vote. You don't need to listen
to scientists, spiritual leaders, your family,
or your own conscience when it says you might
have chosen the wrong candidate. You just need to trust the plan and trust the president
who's putting it into practice. Then there's the most brilliant trick
by authoritarians: the best way to hide a conspiracy
is conspiring at daylight. Last week, the "Piauí" magazine
published a crucial article. It reports about a ministerial meeting
in which Bolsonaro announced that he'd intervene in the STF and send troops
to close the Supreme Court. Did he deny? Of course not. He's simply giving his voters what he's been promising since
his campaign, the D-Day, operation storm. The day he'll give Brazil
the truth by himself, the one that will free us and that can purge Brazil of STF,
the Congress and the 1988 Constitution. You know what's most surprising
about it, at least for me? The article
didn't surprise anyone. It was ordinary for me
when I read it. Apparently, the STF, the Chamber,
the Senate, the Prosecutor's Office and most part of the press
didn't do anything. So, we end up
in a bizarre paradox because it's easy to make fun
of Bolsonarists, Trumpists, crazy people,
flat earthers in general or QAnons. But maybe more alarming that having
crazy people who believe in fake theories is having many lucid people
who don't believe in evident truths. It's as if people thought
that Bolsonaro's scam is just another little lie. As if it were shoddy,
like the network of satanic pedophiles and fetus eaters. But we just need
to remember our history. It's not because the coup
was moved by a lie that it can't become real. Right now, everything is obvious. If Bolsonaro spoke openly
and officially about pulling a coup, he must leave the government and probably go to jail for everything he's been doing
under our noses. Political control over the State,
attacks on public health, obstruction of justice,
coup threat... But the person who could
hold him accountable and stop this coup doesn't seem to believe in it. The president of the Chamber of Deputies,
Rodrigo Maia, says he doesn't see a reason
to proceed with impeachment requests. And here's a question:
who's the most naive? Your inconvenient uncle
who believes in crazy theories or a whole country that doesn't
believe in the obvious eminence of a coup attempt? It seems we're also doing
our share for D-Day. Unlike the supporters
of our messianic president, we're passively waiting, not doing anything
to stop this prophecy. In this case,
the truth won't free anyone. What can bring us freedom is, at least, an impeachment. This has been Greg News.
