hey guys welcome to Henry's blues and boogie woogie rock and roll kind of sessions moved into the garage today or the garage or we're gonna call it because a piano acoustic piano very out of tune now and because we're all practiced in social distancing I can't bring the piano tuner over so they're left to wait till we can all get together again in the future so I'm going to be doing today's lesson on this keyboard which it's a roll of the keyboard and it's just right for this lesson because all the notes are really really clear and they're perfectly in tune so I'll be able to show you all the bits that I want to show you from this tutorial which is great balls of fire classic Jerry Lee Lewis titude with loads of great piano on it and I'm going to break it down and show you some of the the parts and how to put it all together into a whole piece of music that you can play any way you like so here we go oh okay so we're gonna start off with the opening lick which begins with our little finger on the G and then our thumb on the G up here we move up we move up to the same principle just goes that it's just the left hand there's no right hand part for that bit and we go into the groove part which the left hand this boogie-woogie what we're doing their little finger goes up to see then we hit the C on its own then we make another chord with a so when we put that with the right hand the vamp in the right hand is it's a riff thumb is on the C middle whatever this finger is index finger this finger it makes a chord [Music] and we play the see again move the entire shape up to the FD [Music] [Music] up to the F we have a walk-up which is similar to the the intro it's this we've done it before and that goes straight into the F part of the groove that we've just known and we stab on the G and we're doing a g7 chord an octave G and the octave above and then this thumb hits the G and the F together index finger hits the B this finger hits the D and then our finger at the top it's the F chord literally we do now is this hander stays in the same place this sound was moved down and now our thumb is on B find X finger is on the D and this finger here is on the beat yes and he's singing got to tell us world that you mad mad mad man and the chord is between the words [Music] we have AG literally use a lot of these now you can do these in many ways I like to use this part of my finger not many people do that most people use that thumb anyway you got to get the timing right and then they're moving in through a different left hand yeah for the groove part but it's not for the same chords it goes like this [Music] so just to run through that again what we're doing here is we are little finger goes on the scene and then we're alternating with a cord in the right corner alternating with [Music] you and we're going to the solo and solo Jerry Lee uses one of his classic left hands which is this one [Music] and then the right-hand part this is the piano solo it's a very famous piano solo and we move the band a bit higher than we've done before and it's this again so it's a bit different this time because we are beginning with this part so this finger is on the E flat this finger is on the Qi and we make a chord and then we slide off the flat onto the C and then C then we move on do that a few times like this then we move up to this chord which is another Jerry Lee chord he uses a low index finger from the D flat then this finger on the G a and then the C at the top then we bring in the glisten [Applause] again so the whole solo goes like this [Music] [Applause] and part two of the solo we move the hand up even further and we do this record another classic Jerry Lee rock and roll chord we played the G the thumb index finger on the E flat again then this finger plays the top and at this point the left hand changes again and it goes c c/e with a flat grey-sloan in it G B flat B flat again E sorry see this and repeated on the F and then when he goes to the G and this part of the solo he does something different rather than play this he just hits the G chord like this goes like this [Laughter] [Applause] see what I did there with the glass and we're going to go up to the DF again and in order to get there we're going to hit this chord c7 chord that takes us up to the F at this point is doing this left hand over which is doing a trill practice that it's a troll with a little lead up to G g-sharp [Music] is that G core that we played last time [Music] [Music] so that is a breakdown a great balls of fire by Charlie Lewis to really get the get the tutorial I suggest you listen to their record a lot and then come back to this tutorial after words I hope you've enjoyed it and if you are if you would like to donate to the channel please feel free to leave me a little PayPal donation on the link thank you very much for listening guys and you'll stay safe out there
