Goodnotes Update adding LINKS! Several ways to use this NEW FEATURE!

hey everybody welcome to a midweek video tutorial for you guys here in good notes i just recently realized that this month good notes released a brand new feature that tons of us have been asking asking asking for so i want to show you a few different ways that you can use that and how easy it is to use so if you're new here to the channel we talk about all things digital planning and making your life a breeze and a lot more productive so our planners have a very basic design and they can be super simple and out of the box or you can make them as complex as you want with our original widget idea with our little spaces to put those in and we have inserts where you can totally make the planner your own so if you're interested in any of that we have tons of videos here on youtube we're on instagram we're on tick tock we're on facebook and you can find out more information there but to get into today's quick little tip this is not going to be a very long video i wanted to let you all know that goodnotes has a brand new release our feature that was released in november of 2021 which is what it is right now and this is my november spread in our brand new farmhouse planners we have them dated and undated and we have three different themes for you to choose from this year okay so to get into the goodnotes tip it is an awesome tip that we have been waiting for that is the ability to put in an external link within your planner before you could only do this if you actually made the planner and was in a different type of software but now you can definitely add in a link inside your planner anywhere that you would like so i think this is awesome if you have um maybe a festival of lights here and say this is something that goes on in st louis missouri so so say i wanted the ability to be able to be like okay i want to figure out what this is later i'm going to put it in on my calendar this is a great way for you to be able to go to a website and save all the information about the festival of lights that i wanted to add into my calendar so i can simply copy this here and then i can go back to my good notes i can click on the text icon and i'm going to highlight i'll probably highlight festival here and then it comes up with link so i'm going to hit link and then i'm going to highlight all of this and i'm going to paste and then i'm just going to hit return and it shows you that you have a link here because it puts these dotted lines on it and then if you're not a fan of the lines that it's going to put underneath there which sometimes i like it to realize that i've got something linked there but on a like a pretty spread that you're trying to keep pretty there's a way around that so you're gonna hit the text icon and then you're gonna hit um just hit anywhere to add text and then i'm gonna get my keyboard up and then i'm just gonna create some spaces okay and then you're gonna highlight the spaces which are blank and then you're going to add in your code and hit enter so this is the same um you know web address that you had just copied that we just added over there and then we are going to lasso that and we are going to bring it down on top of this and then wherever you placed it you can just click and then it says external link do you want to open this and you just hit yes and then it's going to take you to your webpage really really fun i like this idea for tons of different reasons so you can add in stuff like that you could add in maybe locations if you typed in and google and figured out the location of somewhere that you're traveling um if you're going on vacation and you found some really good articles on vacation you could add those to like your widget or to your travel planner or any of that sort of thing you can even link your own like social media accounts like if there's something that you want to link to maybe there's a video that you have on instagram you can totally add that link and put it into your planner so i'm thinking for like a memory uh planner thing which would be really really fun and then you could also add this in i'm thinking for like recipes so if you wanted to go to pinterest and you found a recipe that you really really liked so say i'm going to make these peanut butter cookies i'm going to click on this and then i'm going to copy the link and then i'm going to go back to goodnotes and i'm going to go on my weekly spread here which actually this is a good good way to show you this is like thanksgiving so say i am making this apple pie for thanksgiving so you can do this the same way if you wanted to show the links you can or you can add in your text and you can do your space bar [Music] and then copy it and we're going to link and then highlight press paste and then there's your actually i didn't do the apple pie i did the cookies but it's okay it works the same way well i said if you want to be able to see and then you could just drag this right down on top of the pi and then you can make it this writing smaller if you're adding tons of links you can make the writing to where it's just going to fit over there and then whenever you toggle off your pin icon and you click on pie which it's actually cookies i should have put it over sugar cookies it's gonna take you right to that recipe how fun and easy is that you can add this into your recipe book for the main place that use our source that you got the recipe from just in case they give a little bit more videos or tutorials or pictures there's tons of ways that you can use this another really cool way that you could use this is say you wanted to link in your memory planner so we're going to go on instagram and we're going to find a video that we really really like and you can do this with pictures but i think videos is extra special because you can't really put videos inside your planner so i have this really cute one of my son's birthday that i want to add in so i can hit the three dots up here and hit copy link and then i can go to good notes so say on his birthday i am doing this spread so let me open up my um widget and sticker planner so this is his birthday i pulled it up on uh my planner but you could totally do this in the memory planner stuff too would be really really cute so let's go to the lasso tool and let's say we want to take pictures from his birthday so let's do um let's just do favorites this week um and paste it over here so i'm going to type in november 7th it's going to bring up pictures from his birthday i'm going to grab this one of me and him and then i'm going to grab i'm going to put it right here crop this i'll put it right here i'm going to crop in the side here okay i'm going to crop in just a little bit more perfect okay we're going to add that in there and then i can add the text just like on the other one add in my space bars copy it link so we're going to paste in the code right this time instead of keeping it on the good notes one once you have copied in your code you're going to click off of the pencil icon to make it the link active and then you're gonna click and it says external link and you're gonna hit yes and then it took me to instagram and this is the spread that it's on now if you had it on the front the movie like on the front one it would bring it right up but this one you have to scroll over to the movie and then there you go [Music] you can watch that video and have it in inside so you don't have to go and find it on your instagram it's right there re really easy to access within your planner or your memory planner i think this is amazing joining these two options so that is just a couple of ways that you can use that there's tons and tons of ideas if you just um think about different ways that you could use those links i know if you're a teacher and you have different guidelines and stuff that you guys go through you could totally copy that link in there so that's easy accessible for you guys there's just so many ways that you can use that so i hope you enjoyed this quick little tutorial on good notes and their new linking feature i think it's amazing i hope you guys use it if you
