God Wants You Well - Week 5, Day 1 - The Gospel Truth

truth healing is just as much a part of what Jesus died to produce as forgiveness of sins the first thing we said to her when she woke up was Jesus's healed you he wishes about all things that we be in hell and she had gone from half of a heart to it being fully there it was just awesome I'm telling you you don't have to live 6 God wants you well welcome to our Mondays broadcast of the gospel truth today I'm starting my fifth week of teaching on God won't you well man that's been a long time and I've still got a long ways to go one of the things that's kind of lengthened this is that we now have six volumes of testimonies of people who have been miraculously healed you know we've got thousands and thousands of people that have been miraculously healed through this ministry but we've documented some of them and I've been interspersing some of these testimonies in there because I believe it's good to not only hear it and hear what the word says but also to see it demonstrated Paul said that his preaching wasn't in word only but in power and in demonstration of the Spirit it's a little hard in my television program you know to demonstrate the things that I'm talking about so that's the reason that we take these testimonies here that are on these DVDs and show them and I think it's really really been powerful so this week we are talking about reasons why people are not healed if it's God's will if healing is a part of the atonement then why isn't everybody healed well you could say the same thing about why isn't everybody saved is that a reflection that somehow know that Jesus didn't provide salvation for everybody no it's an indication that they aren't receiving and there are reasons why people aren't saved multiple reasons there's also multiple reasons why people aren't healed there are some people that desire salvation long part and prayed but they just never get the assurance that God has heard their prayer and they live their whole life tormented whether or not they're safe likewise there are people that desire to be healed and they pray and ask for it but they just don't ever have the faith to believe that it's really done not because God didn't provide it but because that person for whatever reason is not receiving let me use an example here from the 17th chapter of the book of Matthew where his disciples Jesus own disciples says why wasn't this boy here why couldn't we cast this demon out this is in matthew chapter 17 and let me just give you the background that in the first few verses of matthew chapter 17 is where jesus took three of his disciples peter james and john and they went up on a mountain and there he began to radiate light and an audible voice came out of the Shekinah glory cloud of god that overshadowed them and he spoke and said this is my beloved son hear him and they also saw moses and elijah talking with jesus and explaining things that were going to happen at his soon-to-be crucifixion I mean it was a glorious time and down at the bottom of this mountain Jesus had left his remaining nine disciples down there and the crowds had come to them and there was a man who had brought his son who the Bible here calls lunatics the King James Version calls him a lunatic which today we use that word to describe somebody who's mentally imbalanced but in in this language at this time I've studied a number of commentaries on this nearly everybody believes that this was some type of a disorder that caused seizures matter of fact this same story is recorded in mark chapter 9 and there it gives the example that when they brought this boy to Jesus that he wallowed on the ground and foamed at the mouth very similar to what we call epilepsy today so when the King James here is calling this he's lunatic it's talking about some type of a seizure disorder so in Matthew chapter 17 there came to a certain man kneeling down to him and saying lord have mercy on my son for he is lunatic and sore vexed oftimes he falleth into the fire and off into the water and I brought him to thy disciples and they could not cure him and jesus answered and said o faithless and perverse generation how long shall I be with you how long shall I suffer you bring him hither to me now before I get into why the disciples couldn't cast the spirit out and deal with these things let me just say that Jesus wasn't pleased with his disciples inability to cast this demon out and produce a healing in this boy and he said that you are a perverse generation a faithless and perverse generation you know let me just make this comparison that today if you were to take the average person that has seizures convulsions like this boy did are just any type of sickness and if you were to take them to the average pastor today and and you know so please help me the average pastor's say well have you been to the doctor have you tried this medicine have you done this you know that the church today does not feel an obligation doesn't feel a responsibility they don't feel like they have the authority to deal with healing and I guarantee you if the average pastor had somebody come to them and say could you please heal me that first thing they do well have you been to the doctor try this we send them someplace else the Lord was not pleased with his disciples he didn't tell them well guys you should have sent them to the doctors or you should have just waited on me I'm sorry I'll take care of this don't you worry about it no he was displeased and he says you are a faithless in perverse generation now I believe in the grace of God and I believe that God loves us and I believe that God has forgiven us praise God and I believe in the grace of God but I don't believe that it pleases God that we aren't represent improperly again jesus said these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out Devils they shall speak with new tongues if they drink any deadly thing it shall not harm them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover and I think I missed it somewhere in there it also says they'll take up serpents and they won't be harmed by but man it says that we are supposed to be walking in this supernatural power of God in the average Christian today doesn't walk in this power and doesn't feel anything wrong with that there are entire denominations I was brought up in a denomination that taught that miracles passed away with the Apostles sure it happened in the Bible but it doesn't happen today that is not true Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever it is just as much Jesus will to heal people today as it was back during the days that the Bible was written it's not Jesus that's changed it's his representatives that have changed and people have quit proclaiming that it is God's will to be healed and because of it they have put their stamp of approval on it and they send people to the doctors and to the bankers and to the psychologists instead of us meeting their needs and there's many things I could say about that but this is one reason that the church has lost a lot of its relevance and that the church has been by the majority of people the church has been pushed to the side like you meet over there in your buildings and you do your own thing but you stay out of the public square you have no relevance to us and one of the reasons that people have that attitude is because the church has not been preaching healing we have not been preaching prosperity and deliverance and we've been sending people to the lawyers and to the bankers and to all of these people Jesus wanted his people to minister to the needs and he was displeased you faithless and perverse generation how long am I going to be here he was wanting them to begin to start doing this and when you take into account that if you were to go back into the tenth chapter of the book of Matthew let me just read a little bit of this in verse one it says and when he had called unto him his twelve disciples he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease not some of it but all of it he gave his disciples the authority over all sickness and over all disease and then right after this he sent them out and he said in verse seven as you go preach saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand heal the sick cleanse the lepers raise the dead cast out Devils freely you have received freely give he did not tell his disciples to pray for the sick and asked me to heal them you can't do anything you have no power go out there and just tell the people I am nothing I have nothing I can do nothing but I know one that can and you we're gonna pray and ask God to stretch forth his hand and he'll see even if people pray for healing today that's kind of the approach that they take they come before God no God we are nothing we can do nothing we have nothing but you can do all things know jesus told his disciples he says I give you power authority over all sickness and overall disease nag you heal the sick he didn't tell you to pray for the sick he told you to heal the sick there's a huge difference a huge difference man I could just get off right here and just preach on the authority of the believer that's the reason that this little USB that we're offering it has not only my teaching on healing but I've got this series on here and the authority of the believer because you've got to understand that God gave you power it's not up to God whether or not people get healed it's up to us it's up to the individual primarily but then we can encourage other people we can tell them the truth we can mix our faith with theirs we can pray with them and the reason that people aren't being healed today is not because Jesus doesn't want them healed and hasn't provided it it's because there are very few people preaching the truth let me go back and make this compare again with salvation the reason people aren't getting saved today is not because Jesus didn't provide salvation for them but there are not a lot of people out preaching the gospel and again like I was saying a minute ago those who are preaching the gospel do it primarily in their church buildings we don't get outside the four walls we are being marginalized and pushed out of the marketplace our voice is being silenced now not totally I mean I'm going television there's many people that are on television there's some great things that are happening but I'm saying as a whole the average Christian has been cowed into silence they are afraid to stand up and say that homosexuality is sin it's wrong there's afraid to stand up and say that murdering a child in the mother's womb is wrong it's politically incorrect there's his spirit of Antichrist that is dominant and most Christians have been cowed into silence you know just yesterday I spent the whole afternoon with George Barna who's the one that runs the Barna surveys and stuff he's been often said that he's the most quoted man in America because his surveys are used by so many people and anyway he came to help us on some things so I was meeting with George Barna and he's got a new I don't know what you call it a new survey or a new anyway there was something he was saying that the reason America is going the direction that it's going is because of the disengage that disengaged or destroy in America it's not the ungodly that's a destroy in America the ungodly have always been here you can go back and read church history you can go back and read American history and find out that there were homosexuals there were people that were fighting against morality there were people that did not want us to take a stand did you know during the American Revolution I forget the exact figures but I got this from talking to David Barton and and again I forget the exact figures but there was only like twenty or twenty five percent of the American colonists who fought the revolution and who stood and made this declaration of depend and gained our freedom from Great Britain there was probably 50% of the people that were passive and then there was 50 there was 25% of that remaining or half of that remaining group that probably wanted independence but they weren't ready to fight there was only about 20-25 percent of the population that just took the stand and brought this freedom in this Liberty to America that has been not only a blessing to Americans but a blessing to the entire world there's always been just a small percentage and so there were ungodly there were people that were passive back in those days but the ones who were passionate stood up and took a stand today it's the same thing there are is ungodliness in this nation but it's not the ungodly that's destroying the nation it's the disengaged it's the Christians who are passive and will not stand up and will not speak the Word of God and will not take a stand man that's big what I'm saying and see Jesus here was dealing with his disciples and he told them you go heal the sick he gave them power and authority so you've got to remember all of this and factor this back into this situation in the 17th chapter where the disciples they brought this boy who had this epilepsy or some type of seizure problem to them and they couldn't deal with it how did Jesus respond most ministers today if somebody couldn't see a healing manifest they would say well it's okay there's no problem with you you know either this doesn't happen today these things passed away with the Apostles or God on the hill sometimes you know he must be trying to teach you something this must be his will he's blessed you with this sickness this is your cross to bear or this is punishment for your sin or something like that but they would not sit there and even expect the person to be you and I had a pastor here in Colorado Springs who was going to do a series on healing and he knew that I believe strongly in healing so he took me out to eat with some of his staff and we were eating in and it was all you know friendly it's not like he was angry at me or something but he just got to asking me things and I got to telling him it's God's will to heal everybody and he said oh I would never say that and so anyway the discussion went on and he says that would make people feel like something's wrong with that I would never tell a person that it's because of their lack of faith that they don't get healed and I said well I would I said that's not the only reason and I'm gonna talk about this I think it's too simplistic to say it's just because you didn't believe there are some people who have believed with everything that they had and yet they didn't see the things manifest and I'm going to explain that and deal with it from this very passage of Scripture but to say that your faith has nothing to do with it I would never tell a person is because you don't have enough faith that's just wrong that's not what Jesus said and did you know that that exact pastor I went to his church the next Sunday when he started his sermon on healing he read from this exact passage of Scripture in Matthew chapter 17 and when the disciples could not cast the demons out of this boy jesus said you faithless and perverse generation how long shall I be with you how long shall I suffer you bring him hither to me this pastor read this passage of Scripture and then in the next breath God of them says your faith has nothing to do with healing yet Jesus said you're faithless and your perverse he was not pleased that's not the only reason that people don't get healed but it is certainly one big reason if you aren't believing for healing if you have accepted some of these lies that God put this sickness on you that God only heals sometimes and sometimes he wants you to be sick that this could be God's punishment upon you if you're believing any of these things I guarantee you that's the reason that you aren't healed it's not the only reason I'm gonna deal with this in more detail but you've got to accept that if you aren't believing God for healing it's not going to come on you I've had people before come at me and say well I just don't believe this stuff that you're saying and they get mad at me and so I just don't believe this and I've often responded by well then don't worry it's not gonna happen to you if you don't believe for it it's not gonna happen accidentally you aren't gonna get healed by mistake did you know in our fallen world things don't go from sickness to wealth they go from I mean sickness to health they go from health to sickness things don't go from disorder to order they go from order to disorder you can't catch healing but you can catch a sickness and it's not gonna come upon you healings not gonna come upon you accidentally if you don't pursue it you won't get it and so you need to recognize that Jesus wasn't pleased with his disciples inability to meet the needs of people Jesus isn't pleased today with the way that the majority of the Christian churches do not believe in healing and if somebody came and brought their sick to them the pastor would be offended huh why are you bringing them to me I go to the doctor go to the bank or go to the lawyer go to the psychiatrist I'm telling you that's wrong and that's one reason that our society doesn't appreciate the church is because the church is basically just reduced what they are preaching down to let's get prepared for eternity what's going to happen when you die are you gonna go to heaven or hell and even though that is a great truth and that is super important the average person doesn't see the importance of eternity they're trying to deal with today they're trying to make it through this week they're trying to survive this marriage they're trying to get through this physical problem and the church is not preaching things relative to people's everyday life it's been reduced down to just eternity and I am NOT denying that the gospel affects eternity and people should be thinking about that if that's all there was to it I would preach that but healing is a part of what God is doing today I think it was Kenneth Hagin that said that God Jesus used healing like a dinner bell that droopy to the supper-table so that he could preach the word to him we need to be flowing in this and Jesus is not pleased with our inability to minister people he told us go heal the sick cleanse the lepers raise the dead he told him you go heal the sick it's wrong to just beg God tell God would you please heal this person Jesus gave you that healing power you need to use it and I know that I have in a sense pulled the rug out from under a lot of people today and they've taken away a lot of your attitudes and your approaches towards life how you cope with things and this may be unsettling and you say well man where do I go if this is true and if I'm supposed to be walking in this power and if I've got somebody in my life either yourself or some family member and they're dying and I've just been passively asking God how do I where do I go from here well I wished I could tell you everything I know in 30 minutes but I can this is the reason that we have all of this material and I want to say again that I've got so much material this I don't even know how many hours this is but this is multiple hours of healing testimonies we probably have 15 or 20 of my teachings on here this could be 50
