this reviewed righteousness of 117-19 is the declaration of god's wrath you see that from 116-325 so if god is going to be righteous in a world that's supposed to be obedient to him to be trusting him where the word is not far from you then he's going to be judging us because we have failed to be obedient just all with isaiah we're called to trust him we don't require to believe in him we don't we're called to call him we don't because we circumcise our heart we don't so a revealing of god's righteousness involves naturally when you look at 117-19 in all the 4 4 4 4 4 so that 17 says for god it's righteous is revealed but the moment you get the 18 you see that the wrath of god is revealed so again that's led by a four and what that involves what this righteousness revealed then involves is the declaration of god's wrath which is actually the focus of 116 to 325. it's the declaration of god's judgment because he is angry with us for our disobedience our failure to trust him and give him honor so the one who is saved then is the one who calls on the name of the lord so this salvation and judgment are two sides of the same coin this calling on the lord and this recognition that we are well this reality that we are judged and we are sinners are two sides of the same coin you're not going to call on lord if you don't need to be saved you're not going to call the lord if you don't think you need to be saved you're not going to call lord if you're not cut to the heart so faith doesn't exist without repentance repentance doesn't exist without faith the two are two sides the same coin you don't have repentance and then have faith you don't have faith and then you repent in order to stay safe your repentance is part of your faith and your faith is part of your repentance thus the those who do not seek god if you look at 10 20 that's where we saw that and also 3 verse 11 they're the total opposite of those who call on the name of the lord these are the disobedient of isaiah 65 these are the contrary and so that's why the end of romans 10 ends on this that isaiah is so bold to say i have been found by those who did not seek me i've shown myself to those who did not ask for me but of israel it says all day long i've held my out my hands to a disobedient contrary people so the context of this call to be righteous by living by faith so all the writers shall live by faith or be saved by this faith is the context of judgment that's the big theme of the whole book based on the careful argument in 116 to 325 and in fact that's what we need to see for an appreciation of how this righteousness is revealed because the first thing that is revealed in this gospel let's review is god's wrath is revealed from heaven so if righteousness is revealed this wonderful salvation where jesus comes and you don't have to say where is he always he cannot find him if that righteousness is revealed so don't say you can't find him then judgment is revealed also the moment you see the cross you see judgment the more you see resurrection is judgment none of the gospels ever show you people going like oh my god high five jesus could see you none of them ever do that when jesus appears after the resurrection it's always like always we shall know now because if you look at angels really jesus of course our christianity today is completely reversed our christians assume faith is really a message of god has revealed righteousness and that righteousness is a revealing of wrath and judgment we should eventually be able to see this from the details of the letter that when man has no recourse in himself no help in himself for righteousness when righteousness is really all of god then righteousness is most certainly revealed if righteousness is yourself inherent in it's the context of their sin so paul is both warning them as well as revealing the reality of this righteousness which is by faith the sun shall be turned to darkness y'all two says right and the
