welcome to a very special episode of Robi Tech where we're going to do something a little bit different I think this is something I'm actually pretty excited about we're going to try it uh today we are actually going to do a live monitor guide and the best thing about it is we might actually be giving well we're definitely giving away one of these monitors if you guys make it epic we'll give away two of these monitors and who knows what else so up for grabs today for sure is a basically the Samsung G4 which we're going to walk through at the very beginning of this we could give away the G7 all we got to do is hit level 13 on hype train and then if we get to level 12 we'll give away a 460 as well so essentially the more epic you make the stream the better the giveaways it'll happen but no matter what we'll be giving away the Samsung G4 today on the stream just for you guys hanging out so it's nice it's super cool to have Best Buy and Samsung sponsoring today's stream today we're going to teach you about monitors we're going to go through all the stuff luckily I have some uh some cool people chilling with us on the stream as well we got our usual we got kiltman and or but we also got Pastor Dame uh who is uh one of our Tech writers here at robit Tech and so uh when we're going through this stuff if you have questions and things like that we'll definitely walk through it but the thing is we really want to kind to help you buy and find the monitor that's right for you and we're going to give you some insight into the different Technologies and then we're going to show you these three monitors how they work unbox them show you end to end uh how they are it'll take two 2 and 1 half hours at the very end we'll give away one maybe two and then even a 4060 if you guys make it awesome so should be a fun stream really excited to have you guys here and having you joining us also don't forget today is the last day to get your sub in for the Spider-Man special edition PC we did from Blue Horse we'll show that a little bit later on the stream it's behind all these giant boxes um and all that sort of stuff but today we're going to be showing the Samsung Odyssey G4 27in 1080p monitor we're going to be showing off the Samsung Odyssey G7 that's a 4K 32 in or is it 28 in sorry 28 in Monitor and we're going to be showing off the 49in Samsung G9 OLED monitor with ultrawide we got some great games for it all that sort of stuff so we're going to be walking you through showing you how those games how they perform talking about it as best we can showing it on stream the connections how to put it together all that sort of stuff so you should get a really really good rundown of these three monitors and then of course you can always ask questions about the monitors as well um and all that sort of stuff but that's what's on the boxes we have all three of the monitors right here on the box uh so you guys will get it from end in from open box all the way to setup to showing it live on screen so should be cool yeah 49 in right here the Samsung Odyssey g94 so let me get these out of the way and then we'll start with the first one and I'm going I'm going to start doing with like a little bit of a rundown of monitors and monitor tech but I wanted you guys to show to see that these are brand new they're coming right out of it so there's no Shenanigans you guys are walking away potentially with two monitors giv away today and a 4060 whoop depending on uh what you guys are able to do so there we go okay so it's good to see you guys I am your host monitors we're going to be showing away today uh we're going to be checking it out this isn't a good this is kind of a good better best but you you know it's a better way to think of it because of how good better best works it's more like 1080P 1440p ultrawide and of course 4K and each of these monitors is great for their targeted resolution and we're going to talk a little bit about Ultra wide and Ultra wide support what's good for 1080p the hardware that's kind of good for it and all that sort of stuff but I wanted to start off with some Basics here um when you're shopping for monitors and just kind of the way that you think about them as soon as I find my my uh my screen here and the first one that I want to talk about is obviously resolution so a lot of people talk about resolution and some people aren't entirely sure what that necessarily means when you're talking about resolution so there's a couple key like three-letter acronyms that show up there's what's called fhd or full high definition there's QHD which is quad high definition and then there's what's called UHD which is ultra high definition and fhd are your 1080p monitors those are 1920 x 1080 um and they're usually kind of more on the low end though I think Pastor Jamie could agree with this hey dog DSC thank you for the 10 gifted Subs I think Dame and you guys could agree there can be really expensive 1080p monitors because you also have refresh rate which we'll talk about a little bit later Absol absolutely and those are fantastic monitors for Esports too because of the high refresh rate there's this thing about Esports and 1080p which is unfortunate because a lot of times you have Esports players like dude I want to play at 1080P and I want to play at 360 which unfortunately then they'll have things like 490s which do do some work I said do do uh do some work uh in terms of processing Graphics but at the same time you're not really stretching the legs of your graphics card at 1080p it's actually more CPU bound and that's where things like 14 900s and 13 900s and 7800 X 3DS and stuff like that become more powerful because that's the resolution that really is CPU dependent the second one QHD or Quad HD or quad high definition is 2560 by 1440 or you he a lot of us say 1440p and interesting this interestingly enough this resolution is actually called 2K um which is kind of interesting guys hype train is started so I'm going to stop it right now because remember hype train once it goes if we get to level 12 we're giving away two monitors okay if we get to level 12 we're giveway yes it is okay we got 3 minutes and 20 seconds left guys okay so I wanted to while while this is going we have three minutes left I still want to finish sh so the next one that we're going to talk about is what's called UHD and UHD is 3840 by 2160 and then you'll see this is like 2160p but most people call it 4K and 4K is kind of your highest tier in terms of your overall monitor it's the most difficult to push and it usually cost it usually requires the most technology and money to basically get consistent frames in that at that uh at that uh at that resolution and now you're finally seeing 4K 240 and there's even some 4K 360s uh on the way which is absolutely Bonkers now the weird thing about high definition and high refresh rate monitors at that speed is that usually that requires things like dlss and AI assist to basically help those things because a lot of times puring bushing that stuff is pure raw from a 480 a 40 a 4090 a 7900 XT or 7900 XTX is relative hard unless you're playing games like CS go or Rainbow 6 or even like maybe Apex Legends or fortnite which a lot of people don't play those games at those resolutions which is kind of weird so we're in this like weird dichotomy when it comes to 4K right now so that's uh that's UHD now the next thing I want to talk about when you think look at a monitor is this thing called refresh rate hey elit thank you very much Guys 1 minute and 54 seconds left to get us to level eight and then we'll get more and refresh rate is basically I'm trying to think of the best way to think about this it's like basically hey animal freak anime freak not animal freak sorry anime freak thank you very much refresh rate is a value that tells you like how many times the monitors pictures cycle per second much like how he looks at frames per second uh as being the number of images being produced by TV or Sorry by PC the refresh rate tells you the capacity of the monitor to reproduce those frames on the screen so the value you often see Associated as Herz or Hertz um which is not to be confused us with the rental company those are two different things right Daman is that true I I can confirm that I tried I tried to see if the truck would push my frame rate any higher um and it didn't do anything for me yeah so in the case of refresh rate higher is typically better than lower however when the output of FPS and refresh rate don't match that's what we' SE in screen Terry but there's the thing called adaptive sync Technologies which is things called free sync and Nvidia has a thing called gsync and there are uh there are a lot of similarities between the two but let's top talk about a little bit what adaptive sync is another name that you might basically see it is called variable refresh rate with adaptive sync your GP and monitor are working together to match performance between the frames produced by your game and then the frame output of the screen ensuring that screen tearing or video artifacting doesn't necessarily ruin the experience okay guys 30 seconds we just need somebody to do something or we're going to be done and then we'll have to maybe changee it so MK dropping it 18 seconds can't wait too long if we want to get it in there remember we're trying to unlock more giveaways and I know this is hard 10 I know we have not the normal number of people maybe we'll be able to do it a little bit later six oh and there's the hype train but anyway guys thank you for all that stuff don't worry we'll try and find another way to unlock maybe the the monitor giveaway maybe I'll just do it as a goal let's see where are we at on this on the goals we're at 55 okay so this is what it probably would have [Music] been okay next goal is up so if we hit that then we'll give away another another monitor okay anyway guys is this helpful we're trying to give you guys the whole full 411 on when you basically buy a monitor so there we go we're trying to give you all that information so hopefully this is giving you guys uh good information from there a good with a 40 TI super and I need a good screen for it okay good okay so anyway when you so you have this thing and it used to be called refresh rate it was basically measured in hertz and then now they came up with these new technology is called variable refresh it or what's called adaptive sync and really what that does is it allows the GPU and basically the the screen to work together to keep you from getting image tearing and things like artifacting and so these come in two forms one is called AMD freesync and the other one is called Nvidia gsync and one of the things that kind of existed before is variable refresh rate was limited to the team at Nvidia and you're seeing me talk about this a little bit when I talk about my GPU reviews but AMD actually made it open source and available for everybody uh and so now you don't have to buy gsync to be able to do variable refresh rate stuff like that now which is actually interesting so no we did not unlock the second monitor but we have another chance and you can see that up on the screen um so and so there are there are different tiers and this is the part that's super confusing there are different tiers of freesync and there are different tiers of g-sync when you think about monitors okay you guys following okay but don't worry we are giving away one monitor no matter what guys we're still giving away the G4 G4 is being given away no matter what but if we want to unlock the second one we got to keep going for NVIDIA monitors for NVIDIA ones there's g-sync gsync or sorry g-sync compatible g-sync and then what's called g-sync ultimate and then for free sync there's free sync free sync premium or free sync premium Pro and a lot of times you don't actually hear all that much about the pro level for g-sync and the pro level for freesync they're kind of at the higher end monitors and it's one of the things when we talk talk about things like the new technology from Nvidia which I think is it quk Damian what's the new one sorry I just my mind just went blank I I believe it's called Quantum Quantum is it uh let let's confirm confirm let's confirm that so we're going to confirm that like this new technology is coming out which actually pretty much eliminates motion blur it's Pulsar Pulsar thank you called Pulsar which is a brand new technology coming out within Cahoots with free uh GYN is a thing called pulsur which eliminates things like motion blur so in other words especially for firsters shooter Gamers this is going to be a huge thing and we're hoping that AMD is able to reverse engineer and make it open source so it's not exclusive to Nvidia and gsync because this is going to be a competitive thing for FPS players that they actually can't uh care about so talking about the different compatibilities real quick guys and then we'll start showing you monitors we have g-sync compatible which means that the monitor has been validated for artifact free performance and these monitors typically also are free sync compatible as well so usually if you see g-sync compatible that means that it has been validated as a Jin SE capable monitor uh but it's not officially g-sync licensed um and sometimes you won't even see the badge on it stepping up is what you have what are called g-sync These are actually like the real g-sync monitors these actually have uh the g-sync uh badge on them and they usually this offers also extended color support and HDR along with keeping frame smooth so it's like taking it and like giving it a little bit of extra strength and then g-sync ultimate which is like their top tier U these monitors are rated at 144 Hertz or better they're calibrated for a wider color gamut which we'll talk about here in a minute they have ultra low latency which means they're really made for super competitive FPS titles and g-sync ultimate M gsync ultimate monitors also have a minimum of 100 nits of brightness which is why you don't see a lot of until recently OLED uh gsync g-sync ultimate monitors so in order to use a g-sync monitor this is something that's super important is that if you were to win this g-sync which is fine it still works with freesync but in order to use a g-sync monitor you do have to have an Nvidia GPU you can have an Nvidia GPU and work with free sync and you can have an AMD GPU and work with free sync but in order to use gsync gsync ultimate and all of the stuff that comes with it you do have to have Nvidia making sense am I am I am I giving you guys good information hopefully yes I can I wish I could turn off the blur that in my eyes absence of logic all of us do hopefully guys just giving you the info so when we talk about these monitors it actually makes sense about the tech too um and then whenever you see free sync uh has a lot of the similar features as g-sync okay um G but they usually have a lower price tag since AMD obviously has an open source uh thing so a lot of people say AMD is just really good at Value you see a lot of that stuff with FSR um with fluid motion frames and then even with free fre sync which means anybody can use it Intel Arc Nvidia gpus and AMD gpus can all use free sync now whenever you see free sync premium free sync premium Pro certifications on a monitor means that it supports terar fre fluid experiences with variable refresh rate as well as low latency and low frame rate compression both free premium and free sync premium Pro monitors certify that the monitors have a refresh rate of 200 HZ or higher for displays under 4K and 120 HZ for 4K and above so if you see a free sync premium 4k monitor that means it's 4 K and 120 hzz and by the way gsync and freesync are not just limited to monitors they can also be on television so for instance the latest LG OLED monitor LG OLED televisions are g-sync monitors Etc and they actually have g-sync uh they actually have the g-sync badge intensive writing noises and stuff like that okay the two differences just real quick between free sync premium and freesync premium Pro is that uh AMD freesync HDR which reduces input L latency and can be used with a standard HDR signal and the other thing is is free freesync premium Pro have a brightness of greater than HDR 400 remember 400 is 400 nits remember gsync Pro is 1,000 nits so it's quite a bit it's not as high-end necessarily as gsync premium Pro so it's just yeah that's the only thing we going to go in there okay so the last thing I want to kind of cover go ahead I it just given some definitions yeah yeah are those the G 3 what do you mean yeah okay next up and the last thing we'll kind of cover before we start talking about the monitors themselves is color gamut and this is more this is actually more for people who care about um using these things for things like uh video editing color correction picture editing all those sort of stuff so particularly for a some professional specifically and so usually you see listed as a percentage value along something like srgb uh DCI dp3 and Adobe RBG RGB I so anyway each of these def uh definitions represent a spectrum of color that the monitor is able to reproduce typically srgb and DCI - P3 are the ones that you see the most so just as an FYI last thing I want to just talk about real quick and then we'll get away from it is response time so this is the final piece here basically response time can be it can be B now crazy or it can be super small you'll see it done like 003 .1 Etc so this basically value represents the amount of time it takes for monitor to switch from one color to the next in this case the lower the response time the better sometimes it's called gray to gray Etc so fir uh final piece is that um uh so anyways that's just what that is and then there's different panel types which I don't know if you guys want to hear real quick but we have have what are called IPS uh TN and uh VA and then of course you have OLED as well um TN is Twisted pneumatic screens they have a fast response time but usually they're kind of the they're like gray kind of burnt out uh they're they're washed out you used to see these a lot with esport monitors IPS or inplane switching uh have vibrant colors they're usually used for Content creators photographers and then IPS panels typically have a slower response time than TN panels and then finally you have vertical alignment or VA panels which are kind of in the middle between uh TN and IPS so that is a gamut of the screens the last one is obviously uh OLED which is uh their light organic light emitting diode um and the thing about OLED is it's completely different technology because it's per pixel technology and it usually has the deepest colors and it has Crazy Fast Response times but it used to not be very bright but that has now been fixed so how did I D is anything I missed it's like drinking from a fire hydrant man there's so trying to give you so much information guys but I wanted to make it easy so hopefully that did and yeah of course we can collect questions from chat if you guys want to talk about it so display port is usually the best so display port especially display port 2.1 is the amount of information that you can pull so for g-sync and freesync display port is definitely the better of the two connections the one thing that's nice about HDMI is HDMI is just like the most compatible but usually for a lot of high refresh rate monitors and you guys will be seeing us use display port almost exclusively with the monitors we're using today yeah they now have olets with yeah OLED has now you know it used to be everybody thought we were going to go to mini LED and then something happened I don't know if there was just some special magic they got visited by the OLED fairy but now we have crazy bright oleds and we got to see some of them if you got to watch the um the live stream from Asus where we showed some ridiculously bright, 135 00 knit oleds um that are coming out um which is which is actually going to be pretty awesome uh Roby Tech which could I oh we already asked about that one um yeah so it's it's impressive and now we're going to kind of show you a a gamut of different ones so that way you guys can get an idea of what some of these would look like so we're going to start off with our first unboxing you guys ready this is the monitor we're giving away today this is the Samsung Odyssey G7 so I will bring it up right here so you guys can see it sorry the Sansung Odyssey G4 so let me bring it up here so you guys can see the screen so this is the one we're giving away today so this is a full HD 1080p monitor with a 240 HZ refresh rate as well as both AMD free sync premium and it has Nvidia g-sync capabilities uh compatibility sorry uh it makes it ideal for esport titles or competitive Shooters running at obviously 1080p so if you have like a 4060 a 3060 a 30 3050 even a 4070 there's a lot of people who run 407s and stuff like that 40 uh 307s 7600 you know like 2060s this is a great monitor for you especially if you have a higher tier GPU uh speaking of color accuracy the G4 if you wanted to use this for color creation and stuff like that or content creation says 99% coverage of the srgb color gamut which is standard range for gaming and video editing uh the G4 has a max brightness of four nits which is a decent entry point and it does have HDR and the retail price is $349.99 if you want to talk about who this monitor is for it's great for competitive Gamers looking for for 1080P and then again we talked about that 76 7600 XT 4060 4060 TI a770 uh 30 60s 40 uh sorry uh 6600s uh 6700s these are all great things and then even people who want to do super competitive cuz again the refresh rate on this is 240 HZ so even if you you had like a 480 or whatever it was this would be a good monitor so uh are both of these monitors firmware upgradable yes you can upgrade the the firmware on Samsung monitors so this is the monitor the first one and this is the one that we're actually going to be giving away today guys so this is going to be our giveaway monitor so huge shout out again to Best Buy and Samsung for hooking it up and uh getting this in so we'll start with the unboxing so and then yeah if you have questions Daman we'll be looking at those and be answering those and then of course we also our TCH too who might be answering questions at the same time this is 1080p yes and you said it was HDR I'm assuming it's a HDR 1010 plus it's HDR 400 yeah it's HDR 400 yeah it's HDR 400 this monitor was uh this monitor was we got new and then we had it inspected by Best Buy it was not bought um open box no so because this is sponsored by Best Buy um they were doing a uh they were doing some stuff with the G4 so so everything's here okay so here is our Monitor and you guys will see how to put it together and all that sort of stuff too so here it is it's a nice size monitor that's one thing I like it's 27 in it's also light look at that there you go it's nice and light and of course all of these will be open because you guys are going to they're going to be opened and used on the stream here here's a point of conversation which was something that um has always been a curiosity for me when it comes to resolution and and monitor size is there a rule of thumb for which which size of monitor you should have for or which would would give the best experience for 1080P 1440p and 4K so 1080p so my experience and that's I think it's actually a really good question and Zeon or kilman if you want to jump in on this I will tell you that usually going greater than 27 in on a 1080p monitor I start to see pixelization so I think 27 and below is usually ideal for for 1080p um I know there are some people who like 32 um but uh I like I am definitely a 27 in 1080p uh I've gone up to 40 plus so 43 in on four uh 1440p and it looks okay especially on OLED but you can see the individual pixels um I think uh uh or was basically saying 27 in to 2K 32 to Ines so I I don't I actually don't agree with a 2K cuz I've seen 2K uh 32 and and higher and I don't have as much of a problem especially playing as close as I do the FV 43u which is a 1440p OLED 14 1440p monitor is actually fine um 27 is definitely too small for 4K for f for 4K um you definitely need to be getting a bigger monitor because you're not even at that point in time taking advantage of the resolution so yeah it is really funny though the number of 28 in 4k monitors that are on on the mar Market yeah and I mean it one of those things is that one of the things and the reason it works is because you still at 28 in it's great for Content creation because a lot of people will play games at 4K and want to content create at 4K and 28 inches for 4K content creation is actually fine because you still see it at the right resolution and all that sort of stuff and you still get the super sampling so it's a productivity monitor uh it has productivity tasks but it's not an ideal gaming size monitor even though we are going to show off a 28 4k monitor I mean the good thing about it being variable refresh rate is you can play and variable you know it's not ideal but you'll see 1440p actually looks pretty good on it as well as does uh as does 4K so but I will say the Samsung monitors especially the the G-Class of monitors one that we're showing off here today A lot of them they're they're more gaming focused and the other thing too that the 28 in work really well for is you think about it as monitors is that these things will also work really well with consoles so where the 28 in looks really good is actually with things like PlayStation 5es and with Xbox series X's um because they're they use a variable refresh rate uh variable yeah variable resolution that it has a tendency to look sharper on those monitors than you would do on a 1440p so that's the one thing I like about uh monitors like the G8 is that it actually sorry the G7 is it works really well not just for your PC but also really well for your console there's a question about if there are any cons to playing 1440p on a 4k monitor no does it it's just not you might see some fuzziness and we'll be able to show some of that when we do it today so we'll show you some 1440p if I ever I'm trying very nicely to use the to take this apart so when the person gets it at home it doesn't look like somebody just tore through it and ruined it I 34in 1440p is fine um and then you'll also I for Ultra wides I like uh 2560 x 14 or sorry 30 what is the resolution that we the one that the the one that we're doing on the G9 I love that dual 1440 5120 yeah 5120 is my favorite for it CU then you get you get dual 1440p which means a lot more graphics cards can push it OLED is great for Content creation Speed Racer OLED is just not good for productivity a lot of times it's actually being fixed but specifically text is harder to read so if you're going to do things if you're spending a lot of time reading emails and stuff on an OLED that's not that's nowhere near as much fun um but for Content creation most of my editors use OLED monitors and um ultrawide OLED monitors are fantastic for Content creation yeah so best size for 1080p is 27 in and honestly that's why most esport orgs when you go and watch esport gaming or esport competitions use 27in uh 27 in uh 1080p monitors but IC sniper right anywhere between 24 and 27 but 27 is considered the ideal size 32 is actually 1440p so when you talk about the most popular 1440p monitors are usually anywhere between 27 and 32 in and then for 4K 32 in and above um but I like 43 in 1440p yes it does the 28 in G7 does 120 HZ console gaming yes yes because the the the G the G8 which we're going to show out here in a minute I mean it's a it's guys remember it's variable refresh rate so this will do 144 Herz at 4K which means it'll do 120 Herz at 4K that's the beauty of the whole variable part that's the whole yeah that's the whole beauty of variable refresh rate okay so just in terms of just taking out the tech we've got I'm just taking out all the pieces so you guys can see it when we put it together so what we've taken out right now is we've taken out the um we've taken out the stands and all that stuff and then we'll rewrap this up and then of course we'll ship it to the winner so it's all in pieces so you get the joy of the unboxing and then it also comes with and you can see right here and people are saying is this open box obviously not because look all of the cables are still in here youve got it comes with a display port cable an HDMI cable and it also comes with uh the power cable which unfortunately I'm going to have to open this I'm sorry um but you know for us to demo it and show it off um there's only so much I can do so we do the best we can so you still get that fun unboxing experience um your service or USB out you have a display port single display port two HDMI and then you have a headphone jack here and then you also have your power that's all there is to it just giving you guys a closer look at the design you can see that there's ventilation here and then for the most part you actually can run things through this hole see if I can make it easier for you to see it hey Rob through this hole what can you confirm that there are mounting holes on the monitor itself so that it can be mounted on an arm yes it it is vasic that's it's right here actually you can here I'll show you sweet so you can actually see where the vase amounts are the way the plate is on it but their vase of stuff is underneath so if I was to Fantastic uh yeah me doing that other I can show you I'll show you that on the other one we take it apart but yeah that's that's how it is that's the monitoring of itself it also has a Kensington lock so if you were worried about your brother or your sister or your spouse taking your monitor you can actually lock it to your uh you can lock it to your uh your desk there okay so that is the monitor itself so there's the size in terms of when you look at the size of it pretty nice size we do have full rotation left and right okay and you can move it up and down so if you wanted to use this as like a reading monitor like for twitch chat or whatever it was it works really well for that and again you've got full there and then tilt you got quite a range in terms of tilt not a lot of down range but that's what you get for standard range Power is one of these little funky adapter power things with a so I I'm not I'm not the largest fan of these but they're fine I like them better when they're just like a standard power thing but yeah so it's so it's an outboard power brick rather than having it within the monitor so then we'll pop this on here and this is the moment of truth did Roby drop this and then break it for all eternity luckily I have total Tech okay so we're we're going to use display port I think Chad is suggesting that if if you drop something that you need to call the Geek swad in well I want to get it fixed though shots fired okay here we go guys plugging it in now the system that we're using to power this is our Falcon Northwest system it's a 14900 with a 4080 and then power is right here on the bottom there we go let me just got to find the there we go product registration we'll do that later I'll say remind me so that way the person does okay so here is our monitor in terms of how it looks so giving you guys a I'm going to try and make sure that you get a close kind of eye on it right so you guys can see how gaming and stuff looks on it it's a wonderful Tiki wallpaper there yes see cuz we're using a tiki right so got to show that off now for gaming and everything we're going to be doing today guys a huge shout out obviously uh to the team at scuff so we have a link down to this below but for just because we're showing this off we are using our Scuf Controller it's so pretty yeah so here's our scuff controller the scuffed en Vision so that's what we're going to be using today so you guys are going to see me using that and showing that off a lot today cuz I really really like the scuff one okay so what we're going to do here going to go here we're going to go to display settings and we'll show you some of the setup here okay so we have three monitors plugged in here here is our second monitor when you look at your resolutions you can see it's 1920 x 1080 if we go to Advanced and you can see that we actually have support for HDR the banding and stuff you're seeing is just because he's shooting yeah video of another screen yeah it's you guys that's that's that's yeah there's not there's only so much that I can essentially do that's the one thing that is tough about showing uh showing screens and then we'll go to Advanced and you can see we can do 230 39 120 119 60 and 59 now remember you can set any one of these right not a big deal right now we have it set at 200 or 240 Herz but with variable refresh rate a g-sync depending on the game it will get within it's totally fine it'll it'll sync between that and the game itself to make sure that you're not getting uh tearing so if you are somebody who is doesn't have can't quite push 240 frames which we absolutely can using this system then you might want to drop down to 120 HZ but you don't have to stick with 240 but we're going to use 240 in this case cuz we know we have a game that basically can push it so let's do one other thing I need to do hey real quick while you're getting that set up uh there's a uh a call out here from uh Anders 8 that right now the uh the scuff and Vision Pro is on sale for 9% off so actually reading it and then I I think everything else is fine that's the things I needed to show right org oh here what I'm showing is on the and there it is en set up gsync only shows up if it's working yeah and there it says enable gsync g-sync compatibility and then it's showing that which ones I have it on so you can see that both the Samsung Odyssey and I actually have it connected to a Zenon monitor so I can do some stuff when I was over there so right now we can see we're actually using gsync so let's let's take a look at a game so let's uh obviously I think one that always works really well is Call of Duty and then let me open up MSI After Burner have to bring I'm going have to bring my keyboard over here I didn't think I'd have to and then I'm like oh I'll be able to do everything with [Music] my so open up MSI After Burner here just to make sure that we have it oh great well we'll do the best we can oh good it did show up Oh that's oh Pro art RTX 490 we have a 13900 the game right now is pushing 130 frames per second but we wanted to at least show you some gaming and all that sort of stuff using the screen in terms of it is now you can see obviously this is the stuff where you get from your color is that with this particular one you can definitely see that there it's there's some the blacks are crushed they're not they're not as infinite as something like for instance an OLED but again for a $349 monitor that's not surprising the colors like in terms of we're in a very brightly lit room you guys are looking through a uh you guys are looking through a camera you can see that colors and stuff like that actually look pretty good now I will just because let's go to menu so you can see here we've got adaptive syn is on uh low is on and then we can actually already see a that stuff here but you can see here we go to picture we can see there's FPS so it does have some standard stuff right here so if we go to FPS and then you can see brightness we at 100% so you can get it quite a bit brighter if you want to uh and then you can see your contrast so there's a couple kind of built-in stuff already and then you have a contrast enhancer and some other things which I would recommend playing with I'm not usually a big fan of them um but uh and then again somebody asked can you update the thing there's your this is where you can actually um you should be able to update your uh uh your uh firmware so here we're have it in fps mode now hit accept and let me know if you guys see any questions from chat while we're showing stuff off if you're well you're going to see both but yes that's a great question okay so here we go this is you guys seeing vsync and gsync in working here uh with the monitor specifically in fps mode uh and then performance and everything else at the same [Music] time and this is where you'll see variable refresh rate because you know we may not hit 240 on this uh with the 4080 and the and the thing here so we don't you won't see any screen tearing this is showing variable refresh rate at work right so we're only hitting 225 frames you can see there's no screen tearing and honestly this monitor I mean the thing that's so hard about watching it through a screen is this monitor looks really good it's got good colors it's easy to see and your gameplay is immaculate I know this was by the way this is recorded this is my recorded gameplay guys so I just want to I just want to let you know I will definitely say on Ultra wide not having curved actually ends up hurting your neck so so there you guys go 187 frames per second uh you can saw that we didn't hit 240 we were only averaging 222 but when we were showing the monitor itself you can see we were adding we had no problems it was actually not screen tearing you saw the colors it was nice and bright you know it as best as we can taking it from the camera to showing you um how this monitor is essentially going to perform and this feels like probably the ideal game uh the ideal kind of monitor setup now I do I'm not going to just show you one game right we got to show you a different game so let's uh let's let's throw one more in here just for fun so looking at [Music] steam Adventure Island right huh oh my God I love that game do you have I was going to say Do you happen to have Avatar installed cuz that's some of the best col uh I you know what I may actually have it o be soft I don't know if it's updated but I can throw that in there yeah that that's out of everything I play which you know my list is a weird a bit eclectic but everything I play that has some of the best [Music] color eclectic is that uh satisfactory uh lately it's in shrouded yeah I I you can see I actually installed and shrouded because I wanted to see Ultra ride support for it hold on guys I think I do have it in Mirage and some other games on here so it actually should be on here let's see there's a question that has been posed uh why buy this instead of the aces tough gaming 27 curved uh which is $100 cheaper in the same specs so some of that has to do with panel so a lot of times when you start to look and this is where color and uh panel technology comes in usually when you're looking at a less expensive uh a less expensive monitor it means the quality of the panel is lower so this is where budget uh is important and budget does go a long way when you talk about monitors right so monitors are directly reflective to the uh directly reflective with the amount of money that you spend on them kind of like cars right um and so when you're talking about something like this uh you are going to get a nicer panel than you will in the tough and that's usually what you s sacrifice it may not be $100 you know $100 worse but you will notice a difference in the picture quality I'll throw something else in here too uh and and this is one of those like fun fun facts of the industry is there are a a small handful of Manufacturers that actually make the LCD panels that go into monitors and Samsung happens to be one of those and so getting I I can't confirm it for this for this particular monitor but but the idea of having everything kind of made in house and made to work together is kind of an appealing thing too I I'm I'm not I'm actually not going to I'm not going to harp like we use Asus monitors Su Asus monitors are amazing um and again this is just giving this is a more monitor guide this is not these are using these as a guide to show you and you and what I'm doing is I'm hoping we're giving you the education so if you look at that Asus one you're like cool yeah this is this has got all of the things I care about in terms of the compatibility uh free sync gsync all that sort of stuff I I love the refresh rate I love the uh you know I look at the reviews and then you make an informed decision that we're not necessarily saying that this is the best monitor to get just Samsung sponsor well Best Buy sponsored this and gave us Samsung monitors to kind of give you guys this guide so use these as a guide not necessarily as us saying this is religion only by Samsung Asus is a great monitor LG makes great monitors they're all fantastic monitors so what monitor do you m i man a i Corsair Xenon and now I'm going to main the Samsung uh the other one I'm the G9 is going to be mine um and then I also have an Asus monitor as a 43 in 4k so I I use a bunch of them and I used to man a G7 I used to use a Samsung G7 for a long time uh as my main monitor for a long time I love LG panels and I love Samsung panels so they're both they're both good to me so we are going to change one setting here and then guys we'll jump to the next monitor so this one we're going to change our picture mode down to RPG which means now you can see our colors got a lot deeper right some just some fun stuff to play with and of course you got to play with it to figure out what you like I don't know if I've ever I I keep forgetting they don't Cloud save on the on Ubisoft so it may not have my save but at least you'll be able to see some colors and stuff like that so you guys are getting some some visuals and some lighting and some color stuff with this to give you a different idea uh in terms of presets I didn't see one oh there it is yeah Dynamic contrast Cinema there it is right there srgb it does have an srgb preset so is there don't worry icy sniper yeah eigor some people don't like again some people are not like I have multiple setups so the G9 will be specifically for doing um the G9 will be specifically for games like racing flight Sim stuff like that and again some of this stuff that you guys are seeing doesn't come through on the monitor it's just the camera trying to do its best to show you like trying it's trying right but this some of this it's it's not as reflective so getting a chance to walk into a Best Buy store checking these out in person definitely something that if you can see it in person uh makes a big difference I will say it does come out a little bit better in YouTube um because the image quality can be a little bit better um and looking at YouTube reviews as well so okay so here we go so you here we can ah hey look it did Cover so this is basically we're getting 153 frames per second here and you got are seeing just color man this actually looks really good on here too I just like I really am a big fan of the color in Samsung panels and so you guys this is fully loaded Avatar right here no tearing we're at 158 frames per second so we're not getting any tearing whatsoever even though we're well below the 240 HTS that it's set for and that's where gsync and free sync become so important so no artifacting you can see we're not getting anything like that which is really cool and there you go so there is another game just giving you an idea if you were going to play RPGs if you're going to play fpss anything like that you can see that this is totally does a great job what you're seeing that slowdown is actually just the compression on the uh the compression in the Stream because that's not coming across when I'm playing it anyway I do not have Anthem dude that is that is going way [Laughter] back cool right so anyway guys that is the Samsung Odyssey G4 uh again on sale right now 3 uh 3 $349.99 um so if you guys wanted to basically check it out uh there are again looking at this this is showing you guys a great 1080p uh monitor that has 240 HZ it's free it's g-sync compatible and of course you also have free sync premium on there uh you also have 27 in uh srgb is 99% so for Content creation uh and on sale right now $349.99 uh and then you can see from the quality of the panel and all that sort of stuff um you actually have quite a bit of um of flexibility there and again for 1080p you could push this like what we're doing right now where we're pushing it with a you know a 4080 and a 13900 but again if you have something like a 4060 a 3060 a 3050 um you know anything on the lower end this is a great uh mid-range I'd say mid-range monitor this isn't really an entry level monitor entry level I'd say is the1 to $250 range and what you're getting at that is also just quality of panel um which can be important to you completely up to you so great Monitor and uh yeah wanted to show that off so let's go ahead and put this one away and then we'll unbox box our 4K G7 which is the next one hopefully will let you guys uh you guys will earn uh giving that well us giving that away but we'll have to see as we get further along so I'm going to shut this off and get this kind of out of the way and then I'll show you the vase amounts as I take this quickly apart and get it ready for p packing up and stuff like that and we didn't take the plastic off because I wanted you to have like enjoy the experience of you know opening it yourself too but uh somebody had asked they wanted to see the vase amounts so here we go to the top down real quick just showing you how easy it is is it is to even take it apart there is the vase amounts right there so you actually you can just do your vase amount most arms you just slide it right in and click it down it's very very straightforward to install so pretty pretty easy process right there so as we're switching over what's your question I just said very nice yeah as we're switching over are there any questions about 1080p anything else that we can bring up with you guys or that is going to help you guys in terms of making a decision or anything like that we'd love to answer those questions now as we prep for the next uh the next monitor I have an RTX 580 would it work an RTX 580 is a 1080 that is definitely 1080p so this would be a good monitor for an RTX 580 uh a little bit pricey uh given the hardware but yes this monitor if you were to win this monitor this would be great for your Hardware I don't know if anybody disagrees with me I always give them the room unless you just really want us to be contrarian yeah best way to clean a monitor screen is for me uh is uh I like to use uh either monitor wipes or I actually like to use light uh water and a microfiber cloth also works very very well microfiber cloths are usually my favorite way to do it and as much as we preach isopropyl alcohol for everything do not use it on your monitor no what did you say that as much as we preach isopropyl alcohol for everything do not use it on your monitor yeah do not use it on your water yeah your monitor is you're either going to use monitor wipes or you're going to use uh you're going to use uh um M microfiber microfiber yeah nothing more than that so I would I would also add a fantastic Electronics cleaner it's like a little aerosol can and uh that plus a microfiber cloth uh does some some good good work there you go Windex which Windex is a glass cleaner so it's it's C Johnson a family company not sponsored yeah not sponsored for sure what about cleaners used on glasses nuclear Cowboy asks yeah those are fine I've used those before again usually the one thing that's really nice about those is those actually have some stuff to keep from streaking which also works well on a monitor and remember the other thing that's actually really good about these particular monitors is these are great monitors for people who also want to have like for instance who want to have a setup that might be a PC Plus also support for a console so they actually work really well for that as [Music] well yeah I just I want to verbally say this because it was asked in the chat um no do not use Windex in General on your monitor uh this is a special Electronics cleaner version from window deck so no streaks no residue and no ammonia yeah no sorry he was talking about a special I thought you were talking about a special monitor version or Electronics cleaner of okay just clarifying that yeah they have Windex electronic wipes they're they're good they're good stuff then again you don't have to go out and buy some special wipes guys you can just literally Buy buy you can't literally just buy um yeah and and as we're talking about wipes don't use like dude wipes on your monitor like do not recommend dude WIP wow I I I take it you've tried this hey look there's no evidence to prove that there's no evidence to prove it wasn't that's all I'm gonna say he did it I can't believe we're talking about dude wipes I just I just spit on mine and use my shirt to wipe it off I know some people would do that too it has a tendency to be streaky I've had to do that in emergency situations I don't recommend spit but I mean you know what honestly to each your own it's your monitor if you want to use poop then you can do that don't recommend that either but if you want to you can it's your monitor I mean we might judge you but no there's no might okay I still judge you actual judgment will ensue you guys I just want you to see carefully and the main reason you might be asking is Roby why are you doing this right now because I want it to be packed correctly for whoever opens it you will see me care a lot you know if we end up giving away the other monitor I will also pack it up nicely so when you get this you're like oh look it's packed like it's new um you know so I'm trying to show you that it's not just I don't just do this and think oh you know hey I'll you know the person will win this and they don't care but I I think you do care you want to you want to enjoy your unboxing process so took the time to unbox it correctly and Rebox it correctly what a guy I pressure wash mine sandpaper all things that you can do just we won't recommend them but if you want you know what that reminds me of your old AMD beard comb oh it's right over here yeah yeah dude I love that thing still use it from time to time no better use of a 59 50x I mean actually somebody's like there's a lot of better uses not with that 5950 X yeah went to LGA and now we can't do it anymore I just look like I'm rubbing stuff on my skin for no reason exfoliation there you go I mean you got to keep your skincare routine up you are traveling a lot now I am that's true you you're right I should all any recommendations on a monitor arm for a 27in monitor there's actually a ton um I mean honestly I don't overthink it I have a tendency to just look at reviews um I think a lot of people start to like get like concern that they're going to buy something that's bad honestly reviews on Amazon Best Buy any of those places are going to be completely fine to help you find one that you like the thing is is that monitor arms are a lot of it is personal preference because you got to you got to get a a monitor arm that kind of moves the way that you want it to and uh so like if you're going to do something with a with a Ultra wide or you're going to do something where you might want to do a um you might want to do like a a chat Monitor and stuff like that those require different arms so yeah so there's a lot of good options out there I just I recommend that's I mean that's one of the things I really enjoy about most sites even like Best Buy or whatever it was is that they have really good reviews so you know if you really want to find something the reviews end up going really well and I love it when they say stuff like verified purchaser versus somebody who's like just paid to uh to go and buff it up which has also been helpful to determine when something is legit and when something is you know somebody just paying for reviews which used to be a thing back in the day something else I'd throw out there as far as like a like a desktop mounted monitor arm is also consider like um yeah exactly you could do that it's a decision I mean just like using sandpaper on your monitor um but uh but consider like how the arm is going to swing where your desk is what you need to as far as like mounting on your desk um what what your desk's made of how thick it is yes yep and and the latch like the latching mechanism for the arm right cuz like some people have like extra thick desks and then you get them and you're like oh doesn't even work right so there's a lot that goes into buying a monitor arm that's it's just too hard to make like hey here's a universal one one arm fits all kind of recommendation okay guys there is there is no one arm to R them all all packed up in the in the retail packaging just like you would get it if you were new just like it was [Music] myia and remember that monitor is being given away tonight to one lucky viewer here there we go guys all packed up time for monitor number two two to two two this is the Samsung Odyssey G7 this is the 28 in 4k so we'll go and just take a look at that real quick so you guys can see it and when I find my my oh there it is my mouse because I forgot I unplugged my primary monitor now oopsie okay so next up right here and this one's got a little bit of extra bling guys we got some extra bling this is like the one that I used to have uh this is the Samsung Odyssey G7 it's a 28 in 4k UHD remember that means it's got uh UHD is full 4K so it's uh the resolution is uh 3140 by 14 no oh just lost it in my head what's the 4K resolution again guys sorry my mind is by 2160 thank you thank you there it is right there um we're looking at 144 Hertz at 4K which is great so you can so for first person shooters at 4K which some people do do even though I said do do again but there are other games like World of Warcraft stuff like that which are actually really nice that you can do 144 140 in there um for our color get we have 1 millisecond response time so it's less than 2 milliseconds to go from Gray to gray um and then uh I'm trying to remember the srgb color gamut on this one you know what I have it all right here let me bring it up so this is actually 90% coverage of the DCI P3 color spectrum and there's a there's a little aside here with this that those to the the DCI P3 actually covers a broader spectrum of of color so the 90% of that spectrum is actually a a bit broader than the color spectrum that we saw even though that one was 99% of the srgb so again it's 144 Hertz it has both AMD free sync premium Pro and envidia GC compatible it's 400 nits of brightness again so it's an entry point for HDR but it does have HDR uh it's a flat display with an IPS panel which means it's going to have fast response time uh which we talked about which is 2 millisecond a wider viewing angle and good color accuracy uh and then we talked about the 97 the 90% right there uh retail price on this one is $799.99 uh and then this is a great monitor for gamers looking to play cinematic games with Rich colors at 4K it matches well with gpus like the 7900 XTX the Nvidia RTX 480 the 480 super and the 490 you could say the 7900 XT as well um but that's going to definitely be on the lower end um and then uh so that's that's kind of where to think about this one uh in terms of uh the Monitor and everything else and people are like I need well guys we got we got a ways to go to earn this one remember this is an $800 monitor that we could potentially give away but we got it we definitely got it we we're we're we got to get up in the in the subs there so if you want to drop subs and stuff like that remember that also gets you access to things like our uh that also get you access to uh entries towards winning this this desktop PC here in the back so okay let's open it up take a look at this one somebody asked how much this monitor weighs it weighs 17.4 lb with the stand 13.7 without and the box with all of its goodies inside is 23.1 lounds there you go there's all the poundage it's a hefty Hefty boy definitely bigger than what we kind of just went through there we go okay so it says if you're going to if you're going to open this monitor guys what it's saying is first and foremost make yourself blue make yourself blue and then you can read the monitor but again you will actually notice that this is very similar to the packaging we just saw on the G4 so it has our ring but this one is this ring is a little bit thicker cuz we have a little bit of a heftier heftier situation here I do try Bernie we have our blue man here there is this is the standard ring that goes around it which in this one unlike the blue one from the the G4 we actually have a gray one in this case and similar thing it just pulls apart bigger Longer stand I was expecting to hear some Daft Punk start in the background there but there we go and then we have our standard monitor stand here which this one is actually a little bit more straightforward in terms of open here it's got like extra extra tape need a banana for scale the thing is is you can't just use one banana like if I always had a banana like at some point in time it'd be a rotten banana we need to find you a solution for that my friend yeah maybe we'll have to find a rubber banana or something a plastic banana or you could get a uh a copy of the game Banana GRS and you'd have a a handy dandy little banana pouch oh there we go we get sounds like something completely different not to be mixed with a banana hammock exactly okay so here is the stand as you can see quite a bit more beefy than the other one this one actually has screws that we're going to have to put in because of the heftier monitor there we go and then we actually also have our little ring thing here I I found a set of uh eight decorative life-sized bananas there we go for uh for measurement if uh if you're interested in a uh in a measuring set no we might need do you guys do we need to get a banana measuring set [Laughter] absolutely okay and then last thing on here is we have as you can see we come with this one we have a definitely a bigger power brick so you have a bigger power brick little bit nicer container here so we have a HDMI HDMI connection which is nice they actually have so you have additional HDMI ports that you give with this one and we'll show all the panels all that stuff here is the power panel and then we will grab our display port and this also has a remote which I will tell you one of the things that I have seen in the reviews is that uh if you have multiple Samsung monitors I would recommend not using the remote because it'll turn them all on and off that's not just that's just that's not just limited to Samsung that's also a problem with uh with LG G and others as well oh no pole says are the are the bananas for sale and Best Buy Dam yeah they are not which is why I refrain from uh from sharing where I found them best bu get on it I will text you the link [Laughter] later okay mind you Damian you shouldn't have said anything and you should have just you know skipped them to him you know that gives me an idea oh no I don't like this is going oh you will okay full size fulls siiz banana suit for his next stream oh no yo now you gave me an even better idea this is going down a dark this is going down a dark path guys a dark path I'm a big dude so like a me for scale I don't know that that would be a very fair scale no would' be like everything's small it's miniature it's smaller than bananas guys it's so small okay so here is the actual monitor itself so what I'm going to do here and I will always show you this this is my recommendation when you do monitors out of a box like this but I do want to show you guys connectivity real quick so on this one we've got display port we've got two HDMI we have our H we have a USB out USB in another USB out it actually has Lan so this can be connected up to Lan because this is smart so it does have Smart uh features power and then also a headphone jack so you you do have Smart features that come with this as well okay so first thing we're going to do grab our monitor arm and this one unfortunately is not as as straightforward as the other one there you go you make sure that goes underneath and it stays uh there was a question in chat about whether or not this monitor has speakers this one does not uh nor does the other one that we looked at yeah neither one of these have speakers these are have headphones out though the next one we're going to look at does though I'm actually super curious how that unboxing is going to go very carefully okay there we go so next thing we're going to do is so you guys can see here we're going to go to the side view and then what you're doing as well is you're going to grab this while it's plugged in and you're just going to literally attach it now and this will save you some pain versus taking it all out of the box and doing this [Music] independently here we go and then now this is a much heavier monitor so being a little bit more cautious here okay so there's the unboxing experience I'm going to say with the other one this is going to be a certified lower the table for that one okay there we go let's get it hooked up real quick we're going to plug in our power there we go okay then we're going to grab our display port cable [Music] always the funniest part of hitting up display ports is which direction does it go again and then you flip it over and it's still wrong and you have to flip it over again there we go and this still does have this still does have the same thing in terms of cable management you can route the cables through the through the through the actual base and make it easier for that sort of stuff if you want want to as well okay we are now plugged in and we are should be on let's make sure okay so for oh you know one thing range you can see we've got this this you actually got tilt tilt and then you've also got full this is how up and down you can make it so there you go [Music] oh your power cable came unplugged from the bottom of the monitor oh did it great yeah I see it there right at the base of the stand oh you're right yeah I just unplugged it okay cool good job robes so it's not broken I didn't drop this one you you didn't there we go there we go wow so Roby once you get uh this thing all fired up would you just go ahead and confirm that this does not have speakers built into it because we to a little bitting information that we're running into on this okay yeah we'll definitely see if we can get some audio on it hello bonjour and again like yes it has speakers it it does oh okay I didn't know that oh my gosh I don't want to do this right now oh I can go to skip okay hold on go through all of your neighborhood Wi-Fi later I just like the one that said you are awesome so yes there are speakers and I can hear them this is a smart monitor which means you're getting you do have apps on this you can do this for other things as well so there is more to there's more to it than just using using our using just the monitor so if you want to use this for Netflix and all those other things you do get that benefit as well so we are at we are at response time faster standard picture mode we got ultra white so you can see some stuff there's a lot of stuff that this thing has extra bonuses which is what you're getting for the additional uh the additional fee so we'll go to settings and then we're for picture you can see we're in game mode you do have sound monitor speaker there connectivity if you want to do things like update your your um firmware and then it looks like the picture mode is actually just automatic so but you do have expert settings in here you can do things like brightness contrast tint local dimming contrast enhancement all that sort of stuff so there's a lot of other things that you can do here so almost identical to Samsung's uh TV menu tele yeah tele stuff so this is you are definitely going to get a you're going to if you use a Samsung TV there's your software update okay can you okay so I'm going to go ahead and set this as primary I'm hoping that goes away it should have a 30-second timeout oh dude yeah dude I usually if you hit left all the way it goes away but this is not letting you go so we'll see if the 30 second timeout works and we will not bring up the menu again all so we made that our main display here okay so let's move our controllers over and all that sort of stuff uh touchcreen and monitors don't really they don't that doesn't come up a lot oh yeah yeah you just hold the you just hold the menu button you just hold it down Okay so let's take a look at a couple games here we showed you um we showed you uh some uh uh some FPS games but this one is definitely going to be more cinematic titles um you can play fpss on it of course uh oh I do want to show you real quick let's look at refresh rate and stuff like that and then also the uh the g-sync stuff so here you go opening up our panel you can see we have enable gsync or g-sync compatible you can see that both this is gsync compatible and then we also have here our um our Zenon Monitor and then for our display settings if you wanted to do more than 144 Hertz we also have we'll go up to 164 120 so we'll go to 164 why not keep changes there we go so let's let's check out Somey cyberpunk show something that's beautiful I will say that when you look at this panel compared to the other panel the blacks are a lot darker you can I I know it's kind of harder CU you're seeing some Reflections from uh the lights and stuff like that but there is definitely more there is definitely a more color gamut obviously in the quality of this panel versus the one that we saw on the other one and you can also hear music too this is just out of the box setting axness yes so again we're going to show you the same thing we're going to run at a less refresh rate but you're not with gsync and all of the other compatibility you will see no you will see no um so we'll go Graphics let's go to 4K Ray tracing Ultra we're going to change it to Performance we'll leave frame generation off for now video is full screen we're going to go to 1430 wh there we go so we're now resolution and go ahead and give it a go [Music] yeah this is IPS yes so again we're way below 165 Hertz but here we're running at 73 frames per second wow this actually this the this color looks really good I mean this looks better than the Zenon um so uh color-wise sorry this looks really stunning it's it's unfortunate you guys can't see this when you you know it's like I'm trying the best I can and it's funny the other thing too is that you guys are seeing some jitteriness but that jitteriness is not coming across on my screen at all it's like buttery smooth so so some of that is just camera yeah and it looks even better in person hey superator thank you very much that helps a ton so if you guys miss superator CLA re uh reason it's because the camera is recording at a fixed frame rate but the monitor is vrr so the monitor is keeping it super smooth and it looks incredible to me but to the rest of you it doesn't look as good so okay let's go to settings here we're going to go and let's go and throw just something a little bit higher throw on frame generation and Ray reconstruction hit apply and then we'll run it and see a little bit of a higher frame rate here okay I'll I'll pull Allen wake too yeah we can show Allen wake the one thing that's tough about Allen wake is that it doesn't have a benchmark mode there you go here's 114 so right now we're running a third a 14900 with a 48 sorry 13900 with a 4080 is what this is a this is a falcon Northwest Tiki which is a very heavy boy yeah they're solid but yeah just showing you some more cinematic type game we can throw some Allen we on here too I have all the games on this one no the stream doesn't do Injustice but again this is more of a buyer guide showing you a bunch of different options again uh look apparently Zeon just started playing in shrouded but again showing you uh you know monitors and action so you can see questions talk about 4K see jinxy it work uh it is actually showing you how vrr Works um uh which is actually pretty cool and at the same time answering questions and showing you different monitors the only thing too is you can actually turn on the lighting here um which I haven't done but we can turn on here let's go to settings beam always has to be telling on me don't it okay so here we go turning on our lighting and now we've got you can see down here you can see we got the blue so you can change off the you can change the lighting to whatever you want so given where Roby tech let's go and make it red and there you go so now You' got that red core lighting as well so you can you do have a little bit of RGB which is actually pretty cool too so now there isn't any on the back or any oh never mind I'm sorry I was wrong I didn't even know this okay my not bad it's not just in the front it's also a party in the back guys now remember there would be this over it so this would be covering but you do actually have the lighting in the back as well so you do actually get some you will get some glow off of the back of it as well yeah this is the Samsung GB uh the Samsung G7 yep it is it's RGB and you do have a ton of options in terms of showing the RGB and stuff like that too so party in the front and in the back ladies and gentlemen okay so let's get out of this and the speakers are actually pretty they're I mean they're they're more impressive than I thought oh jeez lots of smart smart features okay so let's check out let's see I think I have I should have Allan Wake on here it's all the stuff I haven't I haven't been on this system I know I have hland wake on here because I played it at uh I played it at at uh dream hack so never mind I know it's on here rbby there's a question about how you control the RGB on the monitor is it via software or is it in it's actually uh so it's via there is I showed it it's a menu item they have this thing called core connect so I'm not sure I don't know if somebody can look it up to see if core connect also what core connect really is so we'll just give this a couple minutes but yeah uh I it is you can change it within the menu I showed that I'll show you it again real quick while we're waiting for this to download it won't take long so if you go to here and you go to settings and you go to game and then you go to core [Music] lighting okay so and then they have this thing called core sync which you can see right here it says lighting sync provides more immersive gaming by synchronizing the lighting effect with the screen you also have static rainbow flash double flash breathing so there are if you want like the full-blown RGB stuff now you can see down here we're actually getting like a rainbow glow and it's also cycling through on the back as well and then or you can just choose a static color and then you actually have all of these options here as well so so there's actually quite a bit you can do in terms of customization to make it your monitor to give it your thing and then the virtual aim Point okay so this is something else and I actually know that these things are actually pretty good so this stuff is interesting virtual aim point so it turns on and it shows you basically get on your monitor you get a reticle you get a reticle so you always know some people love these things especially as people train but you'll See it'll actually stay on your monitor no matter what so you can keep your you actually have the virtual aim point there too so if you're looking for and then they also have a black equalizer some other things like that HDR tone mapping and some other things for gaming so it'll be down downloading here in just a few seconds game crosshairs aren't static so yeah rexis nothing nothing like that Andrew morx as far as I know there's no way to connect the monitor to your um to your uh system to change it so yeah I'm looking and I can't find any that's a dedicated app for uh for the Monitor and not and and or's right not every game has a Crosshair was gamehub I'd have to hook it up uh I think this has all of the same smart features so if I go to home this has all the same smart features of any other TV so you have all the apps and connected apps here if I was connected to to um so you can download you can download I I'm guessing you'll have um uh Xbox gamecloud and all that sort of stuff because it is literally just like a smart TV so given $799 that's what goes to here yeah GeForce now should be on there Netflix Apple TV all of those same things too so it does have multiple it does have that TV functionality which Samsung has which I some people appreciate some people don't obviously it's this is a guide guys this is giving you ideas I'm not saying that this may be the perfect monitor for you it's just giving you ideas of all of these different monitors and we're trying to do these with different companies at times to show things you know on a more frequent place and give you more than just PC builds and Andrew uh whenever he was first doing the setup it does have a uh smartone it does have the smartphone stuff yep it recognized I have an iOS device it's always looking for my stuff it is also funny too that in some of the marketing for for this particular monitor that the stadia uh icon is uh is listed in the um available apps yeah you can download it and not do anything with it rest in peace stadia yeah rip stadia it does have Wi-Fi yes so you saw when I jumped in there you could see the Wi-Fi stuff too it does have Wi-Fi [Music] yes yeah so you do have St to uway uh it's on our list uh I I don't know enough about mon um but we do some of it you know we try anyway now guys we're getting close because we have one more monitor to go through once we kind of show this game uh the next one's probably going to be a little bit of more gameplay stuff that we'll kind of show off on it just because it's such a radical monitor um but uh as we're preparing for doing the giveaway for the PC a pretty good patch on this actually can this monitor be used used as a tamagachi screen it could if there was a way to easily do that let's go to options Graphics we're at full screen a number of requests for you to sing the uh the Pokemon theme song from start to finish as well as doing an interpretive dance number along W that is a lot of work that you have asked me to do big request big ask it's a big ask okay guys so here we are checking out Allan weight 2 I think we're in a kind of Trapped place right now so we'll have to see Roby don't do it chat seems pretty divided man this game sorry this game just looks so good I mean her hair the detail on her hair is nuts I mean they their lighting model for this was crazy everybody say Hi Sam yeah this is 4K no no this is 4K this is a 4K this one's four yeah and we can throw down to 1440 piece you can see that too no that's the render resolution so this is using dlss so seven out of eight pixels on here are AI generated don't all faint at once ly Min from Robotech all right so one of the questions you guys had is what happens if you uh one of the questions you guys asked is what happens if you decide to play at 1440p like what does that do and how does it look so we'll drop down to [Music] 1440p so again we'll change this to balance which is better for 1440p again keeping dlss so a little bit of sharpness loss but for the most part I mean you're seeing a little bit of sharpness loss when it's not ideal resolution but again completely capable of playing at 1440p you're seeing it jump up to 144 frames per second uh there's 14 there's 1440p jump back up to and then there's 4K so actually it's quite a bit crisper at 4K than it is at 14 it it looked like you had FSR 2 turned on no it's dlss FSR would be the line would be underneath frame generation vsync yeah my my bad my bad I it you went through the menu really really quick and I just saw FSR 2 it's a good clarification cuz you probably weren't the only one who saw that okay so again just showing you guys a different game lots of blacks in this this panel is doing a really good job in terms of it's a very this is a very pretty panel that does look beautiful even on it looks even better in first in person so I mean it just the the panel itself it just makes such a big difference so there's a question about what happens when you turn off dlss uh your frame R your frame I'll show you why not live dangerously Roby okay here we go we're going to go to dlss off so we're going to turn it we're going to go to daa which is basically full res and there we go look at our frame rate we're at 20 frames per second hey it's not quite a slideshow and this is where V this is where vbr and it's like there's nothing that can save you from just terrible performance this game crushes um and this is this is this is the part where people are like this is where games need to understand this is where especially cinematic games where things like AI upscaling are here to stay because they push they allow the performance of the PC beyond what it's capable of and AI generation is just going to be part of what gaming is because running these games purely rasterized two things one rasterize will actually look worse and two running it purely rasterized on anything even a 4090 would be terrible so but I love the Nostalgia of being stuck underneath 30 frames per second yeah so again it's just one of those things that people are just it's it's a technology that's here to stay and you know the fact that AMD Intel and uh Nvidia have embraced it uh that this is a core part of their Tech that this is going to make its way through gaming and it continues to do so do you care that's completely a personal thing but that doesn't change the fact that it is what it is so okay so that is showing you a couple games uh on 4K uh you know it's not in terms of brightness and whoops I just totally kicked that in terms of brightness and stuff like that you have all the pre-ets this has a much more a wider gamut of smart features a nicer panel um and at the same time RGB right so that's that's kind of the key things that you're kind of getting here it would not be a bad idea just to show one more let's let's load up because you're not wrong um about you're not wrong about this one let's go and throw just to show something a little bit more bright and then we'll jump into uh we'll jump into the next monitor well araxis even at 1440p it's still going to be a thing you're not I'm I it's and the only twoo is for the first time and yes it's only in two games there other games there are other games and I know this for sure that will look better AI upscale than they will purely rasterized so yeah 7702 you are not wrong the the black it's not coming across CU you're seeing reflections from all the lights and stuff like that I can see maybe it'll be worth I'll try this turning off some of these back these other lights to minimize reflection um the reflection is not so bad with this monitor it definitely has a different uh different ma cover over the screen than the G4 did there we go so then just giving you guys another kind of look at some color that actually looks way better when I turned off those lights again it's surprising even just watching it on the stream how good that looks yeah and it looks even better I would say this is like what you're seeing there you right there you that's uh 60 I'd say that's about 60% of what we're what I'm seeing here maybe 75 actually and the vbr the variable refresh rate is this is butter smooth to me uh even though you it doesn't seem butter smooth when what you're seeing on screen beautiful so let's just jump into the game again just to show you some more bright like brightly lit we've shown you a couple darker games so let's just give you something brightly lit here fix I like that okay so here we go so this is brighter screen here what uhoh apparently I went in the door it does look like a great mind sweeper a monitor ah yes but will it run crisis though so again just showing something a little bit brighter can I go out again n there we go so there's some giving you some more brightness there some color some happy little trees yep so again just a really pretty panel that looks very clean and the colors are just really really good [Music] so there we go nice view there just giving you guys some colors and all that sort of stuff to give you an idea okay so that is the Samsung G7 a 4k monitor uh so a little bit of a different one again definitely targeted at a higher tier uh looking at 4K we talked a little bit about uh what you need in terms of hardware and stuff to uh to support something like this but beautiful monitor it's got RGB it's got speakers um and again you're seeing the other smart features that it also has um as part of that process as well um with things like the like Netflix and uh all of the other things that come with this particular monitor versus what you got um with uh something like the G4 which we showed a little bit earlier so yeah the G6 can fly uh especially if you buy the10 to5 million version of the G6 uh which we will not be showing on today's stream just so you [Music] know oh we were hoping for you know rural world flight simulator how how how cool would that be would this be close to a pro art panel uh no uh Pro art panels like specifically the ones from Asus uh they usually cover 99.9% of the uh DCI Das P3 and srgb color gamut um and uh they have more uh uh they're better balanced for color accuracy where these are usually balanced for entertainment and stuff like that turn down the music a bit is it really that loud yeah I can turn the music down there you go so Roby there was also a highlighted message a little bit back celebrating a blondie Victory what did Blondie do she saved the day how did she not did I not did she save me from dropping a monitor no no uh uh kosaki um and I'm probably butchering your name there no that's right says Blondie but geeky helped me a lot Roby had Discord glitch and she saved me oh nice it's too low now you guys I can't win so what I'm hearing is we need to get Blondie aych Heroes Cape I don't I think we're sold out of those I think we have no more Heroes capes yeah yeah especially with that incident with the uh the turbine it's just a bad scene that literally two QHD monitors that are smashed together in one big Ultra monitor it is curved too so this is the the one curve monitor that we are uh we're looking at here this evening uh the G9 has a ref fresh rate of 240 HZ uh and it is also free sync Pro and gsync compatible as well um this one has a response time of 03 milliseconds that's the that's the beauty of OLED right there that is that is the beauty of OLED you're about to behold the Majesty uh so again this is an OLED display that means that you're going to have like richer deeper colors deeper blacks uh brighter whites the colors are going to be more vibrant uh this covers 99% of the DCI P3 color so this is great great if you're into heavy productivity you know especially video editors who are huge fans of these kind of monitors these are the kind of monitors they love because of color accuracy color accuracy um and especially if you balance them and calibrate them which we're going to see out of out of the box dude cuz we're we're not those kind of we're not those kind of people but yes well still you're going to see craziness yeah we going to going to behold the Majesty of the O all right so this this display um is also paired with uh a special Samsung processor here uh they call it the Neo Quantum processor Pro that uh helps assist with uh making sure that the um the color fidelity on the uh the the display is is is uh that it's displayed right um so that it's optimized for color contrast and shade so this also is a um this is a smart monitor so it's got those buil-in features like um you know if we already said people who are our content creators people who do things like photography love to have color accuracy need to have Rich bright vibrant colors uh need to have that extra real estate to work with uh people who love performance at 1440p uh you mentioned this earlier in the Stream Roby that if you're somebody that likes to do like racing Sims or flight Sims like this is going to be the jam for you so um as far as G gpus go with this um because this is 1440p oh you okay yeah heard that heard that grunt man well we just put it on the table all right because this is 1440p um so recommended uh you know your 700 XT 7900 XTS your RTX 470 supers RTX 4070 TI 470 TI supers um basically if you've got a a 1440p card that uh that does that does good work at 1440p I'm using those because they're kind of the more modern uh card uh the more modern cards there but I imagine too like some of your your last gen cards that do you know 1440p well are going to yeah your 6700 XTS your 6900s um obviously you want to this is still something that you're probably going to want a high-end graphics card for cuz you are still pushing two 1440p monitors which isn't quite 4K you know what I mean but it's still you you know for Ultra wide it matters right so yeah okay guys so that hopefully that was a nice introduction now is the time to pop this open and I apologize for the uh coughing in your ears guys okay so we do it is Vasa certified so we do have Vasa certification it has that special Vasa mount for it we're not going to be doing Vasa mounting we're going to be using the base cuz it's all about that base about that base no trouble no trouble so here's our base right here that would be a very muddy sound so again all silver really really nice Quality Base here so all silver in terms of the base ooh fancy and then on the other side we have our this is our our Mount so this part is plasticky it's not metal even though it looks metal but it is plasticky so in terms of compatible okay so let's check out we've got some of the best look at jeez some of the Best widescreen experiences obviously on here so uh uh so we have a number of them to kind of show off let's start with uh let's start with Microsoft Flight Sim and the curve is not that [Music] bad it probably looks a little extreme on the stream but uh I imagine being it's actually not that bad it's not it's not terrible now the one thing is ultrawide is going to take some take some work wow the color though I mean in this you are going to see the blacks and stuff like that are insane so we're going to get this set up obviously for optimal here Roby since this is a a dual panel display do you see a distinct line in the middle of it no I do not okay so the I'm showing you I'm going to show you games specifically that have Ultra wide on this [Music] so burn in now especially with monitors like this they have a lot of additional features um that minimize that I play exclusively on oleds and there is so much technology with pixel shifting and stuff like that that odds are bu burn in are actually pretty low and a lot of these panels actually have Burnin protection as well I was just going to make that point glad you made it okay so let's go to options [Music] we're going to go to full screen keep changes we're going to do 5140 x440 we're going to go to dlss we'll run it at balanced vsync is on because we want to show that um why is oh frame generation that's right because they have to be at dx12 for that um vsync on Nvidia reflex is now on 100% of the refresh and we're good and then we're basically at ult ra for everything so we're good there okay so we'll go back now and let's check out let's check out a uh let's check out a a cool let's just check out a cool City okay [Music] you may need to raise your DPI for such a big monitor guys the color on this is Bonkers well I chose games that specifically support ultrawide so you'll see there you go oh wow oh I'm just catching it on the stream now dude this is crazy now it is definitely pushing look at the frame rate is 39 so we're definitely pushing this the tech here I would use this with frame generation for sure but 39 seems to be okay 36 whoa there's some perspective stuff to definitely oh no so I definitely think frame generation is going to be needed this is one of those things this is a game that pushes the crap this is a game this is a game that pushes the crap out of the hardware as good as this looks 422 encoding cannot do this Justice no so just showing you again definitely for the higher end right in terms of game and stuff like this let's bring our engine up speed whoa I'm seeing a couple people ask if you can show off cockpit mode yes uh trying to remember how to get there I think it's there it is oops I mean this is what immersion is right guys like for these kind of games you know what I mean like this is where you're going to see immersion right especially for games like this yeah it's a falcon Northwest Tiki there's a question about whether or not you can run a a PC on one side of this and console on the other yep you absolutely can and this has a lot of features for separating and showing that stuff as well um so yeah for sure that you can that is definitely one of the features you can do uh is separate screens and then showing picture and picture as well so yeah there's and that's and it's set up for things like that too now this is this I mean the immersion is crazy I think this is a question for chat though can anybody see their house from here we're in New Dual mode is interesting right specifically the fact that you can play 1080p at 360 Herz and then you can play 4K at 240 I mean again it's one of those things that it allows esport Gamers and people who play competitive games to jump down to a resolution that is more akin to what competitive players do and then still play cinematic game EXP experiences and not feel like you have to have multiple monitors I feel like it's niche in terms of the particular Market that it's for um but I don't necessarily say it's gimmicky I think there's a lot of people who actually would love dual mode for a number of reasons yeah isn't that the same though it's just yeah that's right you're 480 HZ my bad it's okay FX you don't have to be you can be that guy I don't pretend to know everything and there's way too much for me to remember everything so I'm off on the side and it OLED view angles are perfect I mean you could literally play it from here like I could play it from here and it would be fine because the viewing angle on OLED is is pretty much infinite and what you don't realiz is that robie's actually standing three rooms over yeah so we'll show you guys another game that's immersive and then we'll we'll pop in some Starfield and then check out I think well I heard god of war and God of War is really good Red Dead Redemption is also good with ultra wide um I was going to see if in mean this is just fun and the other two is like if you want to start this and then see if you want to get into a racing Sim or anything like that you can absolutely use this as like a gateway drug for as you do yep the immersion and stuff like that is just super fun and the color is just looks so good it just it all pops so well so anyway guys that is Forza Horizon another game that's Sports Ultra also know I think uh I think um I know that um no man's Sky supports Ultra wide resolution um and then the other game uh the Chris Roberts um the one that's the most expensive game ever made I that I didn't want to I didn't want to go from there okay so I guess I kind of showed you some of the games I know I do know for a fact that cyber Punk oh sorry I don't know for a fact I have also heard that cyberp punk supports it we'll test that and then this will be the last thing because I want to show something that's not a standard game like racing and flight Sims always make a lot of sense but I want to give you something that's uh that's different oh well that's already taking up the whole screen it's a little bit wide whoa that's some that's some stretch right there I'm going to step away things you can do that um that I don't know for me the whole process of using that stuff can be quite gimmicky like if I'm going to use my monitor I want to use it uh to the full extent of its you know its its abilities and all that sort of stuff but um again very very cool very you know expensive in terms of pricing and stuff like that but uh you know there if you want to check it out and uh go from there so that guys is our full rundown our full rundown of uh three monitors showing you uh 1440p with ultra wide 4K with the G7 and then 1080p with the Samsung G4 uh you know this whole thing is like taking up oh okay lower it a little bit uh and just giving you a clear idea of uh what stuff like this you know looks like what it's you know what you can use it for um and you know what the different monitor terms mean um just to try and give you a good idea of what you know what kind of monitor you might want right and that's ultimately what we want more than anything is you guys to
