your name amen amen amen well i'm so excited this morning that we have a bunch of quorum of capable teachers and preachers amen right here at kcc and uh one of them happens to be my sweet wife amen it was just a tremendous amen she is a tremendous gospel preacher and uh i knew that about her uh since day one uh she was preaching when we met and i was always impressed with her ability as the old preachers would say uh to chop some wood amen she can chop some wood preach the horns off of billy goat preach the paint off the walls whatever metaphor you want to pick she can preach and she can teach amen and so this morning i'm excited about having her to minister uh and this is not just so i can take a break i'll be honest with you spirit of god began to minister to me earlier this week and and told me that she had a word in her mouth he did and that it would be expedient for the people of god and how many all know uh we need to always be okay with who god is using is that right and i'm a guy both pragmatically and spiritually has no problem with that and so i thank god for that so without any further ado i'm excited this morning and are you going to say amen are you going to take some notes amen we're excited to have first lady rogers to be minister in the word come on give her a good god bless you as she come amen amen amen amen amen before you see that the bible says lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the lord amen what an appropriate ending song that the praise team sang this morning amen you'll see as we get into our lesson but can you give god some praise this morning hallelujah hallelujah god we bless you we bless your name lord we were so glad when you said unto us let us go into the house of the lord and so god we thank you for this yet another day and an opportunity to be in your church god we consider it such a privilege and an honor and we're glad to be here so god we pray god that you will bless this service god we bring our authority over this atmosphere in the name of jesus come on let's suit up our feet are shocked for the preparation of the gospel of peace our loins are girded about what truth we have on the breastplate of righteousness the shield of faith the sword of the spirit the helmet of salvation we have love and our faith works by love and we have keys to the kingdom come on and by the devil we bind you satan in the name of jesus we take authority over every distraction in the name of jesus every wrong look every thought and we call this atmosphere conducive to signs wonders miracles we call this atmosphere conducive to peace and joy in the name of jesus may the word of god fall on good ground in the hearts of god's people in the name of jesus come on and bless the lord hallelujah amen i do honor our pastor this morning amen what an awesome man of god he is you may be seated in the presence of the lord amen i ask that you would please turn with me to psalm chapter 115 psalm chapter 1 15. and i think we're going to read the first 11 verses of psalm chapter 1 15. all right psalm chapter 115 are you ready all right psalm chapter 115 not unto us oh lord not unto us but to your name give glory because of your mercy and because of your truth why should the gentiles say so where is their god our god is in heaven whatever he pleases their idols are silver and gold the work of men's hands they have mouths but they do not speak eyes they have but they do not see they have ears but they do not hear noses they have but they do not smell they have hands but they do not handle feet they have but they do not walk nor do they mutter through their throat those who make them are like them so is everyone who trusts in them oh israel trust in the lord he is their help and their shield o house of aaron trust in the lord he is their help and their shield you who fear the lord trust in the lord he is their help and their shield i want to read verse number 12 the lord has been mindful of us he will bless us he will bless the house of israel he will bless the house of aaron he will bless those who fear the lord both small and great skip down to verse number 18 but we will bless the lord from this time forth and forevermore praise the lord everybody shout hallelujah amen if you can focus your attention on verse number one the psalmist says not unto us o lord not unto us but to your name give glory because of your mercy and because of your truth i want to talk just for a few minutes this morning from the subject give glory to god give glory to god this psalm number 15 is a collection of psalms that is known as the passover song and as you read this particular psalm and sound team if you can start the clock for me please if you as you read this uh particular psalm you will see that it has as its focus the glory of god and more specifically praise to god for his goodness this particular psalm of 15 it is a song of praise and it is one of the psalms that was traditionally read or sung after the passover meal i think it is worth notice that jesus with his disciples would have sang or recited this particular psalm or collection of psalms at the last supper and it's incredibly profound when you consider all the events that were taking place around him for example if you look at mark chapter 14 verses 22 through 26 in particular mark chapter 14 verse number 26 it says and when they had sang a hymn they went out to the mount of olives that him there is referring to this collection of psalms which is psalms 113 chapters 113 through chapters 118 which includes psalm 115 which is in our text so i think it's very interesting that right before jesus right before jesus our lord would suffer right before he would die on the cross we see him giving glory to god amen so the passover psalm is a collection of psalms that begins with psalm 113 and concludes through psalm 118. there is a common theme or focus or element that we see that is consistent within each of these psalms that teaches us how to give glory to god and i'm here to tell you that no no in a day like today now more than ever you're going to have to learn how to give god glory and as i'm saying here there there's a common theme there's some elements that we see in psalms 113 through psalms 118 and they teach us something about how it is that we are to give glory to god first of all there is a call to praise when you read these psalms psalms chapter 113 through psalms 118 you will observe that there is a call to praise secondly there is a reason for praise there's a reason for praise in other words the psalmist begins to provide a description of who god is and all that god has done so there is a call to praise then there is a reason for that praise and then finally the psalm is always concludes with another call to praise and you can see that so so vividly in our particular text here this morning but there's also another aspect of these psalms that i want to bring to your attention there's another element of these particular psalms that teaches us or helps us to understand how and notice i said how it helps us to understand how it is that we are to give glory to god there is within each of these psalms a type of writing there's a there's a type of format there's a type of writing structure that's within these particular psalms and that particular structure is called descriptive praise it's a descriptive praise and i want to show you explain to you what i mean by descriptive praise and this will show us how it is that we should learn how to give glory to god descriptive praise is a type of praise it's not just limited to church it's not just limited to the psalms but descriptive praise is also a type of praise that that that even uh parents use or are taught in learning how to to teach a positive reinforcement to their children uh educators use this type of praise uh to bring out the best in their children descriptive praise is not only beneficial to children but descriptive praise is also beneficial in our relationships with each other descriptive praise husbands is beneficial in your relationship to your wife uh uh wives the descriptive praise is beneficial in your relationship to your husband uh descriptive praise is very much different from non-specific praise just listen to me because i'm teaching you how to give glory to god let me explain to you what i mean when i say descriptive praise it's one thing for me to tell pastor thank you or i appreciate all that you do if that's nice and i most certainly do mean well but that is a little bit too general [Music] it's a little bit too vague but when i move into descriptive praise as i'm talking to my husband i'm going to tell him dear i appreciate how hard you work for our family dear you got up early in the morning you've been working all day long and you come home and you bring your money home and you help out with the kids and you help out you do there thank you for getting the mulch that i asked for thank you for doing things for me dear thank you for helping me to look good that's descriptive praise and see descriptive praise is a praise that is very specific descriptive praise is when you acknowledge in great detail when you acknowledge exactly what it is that they have done and who they are and that's the type of praise that's the type of praise that god is looking for in this day and hour it's that type of praise when you acknowledge everything in great detail that god has done for you god i bless your name god because if it had not bent for you who is on my side god when the enemy came up against me he would have swallowed me alive i want you to take a minute right here and give god some descriptive praise [Applause] god you're good to us god you've blessed us you healed our bodies god you blessed us with prosperity and well god when i was laid off on my job god i didn't laugh any good things give them some praise hallelujah and so we see here in these particular psalms chapters 1 13 through 1 18 we see the psalmist going through great detail as he begins to praise god in other words these psalms have within them i want you to listen to this a contemplative reflective and consideration of who god is and all that god has done the psalms has within them a contemplative anything that you contemplate you you you have a prolonged thought towards it anything that you are reflective about it requires a deep thought and anything that your consideration you're giving consideration to it's a careful thought so these psalms have within them a contemplative a reflective and a consideration of who god is and all that god has done in other words as the psalmist begins to sit down he begins to contemplate and he begins to reflect on the goodness of god all through his life he begins to take careful thought and consideration over his life it reminds me of david said i've been young and i've been old and i have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging great he said i've been young and i've been oh david begin to consider he began to reflect on the goodness of god from the time that he was young all throughout his life and he began to write and reflect on his goodness i want you to write down in your notes 2nd samuel chapter 7 and verse number 18. in fact let's look at that really carefully i want you to see here an example of a contemplative reflective and consideration second samuel chapter seven let me get there second samuel chapter 7 verse number 18. uh it says then king david went in and sat before the lord see sometimes as it relates to giving glory to god you need to find a place in your house or a place in your car and you need to sit down before the lord and and we see here david is this he's in this posture of of of contemplativeness and reflectiveness and being considerate and he says the bible says that king david went in and sat before the lord and he said who am i oh lord god and what is my house that you have brought me this far david is here he's reflecting on the goodness of god david is remembering that it wasn't because he came from good stock it wasn't because it was something special about his family but david as he's reflecting on the goodness of god as he is considering all the good things that god has done for him david says who am i oh lord and who am i and what is my house what is my family that you have brought me this far he says and yet this was a small thing in your sight o lord and you have also spoken of your servant's house for a great while to come is this the manner of man o lord god now what lord can david say to you notice this progression of thought it's a progression of thought as david begins to think about the goodness of god as david begins to consider see we're talking about giving glory to god and one of the ways that you give glory to god you got to learn how to consider you got to learn how to contemplate your mind got to go down memory lane as you begin to consider and david says what more can i say what more can david say to you for you lord god know your servant and notice his praise in verse number 22 as david begins to give glory and to contemplate to god he says therefore lord you are great god when i consider david says when i consider my life when i consider all the great things that you have done for me when i consider how you save my soul when i consider how you redeem me from destruction david says therefore that word therefore is the word of conclusion you are great oh lord god for there is none like you nor is there any god besides you according to all that we have heard with our ears when you give glory to god you've got to go down memory lane you've got to think about the goodness of god in your life i want to show you another example of this descriptive praise in psalm chapter 118. psalm chapter 118 we see this the structure of descriptive praise so beautifully in psalm 9 chapter 118 and i'm not going to read it in its entirety but as i told you first of all there's a call to praise there's a call to praise notice how it starts out oh give thanks to the lord for he is good for his mercy endures forever so we see here that there is a call to praise and all throughout the remainder of this psalm we see the reason why i'm praising see when the praise team gets up and and and calls us to praise when our pastor gets up and calls us to praise you got to have in your mind the reason why i'm praising him [Applause] listen what the psalmist says here uh as to the reasons why i'm just gonna highlight a few verses uh the reason why i'm praising god in psalm chapter 118 verse number five for example he says because i called on the lord in distress i want you to know that the times we're living in are times of distress but dude the psalmist says i called on the lord in times of distress and the lord answered me and set me in a broad place so we see here in verse number five and our pastor taught this to us last thursday night on prayer as a warfare that we serve a god who answers in times of distress so the reason why i'm responding to the call of praise is because i serve a god who hears my prayers hallelujah he's not a god with eyes but cannot see he's not a god where he is but cannot hear but his ears are always i said they're always attentive to the cry of his people so the psalmist goes as you can sit down he continues on his response the reason why he's praising god looks into what he says in verse number six he says i'm praising god because the lord is on my side he says i will not fear what can man do to me i like how the amplified version reads this amplifier says what can mere man do to me i know many of you have gotten notices from your job notice this into culture but i dare you to give god a praise [Applause] what can mere man do to me he says the lord is for me among those who help me skip down to verse number 10. he says and this is this is the reason see see there's a call to praise but you got to know why you're praising him he says in verse number 10 all nations surround me but in the name of the lord i will destroy them he says they surrounded me yes they surrounded me but in the name of the lord i will destroy them and i like verse number 13 look at verse number 13. he says you pushed me violently that i might fall but the lord helped me hallelujah glory [Applause] i tell you i'm praising god for his help i'm giving god glory because he's helping me hallelujah give him glory [Applause] hallelujah let's go back to our text our text this morning going back to psalm 115 begins with an acknowledgement of god the psalmist says not unto us o lord not unto us but to your name give glory because of your mercy and your truth so this psalm begins with an acknowledgement of god to acknowledge god is to regard him as deserving of a particular status and i'm here to tell you i don't care what's going on in your life i don't care what's going on in your home i don't care what's going on in your job and i most certainly don't care what's going on in this world god is deserving of glory and the sooner you come to that realization the sooner that you get that deep down in your soul the better off you will be to acknowledge god is to regard him as deserving of a particular status and what is that status that god is deserving of god is deserving of priests god is deserving of glory and god is deserving of honor you understand today that worship is not about us worship is not about us this is why this is why it is so distressing to see people who are reserved in their worship it's so distressing to see people when we come into the house of god just sit there like a bump on the law you don't even raise your hand you don't even leap for joy you don't even open up your mouth but see worship is not about you worship is about god and worship is an acknowledgement of god it's so distressing to see it's such a dishonorable attitude people have in the in the church today but but see when you think about the goodness of god when you think about the fact that you didn't wake yourself up this morning when you think about the fact that you're not keeping your heart beating your mind begins to run back to all the goodness of god and what it's done for you your hands can't help to go up your mouth can't help but to open and you give god a praise [Applause] hallelujah the psalmist says psalm 124 he had an acknowledgment of god and psalm 124 is one of my favorite psalms the psalmist says if it had not been for the lord and i know sometimes we we we that song has become a cliche in the church but for many people i know for myself importantly it it is it is it is my motto it it is it is it is the truth and reality that if it had not been [Applause] for the lord who was on my side when the enemy had came up against us they would have swallowed us alive and then the psalmist says in verse number six blessed be the lord who has not given us as prey to their teeth our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowler the snare is broken and we have escaped our help is in the name of the lord who made the heavens and the earth so this particular psalm going back to our text opens up with an acknowledgement of god and i want to pause right here to encourage some of you non-praises of you non-worshippers i want to encourage some of you non-praises you better learn how to acknowledge god you better learn how to give them glory you ain't got to have a fancy dance but you better learn how to jump up and down you better learn how to lift your hands you better learn how to open up your mouth and you better learn how to say hallelujah you better learn how to say god i bless you you better learn how to say god i thank you give them praise [Applause] hallelujah hallelujah see you can take your seat so when we are acknowledging god we are giving to him his rightful place when we are acknowledging god we are giving him we we're considering in our minds all the good things that he has done for us and we are placing him in his rightful place for all of the great things that he has done and for who he is now there are many reasons why we need to acknowledge god but for the sake of time i'm going to give you four reasons from the text of why we need to acknowledge god and then i'm going to be done let's look at verse number one the first reason why we need to give glory to god is because of his mercy give glory to god because of his mercy and i'm i'm appealing especially this morning again to my non-praisers i'm trying to light a fire under you i'm trying to get you to understand and to see that you you didn't save yourself okay you didn't bring yourself this far i'm trying to get you to see in the in the midst of this culture you're not keeping yourself but one of the reasons the first reason that we are to give glory to god is because of his mercy the bible says not unto us oh god not unto us but to your name give glory that word glory is kabad it's the chabad it refers to glorious honor god i'm honoring you i'm bestowing up to you i'm giving you the glory that's due your name because of your mercy this word mercy in the in the in the hebrew is hessed and it refers to loving kindness or steadfast love god's love for us is a gracious love it's a love that we do not deserve god loves us even when we don't even understand or realize the magnitude of his love but the psalmist is saying god i'm praising you because you love me this word has it is also a description of the goodness of god i'm here to tell you saints god is good hallelujah god is good it's one of the ways that god demonstrates his goodness towards us as god gives to us god is always giving to us god gives us life he gives us health he gives us strength god provides for us god god takes care of us god protects us god keeps us god is good but another aspect of god's goodness is seen in how god forgives us oh god it's a forgiving god hallelujah and what makes his goodness so incredible what makes it so incredible is because we did not deserve it we don't deserve his goodness it's a love it's a goodness that we do not deserve but god is good psalm 145 verse 8 and 9 says the lord is gracious and full of compassion he is slow to anger and he is great in mercy the lord is good too come on the lord is good to all and his tender mercies are over all of his works so the first reason why we give glory to god is we give glory to god because of his mercy all that god is and all that god does is good and i want you to begin to reflect on the goodness of god in your life oh you don't have to think far you don't have to think far you can think just he woke you up this morning and here you are sitting close and in your right mind god is good give them praise hallelujah [Applause] oh the second reason why we are to give glory to god it's right here in the text the psalm says not unto us o lord not unto us but to your name give glory because of your mercy and because of your truth the second reason we ought to give glory to god is because of his faithfulness oh because of his faithfulness this word truth here uh the the hebrew word is ms and it refers to the faithfulness of god and when you look it up if there's a word it's it's stability and that's what the psalmist had in mind as he began to reflect on the goodness to god i'm appearing i'm appealing again i'm appealing again to the non-praises i'm appealing again to the to the non-praises i want you to consider i want you to begin to reflect down through your life of how faithful god is this word uh a truth is is the other word the same word is faithfulness and it relates to the faithfulness of god the meaning of this particular aspect of god's nature is simple you can depend on god oh i'm praising god because i can depend on him i can trust him the this points to the reliability of god and i'm here to tell you saints of god i'm talking now to those who are walking up right before him i'm talking now to the saints who are serving god and the sincerity of your heart and truth you can believe everything that he says oh you can open up this book right here you can read it from cover to cover you can take it to the bank you can deposit it in your account cause i'm here to tell you you can depend on god he said not one jot or one tittle of my word will pass away but you can depend on god and so the psalmist begins to reflect he begins to reflect on the faithfulness of god and how reliable god has been pastor i begin to think about how good god has been even in the life of this church oh i remember when we were at the school god was reliable i remember how god blessed us and how he helped us and god was stable it didn't matter who came it didn't matter who left god has been consistently faithful but i remember as i walked down memory lane how god has been faithful in my life god has kept his word god has kept his promises i remember the faithfulness of god even as it relates to our children and the pregnancy and let me tell you another thing about giving glory to god when god begins to do things don't ever let it be great at all [Applause] no don't let it get old don't no we shall never forget we shall never forget all the great and awesome things that god has done you give glory to god because he's faithful and i'm telling you god is not finicky see some of y'all are finicky up one day down the next in and out but we serve a god who is consistently faithful and that's what i'm basing my praise on if god's been faithful to you lift you up your hands and give them praise [Applause] [Music] all right i still see some people sitting down so let me give you two more reasons why we ought to give glory to god and maybe this can get some of the non-praises to leap up and down on the feet to do something do something with your hands do something with your feet [Applause] all right all right i'ma try all right so first of all you give glory to god because this is mercy secondly we're going to give glory to god because of his faithfulness and i like this one we're going to give glory to god because he is sovereign oh let's look at verse number two and three of our texts the psalmist says why should the gentiles say so where is their god our god is in heaven you remember our pastor preached not long ago there is a god in heaven he does whatever he pleases their idols are silver and gold the work of men's hands they have mouths but they do not speak they have eyes but they cannot see they have ears but they do not hear they have noses but they don't smell they have hands but they do not handle feet they have but they do not walk nor do they mutter through their throat and those who make them are like them so is everyone who trusts in them so the third reason why we are to give glory to god and this is so meaningful to me especially in this spiritual climate see because see if you pay attention to the news and i hope you're not watching the news for for valid reasons but the culture would have you to think that somehow god is not on the throne and see the quicker you get revelation knowledge that the god you serve he's not a god with eyes but can't see he's not a god what he is but cannot hear but he's sitting high on the throne the quicker you get revelation knowledge you won't be so moved by what's going on in this culture our god is sovereign and our god is the true god i want you to listen to what job said write it down in job chapter 42 and 2. job said i know that you can do all things oh saints of god you've got to get to that place where you know beyond any shadow of a doubt and see joe wasn't just talking about head knowledge but here job had gotten to a place where he had experienced god and job had gotten to a place of revelation knowledge and he said god i know that you can do everything oh if you know that god can do everything i dare you to give him a praise right now hallelujah [Applause] i know what's going on in the world today i know the world is shaky and crazy but job says god i know that you can do everything and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted what is the meaning behind this you can take your seats god is right his right his authority and his power is unlimited that's what it means so when i'm giving glory to god when i'm praising god i'm acknowledging that his his might and his power and his authority is unlimited even in my life psalm 97 and 1 says the lord reigns oh put that on the screen for me this morning psalm 97 1 and this underscores the sovereignty of god the lord reigns you need to get that in your spirit oh the lord reigns let the earth rejoice and let the multitude of owls be glad i'm here to tell you in the year 2021 that the lord rings i don't care who's on in government i don't care who's in office i don't care what laws come down to pipeline i'm here to tell you can't nobody veto god can't nobody veto his word because our god reigns and that's what you gotta base your praise on i don't care what's going on in your life i don't care what's going on on your job i don't care what's going on in your family you got to get it down in your mind that the lord raised give him praise [Applause] all right there's still a few folks sitting down but i'm gonna give you this last reason yeah why we're going to give god praise and listen you ain't got to praise them but i tell you i don't need no rocks right now for me because when i think about the goodness of jesus glory [Applause] and all that he's done for me my soul see my praise come down from the inside my soul cries out hallelujah i thank god for saving me give them glory [Applause] [Music] the final reason why we are to give glory to god it's because god has been mindful of us oh god has been mindful of us verse number 12 the psalmist says that the lord has been mindful of us the lord has been mindful of us and he will bless us he will bless the house of israel he will bless the house of aaron what this particular verse uh concept means that god has been mindful of us is that god has taken note of us all that ought to encourage somebody's soul even right there even right there that god sees where you are god sees what you're up against god sees what you're going through god is mindful of us and too often we are reserved in our praise because we think by some chance that god has forgotten about us but god sent me this morning to remind his people god sent me to remind i'm talking about the ones that are walking up right before him i'm talking about the ones who are tithing and giving as it's supposed to be i'm talking about the ones who are being faithful to god faithful to his god god told me to tell you that i am mindful of you in luke chapter 1 verse number 48 mary begin to praise god because she says that he has regarded the lowly state of his maidservant and so what mary was saying is god didn't just simply know her but god understood her condition and i'm here to encourage you saints of god that god understands and he sees your condition oh dear god knows what that quote was like when you got it from the the the builders god is mindful of you god is mindful of your conditions but it didn't just stop there i like that when god is mindful of us when we own his mind that's another word for it that you're on the mind of god the psalmist then says that he will bless you so the reason why i'm praising god i'm praising god because god sees my condition god sees the state and i am god sees what i'm dealing with god sees what i'm going through god's heard the news he he saw the emails when it came to he heard the report and the bible says that he will bless me he will bless me those who fear the lord both small and great so the final reason why we are mindful we are giving glory to god it's because god is mindful of us i'm here to tell you that god has not forgotten about his people look at isaiah chapter 49 isaiah chapter 49 i want to encourage you as i wrap this this teaching up this morning that god has not forgotten you look at your name and say god has not forgotten you come on and say it like you mean it god has not forgotten you now i want you to encourage yourself and say god has not forgotten about me say it to yourself until you believe it god has not forgotten about me i want you to know that god is faithful and god is consistent and in this day and hour god has not forgotten about his people i want you to look at isaiah chapter 49 verse number 14. he says that uh zion has said see you got to be careful about what you say and what you proclaim but we see here that zion is in a different place right now zion is being ruled by zion's emotions and feelings and i'm trying to tell you you can't allow these feelings and thoughts to begin to get down in your soul you've got to be careful about what you release out of your mouth he says his zion has said the lord has forsaken me and the lord has forgotten me and i'm here to tell you that i already know that there's some in here that have felt like god has forgotten me and i'm talking again to those who are walking up right before god let me see the hands of those who are walking up right before god let me see god to the hands of those who are an obedient to his word because see i got a qualifier those are the people that i'm talking to right now those who are who are walking up right before god and you in compliance to his word zion has said that the lord has forgotten me and my lord has forgotten me listen to what god says can a woman forget her nursing child let me see the hands of the moms out there let me see the hands other moms out there can god says can a woman forget her nursing child and not have compassion on the side of her womb as god says surely they may forget yet i will not forget you hallelujah i will not forget you he continues he said i have inspired you on the palm of my hands your walls are continually before me i'm here to tell you child of god god is not a dead be dead he's not a dead big dead i don't care what you're going through but god sent me this morning to tell you he has not forgotten you god heard your prayer god is consistent and he is faithful and you've got to get that down in your mind and that's what you base your praise on if you know that god hasn't forgotten you give them a praise [Applause] hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah all right as i mentioned i'm closing here this particular psalm let's go back to psalm 115 and i'm gary to close psalm 115 as i mentioned earlier psalm 115 uh the structure of this song there's a call to praise there's a call to praise secondly there's a reason for the praise okay there's there's a call to praise and there's a reason for the praise and the reason for the praise is because we have fought in our mind who god is and all that god has done and then finally there's a concluding of praise so then that stings the reason as we close here how do we give glory to god how do we give glory to god the first starting point of giving glory to god is you need to think about his goodness oh that's the starting point of giving glory to god is you need to think about his goodness so i want you to take just a moment because you don't you don't need too much mind and i want you to get you don't need too much time i want you to get on your mind all that god has done for you yeah see she thinking about his goodness i want you to get on your mind so the starting point is you think about his goodness the psalmist said in psalm 107 all that men would give thanks to the lord for his goodness and for his wonderful works to the children of men so as you're learning how to give glory to god it starts with you thinking about his goodness oh you got to think about the ways that he made you got to think about how god healed your body oh how he saved your soul think about how he put your marriage back together oh think about how he kept you employed all of the highways that as you're traveling to and from work he's kept kept the cars from getting it delaying and knocking you off and telling us you don't have no accident oh think about how god saves you cleans you up and redeemed you gave you a new name made you righteous put your name in the lamb's book of life you have to think about his goodness and there's some people that still sitting down in their seats but you haven't thought hard and long enough about the goodness of god but see i think about his goodness and all that he's done for me that i'm sitting close and in my right mind i'm thinking that i ate today hallelujah i'm breathing let everything that has breath praise the name of the lord hallelujah [Music] so you start thinking about his goodness oh and once you start thinking about his goodness and how he has just kept you how he has blessed you he hasn't rewarded us according to what our sins deserve you begin to think about his goodness and next thing you do after you've thought about his goodness there's a natural reaction that takes place so you can't think about his goodness and just go like this no you ain't thinking about his goodness so just go like this no no no no but see there's a there's a there's something that just happens it just happens once you begin to think about the goodness of god and so they're thinking about his goodness is the starting point but the next thing that happens is you got to open up your mouth [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah you got it so the next thing you got to do is you got to open up your mouth and you got to say something hebrews 13 and 15 says therefore by him let us continually offer the sacrifices of praise to god and what is the sacrifices of praise that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name so as you begin to think about the goodness of god the very next thing that happens it's a it's an automatic response see see when you oh the shouting of giving glory is an automatic response is you open up your mouth and you say something psalm 34 and 1 says i will bless the lord at all times his praise shall do what be in my mouth so i want you to think about the goodness of god and all that he's done for you and i want you to open up your mouth and i want you to give him glory hallelujah [Music] i'm going to my seat i'm going to go to my seat but you got to learn how to open up your mouth and give them glory you got to open up your mouth and learn how to say hallelujah god you're worthy god i praise you god i glorify you god i bless you god i will worship you so it starts in the mind and i'm going to go to my seat it starts in the mind it starts in the mind as you begin to think about the goodness of god it starts in the mind as you begin to think about how good god is and you begin to think about his faithfulness in your life and you begin to think about his mercy in your life and it starts with thinking about but then it moves to are you opening up your mouth for the final way that we learn how to give god glory and see this may be a little uncomfortable for you non-praises but see when you begin to think about the goodness of god you are like david he began to dance out of his clothes and david said i don't care that i'm a king i don't care how crazy this looks i'm gonna dance and give god gloat hallelujah give him praise [Music] all right i'ma read one verse and i'ma sit down you can stay seated this is the final way you got to give them glory psalm chapter 149 verse one to three if you can put it on the screen really quick so it starts with a thought then you gotta open up your body you gotta open up your mouth you gotta say something you gotta say something this is the way he says praise the lord sing to the lord a new song and praise in the assembly of his saints let israel rejoice in their maker let the children of zion be joyful in their king here it is verse number three let them praise him with the dance hallelujah all right i'm a reader verse number three let them praise him with the dance all right y'all ready to practice so the first thing you gotta do you gotta think about his goodness go ahead and think woo go ahead and think about how he's blessed you think about how he's captured next you gotta open up your mouth and say something god we bless your name we glorify you we honor you and it had not been for you god who was on my side god the enemy didn't have his way and i praise you i'm grateful i'm so grateful i'm so grateful i'm so grateful and god i bless you god i love you thank you for being good to me thank you for blessing me thank you for keeping me hallelujah hallelujah i've thought about it i've opened up my mouth the last thing i got to do is brace him in a dance [Music] listen [Music] do something up and down [Music] thank you for keeping me thank you for blessing me thank you for giving me hallelujah [Music] [Applause] uh [Music] [Music] now's your chance hallelujah what a word what a word oh come on do something with your feet hallelujah hey amen amen amen go ahead and praise him if you're gonna praise him hallelujah hallelujah think about it say something about it and then dance about it hallelujah hey praise him for his mercy his faithfulness thank you lord thank you lord hallelujah thank you thank you come on show america that there's still some people who love god come on down and give them some praise serve what a powerful word what a move of god thank you lord thank you lord think about it talk about it then dance about it amen that's the order of praise right there since the roger said think about it talk about it but then dance about it thank you lord jesus praise him because of his mercies [Music] praise him for his faithfulness [Music] praise him for his goodness towards men let everything that have breath [Music] praise ye the lord amen how you gonna deal with this culture with your praise with your adoration hallelujah with thanksgiving knowing that he'll supply all your needs according to his riches and glory hallelujah thank you lord also we glorify you bob we glory fighting we glorify you [Music] p flat yeah b flat minor okay yeah yeah hallelujah [Music] since y'all in that key go to the major four it says consume it fine sweet [Music] this is holy ground [Music] holy ground i wish i had a praise seem to help me out say this hey holy ground come on and [Music] so come and bow down thank you jesus [Music] [Music] [Music] come on and bow down [Music] [Music] come on where the worshipers at come on say bow down [Music] oh [Music] we need worship in times like these come on say bye [Music] now [Music] cause there's safety from this world when i enter your presence oh come on boys come on say it one last time jerk a sweet perfume [Music] [Music] come on let's go home with a big ladies [Music] i wish i had somebody that would lift their hands and say this is [Music] [Applause] so come [Music] glorify him magnify him honor him adorn him she is worthy of our praise what a word what a word and what a word amen and what a mighty god who used sister rogers first lady so valiantly this morning hallelujah and what i heard while we were worshiping is i was saying god is doing something but then i heard coming out of my spirit that the yoke is destroyed because of the anointing that's what i heard coming out of my spirit the yoke is destroyed i don't know what yoke has been on people amen i know this culture is a yoke but the yoke is destroyed because of the anointing family i can't say it enough learn how to tap in amen i'm glad to see some worshipers and praises i heard sister rogers i was looking this way and i i i didn't see everybody behind me but i kept heard her saying well let me say this for the non-appraisers and i got to tell you something there is no legitimate reason today for you to be a non-praiser watch this wait a minute stop clapping for a second everybody here that died of covet raise your hand i said everybody that died i didn't say if you ever got it i said if you died delta coveted raise your hand are y'all in here is that all right now there's a graveyard about 700 feet that way yeah right if i went out there and said that i'd get some hand raisers y'all we have no legitimate reasons to be a non-profit and why would he use such a harsh example because it's in the bible y'all put psalm 115 17 on the screen no you need to start getting this this is important because jesus said if you don't praise me the rocks would cry out now not only would the rocks cry out but they'll cry out for a reason because evidently you're dead that's what the bible says bible said in psalm 15 17 it said the dead do not praise the lord that's the only reason you got to not praise me you're dead don't come telling me it's a black thing a white thing a hispanic thing let everything every thing that have breath do what [Music] and i get it because you would say well pastor some people in here they're alive so that scripture must not be accurate there are two different types of deaths you can be breathing and still be dead [Applause] you're spiritually dead have no intuition have no insight i know what that's like i i dare i can relate i know what it's like to be preaching something so poignant and accurate and looking at people and and they just for reasons to praise them we hadn't got the one that fit you yet i don't understand that y'all but evidently according to scripture you're dead there is death that is cessation where your physical body is dead that's the one we can most relate to because you can see that you go to a funeral home they're obviously dead but god you can be spiritually dead you can be so unattached so unattuned yeah i'm pastor so let me play on that a little bit how come i can depend on karina to dance reggie gonna shout come on canda's probably gonna dance but everybody look at your neighbor and just say but what's wrong with you though do you has god done anything for you is it like just 10 people in here oh dear i hope i'm not messing up your message it was so good i hope i didn't just come and pour saw it all over a good meal you ever had a good piece of steak and put too much salt on it i hope the pastor didn't put too much salt on it everybody reach up your hand and give god glory in this prayer and get off of that non-praising spirit what's wrong with you hallelujah open up your mouth and say something if god has done anything hallelujah thank you lord amen because only the dead [Applause] [Music] only dead don't pray hey man look around you now see who's dead because the only person not praising right now are dead people let me let me see who's dead forget about who's alive where the dead people at cause we need to bury you yeah we need to get you out we need live here amen hallelujah [Music] because praise must have meant something if it was in scripture the moabitess ammonites got beat by judah because judah knew how wait a minute before you clap what if your next job open door breakthrough health healing was contingent upon how you responded to sister roger's message and then she preached for 45 minutes and you missed it the whole time what if that was what god was using to get you in what what if that was the word that was gonna break you through amen [Music] is hallelujah not right i'm looking at all my praise and worship leaders in the church and you know they work too hard but come on is there anybody in here that if kim doesn't show up if camera doesn't show up you show up with some lighter fluid in some masses of your own and and you know how to give god glory when it's time to give them glue hallelujah thank you all now that's it that's enough for that the woman of god has preached but god i'm telling you reactions matter the only reason why y'all listen zacchaeus the short man rich man in scripture he was a non-believer the only reason why he got saved and is in heaven today is he knew how to react when jesus was in time he climbed a tree and jesus said if that man is that urgent he said look here's here zacchaeus i'm coming to your house cause you know how to react when i'm in town and you better start learning how to react when jesus is in town well i got good news jesus is in town somebody react like he's here thank you lord only reason why he got saved because he knew how to react when jesus was in time all right that's enough what a word dear what a word what a word my god my god that was a word of edification we need those words if you're here today and you don't know jesus come on down we're getting removed out of here that was so powerful and profound god's people need those amen amen you're here you don't know jesus come on down we getting ready to turn this thing over go into our morning offering amen did sister rogers preach to you today amen amen amen amen and it's something you can't fake that's what i love about praise you know out of the abundance of the heart what happens next now the mouth's gonna start speaking amen somebody say it's got to be in me it's got to be in me it's got to be in me amen but what a word if you're here you don't know jesus come on down we get you born again if you're here and you want the holy ghost you don't have the holy ghost come on down you can be filled this morning with the holy spirit and and fire amen come on down and god will do all of that for you if none of those categories are here this morning are you edified are you ready to face another week is that right what a word praise god it is you
