Gifts & Ministries of the Holy Spirit 7 - The Charisma part 2 ~ Dr. Lester Sumrall

yes you do you're beautiful class god bless you we appreciate you and we're studying the phenomenon of us the trigger that can explode the greatest revival in the history of humanity the gifts of the Holy Ghost that in the function of these gifts we can change the world and so we began very slowly and cautiously and if you'd turn to lesson two which begins on verse 10 we're studying the appropriate meanings of the word charisma right now more people talking about charisma than anything else in the world and they even say baseball players have charisma those that missed the ball don't have any and our our local team didn't have too much yesterday they missed the ball but in the world of the Spirit charisma has to do with these dynamic gifts coming forth from the Holy Spirit who brings them forth from the son and the father and so we are dealing with the supernatural and also we're dealing with a sovereign will of God you do not turn gifts on it off like a spigot it's your faucet and when you think you can you're gonna miss them because in the moment you think you can function them on your own you won't be able to do it so we're dealing with the supernatural under the direction of the holy spirit because it says as he wills speaking of the Holy Spirit we don't with this first page here and I especially like the reading that there is there only page 10 it says as every man have to receive the gift minister the same there be millions of people standing before the judgment seat of Christ and that they receive something special from God and they hid it in that brain their personality of somewhere and it never blessed anybody else there are so many secret disciples hiding behind bushes until I'm sure God gets angry at you it's not time to be a secret follower it's a time to be a dynamic disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ now on page 11 at the top it says that what we're dealing with here is prophetic now that changes it all together if you're dealing with something that's a basic fundamental statement of truth that's what that's one thing and it is a good thing it might call it harsh historic truth but if you are dealing with a prophetic situation then you better have a little bit to look at it the gifts of the Spirit and the operation the gifts of the Spirit are not accidental today this last week I spoke in the country of Portugal a young man and we'll have him come here to see you and it's only been five years in that country his father was a military man and Mozambique when the Civil War came they the Portuguese were defeated and the natives took over the country and they went into South Africa and there he heard about this blessing of the Holy Spirit God told him to go back to Portugal a country that had never had a revival in its history and the five years time 1% of the whole population belongs to his church I doubt that it's ever been done in history before he has over 100,000 members in his church yeah and and you're there and you keep your mouth of them all the time you have to watch the Flies it is so astounding to think that in five years one person one man had the faith we've been in Japan 150 years we still don't have one percent of that nation totally with all Christians Catholics and Protestants we don't have one percent of that nation that's signed up with Jesus yet and in this country that has had no Luther revival no Wesley revival no revival in history did they get a taste of suddenly you have to believe it's prophetic you just have to believe it's prophetic and they do the strangest things he has 12 big churches around the the city there and I mean church buildings and he he brings in his assistants associates every Wednesday and just that group of men in an office they sing they shout they speak in tongues they plan for the next week they give an account of how many were saved how much finances came in they pay cash for everything there were nobody anything if a building is two million dollars they take the two million down handed over because when you get a hundred thousand people paying ties you're not doing bad I know you don't like that so I'll say it again gods allows a stingy Christians in this country we'll meet the mighty judge whose eyes are like bowls of fire and he'll say you're just like Adam you took what belonged to me and had your poor excuses just like he did when he blamed it on his wife who you're going to blame it on are you here you better never stand before God and debt to God are you going to be a miserable creature and you better believe that and it don't matter about your excuses you say I'm poor the devil is going to keep you that way so you better break out of it can you say Amen but in a whole day those men frame what they want God to do in the next week in the next month and it comes to pass over there it is coming to pass over there it does prophetic yet that is not normal that is not natural for a country like that he has to fight the government almost every day of his life because he it's a phenomenal they've just completed a structure that seats 9,000 people the the government said you cannot we were never permitted and it went out there and here was a great canvas cathedral ceiling 9,000 and they said we told you you couldn't build here says we hadn't built anything we moved this in a day we want to some people are clever and others of us we just waddle along but they're they're worshipping I preached the first Sunday at the first the first meeting in it so it was very exciting it's a top of page 11 I just want you to know that what we're dealing with now is not normal regular religions we're dealing with a prophetic thing that God Himself said in acts 2:17 in the last days saith God God God as a father in the last he said I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh these are the last days and the Spirit is being out poured you can drink as much of the spirit as you want it's your desire but at the amount of your personnel has taken up with natural things as amount of your personalities are not given over to to supernatural things and if your complete consumes the natural then you don't have any of the supernatural you'll see it says that the only way that fulfillment of jewel 228 could possibly happen is for the diversification to take place in the body of Christ which is the church to retain the move of the Spirit and one denomination group would be to eliminate the largest portion of the church therefore God sent the Holy Spirit into every major denomination on the face of the earth there isn't no denomination that hasn't had a touch of this the whole great phenomena of England began in the Episcopal Church pastor body that our brother from name TB Barrett from Norway in he received the holiest children received the Holy Spirit first then he hid his wife received the Holy Spirit that here comes Smith Wigglesworth to receive and then here comes Howard Carter and John Carter and and here come the men that God used and that part of the world very very strong you see so God used the Episcopal Church in Ethiopia the strongest church there is a Salutin church more full of the Holy Spirit that maybe anything you've ever seen in your life and so all over the face of the earth God has not given a lot of tension to the little badges you wear God's not a badge of God yeah that's the CIO Union you're thinking about God is not a badge recognizer he recognizes a spirit what are you on the inside some of us were false badges we say Oh weird this we belong to this church God says you don't have the essence of what's in that church so badges don't count but Jesus does and so let's be sure that we have every major denominations had a taste of this some refuses some some some rejected it some fought it but those that accepted it became part of this prophetic outpouring of the Spirit this this this this thing that we call charisma and charismatic and so every major denominational earth has had a touch of it we could go through all of them and show it to you the work of the Holy Spirit can be seen whether it's in the Catholic Church they had their headquarters here for a number of years called charismatic Catholics the Episcopalians and they've had a beginning in Seattle Washington and going all over America and other countries of the world they they have had an outpouring of God's Spirit the Lutheran people they have had mighty outpourings of the Spirit we have spoken some of their groups and so forth and and they they have had it the the ones who run these organizations they possibly don't have it but though they're there those fringe benefits that God gets how many glad that God even gets a fringe benefit yeah they don't get it all but he gets some of it he's mighty glad for what he does get and the Baptist's of the Methodists and so forth that this was the only means to ensure that the blessing would reach the total world population and so this prophetic revival in the last days has to do with the total body of Christ not with a segment there's nobody that can build a wall around and say hey I got it all how many glad for that the Republicans would like to buy it but the Democrats won't let them you see it's not for a group the blessings of God for everybody say everybody now know you got to know that you you made look at someone of another denomination say hey you don't have what I have they can't have it because the God that gave it to you will give it to them and that he don't read badges very well and and so he wants us all to to have this and he wants to survival to reach the total world population I am simply amazed I was in Czechoslovakia this week and they're very remarkable nation the checks are there made up of two nationalities the Czechs and the Slovaks and maybe you don't know it that half the countries in the world have been created since World War one they're not you and and and and and so we we don't did you know the oldest democracies in the world happens to be where you're sitting on that seat right here where you are now is the oldest democracy on the face of the earth and we think we're young and so the world has been in a remarkable change so since substance World War one and and throughout this great world that we live in today God just keeps jumping over over we had a tremendous meeting in Prague big the capital city one of the most delightful meeting you said you you could really ever have you know you're here these people that have been on the slaver to communism four generation they have emerged out of that slavery and they have emerged out of that persecution that preachers are now not in jail anymore and-and-and and they're free and you say well who are they well III would say that ninety percent of them are under twenty five years old are you here now this survivors the same all over the face of the earth it's a young people's revival now the old people are welcome they just slow like molasses they pour they just pour slow how many glad we still wait for them yeah that's waiting for me you know anyway what God wants to do in these last days that's poured a spirit upon all flesh now that means you and it means these people all over the face of the earth we're all part of it how many look prophecy do you love prophecy I'm glad you're a part of what God is doing in this age you know some people belong to a church that God hadn't visited them in the last hundred years what you want to go to a cemetery for you know why don't you get in what gods are doing today you say I'm afraid of it get figure out of it this thing works it works beautifully can you say men and your part number three is the global aspect of this that we were just functioning with the charismatic move of God is the hope say hope I believe this it sure is you're in this auditorium at this moment the world is getting ready for a world church under the Antichrist that they're moving toward it's so fast until you can't and may you just can't hardly imagine it that this religious world that they're moving closer together in the highest circles of their of their bureaucracies to create a world church that will eliminate God's people completely because they won't fit into the thing but they're getting they're getting ready for it and God's getting ready for two by pouring out his spirit upon all flesh and giving the amazing amazing a gifts of the Holy Ghost the nine gifts of the holy spirit the word of wisdom which represents tomorrow God revealed in the future supernaturally the word of knowledge revealing something far from where you were sitting and you can't hear it now see it but God reveals it to you knowledge as a fact so it deals with the fact and the discerning a spiritual which will become one of the greatest one of the greatest gifts of all time the time will come there be no hypocrites in the pulpits of our world the gifts of the Spirit will reveal exactly what they are and what they have done you know William Branham a real man of God he his doctrines weren't too hot but he knew God he was in South Africa and a member of his team had fallen in love with a woman down there and he was in his room praying and God spoke to him and says you want to know what your helpers doing right now and he said yeah he says he's upstairs in his room number so-and-so and he's in there with a local woman committing adultery right now says get on up there he went up in that just what God showed him was true he didn't fire him in America fired him an African made him find his own way home I hope you made it through the Sharks but you see that moments coming for the whole body of Christ that we're going to eliminate hypocritical attitudes in the body and in the pulpit how many were glad for that this is a world for true sincerity let us all live in glass houses so everybody can see straight through us how many glad for that you know Jesus was a person of truth the Holy Ghost is a person of truth and the gifts of the Spirit are gonna make truth prevail what a wonderful supernatural thing it is going it is going to be under your point number three there well one group of Christians are handling handing out propaganda that God is dead and that miracles are not for today that speaking in tongues has all concluded and ended finished itself at the first center of the church there is an army of spirit filled believers from every denominational background and they are marching they're marching toward the glorious return of our Lord and Savior from heaven and accompanying those people you might say dominating those people will be the charismatic gifts of the move of God on the face of this earth just before Jesus terminates the church period returns to the Jewish period god never deals now listen carefully I heard so many people I've done it this week again you know someone says what we're going to do the bring the Jews or the Christians together what for well what do you mean I said when a man becomes a Christian he's not a German anymore and he's not a Jew anymore he's not a Russian anymore he belongs to the body of Christ you're not called to bring something together you're called to get him reborn get him into the kingdom but all the world wants to do is get people together one friend of mine was going to go to Jerusalem with a great group of people and he was going to march for them and one of the Jewish celebrations and I said well what for sir what for oh he said unity I said unity I said the unit is in the blood of Jesus not marching to a concrete Street that's not unit you're walking through the street with some guy with long twigs hanging down the side you know the big ol hat on looks like a bear that that don't bring unity unity is of the spirit you and I are one today because we believe the same thing we live the same thing we we're part of the same thing and that brings us into a conjunction to where we flew together not with a brain we're blood brothers but of Jesus and all the people said so this thing is working it is happening before our eyes and it's for everybody on the face of there the charismatic move of God is for everybody everywhere living right now you're number four it says the church must face this challenge if you want to write something in the front of your Bible write this down 99 percent maybe more of all Christians never proceeded further than their first and initial experience in God my mama was a Lutheran my papa was a Lutheran I can't promise anticipate a great compromise a Baptist so I am what they are oh why don't you dress like they dress you'd really be a freak won't you ride around like a horse and buggy that make you pretty make three miles an hour you wouldn't get a ticket for that you're still here they're progressive and everything except what God wants it to be progressive is and that's in the things of the Holy Ghost and all the people said the church must face the issues of this moment right now one of the great dangers facing the modern church is that it will become one great referral station out now we have them listed there and they're tremendous and the whole church in this nation is guilty of what I'm going to tell you that if we find a person who is an alcoholic we don't believe the church can do anything about it you know so we refer that person to Alcoholics Anonymous and whether it's anonymous to only Jesus Christ can take the desire of alcohol out of you forever big do it but the church is a referral session all the churches in this city are I just want to tell you something right now I don't refer anybody to anybody I just used Jesus myself and we tackle any kind of job you lay it you mention it and we go after it but we don't believe the church is a referral station we believe the church is the body Church of the Living God that can do anything if we have a personally that's emotionally distracted a distraught we immediately refer them to our second psychiatrist and said what can you do about it now the psychiatrist has been trained in the area of the soul and the body he's never received training in the spirit of man you don't have a key to that door because you had to be born again to get the key and so he's working around in the room and there's a door but he can't get in you don't have a key for it but we do we have the key to distraught persons that we can bring them through to a new life in God you possibly don't even need someone to lay hands on you you just need to listen to faith being preached from the pulpit and it takes a hold of you and you become powerful and strong in the faith by what you hear from the 12 it very few people would ever need counseling if their listen to what's being said but rather than listening you're sitting there figuring out how am I going to get him and a Crone and get to talk to him you're not going to get him in a car number one so you better listen to the Holy Ghost and you get it right there because after all man is not your answer but the Holy Ghost is your answer wrong source so we refer all domestic problems between husbands and license or for two psychologists counseling clinics and attorneys and so forth when Christ is the answer Christ is the answer they're not the answer they prostate got the same problems you have the guy you're talking to has already been divorced couple times and you're trying to help them to solve you from getting one you'll encourage you the wrong way so we refer encourage of teenagers and even younger than that to a house of correction rather to end of Jesus and we refer the mentally unbalanced to an asylum rather than laying hands on them and casting out evil that they might be healed what God wants us to do today what the Holy Spirit wants us to do is to get into the move of God which is like a turbulent stream beginning in the throne of God and flowing right down past us get into those of living waters and the key to all of it is the gifts of the Holy Ghost there's only one problem we hear this or thy ears but on Monday we don't act on it if we're gonna give ourselves to the move of the gifts of the Spirit we're gonna have to think about it more pray about it more live about it more and as we do this thing's going to come alive in us and be willing to accept any beginning fragment you get a little of it more can come can you say Amen when I began to speak in tongues only had about three words I got something out about it didn't know what to do and finally and this distress I was in distress I went to pray about it and there came a volume of it flowing a part of me sometimes great things come during your moments of distress but you don't know what to do yourself God says I can help you with that he gives you waters to ride on well hallelujah water Sariah what is the stream in some of you've missed around and one eats water long enough it's time to get out there where you can move and the fullness of the Almighty God wants to bless this world you say broke the summer off what's wrong with our country our country will go down in history as a country that lusted for the things of the flesh more than maybe any in the history of the world two-thirds of the stuff that you have in your house you could get along better without them because they're in the way now you drive any four or five blocks in this city and they got a garage sale you say why the house is loaded so they want to load your house with that junk and they already bought it two weeks ago and you'll be selling it two weeks from now it's about time to seek the Lord in this country and put God first sacrificially we could change the world right now can you say Amen
