sorry I forgot to close my breakfast picture but a little early morning working out hey everyone it is Wednesday June 12th and got a lot going on today here we're officially done planting corn there's two fields we passed on they were just too wet and it's getting too late I've got a couple fields of soybeans to do they are currently planting soybeans as I am recording this and we went over to Winchester Indiana they got a farm over there was gonna run a vertical two over that today but it's still pretty wet over in that area so looks like I'm on a side dress corn a day get started side dress in corn so all the tractors are hooked to something right now so gonna be side dressing with an open station tractor so today I'm gonna get to work on that farmer Stan also they are spraying as I speak and got a lot of spraying done here so anyways yeah we're gonna get set up here start side dressing corn I went up and got some sulfur and so forth yesterday so we're gonna be everything hooked up in go out in a field and here's a little bonus footage of spraying down subordinates the field by planet last week it was when we last year then a cover crop had the sulfur run over it and blended into the cover crop so crops coming uh nice everything looks pretty good and while we're at it a that was Challen with 185 little steer feet in action here and this is possums first time on the video camera so shout out the possum and get to look at some cattle here for a little bit [Music] the winter wheat crops looking pretty good but I should probably do something productive for the rest of the day you know I do these vlogs here and I talked about they and the guys I work with and so forth but they're never on the camera cuz everybody's camera shy so one of these days I'm gonna have to do a video showing you the rest of the crew right back about nine and a half inches whoo we got her so as I said earlier in a video I'm gonna go side dress some corn today so some farms do this differently in this area pretty popular to go into your corn after it's been up for a few weeks and feet in some twenty eight percent nitrogen which is what we're gonna do here some guys using anhydrous ammonia and some guys do put in hydros ammonia on for their nitrogen pre plant we put a little bit of fertilizer down while we're planning and then of course come in here later inside dress this this is a mixture of 28% nitrogen and some sulfur and then another another special blend of fertilizer I cannot tell you exactly what it is because it took Santa's elves thousands of years to perfect it so I'm not allowed to give that secret up but anyways it really makes the corn growth so just got started side dressed in here and you know how it is every time you start something for the year you got your growing pain so I got I don't know maybe 150 feet or so look back and there is nitrogen going everywhere so right here on this pipe nipple it looks like it's yeah rotted out a little bit it's got a pinhole there so anyways Larry's coming to get me and I guess we'll be making a trip to the hardware store I doubt if we have one of those on the truck so yep so two years ago in this very same field I broke this fitting off right here well I didn't break it off personally it broke off I think maybe might have hit a rock with the drive low and it bounced up and then put a shot code on that and sheared it right off and that really that really poured nitrogen out but anyways just waiting on uncle Larry to get here and be fixed up and running in no time anyways had to run in to Greenville Ohio to get the parts we needed here and gonna have some lunch here at the front street in I don't get to eat here very often but this place opens at 5:00 a.m. has breakfast and always has good food okay so should be good to go here yeah you can see the other one there a little bit of corrosion I'd say just a little bit of course then we'll get the applicator so you know what this is gonna look like if I stir up some dust okay let's get back to work [Music] well look what I get to fix I just pulled the rope out of the pump motor [Music] okay was a prep rope around here and get the motor going whoa I fixed the starter part of it you gotta improvise you're on the barbie [Music] [Music] [Music] so anyway the sulfa within that trailer and we're gonna put something in here and then 28 some big white tanks and then mix it all together and put it in the other tanker trailer to take it out to the field and put it in the applicator [Laughter] it's creeping up on 9:00 p.m. so I think I want to call it a day I'm all out of product here in it's gonna be dark soon it's clouding up it's supposed to be raining by morning and tomorrow is only supposed to be a high like 60 degrees and you can feel the cold front coming in so I'm pretty sure percentage of rain is pretty high for tomorrow morning's so anyways was a good day didn't get this field finished but I think it's about 120 acres here normally we have this applicator hooked up to the 71 30 but that's still hooked to the small Kinsey planner as they finish up the soybeans which I think they're about done and hopefully just finish out with this but it sure was a awesome day running an open station tractor it's not something you get to do very much anymore did a lot of it as a kid and I really actually enjoyed it don't know if I want to finish the whole year with it but it was fun so anyways we're gonna call today in stay tuned for my next video and thanks for watching this one
