- So I just used my YouTube Analytics to estimate this channel's revenue. And using that estimate, this channel is earning
over $1,100 per month from their fun simple little videos which I think is pretty cool. Hey everyone, Kia ora, welcome back. Today we're gonna be
talking about a new method to make money online that
just launched this week and that is earning money from ads from YouTube Shorts videos. Yes, as of February 1st, YouTube has launched their
ad partnership program for their mobile videos, YouTube Shorts, which you'll see by scrolling through your YouTube Shorts feed. When YouTube gets paid the
money from the advertisers they are now splitting
this money with creators. And the really cool thing is that super simple
videos on YouTube Shorts can get millions of views. Take this YouTube channel that specializes in YouTube Shorts. They make fun fact list videos. For example this video just
lists the top 10 countries with the largest Hindu population. And as you're gonna see
later on in this video, they created this by just downloading free videos online and then re-uploading
them as this montage. And here's the thing This channel is really new. Social Blade shows us that they only started uploading videos four months ago in September, and by the end of October, they've grown to over 15,000 subscribers, which is pretty cool. But this is just one example. Fun fact channels are super popular, like Take Happy Earth, another YouTube channel specializing in similar
sorts of YouTube Shorts. This fun fact montage video they made here has had over 4 million views. And they don't even re-upload videos. This is just some pictures which they have turned into a montage, which is even easier. Well, within their first month, Social Blade shows us that they got over 26,000 subscribers and over 27 million views. And we can see that in the past 30 days, they've gotten over 20
million fresh views. And you want another example? Check out this YouTube Shorts channel. Top Things World. This simple little video that they've made has had nearly 5 million views. Now, admittedly, this channel took a little bit longer to take off. When they first started
uploading videos nine months ago, they got 1 million views
in their first month but their patience was
rewarded when in September you can see they got
over 11 million views. And so far this month they've gained another 26,000 subscribers and over 15 million views. And honestly, this is
just a tip of the iceberg for channels that are
crushing it using this method. And now these channels have a
new way to earn money online. But of course, you might be thinking, "Okay, Sarah how much money
are they actually making for these 15 million or 20 million views?" Well, I decided to calculate that for you. Earlier today, I hopped
onto my YouTube dashboard to see how much money
YouTube has been paying me for my YouTube Shorts videos. And here is what I discovered. So I just used my YouTube analytics to estimate this channel's revenue. And using that estimate, this channel is earning
over $1,100 per month from their fun simple little videos which I think is pretty cool. Because check this out, so far in in feed bearing I've had 27,500 views on
my YouTube Shorts videos. Well, 54% of those views came
from the YouTube Shorts feed, which means so far I've had 14,850 views from the YouTube Shorts feed. Well, so far I have
earned 81 cents from ads on those videos. So you do the maths, that is
54 cents per 10,000 views. Now I understand that probably seems low, but that's because I make videos
with small niche audiences. Since with YouTube Shorts ad CPMs they're spread
evenly amongst creators, if you make videos which target a broader, bigger audience, like Happy Earth, as you will see, the views and money that you
can earn can scale up fast. Plus it's just the beginning. YouTube have said in
interviews like this one here that they expect CPMs to
increase as the year goes on. So this is just the start. But yes, using the CPM as a start, Happy Earth has had
around 21 million views these past 30 days. well, 21 million views
divided by 10,000, is 2,100. And 2,100 times 54 cents, is $1,100 from these
fun, simple little videos that anyone can create, which I think is pretty neat. So this all sounds really great, right? We can make a bunch of money off of super simple videos, yeah? But there is one catch. There's always a catch, isn't there? And this time, the catch is to earn money with the YouTube Ad program and to be accepted into it, you need to meet some requirements. One, you need to have 1,000 subscribers, and two, you even need
to have 1,000 watch hours on standard YouTube length videos, or you need to have gotten
10 million views in 90 days for your YouTube Shorts videos. Until you remember that
channels like Happy Earth, making super simple image slide videos got over 27 million views
in their first month. It probably took them less than two weeks to meet the
monetization requirements. And as I said before, making your own fun fact videos like that is really easy, as long as you know the right way to find photos and videos that you can re-upload legally. So that's what I'm gonna
show you how to do today. But first, a quick word
from today's sponsor, me. Yes, I am sponsoring my own video to let you know that
if you'd like to learn how I and others earn
passive income every day, you should be sure to download my free $10,000 a month E-book which I'll have a link to in the video description below. But anyway, back to the video. So the first thing we need to do is we need to go and find
some interesting facts. So of course you could just come to Google and do a search for
some interesting facts. Or you could just go to ChatGPT and ask them the question instead, if you're feeling particularly lazy. So does this now mean that I get to retitle my video how to make money with ChatGPT and get millions of views by hopping on this ChatGPT trend? Hmm, I'll have to think about that. But anyway, next up, we need
to find some stock videos and some stock photos that
we can legally download so that we can re-upload them as fun fact video montages. And I've got two websites that I absolutely love for that. The first is Pixabay. You just go ahead and do a search for whatever you want a
video of or a photo of, and then just download
whichever one you like, easy. All of the videos and photos on Pixabay have a free license that lets you reuse them to create your own YouTube videos. And Pexels is another very
similar website that I love. It's got tons of free photos and videos. You just do a search for every you want and then you can download it for free. And Pexels also has a very similar free license to Pixabay, that lets you use their photos and their videos to make
your own YouTube videos. Okay, so next up, let's
get a free voiceover. Now, this is optional. If you listen to Happy Earth Videos, you'll hear that they do use a voiceover, most likely an AI
voiceover in their videos. - [Narrator] Is expected to surpass China as most populated nation, Indian... - Whereas if we listen
to World Top 100s videos, you'll hear that they don't actually use any voiceovers in their videos. (dramatic music playing) So it's up to you. If you do wanna have a
free voiceover though, Big Speak AI is my favorite tool for that. You don't even need to
register for an account, which I personally love. It has a voiceover that's
pretty popular with viewers. It's the UK male voice - [UK Male Voice] Top 10 countries most prone to earthquakes. - All right, so we've
got our free content, now we just need to put it together into a YouTube Shorts video. To do that I'm gonna be using a free video editor, Clip Champ, which you can use from
your internet browser, but you can use whatever
video editor that you like. So I started it out by adding in my clips and selecting to make a mobile video. Next, I then added in my
first clip into the timeline. I cut off some of the clip
length to make it shorter. Then I dragged the
corners of the video out to make the video fill
the size of the screen and I chose the part of the video that I liked the most. Next, I click the text button, and I chose one of the
pre-installed text elements that I liked the most and then I placed it where
I wanted it on the video. Then I typed in my headline text, very simple, very basic, and then I just resized it and I got it looking the way
I wanted it on the screen. And so if we go ahead and
we play the video back, you'll see that the text is
now popping up over the video which is just a nice simple effect that makes it look more professional. After that, I then added in my next clip, and, again, I deleted some of
the clip to make it shorter. And I dragged the clip at the corners so that it would fill the entire screen. And I chose the angle, the part of the video, that I liked the most. And then just like before, I selected the text title and I typed in my text and I placed it where I wanted it. But then I selected transitions and chose from one of the
pre-install transitions and I dragged it to be
in between my two clips. And so now if you play back your video, you'll see that you now
have this fun animation between your pictures or your videos, which helps keep the
view of retention high. And then that was pretty much it. I just went through
and I added more videos and I copied my text,
titles and transitions. The whole thing took about 10 minutes. But don't worry, I'm not gonna bore you by showing you the entire process from start to finish. But here is what I ultimately created. Now, you might be thinking to yourself, "Why is YouTube paying so much money for these super simple videos like this?" And the answer is that
they're trying to compete with other mobile video platforms, like TikTok and Instagram Reels. And the way that YouTube
is competing with them is by offering higher payouts than those other platforms
to help poach creators over to their platform. And so that is why they're
paying out so much money for these super simple videos. But yes, once I'd finished
creating this video, I just clicked the export button and chose 1080p for my video quality. And boom, I was done. And so now that we've got our video, it's time to upload it. And the easiest way to upload a YouTube
Shorts video to YouTube is through your mobile phone. So go ahead and save
your video to your phone and then open up YouTube on it and click the plus button and select to create a short. Change it to be 60 seconds long and then select the little
clip box in the corner and choose the video that
you just saved to your phone and click done. And then just let YouTube
process the clip for you. And once it is processed, from the video editing options choose to add an audio track. And you'll now be able to choose to add a song
to your video for free, which is pretty cool. And then you just need to
give your video a title and then click to upload. And just like, that you have started your own
YouTube Shorts side hustle. Yay. So then, did my video inspire you? If it did, please subscribe and click that little notification bell so that you don't miss out on any of my uploads
about making money online. (gentle music playing)
