- When I saw this, I
thought wow, they're making up to and over a thousand dollars a day from these super simple
videos, that is crazy. Hey everyone, and welcome back. So recently I shared in
a YouTube Shorts video, a passive income opportunity
that I think is really easy to do here on YouTube. And yet, even though it's
really easy, amazingly almost nobody is doing it,
which is just baffling to me. So I'm gonna show you what it is in case you are interested in it. So I'm gonna show you
step by step how to create simple little sound clip
videos like this one here, which are earning people
hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands of
dollars a month passively without having to show
their face or even talk, which I think is pretty cool. And so even though I've already talked about this in my YouTube shorts video, whenever I make a video like that I always get a request for a
full length tutorial video. So this is that video. And even better, I'm gonna
share with you a money trick that I did not discuss in my
shorts video so that you can earn cash from these easy
videos in two different ways. Because yes, obviously
YouTube videos can earn money through YouTube ads, but
using this money trick you're gonna be able to
earn money in additional way which not only can potentially
double your profits, but it can earn money very fast. Yep, but first, let's take
a look at the channels that are doing this and
earning money right now. So here's a classic example
of a channel doing this. If you check out their
most popular videos, you'll see quite a wide range. You've got videos like this
one here of a police siren, and videos like this one here
of a guy being out of breath. And if we check out this
channel on Social Blade, you'll see that it estimates
that this channel earns between 500 dollars to
nearly 10,000 dollars a month from YouTube ads. And that's actually pretty incredible, because if we check out their channel, you'll see that they
usually now only upload one to two times a year. So they're really now just
collecting monthly paychecks from videos that they
uploaded 10 years ago. And check out this channel here, it's even bigger with nearly
a million subscribers. And if we come over to Social Blade you'll see that it estimates
that this channel earns between 2,000 dollars to
over 30,000 dollars a month from YouTube ads. When I saw this, I thought
wow, they're making up to and over a thousand dollars a day from these super simple
videos, that is crazy. If we sort by their most popular videos you'll see a big mix of
videos which have done well, including video game sound
effects and music sound effects. They've also collected a
lot of YouTube meme sounds like this one here, which
commonly gets played as part of a YouTube video parody. And this sound effect here,
which often gets played if a YouTuber is supposed
to be doing something sneaky in a video. And something else that I
think is also good to note is that this channel
along with the channel we looked at previously
has a verified tick next to their name, which I also have. Well, what this means is that
an actual human from YouTube has gone through and
audited our YouTube channels and confirmed that our videos aren't breaking the community
guideline standards, which means then that their
basic sound clip videos passed this YouTube video audit, yay. So I really, really wanted to show you this YouTube channel here. Now, sadly, because of the
fact that it's required that you be active and this
channel hasn't been active in over four years, it has lost its verified
channel check mark, but they probably don't mind because Social Blade
estimates that they've made between 700 dollars to nearly
12,000 dollars last month in passive income from
YouTube on a channel that they haven't uploaded
to in over four years. And so I'm sure that whenever
they see another YouTuber making a video, saying that
passive income doesn't exist, they just laugh and wipe
away their laughter tears with all of their ads in dollars. But the real reason why I
point out this channel is because they have done
something very smart. They have made mashup videos. So for example, instead of
just sharing a sound clip of a dog barking,
they've combined multiple dog barking sounds together
to create a mashup video. By doing this, they have
transformed the original purpose of the sound effects and
thus transforms their video into something new, so I'll show you. (dogs barking) Now this is smart for two reasons. The first reason is that the
video is not just now sharing sound clips, but it has another purpose. It is showing the contrast
between different dog breeds as they bark, and this is
gonna become important shortly. But secondly, it's smart because
it makes the video longer so you get less comments
like the other channels do, lamenting that somebody had
to watch an ad just to watch a two second video. So you earn passive income while providing a better
user experience, yay. And speaking of passive income, that brings me to today's sponsor, me. Yes, I am sponsoring my own video. I'm sponsoring it to let you
know that if you'd like to learn how I and others earn
passive income every day through another method of selling
automated products online, you should be sure to
download my free 10,000 dollar a month ebook, which I'll have a link to in the video description. Alright, sponsor over, back to the video. Now I want you to keep that
whole mashup thing in mind as we now find free sound clips
that we can copy, download, and turn into basic
sound clip videos, yay, because I completely understand
that not everybody wants to have to record their own sound clips. Although if you did want to,
it's actually pretty simple. For example, I saw a basic
blender sound clip video on YouTube that got over 2 million views. Well, recording something like
this yourself is pretty easy. You just use your phone as a microphone and turn on your blender, done. But if you don't feel like doing that, here are some ways that you
can find free sound clips that you can copy and download online. The first is to sign
into your YouTube account and go to your admin dashboard
area where you'll be able to access YouTube's audio library which has a huge range of
royalty free sound clips that you are allowed to use in videos. The terms of use state that
you can't just download the audio files and then
re-upload them to the internet as is, but as long as it's included inside of a YouTube video, that is royalty free. Another website that you can
find royalty free sound clips on is Pixabay. Here you can come to their
sound effects section and then do a search for whatever
sound effect that you like, and then you can go ahead
and download it for free. If you haven't heard about Pixabay before, you could think of it
like a big digital library for content creators such as YouTubers. It's a big audio library
where other very generous content creators have
uploaded their pictures, their videos, their sound
effects, their music, and given them a royalty
free license so that other content creators like us can use them for free in our content. The Pixabay rules are really generous. You're allowed to use these sound effects for commercial purposes. What you're not allowed to
do though is just download it and then re-upload it
as is and distribute it without changing it. So us combining multiple
sound effects with pictures to create a mashup video
would be us transforming them into something new rather than
just uploading them as is. You can also use Pixabay
to find free sound effects by looking through their free videos, because some of their
videos have audio included. And so if I wanted to have
a sound clip of a bird, then I could look for
bird videos and find ones that have audio, like this one here. All I'd need to do is download the video and then put it into a video editor and separate the visuals
from the audio track, and then use the section of
the audio that has the bit of the sound that I wanted
to include in my mashup. Pexels is another website
very similar to Pixabay. They don't have a sound effect section but they do have a big
library of free videos. And just like with Pixabay, some of them have audio included. Now, all of these methods
to get sound clips should be absolutely fine legally because
we are using sound clips which explicitly have
a royalty free license. Although I should note
something, I am not a lawyer, so please don't take anything I say as a replacement for a lawyer
or as actual legal advice. So with that in mind, let
me show you another method that people use and this method
is a lot more controversial. So take this TikTok video
of a parrot chirping. Now, unless it is otherwise stated, TikTok videos have copyright and so you're not just allowed to download and re-upload TikTok
videos without permission. The exception is if you are
using copyrighted material to create something that
falls under fair use. This is when you use
copyrighted material to create something which would
meet the legal threshold of being transformative. Many people believe that mashup
videos meet this definition because of the fact that
you're creating a very different video from the original. So what people do is they come
to a TikTok video downloader and put in the URL of the
video they want to use the audio from and then
select to save the MP3. Then they just put it into a video editor, remove the visuals and
edit it to only include the little sound bites that
they wanted from the video. I'm not a lawyer though,
and so I can't weigh in over the legalities of this
more controversial method. But regardless, once you
have your sound clips, we can create our basic sound
clip videos for free, yay. So for this example tutorial I have used this free video editing app, Clipchamp. Clipchamp is free and easy to
use with your internet browser which is why I chose to
use it since I know a lot of people watching this
are on a limited budget, although you could use
any video editing software that you like. Because mashup videos let you
not just share sound clips, but share them in a way
that is transformative and more interesting for the viewer, that is why I would
choose to focus on these in these sorts of sound clip channels. So for this tutorial,
I've gone ahead and made a mashup video showcasing
different bird sounds to contrast how different they are. For each different bird sound that I used, I also included a royalty
free picture for each bird that I downloaded from
Pixabay to use as the visuals. Plus I added in a text
title into it stating which breed of bird each sound belongs to. It was super easy to make. So let's watch a little
bit of it together. (birds squawking) (birds chirping) See, super easy. So now let's earn fast money from our easy sound clip videos. So obviously one way that
you can earn money is you can upload your videos to YouTube and earn money from YouTube ads. As we've established, this
is earning channels anywhere from hundreds of dollars to
tens of thousands of dollars a month in passive income,
which is pretty cool. The thing though is that to
start getting paid for those ads you need to have at least
a thousand subscribers. There's also a watch time
requirement although you usually easily meet that once you
have 8,000 subscribers. But that all takes time right? And so if you want to
earn free money right now, without having to wait for YouTube ads, join the Epidemic Sound Referral Program. Epidemic Sound is a popular
subscription service for content creators and YouTubers
to get royalty free music and sound effects for their videos. And so I'm actually a
customer and I love it. Well, referral programs like
theirs can be a great way to potentially double the
cash that your videos make. For example, in the last
month, I made nearly 40,000 New Zealand Dollars
from my YouTube ads, which is around 24,000 US Dollars as of me making this video. But I also made nearly
as much for my affiliate referral program commissions
which effectively has doubled the money that I've earned. My method is simple. In my videos, I recommend apps
that I love such as Canva, and then in my video description I include the referral link. Each time that somebody goes
and clicks on the referral link in the video description
and then goes and purchases a Canva account, I get paid a commission. Well, after you've referred
12 people to Epidemic Sound you'll then become a part of
their free ambassador program which means they will not only
give you a free subscription to their service, but they
will pay you 50 percent commissions for up to a year for each customer that you refer to them. That means that you can
earn up to 90 US Dollars per customer that you refer. And so when you're making
your easy sound clip videos just add a bit of text
onto it telling people that if they want more free sound effects, that they can go to your video description and get a free trial for Epidemic Sound. And then when people click
on your referral link, get a free trial, absolutely
love the service like I do and then purchase a paid plan, you will earn free
commissions immediately, yay. So then, did my video inspire you? If it did, please subscribe
