Easily one of the best senses of humour in music. Guy goes on Eric Idle and the late Neil Innes's show, shows up in sketches as a pirate demanding to be in the "Pirate sketch", and then when he finally plays, he plays the first few bars of "My Sweet Lord", and launches into a different song about pirates.

Not to mention not only supporting Idle and Innes's Beatles parody, but appearing in it, and also funding and appearing in Monty Python's Life of Brian because he just wanted to see it.

I think he wanted to make a corny pop song. He nails it, two phrases, a catchy beat. Went #1

This song reminds me of my son, who was close to a year old when the song came out..he used to bounce on his little legs while holding on to the couch when it played on the radio. He's 33 now, and living a tough life right now because he made wrong choices...but I see my little boy in my mind dancing to this song whenever I hear it, wishing I could give him a hug
