Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Freaking great video were both sides get their say and get their points in. Its nice to have a discussion like this.
Jordan Peterson - Made cogent and sound arguments about the dangers of the proposed legislation.
Transwoman - Provided an interesting perspective and highlighted a diversity of opinion on some of the issues.
Author - Sensed some sincerity in her views and made an attempt to grasp Peterson's argument.
Laywer - Made an attempt to downplay the law but was hilariously undermined the next minute when the gender studies prof accused Peterson of hate/violence/abuse etc etc
Gender studies prof - Represented just how decadent, unscientific, and insulated a good portion of academia has become.
I can't believe the bald headed fellow is a university professor.
The fellow on the far left has incredibly frightening and frankly dangerous view points about what constitutes abuse and hate speech and it perfectly puts on display what Peterson is fighting against.
Am I mistaken, the only actual trans person was supporting Jordan.
I have no problem whatsoever with people who identify as different genders. If you look like a dude, and you have dude dangly bits, but you want to be called a woman, that's fine, I'll call you a woman, doesn't take any effort on my part, and I'm not some kind of a biologist doing medical screenings where it would matter.
If someone asks to be called by a different gender than they appear, and someone else intentionally chooses not to, I'll think they're being a bit of a dick, but that's about as far as I'll go.
I draw the line at calling it a "hate crime" or demanding punishment of people who choose not to use the requested pronouns. That's just fucked up.
I'm only half way through, but there's a lot of informative (and some really stupid) information.
"There's no such thing as biological sex"
0_o ... ... ... U wut m8?
I have so much respect for the moderator here. He did a fantastic job of keeping the conversation on track, as well as addressing the attempts of each side to bypass the other.
Nicholas is the physical manifestation of "feels > reals". To top it off, makes zero sense.
Quoted "stat":
First of all, lumping "correct name" with "correct pronoun" on transcripts. Trying to pad the numbers. And it sounds like clerical issues not some massive anti-LGBT agenda. Big whoop. Second, 58% of ALL students or 58% of trans-gender students?
Not using correct pronouns, leads to lack of available counseling. What?
First, the feeling and disrespect has nothing to do with it... yet it's an issue of dignity? Then there he states "my wellbeing and feelz are affected".
We should have healthy discourse -> then nope, actually you can't say that that's hate speech.
Nicholas is suffering from verbal diarrhea that is just leaking out and splattering everywhere. Never seen a more whinier bitch with tenure.
Then there is the lawyer: "no, no, the law won't penalize... 'tis all benign", but there are penalties.
